"Shut it off" Olivia groaned as she twisted away from Elliot. It was the middle of the night and the phone was ringing. Elliot blindly reached for the night stand to answer it.
"Stabler" He greeted by accident.
" , Maureen is having the baby. She wants you here" Jake said almost too fast for Elliot to understand. Elliot hadn't seen Maureen yet, but she wanted him there? It didn't make a lot of sense.
"I'll explain later. She said that she wants you here. We're at Mercy. I'd hurry if I were you, it looks like she'll be ready to push soon". The line went dead before Elliot could say anything. He looked over at his sleeping girlfriend, contemplating waking her. She was going back to work the next morning, but at the same time, she would be mad if he didn't tell her what was going on. He gently reached out and shook her shoulder.
"Liv, wake up. Maureen is having the baby". Her eyes opened wide and she sat up quickly.
"She's having the baby? That's great, El".
"Did you want to come?" He asked, hoping that she would. He hadn't seen his daughter in a few years and he was more than a little nervous about it.
"If you want me to. I just have to change and brush my teeth". He smiled and leaned in to kiss her cheek, knowing how much she hated kissing on the lips before she brushed her teeth.
"Thank you".

Olivia couldn't wait to have her badge back. The woman at the front desk had given them a hard time and almost didn't let them up to the Maternity Ward. Normally Olivia would have been able to flash her badge and be on her way, but this time she had to stand there and argue with the woman while Elliot called Jake just in case.
They were waiting for the elevator to come and take them up to third floor. Elliot was tapping his foot and playing with his hands, trying to calm his nerves. They had no clue who else would be up there waiting, but Kathy's presence was guaranteed.
"It'll be alright, El" Olivia reassured as they stepped into the elevator. He grabbed her hand and she gave his a gentle squeeze, their way of comforting each other.
As soon as they exited the elevator, they were met with a familiar face.
"Elliot" As genuinely surprised Kathy said.
"Hey, Kath" He greeted with a nervous smile.
"And Olivia". Kathy was slightly surprised to see the detective with her ex-husband. Elliot had been so lost without her.
"Hi" Olivia shyly waved. It had been years since she had seen the former Mrs. Stabler. Her hair had grown out, but it had also been lightened. Her face had a few more lines on it, but she looked great.
"I um, I didn't know if you were coming" Kathy explained.
"I wouldn't miss this for the world" Elliot assured.
"Good. Maureen needs her parents right now… And Kathleen will probably die when she sees you" She said, speaking to Olivia. After the whole ordeal with Kathleen's disorder, the young woman grew very fond of Olivia.
"Well, I've missed her, too".
"I'm going downstairs to meet Dickie and Eli. Lizzie and Kathleen are in the waiting room around the corner. The doctor said that the parents and spouse can be in the room as long as we don't add to the stress levels".
Elliot nodded and headed towards the waiting room, ready to see his daughters. He had noticed that Olivia had let go of his hand as soon as they saw Kathy and he wanted to ask her why, but it could wait. He had expected things to be much weirder when he saw Kathy. He expected her to be pissed at him, or even ask him to leave. Thankfully, she seemed to be in a decent mood. That or she was just too tired to start anything.
"Dad?" Lizzie said as she ran towards her father. "Liv!" Kathleen shouted as she nearly tackled the detective.
"You don't smell like alcohol!" Lizzie exclaimed as she clung on to her father, who was returning the embrace.
"Liv, I've missed you so much" Kathleen sighed as Olivia chuckled. "I've missed you, too. I love the hair" She complimented, noticing that she got a pixie cut. Elliot kept his arm around his youngest daughter's waist as he moved to give Kathleen a hug.
"So, are you sober now?" Kathleen asked quietly.
"I've been sober for two months and about a week" Elliot said with a proud smile.
"That's great dad. I'm proud of you. Did you get some help?"
Elliot looked over at Olivia, who was standing on the opposite side of Lizzie and winked. She simply shook her head at him, even though she was blushing.
"You can say that".

Elliot knocked on the door to Maureen's room. Olivia was in the waiting room with the girls, who were probably talking her ears off and asking her tons of questions. Jake emerged and smiled when he saw Elliot,
"Oh thank God, she's been asking for you and Kathy for a while now".
Elliot smiled and told him that Kathy had gone downstairs for a few, but would be back.
"Alright. I'll tell the nurse that you're coming in and she'll get you one of these fabulous outfits" Jake said referring to the scrub-like clothing he wore.
Two hours later, Abigail Lyn was welcomed to the world. The whole Stabler clan, plus Olivia, managed to squeeze into the room to see the baby and Maureen. Eli sat on Elliot's lap, telling him all about his school and his friends and the soccer team he played on. Elliot promised to come to his next game and Olivia loved watching Elliot interact with his kids. She had never seen him looked so happy. The only Stabler kid that didn't seem too thrilled to see their father was Dickie, which they both had anticipated.
Elliot and Olivia didn't get home until six am, only two hours before Olivia had to be at work. Elliot managed to convince her to take a brief nap while he made her breakfast and even picked out and ironed her clothes. He hated having to wake her from the little sleep she was able to get, but she didn't want to be late on her first day back. When it was time for her to leave, he kissed her deeply, nearly knocking her off of her feet.

Olivia sat at her desk, feeling too many eyes on her. She hated the amount of attention she was getting. Although it was a nice gesture, she wished that her coworkers hadn't bought her a huge thing of flowers. If people weren't looking at her before, they were looking at her now because of the giant 'welcome back' gift on her desk. She had never felt so insecure at her job before and she absolutely loathed the feeling.
Cragen wasn't letting her do anything either. Fin, Amanda, and Amaro were all out on the field while she was stuck at her desk doing paperwork. Granted, she had a lot of paperwork to catch up on. However, she would have time to do that at home. If she was going to be back at work, she wanted to be out and working cases.
It was only 11:30 when Cragen sent her home. No matter how hard she tried, her boss refused to let her stay any longer.

"How was work?" Elliot asked her after he heard their apartment door slam shut.
"It sucked. Thanks for asking".
She felt his arms wrap around her and she practically melted into his embrace. "He's not letting me do my job" She whined.
"He will, Liv. It was your first day back after two months, he wants to ease you back into things".
"I've been doing this for 15 years, I don't need to ease back in".
Elliot nodded, but he also understood where his former captain was coming from.
"I barely did anything".
Elliot cupped her face and brought her lips to his, kissing her until she was out of breath. She smiled and rested her head against his. Sure, being sent home ridiculously early sucked, but at least she had Elliot.
"I need to talk to you about something" He started, earning her attention.
"What is it?"
"Can we have the kids over for dinner?" He asked with the cutest smile she had ever seen.
"El, it's your apartment, of course we can. When?"
"Well, I kind of already set it up for tonight" He confessed.
She chuckled and kissed him once more. "You're lucky I love you".
