Superman, wonder woman, and batman outside the meeting room looking at the forest on the lower floor.
"Times like these one feels the very weight of the world on our shoulders." Said wonder woman as Aquaman walked towards them.
"Everyone is here." Said Aquaman they nod and walked in seeing the other league members sitting at a U shaped table with holo-keyboards and screen in front of them. "Our agenda is clear. What's at stake should not be underestimated."
The decisions we make today will reverberate for years to come." Said superman as he sat in his chair.
"And influence whether or not the world will continue to trust the justice league." Said wonder woman as she sat down.
"Let's get started. We have work to do." Said batman as the screen lit up and everyone took a seat.
"Another expansion of the league could generate another exhalation from our enemies. No one wants or needs another injustice league or the light." Said Martian manhunter standing up.
"Point taken, but the option is available to vote no on all candidates. So I nominate Icon." Said superman as an image of Icon came up in the middle of the table.
"Why? Because you suspect Icon to be Kryptonian like you thought captain marvel was?" asked green arrow looking at superman
"You thought I was Kryptonian? Cool." Said captain marvel
"Icon interests me also. As does his protégé rocket. Athena knows we could use more females on the league." Said wonder woman as she brought up an image of rocket.
This also got a positive reaction from hawk women and canary. While the league went into thought.
Mount justice 10:25 EST
Zatanna is season the turkey for the thanksgiving meal later that day. Naruto with Kurama on his shoulder walks in on her.
"Yelsrap, egas. Yramesor dna emyht." Said Zatanna as the spice came to her.
{Dang that makes things easy.} Thought Naruto he heard M'gann and Wally arguing over something. But he saw Zatanna start to sniff. He dashed over there to her putting his hand on her shoulder.
"Hey it alright Zatanna. It ok." Said Naruto as he offer her one of his bandana to wipe her tears with.
"Sorry it just. This is the first thanksgiving without my dad." Said Zatanna as Naruto nods understanding.
"I know how you feel and snice super Jr. decide to leave the coach sit with me for a while M'gann got this and if that don't work well go take out." Said Naruto getting a laugh from Zatanna as they sat on the coach
"It just hard not have him around. I just expect him to walk in and take me back home for dinner and to hug me and tell me it ok." Said Zatanna getting a nod from Naruto as he has some type of black liquid in a glass in his hand.
"Here try this dad always made it for me when I was sad." Naruto said as he hand her the glass.
"This doesn't have any alcohol in it does it?" asked Zatanna as she looks at the glass wary.
Naruto eyes went wide. "What no it just an old family secret who do you think I am speedster" said Naruto
"Hey I not that bad." Said Wally
"I don't know you can't seem to get a girl even if they're right in front of you." Said Kurama
"What not true ladies love me." said Wally
"Yeah love to throw shoes at you and knock you out." Said Naruto as Zatanna had a hand over her mouth trying to hide her laugh and not working.
"Aw forget you." Said Wally getting a laugh from not and Kurama. Zatanna look at Naruto while finish the drink up tasting better than she could describe.
"Hey Naruto I don't hear you talk about your father a lot. Who is he? I mean if you don't want to talk about it ok." Said Zatanna as she saw Naruto smile face turn to a frown before looking at the ground.
"No it ok. It just that he been dead for so long I don't want to think what ifs. I mean my last memory of him is us getting attack and separated. But I tell you because I trust you that much. His name was Jonah hex. The best shoot of the south. He was the most deadliest person people knew but he was the nice person I knew." Said Naruto smiling at the memory
"I think I heard the name. One of the best shoots kind of like his own Jessie James." Said Zatanna getting a laugh from Naruto
"Yeah he was like that, but I will always remember the last thanksgiving we had. We didn't have turkey as they weren't on Themyscria so we went boar hunting. It was the first time I used that rifle I always carry. I remember him helping me line up the shot and telling me to get ready for the kick, but I didn't quite get my feet set so when the kick happen it knock me right on my ass. I remember look at the sky and dad was more worry I was ok then if I hit the boar." Said Naruto laughing at the memory
"He sound like a good father." Said Zatanna
"He was, but hey what is it you and Artemis were doing on Themyscria? I ask my sister but she just smile and told me to ask you guys." Said Naruto as Zatanna blush in embarrassment
"Well you see um that was just girl stuff." Said Zatanna cause Naruto to raise an eyebrow
"Girl stuff?" asked Naruto getting a nod from Zatanna
"Yeah you know regular girl stuff." Said Zatanna
"From a bunch amazon who hate men, and would rather fight then get their hair done those girls?" asked Naruto
"Yep can I get some more of this." said Zatanna hold the empty glass to Naruto
"yeah I get right on that." Said Naruto Taking the glass and heading to his room.
Zatanna sighed rubbing her bruised ribs from the other day with her and Artemis.
Themyscria flashback
Diana had asked Zatanna and Artemis to come with her to her and Naruto Home Island. Zatanna and Artemis didn't know why Diana wanted them to come. Diana landed her jet down as she walked out of the jet follow by Artemis and Zatanna. They walked behind Diana as she head for the place.
"Zatanna what Diana say to you to make you come?" asked Artemis
"Something about Naruto." Said Zatanna getting wide eyes from Artemis
"That the same thing she said to me." said Artemis
"Mother" said Diana as she bowed to her mother along with Zatanna and Artemis
"Ah Diana are these the two you and Naruto have talk about?" asked Hippolyta
"These are them." Said Diana
"Good guard you may leave us." Said Hippolyta as the guards left her, Diana, Artemis, and Zatanna alone in the throne room.
"So which of you is my son protégé?" asked Hippolyta
"I am my name is Artemis your majesty." Said Artemis
"Good now snice you are learning from him I believe he gave you a blade but the rest of your weapons aren't up to our state so go find ironically Artemis she will give you amazon proper weapons so you can learn a little better." Said Hippolyta
"Thank you your majesty for the help." Said Artemis wondering if she should go or not.
"You can stay Diana will be showing you both to her in a second. Now what is you name my dear." Said Hippolyta look at Zatanna
"I am Zatanna you majesty.' Said Zatanna
"Zatanna so you are the one that holds my son heart." Said Hippolyta
"w-what no I mean um yeah he cute and helpful and has strong arm that make you feel safe. Ok maybe I have a little crush." Said Zatanna as everyone looked at her and she blushed
"A little you two are the center of each other attention they not stop the goggle eyes you two make at each other." Said Artemis causing Zatanna to blush more
"Good now in old times before Themyscria was separated from the main land. Man came to try to take amazon away prove they were worthy of as you say today dating. They would fight one of the family member of the amazon, but snice I know you don't really on you fight techniques so you will train with Diana before the time comes for you to date my son. Now you will have to fight me so when you are prepare please come to me." said Hippolyta with a sickly sweet smile on her face that sent chills down Zatanna spine.
{Talk about over protective family. Glad I'm not you Zatanna.} Thought Artemis
"Good let go please follow Me." said Diana
Flashback end
Zatanna had bruised rib as Diana in no other way to put it got her ass kick Diana didn't hold back no punch Zatanna just surprise that she learn anything besides how much she really on her magic.
Meanwhile as Zatanna thought back to the overprotective family Naruto has. Said boy was tearing apart a section of his room that had item that look like chemicals throw the glass everywhere.
"Kit calm down." Said Kurama
"Calm down that drink should have taken the poison right out of Zatanna yet she still has the poison out of her but it still there. We even add your chakra to it yet it still there. What the hell is this poison?" asked Naruto
"I don't know kit. This is Ra's he may have suspect it I think you going to have to go." said Kurama
"I know I just don't want her involve in this." said Naruto with a sigh
"I know kit." Said Kurama
Watchtower
"Seriously? The atom? How useful can he be at that size?" asked captain marvel looking at the image of the atom
"It's his size that makes him useful. And the league could use more raw power. And earth has a third green lantern. Guy Gardner." Said the flash bring up an image of Gardner
"No!" shouted Hal and john
"But we really." Said flash until he was interrupted again by them both
"No!" they shouted
"Ok if you are considering power flash what of blue devil. I mean he has a nice scary look to him to so it could work." Said captain marvel
"Ok if we're considering blue devil then I nominate red arrow. Roy has more experience and he's not a kid anymore he's eighteen, a legal adult." Said green arrow
"It an interesting choice arrow but what message does it give the team. So what about them." Said Aquaman
"No. red arrow may be eighteen, but the rest of the team are too young." Said superman as image of kid flash and aqualad
Marvel glance at dr. fate seeing his approval for them.
"What about Zatanna?" asked wonder woman as she brought up an image of Zatanna
"Absolutely not!" dr. fate yelled getting a smirk from wonder woman
{Seem you do have feeling for her. She did also take a beating with no complaining.} Thought wonder woman
"Protective doctor. I think we now know Zatara's still in there." Said wonder woman
"Why is Dr. Fate a member? He coerced Zatara to give up his life, or have his daughter lose hers not cool." Said captain marvel as he step up and looked at fate.
"Should such actions be condoned?" asked red tornado as he brought an image of dr. fate up.
"Zatara desires dr. fate remain in the league." Said dr. fate
"Oh please." Said green arrow
"No. it is true. Zatara's trust in Nabu is measured. He desires the league maintain a close watch on us." Said dr. fate
"Now that. That's done let us move on with another plastic man." said batman as he brought an image of plastic man up
Marvel snickered as the other talked about the former criminal turn hero before marvel just started to die of laughter.
"I'm sorry. He just cracks me up." Said marvel he then stop laughing when he saw everyone but batman looking at him.
"Maybe it's time to talk about the elephant in the room. Should captain marvel still be in the league? Now that we know he's only ten years old?" asked flash as an image of captain marvel
"He does possess an adult body and the wisdom of Solomon." Said red tornado
"Wisdom does not equal maturity." Said Aquaman
"Hey I'm right here." Said captain marvel
"Then Billy maybe you should sit outside for now?" asked canary as she lead forward and smile
"No. captain marvel is a valid member and is entitled to participate until or if he's voted out." said batman as wonder woman narrowed her eyes.
"It's not just his age. It the fact he lied about it." Said wonder woman
"I didn't lie exactly. I just left out the part about being a kid." Said marvel
"A lie of omission is still a lie. You kept an important secret from us. No one in the league knew the truth." Said wonder woman
"I knew." Said batman as wonder woman looked at him
"I'm not surprised you're ok with it. Since you brought robin into crime fighting at the age of nine." Said wonder woman as an image of robin replaced marvel.
"Robin needed to help bring the men who murdered his family to justice" said batman as wonder woman glared at batman
"So that he can turn out like you?" asked wonder woman
"So that he wouldn't." said batman before an image of amazon hex came up
"Well snice Billy is ok being a member of the league than my brother who doesn't look that old even though he is over a 100 years old." Said wonder woman
"No I don't think that a good idea." Said dr. fate cause wonder woman to growl
"Of course you would disagree. You and him had one of the most deadliest fight I have seen." Said wonder woman
"I have to agree on this one Diana. Now before you get mad let me explain. How much do you actually know about him? I mean we know he was a mercenary and the last time we let one in the league. He became the reason that we left mount justice. "Said Hal
"I know but my brother is nothing like Deathstroke. He probably never meet him, and I trust my brother. Even though he was a mercenary. He never shown any sigh of what he did." Said wonder woman as she rubbed the scared below her left collarbone and just above her heart it one days she will never forget.
Flashback mount justice
Deathstroke in his regular attire but the mask was different having both eye slots was walking through mount justice he place two land mines one on the floor outside the control room. And one on the wall beside it. He put his hand on the comma in his ear.
"Batman, green Lateran, Green arrow, and Aquaman I have a problem it appears the joker decide to have some fun in star city I need back up please help Me." said Deathstroke
"Roger that were heading to the hanger. We shall be there as fast as we can hold them off as long as you can." Said green arrow
"Roger hurry." Said Deathstroke as he watch the 4 of them take a javelin and leave.
J'onn watch as he saw Deathstroke send for help but this doesn't make sense he fells Deathstroke in the base not at star city. Before J'onn can contact the ship Deathstroke throws a grenade into the control room cause it to explode. J'onn got knock down from this. Deathstroke put some fire grenade that he made. He set them off cause a wall of fire to surround J'onn making him unable to move as the fire surround him.
Flash hearing the explosion ran towards the control room only to hit the landmine Deathstroke had place earlier. As flash flew through the air he hit the other on the wall causing him to hit the floor and the wall and roof clasp on him.
{Fast man my ass.} Thought Deathstroke leaving both J'onn and flash behind.
Deathstroke had a sniper rifle he is holding by the zeta tubes. He waits the tubes activity bring out superman and wonder woman. They are talking. Deathstroke aims his rifle at wonder woman's head. He then takes the shoot. Before the bullet can hit her. Superman stops the bullet with his hand. But feel something weird he open his hand to seen the bullet is lodge in his hand and in glowing green. Superman is then shoot in the leg and back causing him to fall own before wonder woman catch him. Deathstroke then fire a grenade from a launcher hit them both causing them to fly apart. Death stroke walk past wonder woman straight toward superman. He takes a hand gun out point it at superman head.
"Thanks for letting me in to the league and for tell me all your weakness. Krypton bullets enjoy death." Said Deathstroke point the handgun at superman head before he could pull the trigger a lasso was wrapped around him. "Damn it should have made sure you were down princess."
"Shut up now why are you doing this?" asked wonder woman holding on to the lasso around Deathstroke
"Simple I was paid to kill you lot. I just decide to do it the long way and strike when you weren't expecting it. That the reason princess. By the way catch." Said Deathstroke throwing another grenade at wonder woman causing her to let go of the lasso.
Deathstroke grabbed his sword charging after wonder woman only for her to block with a sword of her own not know or caring where she got it Deathstroke continue to strike against her. They both were equally match in the fight Deathstroke cut her arm but wonder woman hit his chest causing him to fall down. Deathstroke kip up stopping a sword strike that wonder woman was about to hit him with. She then used her superior strength to cause his sword to go in the air. Deathstroke sweep wonder woman legs then parcored up the wall before kicking the handle of his sword in the air cause it to arch and hit wonder woman in the chest just above her uniformed. She started to bleed out of her mouth and down her uniform. The sword handle stuck out the front of her chest. While the back of the sword prevented her from falling back. She on her knee's looking at the floor. Deathstroke landed grabbing the hand gun from earlier.
"I have to admit you gave a good fight I give you a warriors death it what you deserve." Said Deathstroke pointing the gun at her head before he could pull the trigger. A batrang hit the gun beeping before exploding "my eye." Said Deathstroke holding his blooded left eye.
Deathstroke look with his right eye while holding a hand over his left to see batman green arrow green Lateran and Aquaman looking at him.
"That was a good trick almost had us. If bats hadn't relies that the joker found star city too boring to even try his fun.
"I should have use penguin." Said Deathstroke
"Give up Deathstroke this be over quicker if you do." Said green arrow.
"Interesting choice you have either stop me or save you friend J'onn and flash be burn to a crisp soon. Superman has kryptonite in his body, and Diana doesn't have much time left with that sword in her. Choice is yours." Said Deathstroke.
"He right we have to let him go. The other are or concerned right now." Said batman as Deathstroke left mount justice.
"Green arrow and batman check on superman and wonder woman while the other help J'onn and flash. But they agreed to never let something like this happen again.
Flashback end
"I understand that, but I trust my brother." Said wonder woman
"Yes we understand but I think that we have reached the census that eighteen is the minimum, but what about Miss Martian? Though she is of adolescent standards for Martians she was born forty eight earth years ago." said Martian manhunter as an image of Miss Martian
"So what is the deciding factor? Chronologically, or biology? Take superboy for example." Said red tornado as an image of superboy came up
"Exactly. He's barely a year old. Does that mean they need to wait seventeen more before being considered?" asked black canary as superman looked away slight concern.
"No other idea? Asked superman trying to hide the concern he had earlier.
Then were shakes of head around the table as superman, batman, and wonder woman stood in front of the table.
"Then here are the candidates for new and continued membership." Said superman as image of everyone they talked about came up the side of room.
"We've discussed origin, gender, size, experience, age, temperament, and background. But what are the fundamental criteria for league membership?" said batman as the first image came up for voting.
Mount justice
Thanksgiving dinner was almost done as Naruto and Zatanna continued on the coach swapping stories about their fathers. What Naruto didn't see was Zatanna leaning close to Naruto, but she was decide on whether she should do it or not.
"You ok?" asked Naruto looking at Zatanna
"Yeah fine." Said Zatanna {if you cannot give up in a fight against his sister just to think about dating him you can do this.} she thought
"Ok just want to." Said Naruto before Zatanna cut him off with a kiss to the lips Naruto just freezes right there not sure how to react.
Zatanna think that he did want to kiss her. She stop kiss and lean back.
"Sorry that was stupid I just go." Said Zatanna getting up before she could Naruto grabbed her wrist pull her back and giving her a kiss back.
"Well kit now go on a date with her or more if you don't stop kissing her." Said Kurama but that didn't stop them.
They were past the point of just harmless kissing. They were defiantly making out until Wally who saw this as an opportunity for payback took a picture. This cause those both to stop kissing before Naruto looking at Wally decide to get him.
"Excuse me a second may we continue this on a date. I think of it after I finish beating speedster to a bloody puddle." Said Naruto getting up chasing after Wally while Zatanna just put her fingers to her lips. Zatanna then smiled.
