Hello Everyone! I'm back back back back back again!

We could talk about how long I've been gone,

The promises I've made,

or the fact that these next few chapters are going to be based on "The Sun, The Sea, and the Host Club.".

But we're not!

We're gonna hang out and have a great time! Oh how I missed this.

But forrealzies though, these next few chapters are going to be based around the beach episode of OHSHC. It's super long and it might seem like one big filler, but it will be worth it, I promise! I pinky promise even!

Alright friends! Enjoy the story!

Excuse any spelling or grammar errors... I kinda suck sometimes..

I don't own OHSHC... any part of it...

Haruhi's POV

Dani hadn't been the same since the incident with her father. She's been quiet and reserve, and she doesn't have the normal sparkle in her eye when she speaks. I've tried to get her to talk to me, but her lips are sealed. Dani tries to act like she's fine and nothing is wrong, but I see beyond her little act. She's hurting, and nothing seems to brighten her spirit. The Host Club and I have tried all her favorite activities to try and get her to genuinely smile, but nothing has worked. Even when she got her boot off and started dancing she still was missing that fire in her eyes. I was at my whit's end! I was about to result to drastic measures and call in the mother figure, but something changed. One day after the Host Club, Dani seemed to find her fire again.

That particular day , I was doing the dishes in the kitchen while everyone else was putzing about. Nobody really wanted to go home, since it was an especially cold day outside. Dani was silently doing her homework in the window sill. Sometimes, I would peek out of the kitchen and see Dani staring absent-mindedly out the window. She had taken off her wig and let her long, brown hair sit on her shoulders. She had such a hurt expression on her face and I could tell she had a lot of thoughts going through her head.

I wish this girl wouldn't be so stubborn. She needs to talk to someone...

Suddenly, I heard an array of voices and clamoring outside the kitchen. I quickly dropped the piece of china I was cleaning, wiped my hands, and walked out to check out the commotion. Hikaru and Kaoru were standing in front of Dani and attempting to pull her off the windowsill, while the rest of the Host Club was walking around a bunch of mannequins with…

Bathing suits on them?

"Come on Dani!" Hikaru was saying.

"Just try one of them on!" Kaoru finished, pulling one of Dani's arms. But she wasn't budging.

"No. I'm doing my work right now, guys. Please leave me alone." Dani said, not looking at them.

"But Dani listen! You haven't heard the best part! We want to show you the swim suits because-"

"Because you want to see me in a bathing suit, ya pervs." Dani said, coldly.

"Us? We would never want anything like that!" The twins said, winking at each other.

"Sure…" She rolled her eyes and returned to her schoolwork. The twins exchanged sad glances at each other, and I felt my heart break just a little bit.

Even the twins can't get her to cheer up. She used to play along with them and they used to get her to laugh until she cried. Where did that Dani go?

"Hikaru, Kaoru, why are all these bathing suits here?" I asked, walking up to them, breaking the awkward silence.

"Ah! Haruhi! Just the girl we wanted to see!" Hikaru said, suddenly beaming.

"Since Dani is being a stick in the mud, you can try on some of the bathing suits!" Kaoru said, pulling me closer.

I looked around the room. Different varieties of swimsuits in so many different colors engulfed the room. I saw Hunny running through the aisles as Mori kept an eye on him and Kyoya and Tamaki were talking in the corner. I almost wondered where all the swimsuits came from, but then I remembered not to question these kinds of things anymore. I instead get right to the point.

"So… why are all these here? Why do you want me to try them on?" I asked, turning back to the twins.

"Because, Haruhi. Pack your bags. We're heading to the beach!" Hikaru and Kaoru said together.

"The beach? But why?"

"Don't you remember what you said?" Hikaru said.

"You said you'd like to go to a real beach." Karou said, sliding closer to me.

"I said that? Oh yeah! I do remember saying that! Wait, that's really happening now?!" I said, excitedly.

"Yes Haruhi, we will be leaving tomorrow for a weekend visit to my family's private beach. The weather predicts it will be warm and sunny, so I say it is the perfect weekend to go." Kyoya said, scribbling into his book.

"AWESOME!" I yelled, pumping my fists into the air. I have never been to a real beach in my whole life! I was so excited!

"We're going to a beach? Really?" I heard Dani say behind me. I turned around to see her sitting up straight on the windowsill. Her book was closed next to her. I walked over as I spoke.

"Yeah, apparently, we get the spend the whole weekend at a real-life beach!"

Dani looked up at me, smiling. "I haven't been to a beach in years. It's one of my favorite places to be!" She said excitedly. I beamed at her and grabbed her hands. "Well, it will be an adventure for both of us then!" Dani gave me a huge smile, and for the first time in weeks I saw that sparkle in Dani's eyes.

What a relief… I was starting to think she was lost forever!

"I was trying to tell you that before! You wouldn't listen!" Hikaru said, annoyed. I shot Hikaru a look, but surprising, I heard a giggle come from Dani.

"Well excuse the hell out of me, your highness. Continue with what you wanted to say...Go on!" Dani said, smirking a Hikaru. He smiled back at her.

There's the Dani we all know and love…

Dani and I spent the rest of the afternoon looking at all the bathing suits and shooting down all the racy ones the twins wanted us to try on. Dani finally picked a high waisted red and navy blue two piece, and I settled for a pink two piece with ruffles. Hikaru and Kaoru said it "hid my lack on feminine physique". What charmers. After the Host Club parted ways, I walked Dani home. She was chattering non-stop about her excitement about the mini vacation to the beach and how excited she was to spend time with us again. I was just happy she was talking and chipper again. When we got to her house, she said goodbye and nearly bounded up the stairs into her home. I walked home, praying that this beach trip is what Dani needs to shake off her depressed feelings.

Dani's POV.

A beach trip! This was the best news I've heard in a while! A time to get away from the norm. A time to get away from town and all the problems in it. A time to get some peace of mind. God, I haven't had that in weeks. Ever since the incident with my dad, I've been so paranoid. I haven't slept well. My eating has been sporadic. I've just been not myself. Nightmares keep me up at night, I get scared walking anywhere by myself, and the dark is even more frightening than it's ever been before. But I love the beach with all my heart. It's one of my favorite places to be. I know I was getting more excited than I should be over this trip, but I hope this trip would do more than just help me relax.

I ran inside my house after school that day and kissed my mother on the cheek. She was in the kitchen, cooking up some yummy smelling soup. She had been coming home a lot earlier now ever since the interaction with my dad and has helped me through all of my emotions and episodes. "Mom! You'll never guess what I'm doing tomorrow with the Host Club!" I said excited, dancing around her. "Danielle! I haven't seen you like this in weeks! Calm down sweetie, tell me what's up?" She said, stirring the pot of soup. "We're all going to the beach tomorrow! We're going on a weekend getaway! Oh, isn't it exciting!" I almost yelled, jumping up and down. My mom giggled. "Yes, I heard. Kyoya called me and informed me all about it. You're lucky, because if it was anyone else I probably would have told them no." Mom said, smirking at me.

Yes mother, I'm aware you want me to get married to Kyoya. I know, you know, we all know. But that ain't happening.

I rolled my eyes playfully at her. I ran upstairs to get all packed up. I packed the swimsuit the twins gave me, some beachy clothes, and all of my other necessities. After eating dinner with my mom, I took a shower and hopped into bed. Right as I was dozing off with Bun Bun snuggled up next to me, I heard my phone ding.

Who dares disturb my slumber?

I sleepily reached for my phone on the bedside table. A text message from Kyoya was on my screen.

Danielle,

We're picking you up at 7 o'clock sharp tomorrow. Be ready.

Bring your wig with you tomorrow, just in case.

Kyoya.

I was confused. Why should I have to bring my wig to a vacation? I decided not to question in and threw my wig into my suitcase. After getting re-snuggled into bed, I drifted off to sleep, thinking about sand between my toes and the Host Club. I fell asleep for once feeling happy.

THE NEXT DAY.

I woke up way before my alarm the next morning. I was up before the sun was evening awake! I slowly opened my eyes and stared at my ceiling; the glow in the dark stars were still slightly glowing.

Last night… Last night I didn't have a nightmare. I had a full night rest, and I'm not waking up in a cold sweat. That's such a rare occurrence… Bless the Lord for he is good..

I looked over at my alarm clock. 6:02 A.M.

Oh course… why does my body hate me like it does!?

I laid in my bed and listen to my surroundings around me. I heard the tinkling of the windchimes outside as they swayed in the soft breeze. I heard the night insects go to sleep and the early morning birds wake up and start chirping about. A while later, I heard soft footsteps downstairs and a coffee pot starting. Mom picked up a Saturday shift to make up for all the times she's missed work recently. Then, I heard my mom slowly open the front door and leave. That's when I finally decided to get up. I rolled out of my bed, stretched, and got dressed. I put on my bathing suit under a cute little sundress. I took my bag downstairs and ate some of the fruit Mom laid out for me. At 7:00 on the nose, I heard the doorbell ring while I was finishing washing my breakfast dish. Before I had a chance to react, 6 individuals were standing in my living room, calling my name.

"Dani? My dear daughter, where are you?" I heard Tamaki's voice cry out.

"Want us to go find her?" I heard two mischievous voices say in unison.

"She's probably still asleep, you know she's bad about waking up on time." I heard Haruhi say with a giggle.

"Umm, excuse all of you! Because I am awake and ready to go on time!" I yelled from the kitchen. I quickly wiped my hands on my dress and walked into the living room. All the boys had on their swimsuits, but Haruhi was wearing a blue shirt and orange cargo pants, a fashion choice that seemed out of the ordinary for her normal wear.

" Well good morning everyone! Ready to go to the beach? I sure am!" I smiled, snatching up my suitcase.

"Wow Dani- Chan! You look really pretty!" Hunny cooed. "My little girl looks like such a princess!" Tamaki said, running over and giving me a hug. I gave him one back.

"Well, thank you Sempai! I'm very excited for this trip, but you're kinda squeezing the life out of me." I giggled, finally wriggling out of his grasp. I looked over at Haruhi again. " Hey Haruhi, not to be rude or anything, but what's up with the outfit. I've never seen you wear anything like that before." I said to her. She shrugged and said "I don't know, Kyoya- Sempai just told me to put it on before I left." I looked over at Kyoya. "Why on earth would you put her in such a trashbag of an outfit?" I said jokingly. I felt Haruhi punch me lightly in the arm.

Kyoya stepped up and slide his glasses up his nose. "I didn't think her previous outfit was appropriate for her to wear on this certain day." I rolled my eyes.

"Wow, Sempai. You're not her dad." I said playfully. He didn't play along. Instead he said "Danielle, I am going to have to ask you to change your clothes also. I'm not sure if you would be comfortable wearing that to the beach today."

What? "Umm.. I'm pretty comfortable, Sempai. I don't think I need to change." I said back to him in a curious tone. What is this about?

Kyoya stared at me, unimpressed. "Trust me when I say you need to bring along some other clothes, Danielle. It is at the upmost importance that you bring along some of your more... how should I say this… boyish attire to the beach this weekend. Let's just say you'll need it."

I looked around the room at the other members. They all shrugged their shoulders and look almost as confused as I did. I gave Kyoya one more confused look and took my suitcase upstairs. I opened up my closet and picked out some of the "boyish attire" I had stowed away. I threw a pair of longer shorts and an old tank top into my suitcase and changed into some tan shorts and a blue button up. I returned downstairs and halfheartedly showed Kyoya my new outfit. He nodded at me, "That will be acceptable. Come on now, we're late enough as it is." Takashi grabbed my suitcase and carried out to the limo. We piled into the car and started driving for a long time. I stayed silent for most of the ride, half listening to the conversations happening around me. At one point, I leaned over to Haruhi, who was sitting next to me, and whispered, "Hey girly, do you know why Kyoya made us change into this get-up? Why do we need to be like this to go on a beach vacation?" She whispered back "I have no idea, I saw wearing a tank top and shorts and he gave me this to change into. I tried asking all the guys, but they have no idea either. Kyoya must have something up his sleeve." I nodded and returned to my thoughts. The boys were all laughing and roughhousing in front of me while I wrestled with my thoughts.

Okay Dani, don't get too down. Maybe we just have to get a few pictures of the group or something. This is still going to be a great weekend full of fun in the sun. Don't get disappointed yet! You stop that! Chin up, darling. Make the most out of this weekend away from home…

After a few hours, we arrived at a gorgeous beach house. We all individually brought our luggage into the house and into some rooms. My room was in-between Haruhi's and Hikaru and Kaoru's. It was a big room with a king size bed and a huge bathroom. This room looked like it was for someone of royalty! Did I mind one bit? Nope! I threw my bag on the floor and jumped on the bed. I sank into the fluffiness of the mattress and buried my face into the mountain of soft pillows.

This is absolutely heavenly… If I die right here right now I could die happily.

Suddenly, I heard someone knock lightly on my door. I jumped up, startled. Haruhi stood in the doorway, laughing at me. "Somebody looks comfy." She giggled. I sat up and threw a pillow at her, "You could have announced yourself earlier, ya goob." I said. "I could have, but that wouldn't have been as fun!" She giggled. "Anyways, I came here because we're about to go to the beach. Kyoya said to put on your wig before you go… Don't ask me why." She said, walking away. I jumped up from the bed and reluctantly stuffed my hair under my red wig. I secured the wig to my head and put on my sandals. Haruhi was waiting for me at the front door. We walked out of the house and down the sidewalk leading to the beach, joking around. When we saw the beach in the distance we started racing each other to the shore, playfully pushing and shoving as we ran. Before we got to the sand, however, we were stopped clear in our tracks. The beach was crowded with a sea of familiar looking girls. These girls were playing volleyball, running around, or playing in the water. Haruhi and I looked at each other confused. "Are these…?" She started. I cut her off, "The Host Club customers? What are they doing here?" We slowly walked into the warm sand and walked towards the girls. Some of the girls saw us and waved and invited us to play with them, but we politely declined. We were looking for a certain friend of ours.

Beach Vacation my ass. Kyoya has some major explaining to do…

Haruhi and I waded through the girls to find Kyoya sitting at a table under a beach umbrella, reading a book. I could feel my cheeks getting redder and redder every step I took towards him. When we reached him, I had to control my voice.

"Sempai… what the hell is this?" I asked quietly, so the lingering girls couldn't here. "You said we were going on a vacation…" Haruhi said, not as angry. Kyoya didn't look up from his book when he responded. " The purpose of this beach trip was the give the customers a change in scenery, It wasn't exclusively for pleasure. Did I not make that clear?" He said in a bored tone. I clenched my fists. " No Kyoya… In fact, you failed to tell us that completely!" I said angrily. "Sempai, why would you fool us like that? Why wouldn't you tell us the truth about the trip?" Haruhi asked, squeezing my arm attempting to calm me down. "You were invited on this all-expenses-paid vacation for a reason and that is to keep our clients entertained. You can go home if you don't want to participate." He said coolly, still reading his book. I felt my face go completely red and I stomped away before I did anything stupid. I heard Haruhi running behind me as I sat down under another beach umbrella a little bit down the beach. I saw Hikaru and Kaoru playing their twincest act near the volleyball court, Hunny and Takashi were going beach yoga with other girls, and Tamaki was out in the water on a rock, trying to woo the ladies. They looked happy, but, needless to say, I was not impressed. Haruhi said next to me.

"Can you believe this Haruhi!? I can't believe he tricked us." I said, placing my chin on my knees. I was disappointed and angry, She placed her hand on my back.

"I know Dani, This sucks… I thought going to the beach meant a day off." She said sadly.

"You don't understand Haruhi, I was so excited for this. This is the first time I've been happy and excited over anything ever since…" I trailed off. Tears formed in my eyes. "I know, it seems dumb to be getting this upset over some trip, but it really meant a lot. I kinda felt myself getting out of my funk I put myself in… I just thought this trip could help me feel like myself again…" I said quietly, feeling stupid as I wiped away a tear. Suddenly, a group of girls approached us. I quickly buried my head in my knees to hide my face.

"Umm.. Haruhi? Daniel? Where are your swimsuits? Aren't you going to come swimming with us?" I heard one girl say.

"No, uh, I like looking at the sea from a safe distance." Haruhi said. "Well, if you're not going to swim, would you mind if we sat here and talked with you?" Another girl said excitedly. Haruhi covered for us by saying, "But why? You girls should go swim. You've got cute swimsuits on. Why not show them off?" The girls squealed with a chorus of "Oh Haruhi you're so sweet!" and "Watch us swim! Watch us swim!". Before they all left, one girl walked over to me and addressed me directly.

"Daniel? Are you okay?"

I looked up at the girl and gave my best smile. "Oh yes! I just got a headache. I haven't drunk enough water today. Promise me you will drink enough water so you won't get sick and ruin your fun." I said with concern. She smiled and turned bright red as she told me she would be careful. She ran off to join her friends, and I returned to sulking. Haruhi threw her arm over my shoulders and gave me a hug. "Look, I understand. And no, I don't think you being upset is stupid. I was so happy to see you excited yesterday. It reminded me of how you usually are. We've missed you excitable, dorky, and cheerful self, and we could call tell how much this trip meant to you. But let's not try to dwell on the negative. C'mon! Let's go and have a good time!" Haruhi said, standing up and pulling on my arm.

Noooo Haruhi, quit being a ball of sunshine in my life! You're running my wallowing in my self pity!

"C'mon, grumpy pants! Get up! Let's go wading in the water!" Haruhi urged, finally succeeding in pulling me up and dragging me through the sand and to the water. We both sank our toes into the wet sand near the shore. The water was beautiful and cool, and though Haruhi and I couldn't swim with everyone else I will admit it felt nice to wade. "C'mon Dani! Cheer up, you butt!" Haruhi said, playfully splashing me with water. The water she kicked got in my face and all over my shirt!

Oh, is that what we're doing now? You're on, Fujioka.

I gave Haruhi an evil grin as I splashed water at her. Haruhi started chasing me near the shore, trying to get me wet too. Some of the girls were so overwhelmed with us chasing each other and splashing each other. One of the girls even fainted! We urged the girls to come play with us and soon it was a splash fest everywhere! I soon found myself laughing harder than I had in a while. It felt good to laugh again.

Maybe this trip won't be as bad as I thought! I mean, what could possibly go wrong?
