Chapter 23: The Great Invasion – The Destructive Downfall
It was the middle of the afternoon and Team Pikachu relaxed during their last few moments of peace while inside the heliplane. Despite the rampant violence, blazing fire, and dark smoke out in the city below, everyone on the plane somehow managed to experience a little bit of rest. But once the heliplane neared, Team Pikachu mentally prepared themselves for the brutal battles ahead inside Malamar X's giant abode.
"10,000 feet is a high altitude for something this large," Clemont pointed out.
"Forget airship," Brock said, "this thing is like a castle!"
"Wow!" Max marveled.
"It's so huge!" Bonnie also marveled.
"And to think that there are only 3 floors to this thing," Misty said.
"That's quite the fortress Malamar X has," Tracey commented while sketching the airship in his sketchpad.
"I wouldn't be surprised if there are hordes of traps set up to stop us," Looker predicted.
"That's right," Ash agreed. "Clemont, did you think about any possible traps on the airship?"
"I have, and it just so happens that most of the traps fire moves that are reflected by our Magic Bounce devices," Clemont explained. "There are no physically attacking traps, but for the few special attacking traps we'll just have Misty's Corsola and May's Glaceon always out to use Mirror Coat for us."
"Ok," Misty said as she listened in to the conversation, "Corsola, go!"
"Come on out Glaceon," May called out. She was also listening in on their conversation.
"I have to say Ash," May told Ash. "Those were some pretty intense battles in the ruins. It's a good thing your Quilava knew Smokescreen or you would have never battled with Giovanni."
"My Quilava didn't actually know Smokescreen; only Dawn's Quilava knows it," Ash chuckled. "Although I still told Quilava to try using Smokescreen just in case it could."
"Oops," May said sheepishly. "My bad."
Ashlyn and Donovan smiled and had a conversation with each other, but something that happened back in the ruins puzzled Ashlyn.
"That reminds me," Ashlyn asked her husband. "How did that Golduck lock us up in that cage when it was fainted? Didn't we beat it?"
"Being fainted just means it didn't have any energy left to fight," Donovan answered. "It could still use its psychic powers – think about how Pokemon can still use field moves even when their fainted."
As the heliplane finally neared very close, Giovanni steered the ship so that the back door of the heliplane was facing the airship's wide, hangar-like entrance.
"We can't get any closer?" Dawn questioned Giovanni.
"I'm trying, but there seems to be some kind of force field keeping us out," Giovanni answered.
"Look over there!" May shouted pointing to Pokemon in the corners of the airship entrance.
"Two Gardevoir using the move Reflect on us!" Blaziken Mask noticed. "May, let's break their Reflect attack.
"Right," May agreed while opening the door.
"Use Flamethrower on the Reflect!" Blaziken Mask commanded his Blaziken.
"Fire Spin!" May shouted.
The two powerful fire attacks packed just enough of a punch to smash through the Reflect barrier.
"Great, now we can move closer!" Iris cheered.
"Let's go!" Cilan also cheered.
"I'm on it," Giovanni said while steering the heliplane.
Giovanni quickly flew the heliplane backwards while May and Blaziken Mask deflected incoming Shadow Ball attacks with their Blaziken Mask. When the heliplane was finally hovering inside the airship's hangar (1st floor entrance), May, Blaziken Mask, and the rest of Team Pikachu leaped out the back door. Once everyone unboarded the heliplane, Giovanni flew off.
"I wish them the best of luck," Giovanni said to himself as he watched Team Pikachu begin fighting the Pokémon guards. Giovanni then proceeded to fly back down towards the Blackthorn City portal so that he could easily travel to Saffron City.
Commander Announcement
A couple minutes earlier…
"To explain, I would have to tell you about this Malamar," Professor Rowan explained. "The airship Malamar just boarded was hovering high above Blackthorn City before the portals were complete, so we were able to analyze the suspicious aircraft beforehand. With the help of Professor Sycamore's team, we were able to detect amplifiers on the ship and concluded that hypnotic powers would be involved somehow. Thanks to our prior analysis, we were able to track Malamar's hypnotic waves just a few moments ago."
"Yeah," Gary interrupted from inside Professor Rowan's hectic lab. "Instead sending hypnotic waves everywhere, Malamar is channeling his waves through a single hotspot Pokémon that can hypnotize any wild or caught Pokémon in their vicinity! In fact, I'll go warn all of the regional champions right now and let them know."
As Gary ran to his phone, he reconsidered who he should warn.
"I should send this text to more elite trainers than just the champions," Gary realized. "Everyone needs to know this – it would be devastating if some trainers don't find out about this."
Gary just so happened to have a contact list containing contacts of elite trainers from each of the six regions. Using his phone, Gary sent a text to everyone that informed of the regional commanders.
"Attention everyone, we have some new information!" Gary's text read. "Each region has a commander Pokémon that can end all of the fighting if defeated. The Malamar is using a single commander Pokémon to assist in hypnotizing all of the army Pokémon in your region. Defeat the commander and this invasion will be over!"
Kalos Clash
The once gleaming Anistar City was getting more tarnished with each second. Hordes of hypnotized Talonflame and Noivern spewed Fire Blast all over the town. Trevenant and Gourgeist launched Shadow Ball attacks left and right on the streets. Hypnotized Diggersby, Pyroar, and Gogoat fired Hyper Beam at the city's many solar powered apartment complexes.
Fortunately, many strong trainers were out in the city fighting back. They all had plenty of battle experience and were not afraid to defend their city.
"Use Parabolic Charge!" a male trainer commanded his Heliolisk. The trainer managed to eliminate 40 Talonflame in a single minute.
"Blizzard!" a female trainer commanded her Aurorus. There were around 20 Trevenant and Gourgeist on a single street and she managed to take down all of them at once.
"Flamethrower," a mysterious orange-haired man commanded his Pyroar. He managed to defeat many of the Diggersby and Gogoat with ease. Even other Pyroar were easily taken out by the man.
Stationed in front of the bridge leading to the Anistar City's famous sundial were the champion and two of the Elite Four.
"A new message?" Diantha wondered while pulling out her phone.
"Defeat the commander and this invasion will be over!" Gary's text read. "Your commander in Kalos is a shiny Chesnaught."
"Siebold, Malva," Diantha started. "I've just learned that there's a shiny Chesnaught acting as commander of this army. All of these hypnotized Pokemon will be freed if we can defeat this commader."
"Then let's focus on fighting just this Chesnaught," Siebold responded.
"Agreed," the fire type trainer Malva said, "we don't want to do more work than we have to."
"How are we going to find this Chesnaught though?" Diantha wondered.
"I'll use these binoculars to see what I can find from here," Siebold offered.
"But if you can't find the Chesnaught, we're going to have to look and walk around the city," Malva told Siebold.
"Sounds good," Diantha agreed. "By the way, do you know the whereabouts of the other two Elite Four?"
"They must be too far away from Anistar City to be here at this time," Malva concluded.
"I can understand them - I'm normally busy working as a chef," Siebold told the other two. "It was fortunate that I was in the area."
Siebold, Malva, and Diantha scanned the surroundings around them to try to find the Chesnaught for a while but to no avail. After a while, they were just about ready to give up.
"I can't seem to find them anywhere," Siebold sighed.
"But we have definitely found you," a voice called out.
All of a sudden, a shiny Chesnaught, three shiny Greninja, an Aurorus, and a handful of other Pokemon faded into view.
"Thanks for the Camouflage," Chesnaught smirked at a Dragalge in the water.
"There you are!" Malva shouted.
"A Chesnaught that can talk?" Siebold said. "Interesting."
"Indeed, Lord Malamar X taught me how to speak the human language," Chesnaught answered boastfully.
"Do you really think you can stop us?" Diantha asked determinedly.
"Let's do this the easy way," Chesnaught offered with a smirk. "Step aside so that we can enter the sundial."
"Not a chance," Malva responded. "Houndoom, go and use Flamethrower!"
"Use Flame Charge to take them away," Chesnaught commanded 4 Talonflame.
"Blastoise, use Hydro Pump on the Talonflame!" Siebold ordered his Blastoise.
Siebold's Blastoise successfully fainted all 4 Talonflame and they fell to the water underneath the bridge. Unfortunately, the blast generated an incredible amount of steam that prevented Siebold, Malva, and Diantha from seeing anything. And once the steam cleared, they were in for a huge shock!
"Where did they go?!" Diantha shouted.
"Oh no!" Malva cried, looking frantically behind her.
"They got away using the steam!" Siebold grunted with regret. "Return Blastoise, we need to run across this bridge first."
"After them!" Malva ordered her Houndoom. "Use Dark Pulse on them!"
Despite Chesnaught and his guards being Houndoom sped across the bridge and chased after him. But Chesnaught was prepared for the incoming assault.
"Aurorus, use Mirror Coat," Chesnaught commanded his guard.
"Dodge that reflected Dark Pulse!" Malva yelled while running across the bridge.
Houndoom jumped to dodge the Dark Pulse and continued pursuing Chesnaught and his guards. As Houndoom and Malva continued rushing, Chesnaught's three Delphox guards started charging in.
"Hyper Beam!" Chesnaught told his Delphox underlings.
"Quick, roll underneath the Hyper Beams to dodge," Malva responded. "Then use Smog as cover!"
Both Malva and Houndoom were able to maneuver and duck just in time. The Delphox stood there waiting for the smoke to clear, but before they could do that…
"Dark Pulse!" Malva commanded her Houndoom. Three separate blasts were launched at each of the Delphox and they were instantly knocked out. Malva and Houndoom then proceeded to finish running.
After running just 20 feet, Malva and Houndoom made it to the sundial. They encountered Chesnaught who was standing right in front of the sundial.
"Aurorus," Chesnaught grumbled, "push them back with – "
KABOOM!
Blastoise leaped out of the water down below and speedily crashed its body into Aurorus with a mighty Skull Bash. The collision sounded like a powerful bomb detonation when it connected, and it was powerful enough to send the Aurorus several feet away from the bridge and into the water below.
"Good work Blastoise," Siebold said after finally catching up to Malva.
"Everyone go and get them!" Chesnaught hastily commanded all of his guards. Many bird Pokemon started plummeting down from the skies to try and take the two Elite Four Members down. Sea Pokemon such as the Dragalge also leaped from the water below.
"Let's quickly take them all out," Siebold told Malva.
"Right," Malva agreed.
"Hydro Pump full power!" Siebold commanded his Blastoise. "Don't stop pumping until all of the attacking Pokemon are down!"
"Same with you Houndoom!" Malva shouted. "Fire a continuous Dark Pulse beam!"
The hordes of Pokemon were many, but Malva and Siebold's Pokemon were top-notch. Within just 40 seconds, all of Chesnaught's guards had been defeated except for three shiny Greninja.
"Good work," Malva and Siebold told their Pokemon.
"Ice Beam!" Chesnaught ordered his three shiny Greninja guards. Malva and Siebold were
"Use Shadow Ball to block it!" Diantha called out from behind. The Shadow Ball successfully blocked the incoming Ice Beam attacks.
"Let me and Gardevoir handle these Greninja," Diantha assured.
"Alright, let's see what you can do," Chesnaught smirked. "Double Team!"
"There's so many," Malva noticed looking at the vast multitude surrounding them. It was as if shiny Greninja were flooding the bridge – shadow copies appeared from behind Malva, Siebold, and Diantha as well. There were even shiny Greninja copies around the towering huge, pink sundial gem behind Chesnaught!"
"Now use Shadow Sneak!" Chesnaught told his Greninja legion.
"You know how it's done," Diantha smiled. "Shadow Ball."
After the flurry of attack finished and the smoke cleared, all three shiny Greninja were on the floor fainted.
"How did you do that?" Malva marveled.
"Let's just say that we've trained and battled a lot," Diantha answered. "Besides, those Greninja must have had the Protean ability and changed into the Ghost type before Shadow Sneaking – that type change made them even weaker to my Shadow Ball."
"As expected of the Kalos Champion," Chesnaught, who was now all alone, commended. "But do you think you have what it takes to beat me?"
"Do you really want to find out?" Diantha smirked back.
"We haven't even used half of our power yet," Malva boldly declared. "Houndoom, Mega Evolve!"
Chesnaught witnessed Houndoom Mega Evolve, but he was completely unphazed.
"Ah, Mega Evolution," Chesnaught laughed. "And I see you've already tried to set up a Smog attack on me."
Malva's Houndoom vs Commander Chesnaught
"Dark Pulse!" Malva commanded her Houndoom.
Mega Houndoom emerged from the smoke and ferociously fired its Dark Pulse at Chesnaught. Unfortunately, it couldn't even put a dent on Chesnaught's hard body.
"Now take this Dynamic Punch!" Chesnaught retaliated with high speed. Houndoom could not dodge in time and was utterly pulverized by Chesnaught's fist.
"So fast for such a bulky Pokemon," Siebold murmured.
"Houndoom, you okay?" Malva asked with concern.
"Moves like Dark Pulse aren't going to do a thing to me," Chesnaught smirked.
"Now use Flamethrower!" Malva shouted.
But just as Mega Houndoom opened its mouth, a powerful explosion emerged from all around Mega Houndoom's body. The smoke cleared and revealed a fainted Houndoom completely unable to battle.
"Return Houndoom," Malva grunted. "What was that?!"
"Powder," Chesnaught answered. "With that move I can make any Fire-type attack completely useless."
"Guess that means I shouldn't risk my other Pokemon," Malva thought to herself.
Siebold's Blastoise vs Commander Chesnaught
"Now it's my turn," Siebold affirmed, "Blastoise, Mega Evolve!"
After Blastoise mega evolved, Siebold realized that those two moves did not fit Chesnaught at all.
"Dynamic Punch and Powder," Siebold pointed out, "ordinary Chesnaught can't learn those moves."
"But I am no ordinary Chesnaught," Chesnaught explained, "I am the strongest Chesnaught in the world! My master Malamar X just so happens to have the ability to teach nearly any Pokemon move!"
"I see," Siebold said back. "A most worthy opponent. But how come your master didn't teach you one-hit knockout moves like Guillotine?"
"Those moves are reserved for Malamar X alone as a last resort," the shiny Chesnaught answered. "And besides, those moves have low accuracy and fail when the opponent is a higher level."
"Guess that means you're going to fight me the hard way then," Siebold concluded. "Blastoise, mega evolve!"
After Blastoise, mega evolved to Mega Blastoise, Siebold made the first move.
"Let's see if you can handle this," Siebold started. "Blastoise, use Dragon Pulse!"
The mighty Dragon Pulse attack had tremendous power and it was even more powerful with the boost from Mega Blastoise's Mega Launcher. Unfortunately, the shiny Chesnaught stood there and took the hit completely unphazed!
"Moves like that won't have any effect on me," Chesnaught smirked while extending both of his arms towards Blastoise. "Now take this Bullet Seed Bomb attack!"
"He's combining Bullet Seed with Seed Bomb?!" Siebold said in shock. "Duck in your shell Blastoise!"
Chesnaught rapidly fired a barrage of Bullet Seed Bomb using his machine gun-like arms. Blastoise's tough shell protected it from the barrage, but eventually the power was too much to handle and Blastoise was blasted backwards.
"Blastoise, get up and use Power-Up Punch!" Siebold commanded.
Mega Blastoise ran in and landed a direct hit with its Power-Up Punch. Chesnaught, however, simply stood there and took the attack.
"Yes, it hit!" Siebold celebrated.
"You call that a hit?" Chesnaught laughed. "This is a hit!"
Chesnaught rushed behind Mega Blastoise and used a powerful Wood Hammer attack. Blastoise's shell was pounded into the ground, but fortunately Mega Blastoise's head was tucked in to prepare for a counterattack.
"Skull Bash!" Siebold commanded his Blastoise.
"Take this," Chesnaught casually responded.
Blastoise was knocked back and took massive damage! The shiny Chesnaught, on the other hand was completely unharmed.
"What…what move was that?" Siebold wondered.
"You couldn't see me because I was too fast," Chesnaught explained. "I used Spiky Shield – it protects me from your physical attacks and gives some damage back to you! Now to finish you with Solarbeam!"
Chesnaught began charging up Solarbeam and aimed at Mega Blastoise as if he had arm cannons. Siebold saw this as his chance.
"Solarbeam is a two-turn attack," Siebold noticed. "Let's take advantage – use Hydro Pump at Chesnaught's legs to make them slippery and use Dragon Pulse to knock away the Solarbeam charging!"
"Blastoise quickly used its attacks, but they were not enough to harm Chesnaught.
"I told you, moves like that will have no effect on me," Chesnaught responded. "Now, Solarbeam fire!"
"Try to run!" Siebold told his Mega Blastoise.
But it was too late – the overwhelmingly powerful Solarbeam attack blasted through at an undodgeable speed. Mega Blastoise reverted back to its normal form – it had been utterly defeated.
"Good job – I'm impressed," Siebold told Chesnaught with good sportsmanship. On the inside, however, Siebold was beginning to worry.
"I hope Diantha can stop him," Siebold thought to himself. "There's no way I'm sending any of my other Pokemon – they won't be able to stop this thing."
Vs Diantha
"Last but not least," Chesnaught declared, "I'm going to crush you, Kalos Champion Diantha.
"Gardevoir, mega evolve!" Diantha shouted. She did not leave any room for talking and went straight to the battle.
After Gardevoir mega evolved, Chesnaught decided to make the first move.
"Take this Bullet Seed Bomb!" Chesnaught began.
"Gardevoir, dodge them all and rush in to use a Shadow Ball barrage!" Diantha commanded.
Mega Gardevoir moved at a blistering speed that Chesnaught could not keep up with.
"I can't hit her!" Chesnaught grumbled. "That Mega Gardevoir is fast!"
However, the Shadow Ball attacks did not do a thing to Chesnaught's hard body.
"See that?" Chesnaught laughed. "I'm basically invulnerable – there's no way that you can win. Now take my Dynamic Punch!"
"Dodge it!" Diantha told her Mega Gardevoir.
"Now time to charge Solarbeam!" Chesnaught declared.
"Knock that charging beam away with Moonblast!" Diantha yelled.
Mega Gardevoir's Moonblast attack completely shut down Chesnaught's Solarbeam attempt. The Moonblast ball of energy knocked the charging Solarbeam energy right out of Chesnaught's arms!
"How dare you?!" Chesnaught yelled angrily. "That's it – time for my trump card! Take this Grass Pledge and Fire Pledge combo!"
"Pledge moves?" Diantha wondered. "Dodge it!"
But she couldn't. The Fire Pledge surrounded Mega Gardevoir with flame pillars and the Grass Pledge surrounded and circled Mega Gardevoir with leaf pillars – two sets of pillars at once was just too much. After trapping Mega Gardevoir, the Fire Grass Pledge pillars came together in the center to deal massive damage!
"No!" Diantha cried.
"Fire Pledge does double the damage when used with Grass or Water pledge – it becomes more powerful than a Hyper Beam!" Chesnaught explained. "And it becomes very hard to escape - now eat this Meteor Mash!"
Chesnaught ran up to Mega Gardevoir (who was still inside the condensed pillar taking damage from the Fire Grass Pledge) and pulverized her with one mighty metallic punch. The super effective physical blow instantly knocked out Mega Gardevoir!
"Gardevoir, good job," Diantha said while returning her Pokemon. "That fire plus grass move was just too much damage and trapping."
"And that's not all Fire Pledge plus Grass Pledge does," Chesnaught said.
"No," Diantha realized in despair.
A sea of fire completely engulfed the area surrounding Diantha, Siebold, and Malva!
Chesnaught leaped into the air using Magnet Rise and floated into the air.
"You can fly?!" Siebold gasped in shock.
"If that's not the world's strongest Chesnaught then I don't know what is," Malva sighed.
"I've mastered to move Magnet Rise so that I can fly like levitating Pokemon," Chesnaught told Siebold while looking down at him from above. "But alas, there's no hope left at all for you weaklings. Fire Pledge combined with Grass Pledge also creates a treacherous sea of fire that damages anyone that tries to escape.
"Darn," Diantha grumbled.
"Wait," Siebold asked Chesnaught, "what did you mean by 'moves like that won't affect me'?"
"You see, my special ability is Bulletproof," Chesnaught explained. "Bulletproof is ability that makes me completely immune to ball, bomb, and cannon moves."
"That's why Shadow Ball didn't work," Diantha realized.
"Yes," Chesnaught continued, "but my Bulletproof ability is no ordinary one. Unlike other Bulletproof Pokemon of the Chesnaught evolutionary line, my ability has been upgraded to block all the pulse moves boosted by the ability Mega Launcher!"
"No way!" Diantha said in shock.
"No wonder Dragon Pulse didn't do a thing," Siebold thought to himself.
"And that's why my Dark Pulse wouldn't work," Malva realized.
"But what about Hydro Pump and Power-Up Punch?" Siebold wondered.
"Even if one of your moves hit, my massive defenses can effortlessly tank anything you throw at me," Chesnaught boasted. "And I haven't even shown all of my moves yet!"
"This is crazy," Malva said, "this Chesnaught is just too strong."
"Just give up and accept your defeat," Chesnaught suggested. "Master Malamar will rule over this world before you know it!"
"This intense fire," Diantha said as she looked around them. "It's getting too hot – Siebold, see if you can put it out."
"Right," Siebold agreed, "Clawitzer, use Water Pulse!"
Clawitzer tried putting the flames out with all its might, but the sea of fire remained unaffected.
"Uh-oh," Malva said.
"This is bad," Siebold responded.
"This sea of fire will last for several turns," Chesnaught told them. "For now, there's no way you can escape!"
"We have to inform the laboratory in Sinnoh," Siebold told Diantha.
"I'm on it," Diantha said while pulling out her phone. She texted Gary back and told him, "We've been defeated by the Chesnaught commander and are currently trapped in a sea of fire – we need help!"
Chesnaught hovered and floated above the sundial and watched as his Pokemon armies started advancing west and southeast.
"Even though it's really Malamar who is keeping these Pokemon hypnotized, I'm glad he gave me the privilege of giving orders here in Kalos. Now all I have to do is guard the sundial and advance our army to Dedennemille Town!" Chesnaught laughed.
Unova Undertaking
Meanwhile in Unova, Nimbasa City was fighting off struggles of its own. Hypnotized Krokorok and Sandile emerged from the deserts in the south – they utterly destroyed, ripped up, and teared apart everything in the sports venues. The once jolly fun houses and amusement attractions became dismal with the rampant Heatmor spitting Flamethrower, Beartic unleashing Icicle Crash, and Seismitoad launching Sludge Bomb. Hypnotized Swanna, Mandibuzz, Swoobat, Braviary, and Unfezant wrecked the city's many buildings from the sky using Hyper Beam. Garbodor, Scrafty, Escavalier, Druddigon, Gigalith, Amoonguss, and Liepard marched down the streets and subway tunnels and also used Hyper Beam to show their superiority. But perhaps the most saddening savagery of all was the Cofagrigus tearing off the doors of Nimbasa City's ferris wheel and threatening the parents and children trapped inside.
Fortunately, Nimbasa City's gym leader Elesa arrived just in time to save those in the ferris wheel!
"Emolga, use Electro Ball!" Elesa called out.
The many Electro Ball attacks knocked down many of the Cofagrigus out of the sky.
"Zebstrika, use Discharge!" a trainer next to Elesa commanded. The Discharge also knocked down many of the Cofagrigus looming in the skies.
"Don't worry," Elesa shouted to the passengers trapped in the ferris wheel, "I'm getting you all out now." She then told her gym trainers to protect the ferris wheel as she worked to get everyone out.
There were also many strong Unova trainers helping to fend off the invasion.
"Galvantula, use Discharge!" a female trainer commanded. Her two Galvantula were able to knock out 100 flying Pokemon with just one shot.
"Accelgor, use Focus Blast on all of them!" a male trainer commanded. Accelgor quickly sped across the streets and knocked out the rampant Pokemon one by one.
"Sawsbuck, use Horn Leech!" a male trainer at one of the attractions commanded. The Sawbuck knocked out five Seismitoad with five quick blows!
And of course, the Unova region champion and the Unova Elite Four were also in the city – the five elite trainers had just arrived and were now walking towards the front of the Nimbasa City gym.
"A new message?" Marshal wondered while pulling out his phone.
"Defeat the commander and this invasion will be over!" Gary's text read. "Your commander in Unova is a shiny Bisharp."
"Caitlin, Alder, Grimsley, Shauntal," Marshal started. "A shiny Bisharp is leading this army of Pokemon. If we can defeat him, the rest of the Pokemon will be defeated too."
"Huh? Grimsley? Shauntal?" Alder responded. "I don't see Grimsley or Shauntal anywhere."
"What?!" Marshal angrily shouted in disbelief. "They were walking right beside me just a few moments ago!"
All of sudden, two Focus Blasts were fired and Caitlin was the only one to notice.
"Look out!" Caitlin yelled while pushing Marshal and Alder out of the way.
After the smoke cleared, the three elite trainers were surprised to see two dark Pokemon snickering and hissing at them.
"Zor!" two Zoroark barked.
"Zoroark?" Alder said puzzled.
"Grimsley and Shauntal were just Zoroark the entire time?!" Marshal gawked.
"Look at those eyes," Caitlin observed. "I'm certain these Zoroark are from Malamar's army trying to stop us.
"Zor!" the two Zoroark barked again, this time firing two Flamethrowers.
"Oh no!" Caitlin cried while trying to shield her body and face.
"Caitlin," Marshal told Caitlin. His Conkeldurr easily tanked the Flamethrower blasts. "Let me handle this. Combatting Dark types are a fighting type's specialty! Mienshao, go and use High Jump Kick on both of them!"
Mienshao swiftly lunged at the first Zoroark and quickly knocked it out. The second Zoroark, however, dodged Mienshao's attack.
"Now U-turn the other!" Marshal commanded.
Mienshao backflipped after fainting Zoroark and instantly went to defeating the other without losing any momentum.
"Good job Mienshao and Conkeldurr," Marshal commended, "return."
But their fight was just beginning – hordes of Pokemon started attacking the three trainers out of nowhere!
"Look out!" Caitlin pointed out. "An army of Pawniard!"
"Sawk," Marshal called out, "Karate Chop them all!"
"Bouffalant, Head Charge on all of them!" Alder commanded.
Despite the Pawniard hordes large numbers, Alder and Marshal . However, a Golett horde also marched in and neither Bouffalant nor Sawk could do anything to harm the Ghost types.
"I'll stop the Golett," Caitlin called out. "Reuniclus, use Psychic on the Golett!"
Reuniclus used its Psychic power to lift the Golett into the air. After slamming the Golett into th ground, they all fainted.
"Whew," Marshal said relieved after his Sawk defeated the Pawniard around him. "I wonder how many are left.
"We should focus on fighting the shiny Bisharp leader so that we won't have to worry about the rest of this army."
"Agreed," Alder agreed in agreement. "I like that idea!"
"I like that idea too," the shiny Bisharp smirked as it appeared right in front of them.
"WHAT?!" the three trainers shouted in disbelief. The shiny Bisharp appearing out of nowhere left the in utter shock. "YOU CAN TALK?!"
"I surprised you all, didn't I?" Bisharp told the three trainers. "Well let me tell you what won't be a surprise – me defeating all of you."
"Sounds pretty surprising to me," Alder laughed. "You're looking at the Unova region champion!"
"And you're looking at my four Swords of Justice!" Bisharp responded back as the four deer Pokemon jumped from behind him. "Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, and Keldeo, take them down!"
"I'll take care of Virizion and Keldeo," Caitlin assured. "Reuniclus and Gothitelle, go!"
"I got Cobalion and Terrakion," Marshal also assured. "Sawk, Mienshao, let's go! And Alder, go and stop that Bisharp!"
"Right," Alder said. "Bouffalant, use Head Charge straight towards Bisharp!"
"Virizion, stop that Bouffalant with Sacred Sword!"
"Don't let it!" Caitlin responded. "Reuniclus, use Psychic to hold back Virizion!"
The four Swords of Justice were held back, giving Bouffalant a clear path to use Head Charge on Bisharp. However, shiny Bisharp and all of his edginess did not show any mercy when dealing with Alder's Bouffalant.
"He thinks he stands a chance, huh?" Bisharp murmured while standing completely still. "A pathetic Head Charge won't stop me."
Bouffalant continued to charge and charge, but it was only at the last second when Bisharp decided to make its move.
"It's over!" Bisharp affirmed as he used Sacred Sword.
Bisharp and Bouffalant slid in opposite directions after they used their attacks, but only Bouffalant fell to the ground.
"No!" Alder cried. "Bouffalant, return!"
"I'll have you know, I'm one of two commanders master Malamar has taught a one-hit knockout move to," Bisharp informed Alder. "In fact, my master Malamar has the capability to teach any Pokemon move."
"I see," Alder considered. "Now let me show you what my Volcarona can do! Volcarona, use Quiver Dance!"
"Ha, see if you can take this Stone Edge," Bisharp said while firing his Stone Edge attack.
"Not a chance!" Alder responded. "Dodge them all and swoop in for a Fiery Dance!"
Volcarona gracefully danced in the air the dodge of the incoming Stone Edge stones.
"Now it's over!" Bisharp said "Sacred Sw-"
Volcarona made a slight tilt with its body to avoid Bisharp's Sacred Sword counterattack. Despite the tilt, Volcarona was still close enough to deal massive damage to Bisharp using Fiery Dance!
"Gotcha," Alder smirked.
"Not bad," Bisharp smirked back while shaking off the damage. "Fiery Dance also increases your Volcarona's special attack – very impressive. Now see if you can handle my Double Team!"
The shiny Bisharp multiplied shadow clones rapidly using Double Team, but Alder and Volcarona were not overwhelmed.
"I've got a move for that," Alder responded. "Use Bug Buzz on all of them!"
Volcarona, who was flying in the air, used Bug Buzz with all its might and knocked out all of the clones. Unfortunately, the result did not go as expected.
"What?!" Alder gawked. "How did it get so close after the clones were destroyed?"
"Pure speed," Bisharp answered, "now take this Aqua Jet!"
After Bisharp pulverized Volcarona into the ground, Bisharp dived straight down towards it to land a finishing blow.
"Now to finish you with Stone Edge Blade!" Bisharp declared.
"Volcarona!" Alder cried.
Volcarona had been utterly defeated by Bisharp's powerful Stone Edge Blade.
"Return," Alder sighed. "So, you're able to use Stone Edge as a blade slash too?"
"Of course," Bisharp replied. "I would even say that I'm the world's strongest Bisharp out there – I can do all kinds of Pokemon attacks that normal Bisharp can't."
VS Swords of Justice
As Alder fought with commander Bisharp, Caitlin and Marshal fought against the legendary four Swords of Justice.
Keldeo had just landed a quick Aqua Jet attack on Reuniclus that launched Reuniclus very far backwards.
"Get up Reuniclus!" Caitlin told her Pokemon. "Hold that Keldeo in place using Psychic!"
After Keldeo was pinned by Psychic, Caitlin knew the perfect move to finish it off.
"Gothitelle, use Thunderbolt!" Caitlin commanded.
Keldeo fell the ground and lay defeated. However, Virizion proved to be even more formidable – it quickly rushed in and used two Leaf Blade strikes on Caitlin's Reuniclus and Gothitelle.
SLASH! SLASH!
"Reuniclus no!" Caitlin cried. Reuniclus had fainted from Virizion's swift Leaf Blade slice. "Return, you did good."
Gothitelle, however, got back up and continued to fight off Virizion.
As for Marshal, Sawk and Mienshao were also holding their own against the Swords of Justice.
"Sawk, block that Sacred Sword with Karate Chop and hit Cobalion back with Close Combat!" Marshal commanded.
All of a sudden, Terrakion quickly tried to jump on top of Mienshao and attack it with a surprise Sacred Sword!
"Jump to dodge it," Marshal responded, "then hit back hard with High Jump Kick!"
Mienshao's powerful High Jump Kick launched Terrakion right where Sawk was fighting – this was the perfect chance for Sawk to finish Terrakion off.
"Finish that Terrakion with Karate Chop!" Marshal commanded.
Sawk easily defeated Terrakion with a powerful Karate Chop. However, Sawk and Marshal did not realize that Cobalion was charging in with a mighty Iron Head bash!
"Sawk, no!" Marshal shouted. Sawk was defeated and lay weak on the ground from Cobalion's Iron Head bash. "Return Sawk, good work."
Marshal's Mienshao, however, was still in perfect shape ready to combat Cobalion.
Finishing Blow
"Of course," Bisharp replied. "I would even say that I'm the world's strongest Bisharp out there – I can do all kinds of Pokemon attacks that normal Bisharp can't."
The shiny Bisharp commander looked around and saw that two of the Swords of Justice had already been defeated.
"This is taking too long," Bisharp said impatiently. "I'll finish these guys off in an instant."
SLASH! SLASH!
All of a sudden, both Mienshao and Gothitelle fell to the ground fainted.
"No!" Marshal and Caitlin cried.
"Yes," Bisharp smirked. "No surprise there – I win."
"H…how?" Alder questioned in despair. He was completely dumbfounded at what just happened. "I couldn't even see you move!"
"Pure speed," Bisharp answered. "And remember, I can use a variety of Pokemon attacks. Mienshao got a taste of my Psycho Cut and Gothitelle got a taste of my Night Slash."
"We," Marshal muttered, "we lost."
Bisharp just smirked, jeered and walked away with pride. The Unova commander was now planning his next steps of action.
"If Unova's champion couldn't stop me then I don't think anyone else can!" Bisharp realized. "Now to move on to capturing Driftveil City in the west and Castelia City in the south!"
The shiny Bisharp marched westward towards Driftveil City with a large number of hypnotized Pokemon following him. A separate group of Pokemon marched south and helped to hypnotize wild desert Pokemon along the way.
Team Rocket Revival
Giovanni's heliplane finally made it back to the Sinjoh Ruins, but just before he entered the Saffron City portal he saw his fallen team scattered around the ruins and decided to pick them all up.
He parked his heliplane right next to the portals and first walked over to the fighting elite who had recovered from Dedenne's Nuzzle attack. Giovanni then went over to Archer and used his pocket knife to cut open the rope that Jessie and James tied him in.
"What's with the scratches on your face?" Giovanni asked.
"That talking Meowth did it," Archer answered.
"I see," Giovanni said sternly. "Let's go get the others."
Giovanni continued walking and then cut the rope that Meowth tied Butch and Cassidy in.
"Your faces look filthy," Giovanni said while disgusted.
"An Inkay sprayed us with ink," Cassidy grumbled.
The four of them then walked over to Proton and Giovanni cut the Vine Whip that May's Venusaur had tied him up in."
"What happened to your face?" Giovanni questioned.
"Slashed by rose thorns," Proton muttered unhappily.
"Tsk," Giovanni reacted angrily. "Come on, let's keep moving."
Giovanni walked over to Petrel who had finally woken up from Venonat's Sleep Powder. They then walked over to Ariana and Atlas who just woke up from Pansage's Grasswhistle. Finally, Giovanni made it to the 151 grunts that had been defeated at the hands of Sweet Kiss, Sleep Powder, Grasswhistle, and Clemont's assault generator. They were all awake now and waiting in formation for Giovanni's next orders.
"It's a good thing Malamar didn't destroy our equipment," Giovanni thought to himself in relief.
"Are all your vehicles still working?" Giovanni loudly asked the grunts.
"Boss," A grunt told him, "you were the only one who drove a vehicle here."
"But that's impossible, look at all of these Team Rocket trucks and aircraft around here!" Giovanni pointed out. "I was flying a Team Rocket heliplane just a few minutes ago!"
"Even though everyone else walked by foot," Petrel told him, "I believe you ordered aircraft and trucks to be sent inside the ruins a day before we marched in."
"I see," Giovanni realized and said to himself. "That explains what the grunt was saying. All these vehicles don't actually belong to the grunts – so much must happened while I was hypnotized."
"Team Rocket, listen up," Giovanni told his team. "You may not believe this, but I have been mind controlled by a Malamar during this entire operation."
"WHAT?!" the Team Rocket grunts roared.
"Impossible!" Atlas yelled.
"How?!" Butch and Cassidy shouted in disbelief.
"This can't be!" Ariana cried.
"Now, this Malamar and his hypnotized armies are rampaging through six Pokemon regions trying to conquer each city in order to show his dominance." Giovanni continued. "If we let Malamar succeed, Team Rocket will be no more."
"Let's go stop him!" Proton urged.
"That Pokemon needs to know their place!"
"I'm assuming all of your Pokemon have been defeated," Giovanni told his entire team. "Are there supplies of revives and potions available in the trucks?
"Yes sir," some of the grunts replied.
"Good," Giovanni said. "Heal up – Malamar won't conquer the Kanto region so easily."
After everyone healed up their Pokemon, the Team Rocket members all boarded the vehicles. 15 grunts boarded 10 separate trucks and the rest boarded Giovanni's heliplane.
"Let's go," Giovanni told his team through a radio microphone that transmitted to the other vehicles.
The 10 trucks and Giovanni's heliplane flew right into the portal leading into Saffron City determined to defeat Malamar's army.
Kanto Catastrophe
The Kanto region was looking extremely decimated compared to the other regions. Unlike Kalos and Unova where the invasion was limited to one city, the invasion in Kanto also involved Vermillion City, Cerulean City, Celadon City, and Lavender Town. Those four cities were completely helpless against Malamar's forces and had instantly surrendered without enough strong trainers to combat their abundance. And with each victory, Malamar's hypnotic influence on the region expanded – this allowed Malamar to hypnotize the entire hordes of sea Pokemon to attack trainers near the Cycling Road and the fishers on Route 12. Malamar's next goal for the Kanto region was to conquer Pewter City and Fuschia – Malamar already had control over the majority of Pokemon in Mt. Moon. However, Saffron City was a city that was still fighting strong. But with the recent turn of events involving Malamar's Kanto commander, Saffron City's strength wouldn't last for long.
"A new message?" Bruno of the Elite Four wondered while pulling out his phone.
"Defeat the commander and this invasion will be over!" Gary's text read. "Your commander in Kanto is a shiny Kabutops."
"Guys, a shiny Kabutops is leading this army and we can stop this invasion if we defeat it!" Bruno informed the other elite trainers.
"And there's the shiny Kabutops right in front of us!" Lorelei pointed out.
"Let's go after it!" Blaine declared.
Each of the trainers took turns battling the Kabutops, but they were all defeated easily.
Blaine was the first to try to fight Kabutops and he first sent out his Ninetales. Ninetales had taken out many of hypnotized Vileplume, Venusaur, and Victreebel rampaging throughout the streets using its powerful Fire Spin attack. Unfortunately, Kabutops countered with a Whirlpool attack that easily took out both Ninetales and its Fire Spin. Blaine then sent out one of his strongest Pokemon Magmar to fight, but Kabutops quickly rushed in with an Aqua Jet and rendered Blaine's Magmar utterly defeated. Blaine had no more Pokemon left, so it was time for an Elite Four member to try their luck.
Lorelei, who was often called Prima as a nickname, was up next to try her luck. She sent out her Dewgong, Cloyster, and Jynx all at once to try to freeze Kabutops and its surroundings. Jynx used Blizzard, Cloyster used Aurora Beam, and Dewgong used Aurora Beam on the ground and at Kabutops itself.
"You think this is going to do anything to me?" Kabutops smirked. Kabutops was completely unphazed by Lorelei's Ice attacks and rushed in to finish off Dewgong, Cloyster, and Jynx using three quick Guillotine attacks.
"Now Slowbro, Disable!" Lorelei commanded as she sent out her Slowbro.
"Impressive, I won't be able to use my Guillotine anymore," Kabutops commended. "However, I can defeat opponents in one hit using pure power alone!"
Kabutops quickly ended Slowbro with a powerful Leaf Blade – it was this point that Lorelei gave up without any strong enough Pokemon left.
Agatha of the Elite Four went up next and she was confident that there was no way Kabutops could harm her Pokemon. She sent out her entire team of Haunter, Golbat, Arbok, and two Gengar to try too stop
"I've got a scythe for each one of you," Kabutops smirked.
Kabutops utilized its massive speed and quickly finished each of Agatha's Pokemon off one by one. Kabutops used Psycho Cut to end Arbok, a Stone Edge scythe to end Golbat, and a Night Slash attack to finish Haunter and her two Gengar.
"Impossible!" Agatha cried. "My Pokemon should have been fast enough to dodge those attacks!"
"So," Kabutops asked adamantly, "who's next?"
"I'll fight you," Bruno answered.
Kabutops didn't realize that Bruno already had his Hitmonchan out – Kabutops was hit by a fast Thunder Punch.
"Yes it hit!" Bruno celebrated.
"That was nothing!" Kabutops responded. Kabutops quickly slashed back with a Psycho Cut attack.
"No!" Bruno cried. "But that's not all I got!"
The rest Bruno's team, which Bruno had sent out before hand, tried attacking Kabutops with sneak attacks. Unfortunately, Kabutops was very aware this time around and quickly dispatched of Bruno's Machamp, Hitmonlee, and his two Onix with Psycho Cut and Origin Pulse.
"You…you can use a move like Origin Pulse?" Bruno questioned as he shuddered in fear.
"Of course," Kabutops answered. "I am the world's strongest Kabutops!"
"This guy is just too strong," Lorelei grumbled with hopelessness.
"I don't think there's not much we can do," Agatha sighed.
"I'll take that as your official surrender
"We haven't surrendered just yet!" a man called out.
"What?" Kabutops wondered. "There's still another challenger?"
"In fact, you'll be the one that's surrendering!" a woman called out.
"I don't believe they're actually here!" Bruno said in awe.
"It's…" Blaine started.
"…the Frontier Brains!" Bruno, Agatha, Lorelei, and Blaine rejoiced.
"Sorry we're late," Anabel apologized.
"But we needed to make sure all of us were together," Greta added.
"We all flew on Brandon's Battle Pyramid once we met up at one place," Noland explained.
"It was quite the ride," Tucker commented.
"But it's only a matter of time before they take over!" Spencer warned.
"Right," Lucy agreed, "we need to act fast."
Just then, another prominent figure appeared on the scene – Saffron City's gym leader Sabrina.
"Hey Sabrina, long time no see," Lorelei smiled.
"I've heard that this army has the capacity to conquer or threaten nearly every city in the Kanto region," Sabrina stated. "I would suggest each of you Frontier Brains go to a city in Kanto to make sure that these Pokemon don't overpower the citizens."
"And how exactly do you plan on getting us to these cities?" Tucker questioned.
"I have a Kadabra that can use Teleport," Sabrina answered. "Sounds like a plan?"
"Yep," the frontier brains excluding Brandon responded.
"The other in cities in Kanto could definitely use our help," Noland added.
Sabrina quickly teleported six of the Frontier Brains to different cities and went along with them to each city. Lucy was sent to Pewter City, Spencer was sent to Lavender Town, Noland was sent to Vermillion City, Tucker was sent to Fuschia City, Greta was sent to Cerulean City, and Anabel was sent to Celadon City.
Tucker and Sabrina were especially shocked when they teleported to Fuchsia City.
"I don't believe it!" Sabrina said in shock. "Fuschia City has been conquered already? Last time I checked only the Cycling Road had been conquered!"
"Don't worry," Tucker assured, "I'll make sure to drive these Pokemon out of here."
"Yep, do your best," Sabrina told Tucker. "I'm teleporting back now so good luck – I'll be back to pick you up later."
However, Brandon had other plans – his mind was set on taking down this Kabutops commander for good.
"So you're the famous Kabutops commander?" Pyramid King Brandon smirked as he walked up to the shiny Kabutops. "Let's see what you're made of. Regirock – I need your assistance!"
"Alright," Kabutops said accepting his challenge. "First I'll start off with Safeguard to make sure you don't try anything tricky with that legendary titan of yours."
"Take this Aqua Jet!" Kabutops yelled.
"Iron Defense!" Brandon commanded.
"What?" Kabutops said in disbelief. "I couldn't even put a dent on this Regirock!"
"Now Zap Cannon!" Brandon commanded his Regirock .
"It's a good thing I used Safeguard," the shiny Kabutops said to himself. "I would have paralyzed right there."
"Time for my trump card!" Kabutops declared to Brandon. "Prepare to lose at the hands of my ultimate attack! Origin Pulse!"
Kabutops surrounded itself with multiple water energy orbs and prepared to fire them as energy waves at Regirock.
"Origin Pulse?" Brandon questioned as he watched Kabutops charge up. "What kind of move is…wait…that can't be…a signature technique of the legendary Kyogre?!"
Brandon was so dazed that he forgot to tell his Regirock to react. Fortunately, another Pokemon came to Brandon's rescue.
"Honchkrow, Mirror Move!" Giovanni commanded his Pokemon as he entered the area. Honchkrow blocked Kabutops's Origin Pulse by using an Origin Pulse of its own!
"Well well," Brandon greeted. "You must be Viridian City gym leader Giovanni."
"The entire Kanto region is in danger," Giovanni told Brandon, "we need to unite to make sure they don't win."
Before Giovanni met up with Brandon, he had sent 2 of his grunt trucks to Celadon City, 2 of his grunt trucks to Lavender Town, 2 of his grunt trucks to Cerulean City, 2 of his grunt trucks to Vermillion City, and 2 of his grunt trucks to remain in Saffron City. He instructed them to fight off the hypnotized Pokemon in each city and told them to take the conquered cities back. As for the executives, they were all in Silph Co. carrying out a special task for Giovanni.
"Mind if I help you beat this Kabutops?" Giovanni asked.
"I'm a Frontier Brain," Brandon said back, "but I could definitely use your assistance here."
"Not even the two of you combined will be able stop me," Kabutops asserted. "I am the world's strongest Kabutops without a doubt!"
Elsewhere in the Kanto region, unharmed cities such as Viridian City were already having evacuations. Citizens had begun a few hours in advance flying, boating, and taking buses out of town to the neighboring Sevii and Orange Islands. Even Pallet Town was being evacuated.
"Pallet Town is being evacuated," Officer Jenny informed Professor Oak and Delia at the laboratory front door. "With the current invasion going on, it is extremely unsafe to remain near the Kanto or Johto regions. Because of this, we're evacuating citizens to the nearby Sevii and Orange Islands. So come on now, let's get going."
"Ok," Professor Rowan and Delia agreed.
Arrival on the Airship
When Ash and the rest of Team Pikachu jumped off Giovanni's heliplane, they immediately started combatting the guard Pokemon on board.
"Quilava, use Flamethrower on those Maractus!" Ash commanded.
"Quilava, use Flamethrower on those Ursaring!" Dawn also commanded.
"Blaziken, use Fire Spin on all those Scyther!" May commanded her Blaziken.
"Dragonite, Flamethrower on those Excadrill!" Iris commanded her Dragonite.
The entire team continued running and fighting off every Pokemon that stood in their way. Their first destination was the supply cabinet. After a couple of minutes fighting off every Pokemon and trap that tried to stop them, they finally made it to the supply cabinet.
"Yes," Clemont said, "we're finally here! Grab a parachute everyone."
After everyone grabbed a parachute, Clemont gave a quick tutorial.
"Everyone listen up – I'm going to tell you guys how to use this now that I read the directions," Clemont announced. "Each parachute comes with an altitude gauge. Make sure you open your parachute and pull this pin once you are at 5,000 feet above sea level."
"Great," Cilan commented after putting the light parachute on his bag.
"We'll definitely need it if this airship crashes," Donovan pointed out.
"Wow, these are so cool!" Bonnie said in awe.
"We get to go parachuting once we win!" Max exclaimed happily.
"Max, Bonnie," May admonished, "we're in a very serious situation right now. If you don't treat it seriously you'll end up trapped in a cage again!"
"Ok," Max and Bonnie responded.
"Let's get a move on guys," Brock suggested.
"Right," the rest of Team Pikachu agreed.
Their next stop was to find the elevator to the 3rd floor. However, it was going to be a long trip to get there – the elevator was located at the other side of the airship's entrance. Furthermore, there were hordes of traps and Pokemon ready to stop intruders. Nevertheless, Team Pikachu continued advancing ahead determined to take down Malamar.
"Bunnelby, use Mud Shot!" Clemont told his Bunnelby. Bunnelby was able to successfully take down 2 Electabuzz.
"Corsola, Bubblebeam!" Misty told her Pokemon. The Bubblebeam attack was able to stop a charging Ponyta.
Bound For Backup
"We've been defeated by the Chesnaught commander and are currently trapped in a sea of fire – we need help!" Gary's text to Diantha read.
"Professor Oak!" Gary cried. "The Kalos region needs help! Chesnaught wiped the floor with Kalos Champion Diantha when she tried to take it down! They're trapped in a sea of fire and there's no one around that even knows they need help."
"I see," Professor Rowan sighed. "Time to call backup."
Professor Rowan looked at his list of Team Pikachu members and decided to send Misty to Kalos.
"Misty," Professor Rowan informed, "I'm going to have to send you down for backup – Anistar City in Kalos needs your help. The champion and two Elite Four are trapped in a sea of fire next to the crystal sundial, so I'm sending you, a water type trainer, to go help them. There is also a Chesnaught commander that needs to be dealt with. You should take one more person."
"Already?!" Misty protested. However, she quickly agreed because she knew this was urgent.
"Tracey, could you help me out?" Misty asked. "Professor Rowan is sending me back down for backup."
"Sure," Tracey agreed.
After they said their goodbyes, Misty and Tracey ran back to the back of the airship and jumped out the entrance - they experienced a very exhilarating skydive!
"Wheeeeee!" Misty and Tracey said with joy as they fell from the sky.
After about a minute, Misty and Tracey successfully opened their parachutes at the 5,000 foot altitude and slowly descended into Blackthorn City. They noticed all of the action going on and couldn't help but be worried.
"Look at all of these rampaging Pokemon," Misty pointed out.
"Let's try to avoid them," Tracey told Misty through their scouter microphones. "Let's see if we can steer our parachutes directly into that portal."
Fortunately, Misty and Tracey were able to glide into the portal without any major disruptions at all. Once they arrived back inside the Sinjoh Ruins, they prepared to enter the Kalos region's portal.
"It's a good thing Clemont labeled these portals for all of us," Misty pointed out.
"Sure is," Tracey said in agreement. "Ready to go?"
"Yep," Misty said, "let's do this!"
Misty and Tracey entered the portal to Anistar City ready to run to the sundial and assist the trapped elite trainers.
Will Misty and Tracey be able to stop the unbeatable commander Chesnaught? How will the Unova region deal with the unstoppable commander Bisharp? Will Giovanni and Brandon be able to take down commander Kabutops? How are the Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh regions doing during this massive war? Can Team Pikachu successfully make it to Malamar's room? And will Ash be able to save his Pikachu? Find out in the next chapter of Saving Pikachu!
"The Kanto region is in major trouble," Professor Rowan sighed while analyzing the visuals on his screen. "All of eastern Kanto has been conquered at this point and only western cities such as Viridian City and Pewter City remain untouched. But they now have the Frontier Brains and Team Rocket helping out so I think they'll be fine."
"As for the Unova region," Professor Rowan continued while viewing a live video of Nimbasa City via satellite, "that commander Bisharp completely dominated the champion and Alder and some Elite Four members – I may just have to call in som – "
All of a sudden, a car quickly sped by Alder and drove towards the Driftveil Drawbridge.
"Who was that?" Professor Rowan wondered as he zoomed in to get a better view. "If these trainers in the car are strong then the Unova region should be fine, especially with that pulled up drawbridge."
Bisharp's army was quickly advancing, but fortunately the citizens of Driftveil City were getting prepared to fight back. More importantly, they were able to pull the drawbridge up to hinder Bisharp's advances.
"It's a good thing we have this drawbridge," Driftveil City gym leader Clay commented from in front of his gym.
Back on the Nimbasa City side of the bridge, Bisharp was furious with how the drawbridge had been pulled up.
"Curses," Bisharp grumbled, "Oh well, at least we can send some flying and water Pokemon across."
"But one thing's for sure: you're staying right here!" a man called out as he exited his car.
"You're going down right here and right now!" another man declared while exiting the same car.
"Just who are you two?" the shiny Bisharp asked.
"I'm Ingo," Ingo introduced while in his usual black conductor attire.
"And I'm Emmet," Emmet introduced while in his white conductor attire.
"We're the Subway Bosses, and you're going down!" Ingo and Emmet declared together.
To be continued…
