The next morning Link awoke to an empty room. Nirus had left at sunrise, having gone to hunt for his breakfast.

Link yawned and stretched, laying in the bed for a minute and just enjoying the feeling of waking up. Eventually he forced himself out of the warm bed and went to one of the dressers to change.

The Hylian dressed himself in black colored pants, tucked into black leather boots and put on a dark colored shirt. Around his shoulders was a black cape crossed across his collarbone and had a golden circle of metal on his shoulder, hooking the two parts of the fabric into place. His wand was in a black leather wand holder on his side, and his hair refused to be in anything other then its usual messed up style with his normal blue earring in his ear.

Dressed and deciding that he was ready as he was ever going to be, Link began the long walk down to the Great Hall. There were a quiet a few students and teachers that had already gathered and were eating breakfast by then. He sat down in his place at the staff table, the same place that he had sat at the night before, and began piling healthy amounts of food onto his plate.

The Great Hall was nearly filled with all of the students and faculty by the time he was half way finished. During this moment was when he heard a sudden rustling above him. He looked up to see hundreds of owls of all different breeds flying to different students. To his surprise, Nirus flew to him with a few letters tied to his leg. The owl landed in front of him, and let out a light caw of greeting.

Link sat down his silverware and stroked the head of the Barn Owl, untying the letter as he did so. Nirus helped himself to some of the cut up sausage on Link's plate as the Hylian opened the first letter.

Link,

I have taken the liberty of writing down Harry's class schedule for the rest of the year, as well as a few other things that I believe you should know. I recommend putting these papers in the book I made for you not too long ago. Also, I would like you to be there with me to greet the Beauxbatons and Durmstrang schools. The Headmaster of the Durmstrang used to be a Death Eater. I would like you to watch out for him, which would help if you knew what he looked like. Burn this letter as soon as you can, please. A Good day to you, and a good luck on your first lessons.

Might I suggest you ease your way into creatures from your own country?

Sincerely,
Albus Percival Wolfric Brian Dumbledore

He took out the extra parchment, which held all the information Dumbledore said it would in his letter. He pocketed that and went onto the next one. He arched an eyebrow as he recognized the royal Hyrule seal stamped on the backs of each of the letters.

In fact, they all were stamped. Except one which held the seal of High Princess Midna of Twilight instead. Deciding not to open them yet, he pocketed the letters also as Nirus finished off the sausage he had been eating. Nirus chirped gratefully to Link and then flew off. Link finished his own quickly food before getting up and heading back to the Defense Against The Dark Arts room.

Link noticed the multiple admiring pairs of eyes following him as he left the Hall, and couldn't help but let out a quiet, discreet sigh of annoyance.

He made it back to the classroom and waved his wand to prepare it for his lessons. He flicked his wand again the book Dumbledore had made him flew towards him. He moved through the desks placing themselves in an orderly manner around the room, and grabbed the book as it came to him.

He opened it just as he reached his desk, hearing the door to his classroom begin to open behind him. He pulled out the letter Dumbledore had advised him to burn and calmly held it up slightly in the air by his head. He heard the caw of a familiar owl and the letter was out of his hands a moment later as footsteps walked into the room.

He knew students were piling in behind him, and that they saw the discolored owl grab the letter from his hands and fly to the still open door of his personal room.

" In the fire please Nirus." Link murmured, knowing the bird would hear him.

The owl flew through the opened door, which closed itself behind him, locking the door as well. He could feel the students already in the classroom standing around, a little unsure of what to do.

" Take a seat." Link said clearly without turning around.

He opened the book in his hands and took out the other letters, and placed them between a random set of pages. He closed the book with a single hand as he finally turned around to look at the group of now sitting students waiting for him to begin, their books out and open on the desks before them.

" Put your books away." Link said calmly as he glanced down, sitting his private book on his desk. He heard the shuffling of the books as they were closed and stuffed back into bags and he turned to look up at them once they were finished.

" Anyone want to know why I told you to put your books away?" Link asked.

The students all looked at themselves unsure until one raised his hand. Link motioned the student as he walked around in front of his desk.

" We're doing something not in the books today?" The student guessed.

" Because they are incomplete." Link answered, leaning on the front of the desk with his arms crossed.

" Incomplete? We spent good money for complete books." One of the Weasley twins said loudly as they were close to the back of the room. The classroom tried not to giggle, almost all of them failing to do so.

" Let me rephrase then Mr. Weasley." Link said with an arched eyebrow.

The class room immediately hushed as the Hylian told them," The books you have in your bags about Unicorns, Pixies, and so on are not the only monsters out there. In fact there are more that some of you will never see or hear of in your lifetime. There are some that you'll hope you never do, and some you wish you hope you never meet. There are creatures and monsters that are hideous but can be friendly, and beautiful creatures who are as deadly and cunning as a snake. Your book, only holds information on half of them, but by the end of this year, you will know more then a simple book could ever teach you."

One person raised her hand. Link arched an eyebrow to her.

" You seem pretty young for teaching students." She stated.

" To most I am indeed. However my knowledge of defense, attack, of friend and foe is the only reason I am not lying around somewhere dead and why I am here instead, teaching all of you." Link told them taking out his wand.

He pointed it to an area next to him in front of the desks. What appeared to be dust swirled around the bottom of the cleared space and rose to make a Bulbin from Hyrule. There were murmurs everywhere.

" One of the many monsters that are not in your books. This is called a Bulbin. Usually they are swordsmen, but there are also archers. Archers, that unless you know how to block, always hit their mark." Link spoke.

He tapped the Bulbin's sand head and it pulled out its bow and arrow, aimed, and fired.

The arrow hit a piece of paper that had been silently passed around between a few students. The paper was pinned to the middle of the desk.

There was absolute silence after the arrow hit, the student's eyes wide. Link pointed his wand at the paper, which exploded into flames, before vanishing in a puff of green.

" They can be killed by almost any spell, as long as they don't kill you first. They attack in hordes and will kill you if you give them the chance." Link said, standing up.

He walked towards the back of the class as he waved his wand at the Bulbin again, and created a Shadow Beast. There were a few murmurs of wow as they looked at the slowly rotating image.

" Shadow Beasts. Their touch will not only kill you, but you'll be turned into a spirit. No one will be able to see you, touch you, or hear you and likewise for you to them. Those not touched by a beast will see you as a floating ball of light. How, then, do you kill them? Any suggestions?" Link asked.

A few raised their hands.

The classes continued in a similar manner on for the next three days.

Over that time Link had become a well-known and liked teacher. He heard the students talking about his classes ever since his first one, from his strong hearing of course, and Link couldn't help but feel slightly proud that the students liked his classes so much.

Apparently, they liked learning about the new types monsters and the apparitions he created in class. Link also had to admit that making the apparitions fire arrows at the students (in a non-lethal manner of course) or breaking things was also a big factor they enjoyed as well.

As for the letters from Hyrule, he still hadn't opened them yet. It is not that he hasn't had the time; it's just that he's not sure if the letters themselves would be good or bad. His leaving was rather abrupt, and only the two Princesses really knew why he left.

Anyways, this class was special, as he would be having Harry, Ron, and Hermione in his class for the first time.

Link was leaning against the front of his desk as usual, in the black cloak outfit from the very first class; looking over the book Dumbledore had given him.

The students entered and started to sit, bringing out books, as all the other classes had.

" You won't need your books. Please put them away." Link said without looking up. He heard the hesitation in their movements before more shuffling as the books were put away.

Link snapped the book close and sat it on the desk next to him as he leaned back further against the desk, crossing his arms. The Hylian gazed over the students. All Gryffindor. His eyes landed on one of them.

" Mr. Longbottom, will you be the first of all of my classes to tell me why I told you to put your books away?" Link asked. Most eyes turned to Neville, who seemed uncomfortable.

" W-We're learning something not in the book P-Professor?" he guessed.

" Close, but not I'm afraid. Ms. Brown. Care to guess?" Link asked the brown-headed girl who was showing something to Parvati under the desk. She looked up, and glanced at Parvati who shrugged slightly.

" I didn't hear Professor." She stammered.

" I guess not with the importance of sharing and speaking with Ms. Parvati during class. Ms. Granger. Surely someone who is, as I hear, one of the brightest young witch's of her age would know. Why do you not use certain books?" Link asked.

Hermione glanced at the desk before she sat a little straighter, and looked up to him, and said," It's because the books are either damaged, or don't contain valid information."

" Correct. Two points to Gryffindor. The books you bought don't contain all of the information. It tells you of creatures, where they can be found, their strengths, weaknesses, and how to defeat them," Link said as he got up and walked down the row of desks. He turned around back to the front at the end," However it does not have all monsters and creatures out there. Some creatures are revolting to look at, but might be the only key to surviving, to having an ally. Some creatures are beautiful, but can be deadly or tricky if not dealt with properly."

He waved his wand and an image of a Chilfos appeared, spear and all. There were instant murmurs and whispers.

" This is what is called a Chilfos. Ice creatures, that use snow and ice to their advantage." Link said.

He waved his wand once more, and the Chilfos moved to throw the spear. The spear dug into the wood of the desk right in front of Harry and Ron. All students had jumped, and the spear had dissolved on impact. Link looked back from the front.

" That it their weapon. A spear. And if you'll look back at the Chilfos, it already has another spear. Why could that be?" Link asked. Indeed the image had another spear. Hermione raised her hand.

" Ms. Granger." Link said.

" You said the Chilfos use ice and snow to their advantages and that they are ice beings. If that is the case you would find them in cold area's where snow and ice is about. Their spears are made from the snow and ice, and being magical creatures, I assume it is also magical how they obtain their spears." She answered.

" Very good. Ms. Granger is right. Watch. When they throw the spear, look at the ground there." Link said as the Chilfos threw the spear again. This time in landed on Neville's desk. The students managed to look at the ground just in time to see another spear shoot up from the fake snow ground, which the Chilfos caught easily.

" As you can see as long as it is with snow or ice, its weapons are infinitive. However hand-to-hand combat is not a good way to fight them for they are skilled using a spear in it as well. Unless you are very good at hand-to-hand combat, I don't suggest attacking them with it. So, what do you do? It can throw far, and defeat you hand to hand, what else? That, students, is what magic is for. With the use of strategy and magic you can defeat just about anything." Link said.

The rest of the classes went on like this until the day was over.

At the end of the day Link sat at his office desk in his room, not yet having anything to grade because he did not give give out assignments yet. There was a coo at the window suddenly, and he looked. Nirus and a familiar Snowy White Owl were hovering there, just beyond the glass.

Link waved his wand and the window opened, allowing the two owls to glide in. Hedwig apparently had been cornered by Nirus, and knowing that the Barn Owl could easily take her down, she followed despite her wishes. The Snowy White had a grimy looking letter tied to her leg, and was glaring at Link and Nirus as she landed regally on his desk.

Link looked at the letter with interest before looking at the owl." May I?" he asked. Hedwig's glare seemed to increase drastically in response. Nirus hooted. Slowly and reluctantly, Hedwig lifted up her leg to Link.

" I will tie it back on after." Link promised as he untied the letter. He opened it and scanned the contents. It seemed to be a hurriedly written letter, but the Hylian could guess who it was from almost immediately. Sirius.

Harry

I'm flying north immediately. This news about your scar is the latest in a series of strange rumors that have reached me here. If it hurts again, go straight to Dumbledore-they're saying he's got Mad-Eye out of retirement, which means he's reading the signs, even if no one else it.

I'll be in touch soon. My best to Ron and Hermione. Keep your eyes open, Harry.

Sirius

Link looked over the letter again. If Sirius was coming here, it only meant an easier way to collect information from the outside. He re-tied the letter to Hedwig, having memorized the letter already.

" Hedwig, I need your help. When Harry writes a letter back to Sirius, I need you to come to me first. I will have a letter for him too, but you cannot alert Harry, and you'll need to make sure Sirius isn't telling him anything about my letter in his to Harry either. I know we're not on very good terms at this moment, but I'm trying to protect Harry, and if that means asking for help from his Godfather on the run who's coming here, I'm more then happy to meet him." Link requested.

Hedwig seemed to look at him through narrowed and suspicious eyes before Nirus cooed something again. She glanced at the Barn Owl then back to Link, and seemed to reluctantly too. She flew up and landed on his shoulder and the Hero felt her Snowy White feathers brush lightly against his cheek, before she flew off back through the window.

" I'll take that as a yes." Link muttered before he sat down and pulled out a parchment and quill with ink. He dipped in the quill into the ink well, and began to write.

Dumbledore

A certain relative of Harry's will be coming-don't know when exactly. I hope to use this in an advantage to possibly keep Harry from any dangers that might suddenly appear out of nowhere. When the boy writes back to his relative-I plan on sending a letter to him as well. In secret of course. I plan on doing it with or without your consent, but I thought it best you know.

Sleep well

Link

Link rolled up the letter and tied it to Nirus.

" To Dumbledore." Link murmured.

The Barn Owl seemed to nod before flying out of the window that Hedwig had used. Link waited only for about thirty minutes before Nirus returned with a reply. Link untied the note and opened it.

Link

I'm not going to ask how you figured this out, I'm sure it had to do with a certain Snowy White Owl. Be careful with the boy's relative Link, he is very protective of Harry. Stress that you are here for nothing but to protect the boy. Might I suggest 'skipping' a day of class to meet and discuss? A wonderful chance for Moody if I do say so.

A good night to you as well

Dumbledore

Link read through the letter one more time before throwing the letter into the fire, his mind already coming up with available dates for Moody to teach class.

He took out another parchment. Knowing Harry as much as he did, the boy would write back to Sirius as soon as possible.

Mr. Sirius Black

First of all, Harry does not know of this letter and I would prefer to keep it that way. I am a teacher at Hogwarts. It is too risky to tell you my name over a letter, one that can be easily intercepted. I know you are coming up north, but believe me I have no desire to tell anyone. In fact I think it will help greatly in what Dumbledore hired me to do. I have no reason to hurt Harry, or anyone except those who aim to hurt him and his friends. I hope you will understand that. When you make it here, I wish to speak with you. Dumbledore has told me of your ability to shape-shift into a large black dog. I also have a similar ability. I wish to meet you wherever you can in our two different forms to talk. Once again, I have no desire to reveal your location. You can ask Dumbledore in a letter himself. Send your reply back with Hedwig please, and if you see a black and white Barn Owl, his name is Nirus.

May you hurry swiftly,

A friend

The Hero finished the letter, and wrapped it and sat it on the desk. He stroked his owl a bit before said owl left to deliver the two letters. Then he himself stayed up all night, once more practicing with his sword and shield.
