Chapter 1 - Abductions and a Secret
It all began one night when Mayor Edward Kelly started to petition the prohibition of any mutant existence.
"This will most surely have the mutants out of my way for good," he said, unaware of what was going on outside his office. "As long as there are enough supporters, the name "X-Men" will be a thing of the past."
Just then, the lights went out. When they came back on, Mayor Kelly was nowhere to be found. All that was left on the desk was a paper to start the petition with, and a pen he was going to write with.
The next day, former jock/football player and now prisoner Duncan Matthews was reading the paper, headlining Mayor Kelly's disappearance.
"Well, it looks like there's been another abduction," he said. "This time, it's the Mayor."
"Why would humans start vanishing one by one?" asked an inmate.
"I don't know," Duncan replied. "But as long as I'm secluded in this facility, there ain't nothing gonna take meaway."
Just then, when the lights went out, then went back on, Duncanspoke too soon, as both heand his inmate were nowhere to be seen.
The siren wailed to indicate their escape.
"Honey, where are you?" Margali Sefton called for her husband inside the Sefton house. "Your breakfast is getting cold!"
"I think Dad might have gone to work early," Amanda, Margali's daughter guessed, "and may be having breakfast there."
"I don't know, Amanda," Margali disagreed. "He'd never leave for work so early, since it doesn't start until 9."
"Uh, Mom?" Amanda got her attention. "Since when did we get a huge black mark on our ceiling?"
On this, Margali noticed the huge mark, and was surprised.
"That's strange," she replied. "I haven't noticed this before. I don't remember seeing thaton the ceiling."
"Fata Morgana," a voice echoed, getting their attention.
"Oh, no," Margali feared. "Not now."
"Mom, what is going on here?" Amanda asked.
Just then, Margali's appearance had changed. Her skin had changed green, and a crown withcurvedhorns appeared onher head.
"Mom," Amanda gasped. "You...you're a mutant, too?"
Margali sighed resignedly. "Oh, Amanda. It's time you knew the realtruth about your existence."
"What do you mean?" Amanda asked.
"Amanda," a woman with a snake-like torso got her attention, appearing behind her. She was the owner of the voice. "Both you and your mother are enchantresses."
"We're what?!" Amanda shouted.
Author's note: Sorry it took so long to write a chapter for XTermination. I was busy with other things.
