Hai :3
DATE AND TIME: AUGUST 4TH, 1:26 AM
POV: Mori
I hear a knock on my bedroom.
I glance at the large 1:26 am in green, glaring at me from my nightstand. I sigh.
"Yes?" My voice is scratchy from just waking.
"I'm terribly sorry to disturb you, my lord, but it seems as though you have company. They told me to let them see you at all costs." The maid seems nervous.
"Don't worry, madam. I'll take care of it." I smile kindly, though she can't see me. "Thank you. Please, do go back to bed." I hear her sigh of relief through the door.
"I shall, my lord. Goodnight." As her footsteps patter down the hall, I pull on a pair of random pants and go downstairs.
To meet Hikaru.
His eyes are red from crying, and he carried his book bag in one hand.
"Can I stay here for a while?" he asks, voice strained. "I didn't know where else to go..."
"Karou?"
Hikaru nods, eyes welling up again.
I grunt, and signal him to follow me. I show him to the guest's room upstairs.
"The shower is over there and-"
"You know, it's not like I want to leave." Hikaru cuts me off. "It's almost like he's forcing me to. What does he expect me to do when he just comes out with a confession like that? Just be okay with it? Pretend it didn't happen or something? And then he just, bam, kisses me! Like that. Now, what am I supposed to say to that?!"
My eyes widen slightly in surprise as tears begin to stream down his face.
"He just doesn't understand. I love Kyoya! I'll always love Kyoya!" he shouts, seeming like he was only talking to himself now.
Then the idea slaps me in the face.
"Hikaru."
"But Kyoya is being an-"
"Hikaru!"
He seems to snap out of his daze, realizing there were actually other people in the room. "Yeah?"
"I have a plan."
"A...plan? For what?"
"For you! And, well, for me too." I say. "You love Kyoya, and, er, I...love Haruhi."
Hikaru's eyes widen in surprise. "You do?!"
I clear my throat and raise an eyebrow at him.
"Oh. Right. Go on."
"So..." I continue. "While I'm confessing to Haruhi, you can work things out with Kyoya. We must try to do it at the same moment though, so we may distract them from each other."
Hikaru glances up at me, obviously confused. "What do you mean, 'from each other'?"
I mentally slap myself for mentioning it. I was the only one who knew about their relationship, and Hikaru was the last person I'd tell.
My hesitation was enough of an answer for him.
"Oh." he responded, voice filled with heartache. "Oh.."
"I'm sorry." I respond, guilty for letting such a thing slip.
"No, I..needed to know." he sighs. "Well, nothing to do but steal him back now." Hikaru smirks, looking a bit more upbeat. "I'll just use my obviously advanced charms to get to him."
I chuckle, glad his mood was back to normal.
After discussing small details of the plan and talking for a moment longer, I leave his room to go to my bedroom.
I lie there, thinking about Haruhi. How I was finally going to confess to her. I wouldn't leave a thing out.
And I probably wouldn't be able to, I thought. Almost a year of unrequited love, and I would bet I had quite the amount of words pent-up in the back of my mind.
And other things too...
I shake my head, lying on my side to try to sleep.
I close my eyes, letting thoughts of Haruhi slowly swallow me whole.
