CHAPTER 16
The next day, we wake up to my daughters screaming and asking for our attention. Josh is jumping on the bed laughing and making faces at them. Edward picks up Emilia and starts talking to her while I change Elizabeth.
"Hi Mily, you hungry now sweet girl? Wait just a little and I will give you a bottle." She keeps whimpering and I realise we`re two minutes away from both of them throwing a tantrum.
I ask Edward to clean up Emilia while I head to the kitchen to make their bottles. Josh assures me he can help his dad take care of his sisters just like he did with uncle Seth yesterday. I hear him talking from the kitchen and the laughing at whatever he`s saying. I`m so distracted that I don`t hear Seth approaching.
"So sis did you guys have a good night?" He starts laughing at the look on my face and keeps talking, "The girls were really good and Josh is so good to them. He helped us keep them entertained when they looked like they wanted to cry. The girls love him. It was good that you guys took some time to enjoy yourselves; there`s nothing wrong with it, sis. So I wanted to ask what are your plans for today? Cause I wanted to take Edward and Josh to a baseball game before you guys leave. I want to talk to him more Bells, I can tell you love him and I`m really happy for you, so I want to know him better."
I hug him and tell him to go ahead and ask Edward. I finish making the bottles and head to the bedroom where I hear them talking and Edward accepting Seth`s invite. I tell him that they will just have to drive to Angela`s place and we`ll meet there when they`re done.
After lunch, Edward drives us to Angela`s place. I can tell he`s nervous but I am waiting on him to tell me something. When we get there, Angie is already outside waiting for us. I kiss Edward and tell him to text me when they`re done.
"Don`t eat too much because Angie invited us to have dinner before we leave for Forks, and don`t be nervous, ok? Seth really likes you." He kisses my hand and then helps me unbuckle the girls and Josh. Angela hugs us and immediately goes for both girls and takes them with her inside. Josh follows her talking nonstop until Edward tells him is time to leave for the game.
He kisses me hard and puts his hands on my hips. I put mine around his neck and make out with him until we hear Josh asking us to stop kissing. We laugh and he kisses my forehead.
"We`ll be back later . I won`t lie to you, I`m nervous about spending time with your brother because I know how much he cares about you, but he won`t scare me away. If chief Swan didn`t, he won`t either." We laugh at that because we both know Dad was "team Edward" since the very beginning.
After saying goodbye to Edward I go inside and find Angela laying down on a brand new carpet with my girls.
"I hope you don`t mind Bells, the carpet is new and I made Ben clean it more so it was safe for my babies. Oh my god they`re so big and gorgeous! I need to take a million pictures of them. Can I?" I laugh at her bubbly personality and tell her it`s ok. We talk about Halloween and she tells me she will be in Forks for Halloween, so we definitely need to stop by at her parents place that way she can take picturess of us. Then she asks me about my relationship and if we already had sex. When she sees me blushing, she starts jumping and asks me to give her details.
"Oh, my God, Angela, I will tell Ben that you have way too much energy on you! Well we actually had sex yesterday for the first time and believe me it was so good! I don`t really feel comfortable giving away too much details but I will tell you this: I never experienced anything like this, not even with Peter who I thought was a really good lover. Edward drives me crazy with his words and his hands. He`s very sweet and passionate at the same time. I mean I came three times! I don`t think I ever did and that`s pretty sad." We start laughing and she hugs me and tells me she`s very excited for me and Edward.
We gossip and play with the girls for a couple of hours and then she asks me if I want to move things to the kitchen because she`s making Italian for dinner. I put the girls on their carriers and take them with me to the kitchen. While Angela cooks, we talk about her plans with Ben, and she asks me what mine and Edward's plan are.. I tell her that we decided to do more things as a family and that we are very committed to our relationship.
"Gosh, Bella, you are so in love with that man! I know he adores you and the girls, but with the way he looks at you it`s pretty obvious he`s so in love with you as well. That makes me so happy for you after everything that happened with both of you before. You know when you guys started dating I got a call from Alice who was, as usual, saying she knew you guys were meant for each other. You know how she's the little psychic. She also said you guys will probably be married by next christmas." We laugh at my sister and her antics, but I can`t help but wonder what the future holds for our relationship.
After we put dinner in the oven, we go upstairs to Angela`s bedroom and she gives me a huge box full of clothes for the twins. She says that she started buying things since she found out I was pregnant and has been waiting for the right time to give them to us. While the girls are sleeping we try a beautiful velvet red dress on them and I decide it is perfect for christmas. I take a picture and send it to Edward who sends a pic of Seth and Josh screaming and eating way too many hot dogs.
Before dinner, the girls wake up and Angela helps me entertain Emilia for a little bit while I nurse Elizabeth. She loves to play with my hair while she eats and I love to touch her little nose. he makes the cutests sounds while I do it. Angela takes her when she`s done and gives me Elizabeth. She goes downstairs to take the food out of the oven and greets Ben who just arrived from visiting his sister.
A few minutes later Edward and Josh arrive and Elizabeth immediately starts trying to get his attention. He takes her and starts talking with Ben. Josh follows us to the kitchen and starts telling us about how the game was very exciting.
"Unca Seth gave me a hot dog and he ate like a million! We had so much fun and he told me next time we will all go together! But then unca and daddy started talking and were too serious, I thought they were sad but later they were laughing so everything was cool. I`m thisrty again, can I have more juice please?" He leaves the kitchen running to where Edward and Ben are talking. When Edward notices me watching him, he winks at me so I know everything is fine. I blow him a kiss and tell them dinner is ready.
Dinner goes smoothly and we discuss our Halloween plans. We tell them that Alice, Jasper and Luke are joining us for trick or treating, and we are stopping by at the Cullens to nurse the girls and take a few pictures. We also plan to go to her parents place for a little while. Angela and Ben are going to be chaperones at Angie`s twin brother's school party, but they are hoping we will be able to see each other even for a little bit. Soon it`s time for us to leave, so Angela and Ben hold the girls while Edward helps me with the box of clothes and all the baby stuff we brought with us. We say our goodbyes and promise to call each other next week.
When we arrive at Seth`s apartment, Edward asks me what I think about staying the night in Seattle and leaving in the morning. I agree with him so we take the bags and our precious cargo inside the building. Josh keeps yawning so I know he must be exhausted. He asks me to give him a bath and tell him a story before bed. Edward tells me he will change the girls and give them their bottles so we both finish at the same time. Seth is nowhere to be seen and when I text him, asking where he is, he says he`s at the movies with a bunch of friends.
"Come on buddy let`s give you a bath, you`re almost falling sleep on your feet!" I pick Josh up and he holds me tightly. I prepare his bath while he is taking his clothes off. "Bella, you`re gonna see my little butt! Hahaha it`s so funny! " He starts laughing like a maniac and I can`t help but laugh too.
We talk while I`m giving him his bath, "How many days until Halloween, Bella? I want everyone to see my badass costume!" When I tell him that badass is not a word he should be using he blushes and says that his nana Esme and aunt Rose told him the same. He promises he won`t use it again, and I smile at him. "Sweetie don`t feel bad about it, we all say words that we shouldn`t sometimes, but we need to learn to speak in a correct way, ok?"
I carry him from the bathroom to our room and help him get in his pajamas. The twins are already sound asleep, so I start talking to Josh about Harry Potter. He gets excited and asks questions about Hogwarts and magic until he finally falls asleep.
I leave the bedroom and go looking for Edward. I see him in the balcony lost in thought, and I decide to make him a coffee and let him tell me what`s bothering him until he is ready. He hears me approaching and takes the mugs from my hands. He hugs me tightly. We sit in a love seat and I notice he`s trying to gather the courage to tell me something. I turn to look at him and hold his hand.
"Whatever it is, Edward, you can tell me." He turns to look at me and nods. He then makes me stand up and straddle him. "Much better babe." He kisses me slowly and then it turns desperate. I end it with a chaste kiss and ask what`s wrong.
He sighs and starts telling me about the game. How nervous he was about getting to know my brother better.
"But you know, he is a really nice kid Bells. He already treats Josh like family and when he asked him if he could call him "uncle Seth" he gave Josh a very genuine smile when he said yes. He bought us hot dogs and a bunch of stuff that I`m surprised my kid ate again at Angela`s." We start laughing, remembering how Josh asked more from everything Angela cooked. She even gave him a small container for breakfast tomorrow. "You know? Josh told us there was a moment when you guys were very serious and he noticed you were he said you guys were joking and smiling again. Did something happen?"
He tells me that Josh is way too observant and then he starts explaining about what he and Seth were talking about.
"Seth told me he is very happy for us, but he said it's his duty as your brother to ask about my intentions and feelings for you. I told him that I am very much in love with you and that I want us to be a family someday Bella. I told him that meeting you has been the highlight of my year, one of the best moments in my life." I kiss him hard and we lose ourselves in the kiss during that moment.
"But that`s not the reason why we were serious. He shared with me his memories about how fragile you were after ending things with Peter and how scared he was that you were never going to open your heart again for someone. He said that you cried a lot and didn`t take care of yourself for a couple of weeks until the doctor told you the twins could be in danger if you kept things that way. It was painful to hear it but I can imagine the hurt you felt, and I know how hard it is to realise that all your plans just changed in a heartbeat because the person you thought you loved didn't want the same things you do."
I start sobbing in his arms and he lets me cry while whispering sweet things to me. He wipes my tears and kisses me again. This time, his hands start caressing my back in a very intimate gesture.
"I didn`t want to upset you, Bella, but I wanted you to know what your brother and I talked about. He told me again how happy he is that we found each other and that he has never seen you this happy with anyone. I promised that I will take care of you guys and honey, I know that I told you this before, but you are way too precious to me and I will never hurt you. Like I said before, hearing what your ex did to you was painful, but you also know my story and in a way I`m thankful all that pain led us to this moment, and the future we`ll have together".
I smile at him and tell him that the game and that talk was Seth`s way to show him he approves of our relationship. That's something that he has never done, not even with Jasper or any of my boyfriends. He actually hated Peter but was very respectful of my choices just like we are of his.
We stay outside for a while, he cover us with a blanket when he feels my cold arms and decides to warm me up.
