CHAPTER 2: 3 YEARS LATER
It's been three years since that fatal day and since then I have been working for Mary in her store she has treated me like one of her own and I have treated her as if she were my mother, in those three years I have worked on a robot companion to help me with my work I call him Q9-36 or 'Q' for short he does what he is told and you can talk to him and he will talk back like a normal person. Tomorrow I will get to have the day letting Q9-36 run the shop I was going to visit the scrap yard to see if I could find anything. At the end of the day I can barely sleep thinking of all the things I could find at the scrap yard.
I wake up nice and early and turn Q on making sure he has full power, he does, and I then grab my knapsack and start my long journey to the junk yard. The trip is about 6 miles long and you can only get there on foot, well at least that's what I've heard.
My feet are aching from this walk and I'm only half way there. What am I going to do my feet can't take another step without collapsing I sit down, I start to lay, all bones in my body are aching. A bus zooms past my laying body "What" I scream not caring about nobody hearing me "There's a bus". My stomach rumbles, I remember now MY LUNCH, "Yes" I scream in excitement, it's a grandolaf my absolute favourite. I devour the food, not leaving a crumb. My energy is restored. I start walking again. I finally make it to the scrapyard not a second to soon. The gate of the scrapyard starts to shut. I run. I skid underneath the closing gate and just make it, what am I gonna find in the haven of stuff.
After this long trek I have finally arrived I look around, this is my home, this is where I belong, among the piles of beautiful scraps.
