"speaking"
'signing'
Neji's Point of View:
I walked into the house around five o'clock to find Shino and Shikamaru in the kitchen making dinner while Kiba and Naruto were sitting in the living room watching TV. As I turned the corner into the kitchen, Shino turned around and said,
"Neji can you go get Sasuke and Sakura? I believe they are both upstairs. Dinner is almost ready."
I nodded my head and turned out of the kitchen and headed half way up the stairs and called out,
"Sasuke dinner is almost ready! Come down and make sure you get Sakura!"
No response. I walked the rest of the way up the stairs and went to Sasuke's door. I knocked a couple of times and then peeked inside. Empty. That's odd. I took a couple steps over to the next door, which was Sakura's, and slowly opened the door.
I was greeted with the sight of Sakura and Sasuke lying on Sakura's bed asleep. It was rather innocent actually. They were facing each other on their sides and Sasuke's hand was cupping Sakura's cheek. I felt a little weird intruding on such a tender moment, so I quietly closed the door and walked back downstairs.
Everyone was already in the kitchen at the table ready to eat when I walked in, so I signed,
'They're both asleep, we should let them get some rest. They could both use it.'
Everyone nodded in agreement and went on with eating dinner.
Sakura's Point of View:
My eyes fluttered open and I was met with the view of a sleeping Sasuke. He looked so calm in his sleep. His features were soft, yet very handsome. Sasuke has sort of taken care of me these past couple of weeks and I can say that I might have developed a small crush on him.
Okay maybe a pretty large crush.
He was always very gentle and caring, yet he could still joke around and tease me. I reached up and placed my hand on top of the one he had resting on my cheek. I patted it a couple of times to wake him up. When that didn't work, I moved my hand to poke his cheek. His eyes opened up and I smiled at him.
'I guess we both fell asleep', I signed.
He nodded and replied,
'What time is it?'
I looked over at the clock and signed,
'Six o'clock. If we head downstairs now we can probably still catch dinner.'
He flipped over and buried his head in my pillow. I felt a mischievous grin creep onto my face. I flopped on top of Sasuke's back and rolled around a bit. After a little while of me squishing him, I felt him start to get up and I found my self falling back onto the bed. I couldn't stop smiling. I looked up and saw Sasuke's face extremely close to mine. He was hovering over me and I couldn't keep the blush from spreading across my cheeks.
Sasuke smirked as he ran a hand across my cheek,
'I love when you blush.'
I frowned and replied,
'Stop you're just making fun of me now.'
He leaned in closer, but when the door swung open and Kiba walked in we flew apart.
'I thought I heard something up hear, but I didn't mean to interrupt anything. My bad.'
He signed and sent a wink in our direction. I was mortified to say the least. I frantically signed,
'It's not what it looks like Kiba, knock it off!'
He just laughed and shook his head before signing,
'Dinner is still out on the table by the way.'
He walked out and I looked over at Sasuke. He looked just as freaked out as I was. I didn't think either of us were going to acknowledge what just happened at the moment. He got up, walked past me, and squeezed my hand as a sorry before walking out of my room.
All I knew was that I had to go talk to the girls.
Sasuke's Point of View:
I almost just kissed Sakura. A girl I just met a couple of weeks ago. I'm an actual idiot. I know I like her, but I wasn't planning on admitting that any time soon. The casual touches and shared smiles were innocent enough, but I almost kissed her this time.
I walked downstairs to go eat dinner and saw that all of the guys were still at the table. As soon as I made the turn into the kitchen I was met with 4 sly grins.
Shikamaru signed,
'Kiba told us what he walked in on.'
I shook my head at them.
'It's really not what he thinks was happening.'
Kiba replied, 'I don't know Sasuke. It sure did look like you were about to kiss Sakura.'
I saw the look on Naruto's face. I was going to really hear it from him.
'How could try and steal Sakura-chan's innocence, Teme?'
Of course Naruto would be trying to defend her honor. Naruto always acted like Sakura's overprotective older brother; when in reality, Sakura was probably the older sibling. She was always watching out for him and taking care of him, while Naruto played the tough guy and made sure no one messed with her.
'Dobe it's not what you think. I'm not trying to steal Sakura's innocence.'
'Well then what are your intentions with her, huh?' He shot back.
I quickly signed,
'I like her.'
He replied, 'Can you maybe, go a little slower this time?'
Oh he just wanted me to suffer through this. He knew I was embarrassed.
'I said, I like her.'
He gave me one of those genuine Naruto smiles. The ones that make you feel happy just because you're looking at him. I couldn't help the small smirk that made its way to my lips.
'I'm happy for you Teme!'
The rest of the conversation was cut short by the doorbell ringing.
'I'll go get it.'
I walked to the front door and opened it up. Standing there was the last person I needed to deal with right now. Itachi.
'Hello Sasuke. It's been a while.'
'What are you doing here Itachi?' I replied.
'Can I not visit my brother at school?'
I shook my head, 'No it's fine, I just wasn't expecting to you to come. We have a new roommate so you might need to sleep on the couch while you stay.'
'That'll be fine. I didn't think they would assign a girl to your house.' He signed while glancing over my shoulder and smiling at someone.
I turned around and saw Sakura standing on the steps waving awkwardly.
This will be an interesting couple of days.
