Authors Note: Hey guys sorry I've been away for so long its been crazy over the past year. I hope to finish this story soon, I am not sure how to write a rodeo so it may not be in here but I will to write something. Thank you all for your support and patience as this story continues.
It's Thursday afternoon around 2:15 pm when Riley and the gang pull up to Rolling Thunder. The scene is hectic there are people moving pens and chutes around the fair grounds. Rigby one of the rodeo clowns walks over to their convoy
Rigby: hey Riley how are you?
Riley: good where would you want us to set up?
Rigby: we are setting up the campers across the road in the field
Riley: you got we'll catch you later
Rigby: absoutely
He moves out of the way and they drive across the road and into the field. They get out of their vehicles
Nick: what do you need help with?
Riley: could you get the cinder blocks out of my truck and start putting them under the tires on the camper
Nick: sure
Dylan: do you want to call Jordan and let her know we are here
Riley: yeah I can do that
She takes out her cell phone to call Jordan when Keegan pulls up gets out and walks over to the group
Keegan: Riley your here
She gives Riley a big hug
Riley: was about to call mom and let her know we made it safely
Keegan: she's in court all day
Riley: good thing I didn't call would you wanna help us set up?
Keegan: sure what do you need?
Riley: see that guy over there moving rails? That's Rigby tell him I sent you
Keegan: ok
She goes over to where Rigby is and Logan. Dusty and Maverick pull up to the field and they get out
Maverick: Riley how are you?
Riley: good and it's great to see you
Logan: hey you
They both give her hugs
Dusty: I am Dusty Jenkins pleased to meet you
Riley: Riley McNally and my sister Andy, her boyfriend Nick, our friend Traci, my boyfriend Dylan, my partner Charlotte and there are two kids sleeping in the truck Kayla and Tyler
Maverick: nice to meet everyone where would you like us?
Riley: Drop your trailers and park on the other side of the rope
Logan: sure who is that sexy thing over there?
Riley: don't think about it she's off limits
Logan: alright was just looking
Maverick: I'll guide you in
They park their trailers in the field Kayla starts to stir in the back of the truck
Kayla: mommy I want to go visit daddy
Riley: ok baby can you give me a little bit of time to set up camp with everyone?
Kayla: no I want to go now
Riley: alright baby do you mind staying here while I take her to the cemetery?
Dylan: sure
She gives him a hug and kiss
Keegan: Riley I'll take you I want to go visit dad too
Riley: We'll be back soon
They head to the cemetery while the others finish setting up camp
Dylan: how's your physical therapy going?
Andy: good still working toward walking again they said in a couple of months I would be getting fitted for braces
Dusty: do you mind if I ask what happened?
Andy: not at all, back in May I was the victim of a serial rapist
Dusty is standing there in shock Addison and Taylor are the next to arrive at Rolling Thunder
Logan: Ladies nice of you to join us
Addison: hey Logan
Taylor: who else is here?
Logan: Riley but she had to leave for a while
Addison: great it'll be good to see her where do you want us?
Logan: Ask Maverick
Addison: typical Logan standing around looking pretty doing nothing as usual
Maverick: ignore him where you ladies can find a spot its yours for the weekend
He helps guide them into a spot and they get out and join the growing group of people
3 Hours Later...
Merrick, Harlee and A.J. have finally made it to Rolling Thunder. Riley and Keegan still haven't returned and Dylan is wondering where they are
Dylan: anyone heard from Riley?
Andy: no but don't worry I am sure she's fine
Charlotte: someone should call her
He takes out his phone and dials her but it goes straight to voice mail
Dylan: no answer
Harlee: finally we made it that was horrible
Logan: what happened?
Harlee: besides him bitching the entire way down we blew a tire on the trailer
Addison: wow that sucks
Taylor: hey guys how have you been?
Merrick: good so it looks amazing it's going to be a kick ass weekend i can feel it in my bones
Harlee: so how's Courtney?
Logan: why did you have to bring her up? I was enjoying myself
Merrick: that good huh?
Logan: I told her that she had better be gone before I get home on Monday
Harlee: Ouch
Keegan returns with Kayla but no Riley
Dylan: where's Riley?
Keegan: she went to a meeting
Dylan: why is she ok?
Keegan: a bit overwhelming and she lost it and broke down at the cemetery
Charlotte: this going to be a tough weekend but I feel like she needs to be here
Logan: what's wrong with Riley? What meetings?
Andy: she's an achololic nand she went to an AA meeting
Merrick: wow when did that happen?
Charlotte: it's not our story to tell
Addison: we understand
Maverick: who want to help me move the bulls into the pens and off the trailers?
A.J.: Lets do this
A few of the guys go and help Maverick while the girls take care of their horses
Charlotte: I want to watch this
Tyler: daddy can I go watch too?
Dylan: not right now buddy, we're gonna watch Riley compete tomorrow
Tyler starts crying
Charlotte: please don't do that
Dusty: I can take him to see the horses if that's alright?
Dylan: are you sure?
Dusty: of course
She takes Tyler to visit the gentle horses while the others finish setting up
Andy: how is Riley doing in Kingston?
Dylan: she's good everyone really loves her and I think she has found where she belongs
Andy: I am glad
Dusty returns with Tyler sound asleep in her arms
Dylan: I can take him
She hands him over to his dad who then goes and puts him in the camper
It's somewhere around 7:30 pm when Jordan and Trinity pull in to the field everyone has gathered around a big campfire
Trinity: hey Andy
Andy: come give me a hug it feels like a lifetime ago we saw each other last
Trinity goes over and gives her a big hug
Jordan: hey everyone where's Riley?
Keegan: I dropped her off at a meeting she had a breakdown at the cemetery
Jordan: has anyone tried to call her?
Dylan: I tried but she's not answering I am starting to get worried
Charlotte: lets go see what's taking her so long
Keegan: we'll be back
Charlotte and Keegan head to find Riley
St. Thomas Cathedral...
AA Meeting in the Basement...
There is about 50 people sitting in chairs and Riley is up front about to speak when the ladies walk in
Riley: hello my name is Riley and I am an alcholic
Everyone: hello Riley
She goes back to her seat
Host: thank you does anyone else want to speak before we break for the night?
No one moves
Host: alright this meeting is ajorned refreshments are in the back
Riley goes to grab some water when Charlotte and Keegan walk over to her
Charlotte: how are u?
Riley: better what are doing here?
Keegan: Dylan and the others were worried since they hadn't heard from you in a while
Riley: oh how's Kayla?
Charlotte: she's good having fun with the horses
Keegan: are you ready to head back?
Riley: yeah i am tired
They leave and head back over to the arena
20 Min. Later...
Everyone is still sitting around the campfire catching up when Riley and the others pull up and get out
Dylan: hey baby I was getting worried
Riley: sorry to scare you
He gets up and gives her a hug and passionate kiss
Taylor: hey Riley
She also gives her a hug
Addison: mom wanted you to have her new phone number she misses talking to you
She takes out a piece of paper and hands it over to Riley
Riley: thank you how is you mom?
Addison: she's good
Keegan: I am excited for this weekend
Jordan: how is the new job going?
Riley: really good I love it so far, I got a great partner Charlotte here. The town has embraced me with open arms so everything is working out
Andy: everyone misses you back home
Riley: I miss them too
Dylan: hey Charlotte can I talk to you for a moment?
Charlotte: Absolutely
Riley: everything ok?
Dylan: yeah baby no problems here
They take a walk leaving the group around the campfire
