Chapter 2

The morning was a weak blur of events. I'd overslept in my rush to leave for school. I ended up on time just to rush into Math. The class went slow. Penny who sat with me in most classes smiled lightly. Her red hair always wildly out of control. Her green eyes always seemed to be in a constant wide expression.

"So you finish you math problems?" she asked quietly, and I shook my head looking to the whiteboard.

"I can help you tonight." She smiled again watching me closely. I then turned to face her.

"Oh, Embry. Jacob's friend is going to help me tonight." I said simply and she nodded.

"Wow you spend a lot of time with Jake." She sounded light, but I could tell she wanted to know more about him.

"Well his friend, is really good with math." My hand now tapping my pencil on the table my eyes going blank.

I could see the vampire more clearly. Her strawberry blonde hair like static. Her eyes dark gold, and she was thinking murderous thoughts.

"Lou, Lou, Louise." Penny waved her hand in my face, and I snapped out of my trance.

"Sorry, zoned." I replied looking to the class emptying out. I blinked lightly. "What time is it?" then my eyes darting to the clock.

"Don't worry Mr. Clark didn't notice." She smiled getting to her feet, and I got up then brushing my hair out my face picking up my jacket.

"Thank God." I whispered now making my way to Biology. Penny gave me quick hug going to her Spanish class. I felt hands over my eyes, and I sighed. Other people's hands always seemed cold now. It was the fact I was used to the pack all having warmer body heat.

"Jason, what you doing?" I spoke soft taking his hands off my eyes turning to face him.

"Lou, spoil my fun." He pouted as we walked to our next class. "So I was thinking. We have dissection." He spoke with a creepy voice. My stomach suddenly tightened up.

"Oh crap." I muttered coving my mouth. My eyes searching the halls quickly Jason now helping me stand right.

"What's wrong?" he spoke quietly. My head going light. I felt the flash of visions flashing into my head. I didn't feel the ground when I hit it, but I open my eyes in the nurse's office.

The light was bright and I rubbed my eyes lightly. The nurse was standing by my side watching me closely.

"Are you ok dear?" she asked softly placing a cold compress to my temple. I sat up quickly, and looked around. The memory of the vision in my head kept flashing, but didn't make me feel so queasy.

"Can I just call? I need to make a phone call." I tried to move off the bed, and the nurse stared at me.

"I have to ask, are you sexually active." She spoke more careful. I turned to face her quick.

"No I'm not pregnant." I then slid off the cot, and looked to the reception room. "I just need to go home." I added. The nurse nodded letting me leave.

I naturally called someone from The Pack to pick me up. I felt like my head was still swimming, and I sat in my car waiting to see the car door open.

"So you're not feeling well then." His voice was dull starting the car up. I avoided looking at him, and I didn't like how I felt.

"Embry, you didn't have to come." I said stubbornly folding my arms tightly in my lap. I could hear a snort come from him. I turned quickly watching him.

"No one else could. Jake's got to go to school." His voice dark and I run a hand through my hair watching him pull out the parking lot.

"I don't get it, you used to like me." My voice small, but I knew he heard me. His driving sped up. I stared out the window.

"Things aren't easy. I wish I could tell you." His hand strayed from the wheel for a second. I could have sworn he reach for me in the corner of my eye. I turned to face him, but both of his hands were on the wheel.

"I just get a feeling something I've done is wrong." I watched him close. His eyes never strayed from the road.

"You've done nothing wrong. Louise, please don't think you can do anything wrong." His eyes quickly watching mine. I then see something in them that made my jaw drop. I then turned to look out the window seeing La Push come into view. I didn't know what to say to Embry.

"I just want to ask one thing? Before we get to Emily and Sam's." my hand reached for his, then placed it on top his on the steering wheel. His hands tighten on the wheel. He avoided looking at our hands.

"Embry. Have you imprinted on me too?" I asked slowly. I was terrified of what he would say. I kept my hand still on his. He was now pulling the car over next to the house. His eyes shoot onto mine.

He didn't need to speak I got the answers I wanted. I let his hand go getting out the car rushing into the house without a glance back.
