"I'm so glad this semester is almost over."

Dawn hummed in agreement as May flopped backwards onto the bed she was sitting on. The movement made Dawn move and messed up the words she was writing. The textbook that was sitting in May's lap fell to the floor in a scatter of papers that the brunette had shoved in over the course of the semester.

"May, you won't learn anything from throwing your textbook." Dawn said as she unhappily erased the words that her friend had caused her to mess up.

"I'm sure if Misty was here, she would agree with me." May whined and stretched her arms above her head. Dawn rolled her eyes.

"Misty is on a date with Ash, that's why she's not here tonight for study night." Dawn drawled out the words study night so that May got the hint of what she was supposed to be doing.

"But it's Wednesday, who goes on a date on a Wednesday night?" May said, throwing her hands up as if the idea was ridiculous, and pulled her phone from where she had thrown it on the bed earlier towards her.

"Apparently Ash and Misty do." Dawn said as the brunette texted on her phone.

"I hate being the single one. Misty gets to go out with Ash and you get to go out with Paul." May huffed, tossing her phone on the bed. Dawn watched as it fell of the bed, landing near the textbook that May had tossed earlier.

"Then get a boyfriend." Dawn said as if it was the most simple answer in the world. "Better yet, date my brother."

"Dawn!" May's blushing face was worth it. Dawn laughed at her friend.

"Come on May, I know he likes you. He lets you wear his football jersey to the games. He even gave it to you himself last week." Dawn explained, but May just rolled over onto her stomach to hide her blushing face. Dawn's phone buzzed from her desk and she set her textbook on her bed to get up and get it.

Dawn saw that she had a new text from her brother and texted back a response. She pulled the sweatshirt she had laying over the back of the desk chair, pulling the familiar clothing over her head. The football sweatshirt that she had stolen from Paul over two months ago that hung low on her body.

"I have to go downstairs and let Gary in the door. Do you want to come with?" Dawn asked once her head was through the sweatshirt. May popped up from the bed.

"Sure! As long as I can avoid studying." The brunette said and straightened out her own sweatshirt that she already had on after she got up.

"And since Dad and Rose are gone tonight Drew's bringing pizza. You're welcome to stay for food." Dawn said as the two exited her room and walked down the hallway towards the stairs.

"Sure, is anyone else coming over?" May asked as she followed Dawn down the stairs and towards the garage door.

"Just Gary and I think Paul works tonight." Dawn shrugged and opened the garage door. Her father always told her to keep it locked when either Drew or herself were home by themselves.

"Hello ladies." Gary's smooth voice came as he entered the house, slipping off his shoes to leave them by the door. Both of the girls greeted him in response.

"Drew's going to be here in a minute." Dawn said as her phone vibrated with a new message. May and Gary followed her to the kitchen.

"Cool, means I get you lovely ladies to myself for a moment longer." Gary smirked as he seated himself at the breakfast bar in the kitchen.

"I don't think so Gary." May said as she stood on the opposite side of the breakfast bar with Dawn.

"You two are no fun." The playboy whined and the three looked over when the door to the garage opened. Drew coming in with two pizza boxes in his hands. He looked over at Gary.

"You better have been behaving yourself Gary. No hitting on my sister." Drew threatened and the tall brunette groaned.

"I wasn't!" He defended himself and stood up.

Dawn and May helped themselves to the pizza, piling what they wanted onto plates. The girls thanked Drew then headed up the stairs back to Dawn's room. Drew called that he would be in his room playing video games with Gary. Dawn settled on her bed next to May, the two deciding to watch a movie instead of studying more.

"Drew! Hurry up or there isn't going to be any pizza left for us!" Dawn called out. Her brother was taking forever and they were supposed to have met everyone else for pizza already. She tapped her foot impatiently until her brother finally finished and shut his locker door with a slam.

"Yeah, yeah I hear you. You're so impatient sometimes." Drew hoisted his backpack further up on his shoulder and followed her out of the school doors.

The bell had rang almost 15 minutes ago and since it was Friday with a home game, their group of friends had their typical meet up for pizza. It was a football tradition for the boys who had been playing together since elementary school with the exception of her, but Drew was her brother and Paul was her boyfriend and no one really complained. Misty also came sometimes as well.

Reaching Drew's familiar silver car in the student parking lot the twins got in and Drew started the vehicle. They buckled their seatbelts and were on their way. Dawn played with the radio for the 10 minute drive, much to her brother's annoyance.

Entering the pizza place, they found everyone else already seated in the usual corner booth. Dawn returned the wave that Misty sent her and slid into the booth to sit next to Paul. Drew slid in behind her and didn't waste any time grabbing a piece of the already half-eaten pizza on the table.

"You better hurry up, I've had to hold Ash back so he didn't eat everything!" Gary called and the ebony haired boy huffed, sitting with elbows up on the table on the other side of the booth from them between Gary and Misty.

"It's not my fault Drew took forever to talk to a teacher after school today." Dawn said and took a bite of pizza. Paul looked over at her, his plate already empty. Dawn shrugged in response.

….

….

"Why are you smiling like that?"

May's voice cut through the blunette's thoughts and Dawn turned her attention from the football game to her friend. The La Rousse Raiders were playing a really great game and were far in the lead so she wasn't really paying attention.

"Smiling like what?" Dawn questioned, even though she knew why she was smiling, but she couldn't tell May of course. Her friend looked at her thoughtfully, brushing off lint from Drew's jersey that she wore over her red hooded sweatshirt.

"Like you know something that I don't." May looked at her hard but Dawn pretended not to notice. The brunette looked back at the game seeing that the game was winding down since it was almost over.

Dawn excused herself to use the restroom and left May and Misty with the blanket on the bleachers. She took her time, taking longer than necessary in the bathroom. May was getting suspicious and Dawn couldn't lie to her. She made sure that her hair looked fine in the mirror before exiting the bathroom and making her way back over to her friends.

The game was over and the players were grouped together in the middle of the field. Paul had played great tonight and she was proud to wear his jersey. Dawn met up with her friends at the rope just as they went under.

Dawn made sure May stayed close to her as they made their way through the crowd of players. Misty had already stepped away to look for Ash and Dawn spotted Paul's tall form close by. Her brother was next to him.

Paul smirked when he saw her coming. His dark eyes tracing her form and lingering on his numbered jersey that she wore. She watched him, a blush coloring her cheeks when he met her eyes again. The look in his eyes made heat prickle her skin.

She didn't stop walking, giggling a little when he picked her up with his gloved hands. Dawn braced herself against his chest, fingers pushing into his chest pads that made him look buffer then his was. Her hair fell down to brush his cheeks and he set her back down on her toes.

"Where's my congratulating hug sister?" Her brother's words were the only warning before her picked her up and whirled her around in a circle.

"Drew! Stop!" She was laughing when he set her back down, he wasn't even offended when she smacked his arm.

"Whatever." He nodded towards the school and started walking, catching May under his arm as he passed. Dawn smiled as the brunette girl wiggled out from under his arm with a blush covering her cheeks.

"Make sure he doesn't chicken out in the locker room." She fell in step with Paul as they followed the couple towards the school. Paul sighed.

"Nah, he'll do it. You still riding back with me then?" Paul asked. Their arms brushed as they walked, almost to the school.

"Yep! Now hurry up, you don't want to miss it." Dawn winked and Paul smirked before heading into the locker room.

Dawn joined May as she leaned against the school building next to the doors to the locker rooms. The blunette had to take out her phone, pretending to be interested in social media while they waited. May hummed as she rocked back and forth on her heels.

The locker door opened again and Dawn looked over as the red door opened. Paul came out wearing his jeans from school earlier and his dark jacket to ward off the cold. His damp hair hung low from his shower. The door shut close once again.

"Hayden will be out in a minute." Paul said as he adjusted his duffel bag on his shoulder, moving to stand next to her. Dawn smiled and glanced at May for a moment, but the locker door opened again.

"May." The brunette girl looked up at the calling of her name. Drew came out of the locker room, letting the door shut behind him. Dawn put her hand on Paul's bicep in nervousness.

May looked stunned. She looked at the bouquet of flowers held in Drew's hand. He dropped his duffel bag to the ground and shuffled the bouquet between his hands. Dawn almost bit her lip, but Paul's comforting presence soothed her. Why was she so nervous? She loved both of them so much. May was her best girl friend. Drew was not only her brother but her best friend.

"May, will you be my girlfriend?" Drew's normally confident voice was shaking a little. May blinked, dumbfounded for a moment.

A squeal sounded out as May jumped into Drew's arms, wrapping her legs around his waist. He stumbled back with the sudden weight and fell on the grass with May on top of him. He looked stricken, bouquet of roses still clenched in one hand as he laid sprawled out in the grass.

A flash of a camera took their attention. Dawn tried hard not to smile but she couldn't help it. Her phone was in her hand, still poised from when she snapped a picture of the two. Drew blinked for a moment, but May jumped up.

"Dawn! You brat! You were behind this!" The brunette jumped up, smiling despite her threatening words and ran at the other girl. Dawn let out a huff as her friend wrapped her arms around the shorter girl's shoulders.

"It was Drew's idea! I just helped out!" Dawn giggled at her friend as she was let go. May turned back around, marching back towards the green-haired male who had pulled himself from the ground.

"Can't believe he finally did it." Dawn said, and Paul wrapped his arm around her shoulders. She leaned into the warm weight.

"Come on, we'll leave them alone." Paul said and dropped his arm from her shoulders, taking her hand instead as he lead her across the grass towards the parking lot. She already told her brother beforehand that she would have Paul take her home instead, so he wouldn't have to worry about her.

…..

…..

Dawn smiled at she woke up the next morning. She really couldn't help it though. She finally got her brother and May to date, not to mention she had a fine looking boyfriend for herself who had a night off this weekend.

She got off and got dressed in slim fitting running pants that went down to her ankles and a warm sweatshirt to go running in. She opened her bedroom door and walked down the hallway to her brother's room. She knocked first before opening the door.

Drew was already awake, still laying on his bed in his sweatpants and flipping through the channels on the TV in his bedroom. He looked over when she entered his room, looking at her clothes.
"Want to come on a run with me this morning?" She asked, working on gathering her long hair to put into a ponytail.

"Sure, I'll be down in a minute." Her brother turned off the TV and got off the bed. She finished tying her hair up into a ponytail and left Drew's room to give him some privacy to change. She jogged down the stairs, stopping by the garage door to pull on her running shoes.

Drew joined her a minute later, wearing long athletic shorts that went down to his knees and a sweatshirt. He grabbed his tennis shoes and sat on the bottom step of the stairs to put them on. Dawn finished putting on her shoes and Drew finished a moment later, opening the garage door to let themselves into the garage.

The two went around the neighborhood side by side. Drew kept the pace slow, his muscles still a little strained from the football game the previous night. Dawn didn't mind, fine with going on an easy Saturday morning jog.

…..

….

Dawn pulled open the door to the house, kicking off her tennis shoes in the garage to leave them for later. Drew whined a little when one of her shoes hit his leg, but she didn't pay him any mind. She was more concerned that her father was standing right at the bottom of the stairs.

"Hey kids." Their father greeted the two, looking over at their forms at they entered the house and Drew closed the garage door behind him. Dawn put her hands in the pocket of her sweatshirt, clenching her fingers together. She hadn't really seen her father except for family dinners for the past few weeks.

"Hey Dad." They both greeted. Their dad looked at him for a moment.

"Dawn, I've been wanting to talk to you." John Hayden looked at his daughter.

"Sure, I'll just go change first." Dawn said and looked up at him. Her brother was just as tall as him now.

"Take your time, I'll be in my office." The older green-haired man walked down the hallway to their left to his office.

Dawn watched him until he stepped into his office. She started up the stairs with Drew on her heels. She knew that he was right behind her because she could feel his breath on her neck. Drew was someone she could talk to about anything and she turned around to face him once she reached the top of the stairs.

"Drew, I'm going to talk to Dad alone okay?" Her brother looked hesitant. He was always looking out for her, even when she lived in a different country across the ocean. He ran a hand through his thick brightly colored hair

"Yeah okay. I just want you to know that I always have your back okay?" Drew ruffled her hair, making it fall out of her ponytail. She batted his hands away.

"Okay. I love you." She wrapped her arms around him, pressing her check against the fabric covering his chest. He returned the embrace, his lips touching the top of her head in a familiar manner.

"You know I love you too. I'll be in my room if you need to talk." Drew let her go, going into his bedroom while she continued down the hallway towards her own room. She walked into her already half-opened door.

...

…..

She let herself into her father's office. It was the same as it always was. One wall covered from floor to ceiling with shelves filled with books. Her father's grand desk in front with several leather chairs on the other side. The opposite wall from the door had large windows that looked out onto the back lawn.

Dawn was surprised to see Rose in the office as well. The petite woman stood at her father's side as they looked over documents on the desk. Her father pushed away the papers for later when she entered.

"Dawn that was pretty quick." Her father commented but Dawn just took a seat in one the leather chairs. Her father leaned up against his desk with his elbows on the top. Rose held her hands together in front of herself while she stood behind her husband's chair.

"Dad." Dawn decided that she didn't want to wait and took the chance to say her piece first.

"Dad I'm sorry that I accused you of cheating on Rose." Her fingers played with the edges of her sweatshirt. She met her father's eyes for a moment, then looked over to Rose.

"I understand that you were scared Dawn." Her father's voice came next, filling the quiet of the office. Dawn let her eyes wonder back to her father when he spoke.

"I was scared, but you said things that really hurt me." Her father ran his hands through his hair, just like Drew did. Dawn swallowed hard, her throat felt tight.

"I'm sorry Dawn. I was really upset that you went to your brother instead of coming to me first." She wasn't sorry about that though, she was much closer to her brother then her father.

"Look, I know that you're mad at me and you have every right to be. I know that I haven't been a great father to you. I barely even got to see you grow up Dawn. Please understand that I'm not used to having my baby girl so close." Dawn bit her lip to keep her eyes from getting watery. It was true, her father lived in a different country from her until a couple months ago.

"Dad, can we just move on? I don't want to fight with you anymore." She hoped that her father couldn't her voice shake. Her fingers played with the bracelet around her wrist, the one that used to belong to her mother. The silver was warm to her skin.

It was Rose that stepped forward around the desk. Dawn looked at her, surprised on her face just as it was on her father's own. The woman gave Dawn a simple smile and wrapped her arms around the younger girl. The blunette felt tears trace down her cheeks, gripping the older woman's arms.

"It's okay to cry Dawn." Rose's soothing voice calmed her and Dawn nodded her head. She brushed her cheeks when Rose let her go. Dawn felt like a little girl again, crying.

"Dawn." Her father's voice came from right beside her. She looked up at him, she didn't notice him from the other side of the desk. His hand felt heavy on her shoulder.

"Dawn, I'm sorry." She allowed him to pull her up from the chair into a hug, pressing her close and holding her tight.

Dawn may not have truly forgiven her father, but she knew that he was sorry was what he did.

A little shorter then my normal chapters but that's okay. A lot happened in this chapter and I didn't want to stop at a boring part.

Sorry for the lack of Paul and Dawn in this chapter, there will be more ikarishipping in the next chapter!

Thank you!
