Chapter 13:
Mt. Justice
Three Days Later
Wolf and Dick were playing around on the floor while the humans were watching TV and keeping an eye on the playful wolves. Last time they left them unattended to play they all got in trouble.

One Day Earlier
Dick and Damian had just arrived via zeta tubes to the cave. Jason and Tim were staying at Wayne manor for a little while longer because Jason had overslept and Alfred wouldn't allow him to leave without breakfast, Tim stayed to make sure he ate it all so that Alfred could go do the other things he had to get done.
Wolf bounded to Dick and barked a few times. Dick barked back. They both trotted off to another section of the cave while Damian went to the commons room to see what the rest of the team was doing. He found Connor watching static, Kaldur reading a book in one of the arm chairs, Megan in the kitchen, Wally on his phone, and Artemis was not around, probably in her room.
None of the team even noticed his presence until he plopped down on the couch next to Wally, who nearly jumped out of his skin when he felt Damian sit down next to him.
"Oh it's just you," Wally sighed in relief, "Don't scare me like that!"
"where are your brothers? Its unlike you all not to be together," Kaldur asked politely while Wally whined something about being ignored.
"Grayson is here, he went off with Wolf somewhere. Todd was an idiot and Drake is making sure he doesn't starve," Damian vaguely explained.
Kaldur looked a bit confused about the 'Todd being in idiot' part but didn't get the chance to ask before the computer announced the arrival of the missing two brothers to the cave.
"Ahh, the Agent A can really make a good breakfast," Jason exclaimed as he walked into the commons room with Tim at his side looking slightly annoyed and disgusted.
They made it to the commons room to find the team besides Artemis and Dick, "Hey demon what happened to the big puppy?" Jason asked his youngest brother.
"Grayson went with Wolf somewhere right after we got here," the young half-demon answered again with a sigh.
Superboy suddenly got up and tilted his head a bit, "do you hear that?"
"What is it Superboy?" Kaldur asked.
"A door opening," Superboy sounded confused.
"Maybe Artemis finished her homework and is coming out?" Megan asked sounding hopeful.
"No, it's an outside door. I can hear the rain coming in."
"Well I guess we should go check it out," Jason shrugged.
"Yeah, if the rain is coming in we should close the door to keep the cold out and the floor will get wet," Tim reasoned.
"Typical Timmy," Jason smirked at the reason his brother said as Tim sent Jason a look.
"And if there is an intruder we can get rid of them," Damian added as he walked towards the main door they always used to go outside.
The older brothers cast a glance at the team before following the smallest towards the door. The team looked more nervous with the idea of an intruder but followed the brothers forward.
When they got to the door it was wide open and they could all see the pouring rain outside and the trees bending in the strong winds. The rain blowing in and slicking the floor around the door.
"Tt," Damian walked over and pushed the panel on the wall and the door slid shut and locked back up like it should have stayed.
Just when everyone was thinking it was just a malfunction Tim drew their attention to the floor a little away from the soaked area around the door. A slick of mud stood out against the grey floors of the cave as the mud made a trail off to the room they just came from.
To say they were not expecting what they found when they went back to the commons room was an understatement. Running around the commons room was two huge wolves covered completely from head to toe in mud. The team all stood there in the door way with their mouths hanging open until the playing wolves noticed them standing there.
Barking they both took off towards the team. Before anyone could react the two wolves had knocked them all down and started licking their faces in happiness.
"Recognized Batman 02, Martian Manhunter 07, Flash 04," The zeta tubes announced before the team could get up.
As the three leaguers materialized they seemed to be at a loss. All they saw was the team being pinned down by Wolf and Dick covered in mud (thus the team now was as well) and the commons room a complete mess.
Needless to say, they spent the next few hours cleaning up the room and themselves to learn something about responsibility. Kid Flash had never been so annoyed that they got a lecture about puppy sitting and cleaning.
Mt. Justice
Present
"Recognized Green Arrow 08" the zeta tubes interrupted the peaceful quiet.
"Artemis I got a-" Green Arrow cut off seeing the black wolf suddenly stop playing with the white wolf and start glaring.
"Oh hey puppy, I thought you guys were trying to show how human you can be but this is not human in case you didn't know," Green Arrow mocked.
Dick started growling softly which caused Wolf to do the same. Artemis stepped forward to glare at her mentor before getting to the point, "What?"
"Oh right, I got a mission for you. Batman asked me to come since he was busy with other stuff."
"Well?" Artemis was getting impatient.
"Yeah you guys are heading to an island off the coast of Antarctica so dress warm! We got a strange signal coming from that area; your mission is to find out what it is. You leave in two hours so pack up and get ready. Have fun!" Green Arrow told them and smiled and waved as he left.
"Recognized Green Arrow 08," the zeta tubes announced his departure.
The team looked at each other before going off to their rooms to change and get any necessary supplies for the mission. In half an hour they were all ready, dressed in heavier and more insulated versions of their uniforms, their colors a more pale comparison to the normal.
Dick was still in his huge, black wolf form and stood next to Wolf. Jason, Tim and Damian wore uniforms of their own like the others. As they went over the details of the mission Batman sent them, he apparently didn't trust Green Arrow to tell them everything they would need to know so he sent the rest of the information to the cave for the team, many thought it was just to keep them busy but Damian couldn't shake this feeling that something wasn't right.

Unknown Time
"It was a success," a man in a long black trench coat with an upturned collar said in a slightly distorted voice to another man with scars on his face, "the subject is unable to change back."
"Good," a deep baritone answered, "then we can begin with faze two."
The man in the trench coat nodded and bowed slightly before leaving the scared man alone once again.
Bio Ship
Approaching the island off of Antarctica
With Miss Martian at the pilot seat and everyone else seated around (or in Dick's and Wolf's case lying on the floor) everyone was in the bio ship but they were oddly quiet. The closer they got the more everyone could feel that something was going to happen.
Jason tapped his foot in anticipation, his fangs were tingling and he was on high alert, he just couldn't explain why he felt like they were being watched, but his vampire senses were telling him danger was near. The young vampire kept sneaking glances at his werewolf brother but his brother didn't seem too worried about anything which just annoyed the younger.
Tim could tell Jason was getting antsy and could tell Dick's calm exterior was just ticking him off even further. Under any other circumstances Tim would have laughed but the young half angel could feel it too. He could tell something was definitely going on, between Dick's condition and now this mission with mysterious circumstances. Then there was that random attack a few days ago and somehow Damian knew the guy that attacked them. Tim had a feeling somehow it fit together but they were missing a few pieces.
"Approaching target," Miss Martian broke the silence.
"Team get ready, we don't know what we will find down there so we have to be cautious. Kid Flash, Wolf and Dick will go first to scout ahead but stay in contact range," Aqualad said taking charge.
As the bio ship made its decent in camouflage mode the three scouts got ready. When they landed the three got out and took off into the snow covered surroundings.
