Chapter 5

The next few weeks were better, and my vision didn't hurt me anymore. I on the other hand avoided La Push.

I just wasn't sure how to act around everyone. I knew that Embry still hadn't let slip of his imprinting on me, and I was in some sense happy about it. I didn't want anything to get in the way of mine and Jacob's relationship.

At La Push on a Monday after school, I sat at the table watching her making dinner for the many pack members. She smiled watching me writing out my math work.

"So have your visions gotten easier on you?" she asked turning to face me holding a mixing bowl on her bump, and I shrugged.

"Well they've not changed, but there not killing my brain." I answer her question. I didn't know why but I was nervous being here.

"Louise. I want to ask, how is everything with you?"

Emily's question was simple, yet I was on an instant edge. I didn't know what to say.

"Good, I'm getting better at my homework." I lifted my calculus book, and smiled weakly.

"Is something bothering you. You know a problem halved is a problem shared." Her smile contagious, but I just couldn't lift my face to smile my fullest.

"Louise, you're not pregnant?" she asked quietly, and she kept her eyes wide.

"No, no, oh no. I'm just having some issues. With stupid things." I quickly replied, and Emily relaxed.

"Good. I mean, it's just I know the emotions from a werewolf is pretty intense. Plus you and Jacob." She pursed summing up the right words to say. "You're young, enjoy the freedom more responsibly." He eyes catching mine, and she was giving me the adult look.

"I know. I'm on the pill." I said to my own defence. It was true having the relationship me and Jacob did. I didn't want to scare Charlie, but then he isn't one to ask me about birth control.

Emily kept watching me, and I knew she had an idea something was going on.

My eyes snapped to the door, and seeing the pack enter Emily dropped the subject.

My initial plan was to leave, but then Jacob's arms found me, and he pulled me into a tight hug. I didn't know why but I relaxed.

"Jake, please!" Leah barked finding a seat, and I pulled out of his embrace.

My eyes floated to the pack, and then back again. Sam kept giving me that knowing look to me.

"Oh Leah, your just jealous." Quil laughed trying to lighten the mood.

"Yes, I want to be sucking face with Louise." Her voice had a sarcastic tone.

I couldn't help but laugh, and everyone stared to me. Even Leah cracked a smile laughing quickly.

Dinner table was full, and I felt more at ease. All the food smelt good, and the conversation was light.

"So Lou. You are going to come to the bonfire party tomorrow night?" Paul asked me while passing me a bowl of mash.

I took the bowl and nodded.

"Wouldn't miss it for the world." I then passed the bowl onto someone else.

I remembered why I loved spending so much time down La Push. The Pack made me feel so welcome.

"Louise, did you ask Charlie about staying at Kim's?" Jared asked piling chilli on his plate.

I nodded quickly, and then took some salad on my plate.

"I'm staying at Kim's." I gave a light wink.

"Yes Lou, I hope that is the case." Sam gave an 'I'm the boss' look.

The table laughed watching him.

Leah had left so the atmosphere was brighter, but then my eyes would wonder over to Embry, and he would give me a small smile.

I returned the smile, and let out a small giggled.

Jacob placed an arm on my shoulder. His eyes going from Embry's to mine.

I stopped my staring now picking at my food slowly. Jacob for the rest of dinner kept looking from me to Embry.

On the drive home, I watched the road closely. I didn't know what was going through my mind, and a part of me was glad I was working. I didn't want to spend all my time thinking if Jacob knew or not.

That night when I slept I see everything happen. It was the strangest vision I had ever had. I was flashes and images. I see Sam in his wolf form, and Quil. The vampires were pulling them apart. I wanted to open my eyes. I wanted out this dream, but I couldn't get out. I see each and everyone of the pack being killed, and I couldn't stop it.

Then I see it happen like slow motion. Jacob faced with a vampire with dark eyes. Her hair was static around her while face. She charged at him, as so Jacob charged back at her. The fight was quick. Jacob's yelp was cut from the snap of his neck.

I woke up screaming in hysterics and Charlie now by my side.

"Louise what's wrong?" he asked holding me still, I was shacking violently. I couldn't tell Charlie what was wrong, and I could even understand myself. The cold sweat all over my forehead and I took deep breaths. I was terrified, and I knew why. The pack was going to be murdered. I had no idea how my dream was going to help them.
