Me no own... Blah blah blah, story.
" Annabeth, I know you love to read, but you getting more books is hardly an emergency!"
"Percy it's not that! It's- Ugh, it's just easier to show you."
She pulled him up the stairs. They ran into the bookstore. She went up to the help desk.
"Excuse me, I'm looking for a book?" The woman was absorbed in her magazine, and did not hear her. " Excuse me, miss!"
The woman jumped. " Oh, sorry, I didn't see you there. What book are you looking for, sweetie?"
Annabeth stiffened at being called "sweetie", but she maintained her composure. " I'm looking for a book called " Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief."
Percy looked confused. "Wait, what?"
Annabeth ignored him. " So, do you have it in stock? "
" Yes, I think we do! Come with me, I'll show you."
She lead them down a book aisle, and they stopped in the young adult section. She scanned the rows of books. "Oh! You're in luck! We have the whole series in!"
Annabeth gasped. "Wait, you mean there's more than one book about Percy Jackson?"
" Yeah, I can't believe you didn't know that. Anyway, the book is extremely popular, and we usually don't have the whole series in at once. I think you'll really enjoy them!"
She walked away. Annabeth grabbed all 5 of the books she saw. She read the titles out loud. " The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters, The Titan's curse, The- Oh my gods, the Battle of the Labyrinth, and the Last Olympian!"
Percy was getting annoyed. " Annabeth, what is going on?"
She looked around, then put her mouth to his ear. " Percy, you know how I bumped into that kid?" Percy nodded, so she continued. " Well, I saw the book he was reading, and it was called 'Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief."
Percy gasped. " There's a book about me! So, I'm like famous and stuff?" Annabeth hit him. " Ow, sorry, go on!"
" Apparently, this whole book series is about our adventures!" She looked at the cover. " It's by some guy named 'Rick Riordan!' That name doesn't sound familiar. We need to get to camp and talk to Chiron."
They took the books and headed to the checkout counter. The cashier who was checking them out seemed to be about seventeen. She glanced at the book. " Oh, I just love this book series! The excitement, the adventure, Percy! But the only character I don't like is Annabeth. I mean, I know Percy is fictional and all, but he is way to good for her. It's embarrasing, but I think Percy sounds really hot. I mean, the way he's described, with black hair, and sea green eyes-" she stopped rambling And looked up at Percy. " Hey, are you single?"
Annabeth stepped in front of him. " No." She payed for the books, and dragged Percy out of the store.
They left the mall. " Percy, we need to get back to camp now. " We need to see if Chiron knows anything about this guy."
Percy nodded, and they found his car and hopped in. TheLong Island was about 1 hour and 45 minutes away from camp. But, as a present, his dad had enchanted the car. It could go great distance about 4 times as fast as regular cars. Percy didn't know exactly how it worked, but the mist stopped mortals from noticing. The car went to fast for Percy to actually see the road most of the time, but it somehow avoided crashing. Soon, they were at the base of the mountain that Camp Half-Blood rested on. Unfortunately, the camp did not have a parking lot, but as soon as he parked the car, it became invisible, only to reappear when the key was clicked twice. It alao became intangible and invincible. They ran up the hill and walked up to camp. They went to the big house where they found Chiron reading a book written in ancient greek. He looked up when they came in.
" Percy, Annabeth, you are back early. Is everything okay?"
Annabeth walked to the table. "We have a problem.''
She explained to him what had happened, and by the end he looked completely shocked.
He stood up. " Let me look in my files, to see if he's a previous camper." They followed him into a back room, where file cabinets sat. He went to one, and pulled out a giant book entitled " Camper names." He opened to the R section and looked, then closed the book again. " Nope, he has never been a camper here."
Annabeth looked worried. " Well, what should we do?"
"Look up where he is, then come back here."
Percy and Annabeth went to Annabeth's cabin, where they pulled out her laptop which she used to browse the internet. She typed in the name ' Rick Riordan'. Information popped up. " Aha! So, it says here, that he lives in Texas, but is in New York City for a convention tommorow! Let's go tell Chiron."
They walked back to the big house and told Chiron. " Percy, Annabeth, go to New York City now, and find out how this man knows about demigods."
They nodded, and they hurried off down the hill toward's Percy's car.
This was my longest chapter ever! Sorry it took so long! Reviews equal more chapters though! Note: I may make shorter chapters, more updates.
