Chapter 4

I started to drive towards home, but I stole quick glances to Jacob. He sat watching all areas of the car quickly. I sighed knowing any questions I had wouldn't be answered in this moment of time. I sighed keeping an eye on the road.

"You might want to put a shirt on." I spoke quickly turning into street. Jacob reached in the back seat taking the shirt we kept in my car for this reason. Jacob never really needed clothes to keep warm, but then Charlie would think it wasn't normal.

Pulling into the driveway I stopped the car turning to face him. "So are you going to tell me what is wrong?" my hand still on the steering wheel. His eyes focused outside of the car towards the woods.

"Leave your window open." He quickly said rushing out of the car quickly towards the woods.

I grunted loud getting out the car, and stalked towards the front door. I turned around looking towards the night sky, and then opened the front door sighing.

"Stupid Jake!" I muttered walking into the hallway. Charlie walked out from the kitchen, and then quickly looking to his watch.

"Your home early!" he then re looked to his watch again. "I mean you feeling well." He asked lightly then watched me closely.

"My school called you?" I asked standing still close to the door.

"Yeah they said you weren't well and left." He watched me more closely, and I bit my lip.

"I went to Emily's for a while. I'm not that well, so I'm gonna go bed." I spoke softly my face was already pasty and clammy. Charlie nodded with a sigh. He walked towards me placing the back of his hand to my forehead.

"If you're not well, maybe you should miss school tomorrow. Just get some rest." He spoke quickly looking towards the living room.

"Thanks Charlie. Well goodnight." I turned rushing towards my room while he heading towards the TV.

I got to my room quickly, and the first thing I did was throw the window open. I felt stupid doing so, but then I never knew why Jacob was so paranoid.

I then started to do my normal routine of getting my toiletries, and headed to the bathroom. I cleaned up and got dressed for bed. I slowly headed back for my room. The room was empty then turning on my computer.

I had some emails from the Cullen's I ignored all apart from Emmett's, and I quickly replied to him.

The night wore on, and I hear Charlie turn in for the night.

I gave up trying to do my normal surfing, but then I turned the computer of at the mains without shutting it down. I picked up a copy of little women, and curled into bed pulling the sheets around me lightly. Then started to read where I last left off.

I felt my eyes getting heavy when I hear him entering my bedroom window. He was silent like a cat, but then not so graceful.

"Jake!" I hissed quietly watching him with just the cut off jeans, nothing else. He quickly sat down on the bed.

"Lou. A Leech had killed a hiker. We would have had it, but Leah got cocky and let it get away." Jacob reached out touching my face softly, he ran a finger from my hair line to my jaw his fingertips sending shivers down my spine.

"So you want to make sure, I am safe." I whispered slowly feeling him move closer to me. I could feel his body making me suddenly hotter.

"Yes, and spend time with you." He smiled leaning in kissing the side of my neck slowly running a hand up my waist.

"Jake, my uncle is in the next room." I spoke in between gasped trying to remember to breathe.

"Louise, you know. I'm quite as a mouse." He whispered into my ear quietly moving his hand under my vest pyjama top. I then closed my eyes lightly biting my lip.

"Jake, that's not fair." I gasped more feeling his hand moving slowly up my stomach. I breathed deeper getting light headed. Jacob moved the kiss to my lips kissing me hungrily, holding his hand now around my back holding me tightly on him.

"Louise, I love you so much." Jacob whispered in my neck while he moved me to lay on top him. His hands still holding me, and I could feel my beating quick and getting flustered.

"Jacob, what's wrong?" I then watched his eyes watching me, and he let me go pushing himself away from me. I blinked looking to him across the room from me. I sat up lightly getting out the bed walking towards him.

"Nothing is wrong Lou." He spoke quickly and I heard it, it was the floor board squeak. I turned to see the door knob move. I quickly turned back to Jake, but he had gone out the window faster than the door opened.

"Louise was you talking to someone?" he asked searching the room after turning the light on.

"No. I wanted some air." I replied pointing to the window. Charlie nodded and closed the door after himself.

I turned to the window again, and looked around. I got the feeling he wasn't going to come back. I rubbed my arms feeling the cold from the outside. Shutting my window I walked back to the bed crawling in sighing to myself before falling to sleep.

Something was wrong and Jacob was avoiding telling me.

I woke up late the next day, and my head was throbbing. Charlie had already left for work. I took a quick shower getting dressed and finding my car keys I then drove to La Push.

I stopped outside Emily and Sam's house. I stopped the engine before rubbing my eyes lightly. The door opened where I was staring at Embry, and he watches me closely.

"What brings you here?" he asked me softly, and offered me a helping hand out of the car. I looked up to him my eyes looking him over.

"Jake, I need to see him." I spoke soft, and see the look in Embry's eyes. I made a grunt hitting my forehead on the steering wheel.

"His running, and wanted to be alone." Embry's voice was low touching my arms lightly, and then lifted my head off the car horn. "Are you ok, you look a little paler. Well paler than you normally look." His eyes focused on mine.

"I'm not sleeping well, I keep getting the same vision." I then told him all about the vampire, and the fear I had for the pack. He listened carefully.

I then finished my story rubbing my temples, and Embry now helped me out the car.

"Louise, you really shouldn't worry so much about us. I mean we are a big pack, we can take care of ourselves." I nodded my head without thinking, and I lightly pushed Embry away from me, now I was out of the car.

"I know, but I still get scared." My voice was shaky and uneven. My biggest fear was losing Jacob, and I never could see what was to happen to him, and it frustrated me.

I walked into the kitchen, and see Emily making some pancakes. I then smiled small sitting down at the table folding my arms on the table, and then placing my head on the cold table surface.

I smiled lightly watching Sam enter the room yawning. He then did a double take looking at me.

"Lou, what brings you here?" he asked watching my small smile. I then shrugged, and the laughed.

"You know the same old same old." I then watched Embry sit down with me, and for a second I smiled at him. I then turned my eyes away from him seeing a knowing look in Sam's eyes.

The only sound was the batter hitting the hot pan. It snapped every ones attention, and I then watched Sam carefully.

The breakfast wasn't that bad and the conversation went from everything.

I wanted to get home, I had tones of work to catch up on, and I didn't like the feeling in the air between me and Sam.

Driving home was better, my head was clearing up, and I knew that being around Embry was confusing me too much.

This wasn't fair, I didn't know what to do.

Opening the front door, I saw him sitting there in the kitchen. His face was watching me closely, and I swallowed hard.

"What are you doing here?" I held my breath, and Jacob moved towards me quickly.

"I thought you would need me, where did you go?" his hand touching my face softly.

"I went to La Push to find you." I replied biting my lip gently. I then felt his fingertips gripping my chin.

Bring my face to his, Jacob kissed me deeply.

His hand gripping onto my waist holding me close to him, and I could feel something in the kiss he wasn't telling me. I pushed it into the back of my mind, and enjoyed the kiss.

Jacob took me to my room, and I held onto him tightly. His hands held me closer to him, and keeping the kiss strong.

Lying in Jacob's arms, and I rolled on my belly to watch his face. His eyes deep and dark watched mine. I could feel trickles of sweat running down my spine. He brushes the hair out my face.

"You feel better now?" he asked softly brushing my cheek, his fingertips warm to my skin.

"I'm fine, but we broke two of Charlie's rule." I bit my lip looking to the time. It was only two thirty, but then I knew that my luck wasn't all that good. Jacob held me still against him.

"Louise, when you said you see a vampire. What were its eyes?" he spoke softly, and his hand rubbing up and down the exposed skin of my back.

"Black, I think they were black." I then closed my eyes again trying to remember. I then opened and nodded to agree with my answer. "Why did you want to know?" my voice soft moving on the bed so my face could be closer to his.

"No reason Lou. Just relax." He spoke quiet his fingertips gripping my chin still. "You have nothing to worry about." He last spoke before kissing me softly again.
