A/N: It's been three years since I first started this story and I can't believe I'm still working on it! This story takes place during the beginning of the XY series (between episodes XY10 and XY11), and now the Pokemon franchise is already on Generation 7 with the Sun & Moon games! I will definitely incorporate some of the new Sun & Moon content in future chapters.

Unfortunately, I don't know when the next chapter will come out or if I'll be able to put it out at all. This story is at its climax so it will be all over once this arc ends, but it's been hard finding the motivation, time, and focus to continue on. And it was especially hard with this chapter. With battles and stories from 5 regions, this is the longest chapter I've ever written so far. I've had to put in a LOT of thought for each detail that I put in. But despite the tough work (well, tough for me), I'm really happy with how deep I was able to take this story and I hope you've enjoyed it too.

For the few who still keep up with my story, thank you for your continued support. And sorry in advance for any grammatical errors or missing words you might find in this chapter or any of the others.

Also, this chapter gets a little dark in the end - I hope it's not too much.

With that being said, read, review, and enjoy the story!

Chapter 24: The Great Invasion – The Commander Confrontation

The battles continued to rage on throughout the Pokemon world.

"As for the Unova region," Professor Rowan continued while viewing a live video of Nimbasa City via satellite, "that commander Bisharp completely dominated the champion and Alder and some Elite Four members – I may just have to call in som – "

All of a sudden, a car quickly sped by Alder and drove towards the Driftveil Drawbridge.

"Who was that?" Professor Rowan wondered as he zoomed in to get a better view. "If these trainers in the car are strong then the Unova region should be fine, especially with that pulled up drawbridge."

After learning that the Subway Bosses were attempting to take down Bisharp, Professor Rowan shifted his focus to the other regions.

"Ok, that covers Kanto, Kalos, and Unova," Professor Rowan stated. "Now let's see how the Hoenn region is doing."

Professor Rowan looked into some of the Hoenn live footage and discovered that Hoenn's champion Steven was facing off against the Cacturne commander in the Hoenn region.

"Mega Metagross and Cacturne appear to be evenly matched," Professor Rowan pointed out. "I'm going to have faith that he can handle this."

Hoenn's Hardship

Before the situation in Hoenn region came down to just Steven and Cacturne, each of the Elite Four faced off against the commander. They were fighting in Lilycove City in an area right next to the ocean shore.

"Hey guys!" Steven called out to his Elite Four members. "Check this out! This text says that our commander in Hoenn is a Cacturne. If we can defeat him then this invasion will be over!"

"We definitely need this to be over," Phoebe, Hoenn's Ghost-type Elite Four, asserted. "At this point

"If we can end this in a flash it will save the entire city," Sidney, Hoenn's Dark-type Elite Four, pointed out.

"Then let us defeat this Cacturne as soon as possible," Glacia, Hoenn's Ice-type Elite Four, declared.

"Agreed," Drake, Hoenn's Dragon-type Elite Four, said.

"Well me too, it's about time!" a voice called out manically.

"He came to us?!" Steven said in shock while turning his head.

"Of course, I've been waiting for this very moment to exhibit my true dominance in battle!" Cacturne cackled."

"Let me take him on first!" Sidney declared. "Mightyena, use Crunch! Cacturne, use Needle Arm! Shiftry, use Leaf Blade! And Absol, use Aerial Ac-"

PA-PA-PA-PAAWNCHHH!

"Ya see that?" Cacturne cackled drunkenly. "I only needed four Mach Punches to beat your four Pokemon!"

"I…I lost already?!" Sidney thought to himself in disbelief.

"And is that what you call a Cacturne?" Cacturne boasted. "Pathetic – I am the strongest Cacturne in the world – no one stands a chance!"

All three of us should fight him at the same time," Drake suggested. "He's simply too strong and fast for any of us to handle alone."

"Right, Glacia and Phoebe agreed.

"Banette, use Shadow Ball!" Phoebe told her two Banette.

"Gotcha," Cacturne smirked as he quickly finished Phoebe's two Banette with Sucker Punch. But as he said this, he realized he couldn't move! "What?! Why am I frozen?!"

"Gotcha," Glacia smiled. "Sealeo, Glalie, and Walrein, keep on using Ice Beam!"

"Shelgon and Altaria, use Dragonbreath!" Drake called out. "Salamence use Flamethrower!"

Cacturne was completely immobilized by the ice. "Dang it, I can't move so now I'm going to lose!" Cacturne said sarcastically. "Or so they think…"

"MIRROR COAT!" Cacturne shouted. A light aura surrounded Cacturne's body and reflected the many projectiles that were headed his way!

"This can't be!" Drake yelled in shock.

Glacia's two Sealeo, two Glalie, and Walrein were defeated by the immense power and speed of the reflected blasts. Drake's Shelgon, Altaria, and Salamence. Finally, Phoebe had sent out her two Dusclops and Sableye as backup, but they too were caught in the reflected blasts.

"Return," Glacia, Phoebe, and Drake sighed.

"Looks like it's up to me now," Steven told everyone. "Metagross, come on out."

"So," Cacturne smirked while shaking off the ice on his legs, "I finally get to fight Steven, the champion of the Hoenn region! And I'll admit that your shiny Metagross looked very stunning."

"Metagross is my strongest Pokemon," Steven informed Cacturne. "If you beat my Metagross, I won't let my other Pokemon face defeat. But I promise you beating me is not going to be easy!"

"We'll see about that," Cacturne responded. "Take this Solarbeam!"

"What?!" Steven gawked. "Quick Metagross use Psychic to redirect the Solarbeam upwards! Then use Flash Can-"

PAWNCH!

"Gotcha," Cacturne deviously grinned after landing a Sucker Punch on Metagross.

"Get up Metagross!" Steven yelled. Metagross quickly got up and shrugged off the Sucker Punch.

"I see," Cacturne noticed after seeing Metagross's Mega Stone wrapped on one of its arms, "your Metagross can Mega Evolve. Do you really think Metagross's normal form will be enough?"

"Ok Metagross, Mega Evolve!" Steven responded. "Time to go all out!"

Steven's Metagross mega evolved and emitted immense power, but Cacturne was not surprised one bit.

"Now there's a real fight!" Cacturne exclaimed.

"Use Psychic over there!" Steven commanded Mega Metagross.

"I'm a dark type!" Cacturne asserted. "Psychic moves won't work on me!"

"I'm not aiming for you!" Steven answered back. "Use Psychic to bombard Cacturne with ocean water!"

"Water won't do anything to me either," Cacturne sighed while standing completely still despite the water. "Now it's my tur – "

"Meteor Mash!" Steven told Metagross.

The unprepared Cacturne took Metagross's Meteor Mash dash head on and there was nothing it could do!

"You got distracted, didn't you?" Steven smirked.

"You fool!" Cacturne grunted. "Take this Flame Burst attack!"

"Use Psychic to redirect the Flame Burst back at Cacturne!" Steven responded. Cacturne could do nothing but take the fire ball attack!

"You forgot I could fly, didn't you?" Cacturne smirked as he quickly shook off the Flame Burst attack.

"Mega Metagross can fly too!" Steven pointed out. "Charge in with Meteor Mash!"

"Take this Sucker Pun – " Cacturne began. "Wait, I can't move?!" Even though he was behind Metagross, Cacturne could not move a muscle!

"I secretly told my Metagross to use Psychic to make a water wall before using Meteor Mash," Steven explained. "Your attack stood no chance against my strategy – use Flash Cannon on Cacturne now that it's trapped!"

"NOOOOOO!" Cacturne screamed as it was blown back by the Flash Cannon attack.

"Now fly up to Cacturne and use Meteor Mash attacks in rapid succession!" Steven continued. Cacturne was struck left and right by Metagross's repeated bashing and it could not do anything against Mega Metagross's sheer speed.

Mega Metagross's final Meteor Mash slammed Cacturne into the ground, and it was at this time that Professor Rowan stopped watching – the professor saw that the Hoenn situation was thankfully going to be alright.

"This is the end Cacturne," Steven told Cacturne, who was weakly lying on the ground. "Use Meteor Mash to finish this off!"

"NOOOOOOO!" Cacturne cried as he braced himself. He was just about ready to faint.

But after rolling under the Meteor Mash, however, Cacturne avoided Metagross

"NOOOOO…no problem for me that is!" Cacturne cackled after emerging from behind Mega Metagross. "Now take this Knock Off attack!"

"Knock Off?" Steven wondered. "But that doesn't work on meg – "

All of a sudden, Metagross reverted back to its normal form!

"What?!" Steven shouted in disbelief.

"Yes," Cacturne explained, "normally the move Knock Off does not work on mega evolved Pokemon. But my Knock Off is special – it can even knock away a Pokemon's mega stone!"

"This…this can't be!" Steven said in horror.

"And even with your Mega Metagross, I still had plenty of stat boosting moves that I haven't used yet!" Cacturne boasted. "There's no way you defeat me!"

"Grr," Steven shouted, "Metagross, use Flash Cann – "

PAWNCH!

"Did you forget my Sucker Punch?" Cacturne smirked. "Now take this volley of Flame Burst attacks!"

Cacturne launched a combination of Knock Off, Sucker Punch, Mach Punch, and Flame Burst attacks that overwhelmed Steven's Metagross!

"Now to finish you off!" Cacturne declared. "Flame Burst Solarbeam!"

"He combined two moves?!" Steven yelled furiously. "Try to dodge it!
But it was too late – Cacturne's attacks were too much for Metagross to handle.

"Return Metagross," Steven sighed. "You did well."

"Indeed," Cacturne agreed. "Metagross did well, but it was no match for me! It's fortunate that your Metagross gets its mega stone back after a Knock Off attack, but a kinder, more civil Pokemon like myself would have given you the stone back anyway! My only concern is that this beating humbled you a bit – for I am the strongest Cacturne in the world!"

Then, Cacturne hovered in the sky above the water where he could see every one and the whole city. He turned his attention and talked to Elite Four, the Champion, and everyone else in the area.

"Look behind you everyone, do you see what we have done to the city?" Cacturne announced. "I have defeated Hoenn's strongest trainer, and we have officially taken over Lilycove City! But this isn't for me – it is for my master Malamar X. The Hoenn region and the entire world will all be in Lord Malamar's control! So don't try to resist – just accept your city's fate!"

"I lost," Steven sighed and told the Elite Four members. "But at least Cacturne is weakened."

"Unfortunately that won't make a difference if no one strong comes to stop him," Drake sighed.

"We can only hope at this point," Sidney sighed. "Hoenn is doomed if no one can stop Cacturne."

Cacturne turned his attention to the hypnotized army of Pokemon. "Charge to the nearby cities – you Pokemon on my right go to Sootopolis and Mossdeep! The rest of you head west to the next closest city!"

Johto Jostling

Just below Malamar's airship, almost half of Blackthorn City was in ruins. More and more buildings started to collapse because of the Pokemon rampaging. And since Blackthorn City was the city closest to Malamar, the city had even more hypnotized Pokemon to deal with than normal!

Fortunately, Blackthorn City had a system ready beforehand to protect as many civilians as possible. Before the armies began attacking, people had already begun evacuating south by making it through Johto's Route 45. People were also given the option to stay inside the spacious Wallace Cup stadium for protection - it was the safest place in the city. Drew, Kenny, and Conway fled the Pokemon Center and found Clair with some other trainers at the refugee stadium. When they made it there, the three of them volunteered to help guide people to safety.

"Everyone get inside the stadium!" Kenny shouted to the city through a megaphone that was lent to him. "Strong trainers will guard the arena from intruders while you are inside!"

"But stay calm everyone," Drew told the anxious crowd through his megaphone.

"Proceed through the doors in single file," Conway instructed as he watched people rush in.

"It's nice that we're able to contribute and help out here," Kenny told Drew and Conway.

"But still," Drew said, "I can't help but worry about how Ash, May, and their friends are doing."

Two Elite Four members, Clair, the Johto champion Lance, and most of Blackthorn City's strongest trainers were stationed all around the outside of the venue to guard and protect the people inside. Other elite trainers teamed up with Blackthorn City's police to scan the city for any trapped or helpless civilians still left in the conquered areas of the city. Support medics and nurses fled the Pokemon Center just in time to escape the Pokemon army's wrath. They were able to pack up plenty of medical supplies into trucks that were all taken to the Wallace Cup venue. Some of people and Pokemon desperately needed medical attention – it was a good thing that all of the doctors were brought to arena.

Medics also brought medicine to the strong trainers defending the venue – the trainers were able to rest and heal their Pokemon with Potions if needed. Despite the medical support, however, the strong trainers were slowly getting worn out.

"I don't know how much longer we can keep this up," Karen, the dark type user of the Johto Elite Four, said worriedly. She was helping defend the Wallace Cup arena with her Umbreon.

"Let's just hope someone out there can resolve this quickly," Will, the psychic type user of the Johto Elite Four, responded.

"Well one thing's for sure," Clair, who was fighting off the hypnotized Pokemon using her shiny Druddigon, told Will and Karen, "it's too early to give up now!"

Clair then turned her attention to address all of the other strong trainers defending the venue. "We can't let any Pokemon barge into the stadium! We need to protect the people, so keep on fighting hard!"

"Right!" the strong trainers said back.

Lance smiled as she watched her cousin support the strong trainers of her city. As Johto's champion, Lance was the strongest trainer helping defend the stadium.

As Lance was forcing back hypnotized Pokemon back using his Gyarados, a text message interrupted them.

"A new message?" Lance wondered while pulling out his phone.

"Defeat the commander and this invasion will be over!" Gary's text read. "Your commander in Johto is a shiny Scizor."

"A shiny Scizor, huh?" Lance thought to himself, "I should go tell every-"

BAM!

Lance watched as a shiny Scizor knocked back his Gyarados a few hundred meters away from the stadium with a powerful Thunder Punch. Lance ran over to his fainted Gyarados and met up with the shiny Scizor standing behind it.

"You must be the commander," Lance told the shiny Scizor.

"Yes," the Scizor responded. "You may not believe me, but I am the strongest Scizor in the world."

"Oh I believe you alright," Lance responded. "But even a Pokemon like you can eventually meet your match."

Lance reached to grab his phone, but Scizor stopped him with words.

"Trying to call for backup?" the shiny Scizor smirked. "There's a reason isolated you away from the others, Champion Lance. You wouldn't want your precious friends to get hurt, now would you? If you're going to stop me, do it alone."

"He's right," Lance thought to himself. "If he's instantly knocked out my Gyarados like that, what more of the others?"

"Fortunately for you," Scizor stated, "I don't like to waste all my time with Pokemon I know I can beat. Why should I waste time with small fry? You should be very thankful that my ways are keeping your friends safe."

"Alright commander, I'll gladly take you on," Lance agreed. "Return Gyarados, go Dragonite! Use Ice Punch!"

"Ha," Scizor scoffed as he watched Dragonite rushed in. "All I have to do is dodge and fire back with Dual Chop!"

"Dragonite!" Lance shouted as he watched his Pokemon take the hits. "Shake it off and wait for Scizor to punch first. That's when you'll be able to Ice Punch back!"

"Punch moves aren't the only thing I can't do," Scizor smirked as he appeared out of nowhere from behind Dragonite.

"What?!" Lance yelled in shock.

"Dragonbreath!" Scizor shouted while firing dragon energy from his pincer. Dragonite was getting beaten badly.

"Dual Chop? Dragonbreath?" Lance wondered. What kind of Scizor can use those moves?

"Me, of course," Scizor answered, "the strongest Scizor in the world!"

"I'm impressed," Lance complimented. "But aren't there stronger Dragon type moves out there for you to use?"

"My ability Technician powers up weak moves, so it's no problem for me at all!" Scizor boasted. "But it certainly will be a problem for you."

Lance was trying to act calm on the outside, but deep inside he was struggling. "Moves like that mean that Scizor's potential must be limitless," Lance thought to himself. "If I use that move now, Scizor would likely adapt to surpass Dragonite's speed and outclass Dragonite even more! I have to find a way to beat Scizor in an area other than raw speed in power. Wait, is that thing on Scizor what I think it is? I think I have a way to win now. It may be risky, but I'll have to trust in this plan wholeheartedly if I want to have a chance."

"Dragonite, use Draco Meteor!" Lance commanded.

"I'll just dodge them all again," Scizor responded, "and fire back even harder!"

After swiftly avoiding each of Dragonite's Draco Meteors, the shiny Scizor went straight in for Dragonite and slugged it with a barrage of rapid strikes. Blow after blow, Thunder Punch after Thunder Punch, Dual Chop after Dual Chop, Dragonbreath after Dragonbreath. It didn't take long before Dragonite weakly fell to the floor.

"Darn," Lance sighed, "guess Dragonite was too weak."

"Ha!" Scizor taunted at Lance. "Your Dragonite's hands are on my feet, and it has completely flopped flat on the floor! I have emerged superior!"

"Yep," Lance congratulated, "you really are stronger."

"With this victory sealed, my master Malamar X will have no problem at all conquering the Johto region," Scizor proudly declared. "Now it's time to – "

It was then that Scizor was in for a shock.

"Wait, why can't I move my legs?" Scizor grunted. "Why I can't I fly?!"

"Well as you said yourself," Lance smirked, "Dragonite's hands were literally on your feet."

"What does that have to do with anything," Scizor said as he looked down. "Wait…WHAT?! MY LEGS ARE FROZEN?! SINCE WHEN DID YOU TELL DRAGONITE TO FREEZE ME?! AND DID DRAGONITE REALLY HAVE THAT MUCH STAMINA?!"

"That last Dragonbreath attack of yours created a lot of smoke and sound," Lance explained. "It was the perfect chance to tell Dragonite to pretend being fainted so that he could use Ice Punch to freeze you. I guess there's not much of a gap between Dragonite and you."

"That's it," Scizor angrily raged after kicking Dragonite away, "I'm going to show you what I'm really capable of! Mega Evolve!"

"Now's my chance!" Lance said while watching Scizor being to transform. "Dragonite, use Extreme Speed combined with Fire Punch and rush him with everything you've got! Fire those punches until Scizor is no more – finish this once and for all!"

"Argh," Scizor raged while transforming, "I forgot I'm vulnerable when I mega evolve! But since when did Dragonite have this speed?!"

Scizor tried to do everything it could to block or dodge Scizor, but it was no use. Scizor was still slowed from its frozen legs and Dragonite's Extreme Speed was something Scizor was completely unprepared. The vulnerable Scizor took the flurry of powerful 4x effective Fire Punches and eventually fell flat on the floor.

"Yes!" Lance cheered. "Great job Dragonite!"

"Congrats," Scizor weakly told Lance. "You beat me."

Lance looked back at the Wallace Cup stadium and hoped that all the fighting would have stopped, but the trainers were still fighting the hypnotized army as usual.

"Aren't you the commander?" Lance questioned Scizor. "Why didn't the hypnosis stop when I beat you?"

"I guess Malamar decided to channel his hypnosis through another Pokemon after seeing me getting defeated," Scizor predicted. "But Malamar X can only 'change channels' with the region he's closest to (in this case Johto), and each hypnotic 'channel change' makes the regional effect weaker with each switch."

"Well at least the armies won't be as fierce now," Lance sighed with relief.

"That means nothing," Scizor told Lance. "Malamar's plan will be successful whether you like it or not!"

"Suit yourself," Lance told Scizor as he walked away. "Thanks for the battle."

When Lance made it back to the stadium, there were many questions about where he was and what he was doing. Lance explained to everyone the text message he received and how Malamar X channels his hypnotic powers through a commander in each region.

"I defeated that Scizor, but there's another 'commander' now," Lance told them. "But switching to a new commander has made the army weaker, so that's a relief."

"I agree," Clair said, "the hypnotized Pokemon are not as fierce now from how they're attacking."

While the Johto region was not completely at peace yet, defeating Scizor made things slightly better than before.

Unova's Subway Boss Saving

In the Unova region, the Subway Bosses Ingo and Emmet were prepared to take down commander Bisharp for good. After receiving a notification and packing up supplies, the two brothers sped off in their car and met up with Bisharp in front of the drawbridge.

"Just who are you two?" the shiny Bisharp asked.

"I'm Ingo," Ingo introduced while in his usual black conductor attire.

"And I'm Emmet," Emmet introduced while in his white conductor attire.

"We're the Subway Bosses, and you're going down!" Ingo and Emmet declared together.

"Ha, really?" Bisharp mocked. "I just defeated Unova's champion and you clowns think you stand a chance?"

"Of course!" Ingo boldy assured.

"That's why we're here!" Emmet declared with confidence.

"Chandelure, go!" Ingo yelled.

"Go Eelektross!" Emmet shouted.

"Guess I'll just make quick work of these annoyances," Bisharp sighed. "I'll just end them with two Stone Edge Blade slashes!"

Bisharp swiftly dashed towards Chandelure and Eelektross with his blades, but they emerged unaffected thanks to Eelektross's Acid attack and Chandelure's Psychic helping Eelektross out.

"Grr," Bisharp grumbled as he watched his unaffected opponents, "then I'll just have to speed it up with Aqua Jet!"

"Eelektross, use Thunderbolt!" Emmet commanded.

Bisharp tried to rush in as quickly as it could, but it was no use. Eelektross was able to land a clean Thunderbolt on the shiny Bisharp.

"Inconceivable!" the shiny Bisharp screamed as he picked himself up from the ground. "What happened to my exceptional attacking power?! What happened to my pure speed?!"

"We have you cornered Bisharp," Ingo declared.

"Our Battle Subway uses a device called a Level Limiter to equalize the level of all competing Pokemon," Emmet explained.

"And we decided it would be a good idea to bring it to this fight," Ingo added.

"You can forget pure speed," Emmet told Bisharp.

"Because we're going to beat you with pure skill!" Ingo declared.

"Fools," Bisharp smirked, "I am the strongest Bisharp in the world – I have moves no other Bisharp can learn! I still have loads of stat-boosting moves in my arsenal, and I'm going to start off with Dragon Dance!"

"Oh, that's right," Ingo realized.

"This won't be easy," Emmet commented.

With Bisharp's stats boosted, Bisharp was ready to charge back in. "Now take this Sacred Sword!"

"Eelektross no!" Emmet cried as he watched Eelektross get slammed into the ground.

"See that?" Bisharp smirked. "That's the power of the strongest - why am I burning?!"

"Great Will-o-wisp Chandelure!" Ingo complimented. "Now use Psy – "

SLASH!

"This burn condition may lower my attack, but Stone Edge is still a powerful move that is super-effective on fire types!" Bisharp explained. "Your Will-o-wisp did noth – "

ZAP!

"What?!" Bisharp screeched in shock. "I can't move?!"

"Great Thunder Wave Eelektross!" Emmet complimented. "I'm surprised it actually worked!

"Normally you can only be affected by one status condition at once," Ingo pointed out. "Does being special mean having weaknesses no other Bisharp has as well?"

"Curses," Bisharp grumbled. "Now both my speed and power has been significantly reduced."

"Let's finish it!" Emmet yelled to Ingo.

"Chandelure, use Overheat!" Ingo commanded.

"Use Discharge!" Emmet commanded his Eelektross.

Bisharp tried to run but he had nowhere to hide. He had no choice but to take the powerful Overheat and Discharge attacks that were headed straight towards him.

"I lost," Bisharp murmured as he lay weakly on the ground. "Y…you guys win."

"There's one more advantage we had on you that you forgot to mention," Ingo started.

"It was two against one," Emmet pointed out.

"A single person can only go so far when fighting alone," Ingo began.

"But when you work together, you can go further than before!" Emmet explained.

With commander Bisharp's quick defeat, all of the hypnotized Pokemon in the Unova region were freed. Wild Pokemon scurried back to where they came from and trainer-owned Pokemon immediately rushed back towards Nimbasa City to look for their trainers. Ingo and Emmet notified gym leader Clay about their victory and everyone in Driftveil City cheered – they would be safe from the invasion. The bustling Castelia City was on high alert when they heard of the invasion, but after an official announcement of peace was broadcasted by giant screens, everyone was relieved.

Ingo and Emmet drove back to Nimbasa City and met with Alder, Marshal, and Caitlin to tell them that they won. After being congratulated, Ingo and Emmet worked with Alder, Caitlin, and Marshal to help heal the injured and clean up the massive mess that was left behind.

"We may be at peace now," Alder told his fellow strong trainers, "but we should remain mentally cautious and prepared for other attacks just in case. Who knows what this hypnotizer will do next?"

"Right," Ingo, Emmet, Caitlin, and Marshal agreed.

Strategy of Sinnoh

Out of each of the regions, Sinnoh was the most prepared for the invasion. Cynthia, Lucian, Flint, Bertha, and Aaron were all able to make to Hearthome City in time. The Hearthome City gym leader Fantina also happened to be in town, and there were many strong trainers in the area that agreed to help out. With the champion and the Elite Four gathered in one area, they knew the issue was serious – it was easy to earn their respect.

The portal opened up right inside the Hearthome City contest stadium so it could not be used as a safe haven. Fortunately, this made it very easy to keep the emerging Pokemon confined to one area of the city – the rest of the city was fairly safe.

Having previous knowledge of the portal's location also allowed trainers to set up traps to weaken the Pokemon first or catch them by surprise. Strong trainers set up loads of Stealth Rock, Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and Sticky Web entry hazards to hinder and damage the Pokemon as they emerged. Trainers also showered Leech Seed, Infestation, Will-o-wisp, and Fire Spin attacks to slowly chip away at the hypnotized Pokemon's health. There were also trainers who paralyzed or froze large amounts of Pokemon at once. And if any Pokemon tried to quickly rush outside the stadium, there were many trainers surrounding the stadium area ready to stop them.

Sinnoh was handling the situation extremely well – surrounding the portal and focusing all their effort in one centralized location made for a very effective beatdown. But like the other regions, there was a regional commander they needed to defeat in order for the invasion to end.

"A new message?" Cynthia wondered while pulling out her phone.

"Defeat the commander and this invasion will be over!" Gary's text read. "Your commander in Sinnoh is a shiny Gallade."

"We'll definitely need to defeat this shiny Gallade then," Cynthia thought to herself. She was right in of the portal stopping the Pokemon that were emerging out. "I can see from this list that this message was sent to the other Elite Four, so I'm sure they'll target this Pokemon as well."

There was one Elite Four member stationed in front of each side of the Hearthome City stadium. The Bug-type Elite Four member Aaron was stationed in the north, Ground-type trainer Bertha was stationed in the west, Fire-type trainer Flint was in the east side, and Psychic-trainer Lucian was in the south of the stadium.

A few minutes later, the shiny Gallade commander finally made its move.

WHOOSH!

Everyone in stadium, including the hypnotized Pokemon, briefly paused their fighting because of how great the breeze was from the whoosh!

"What was that?" one of the trainers wondered.

"It was so fast that I couldn't even see what it was!" another trainer commented.

"That was a shiny Gallade," Cynthia announced to everyone. "It's the commander of this army and we need to defeat it if we want to end this invasion!"

"Wow Cynthia," a trainer praised. "You're super awesome to be able to see Pokemon going at blinding speeds!

Cynthia smiled at the brown-haired trainer but was very surprised when she saw the small yellow Pokemon

"A spiky-eared Pichu?" Cynthia noticed. "Wow, you don't see those everyday! What's your name?"

"My name's Callisto," Callisto responded. "I used to be a researcher for Team Galactic, but now I research elsewhere. My spiky-eared Pichu is super strong in battle so I immediately agreed to help when I received the message a few hours ago."

"Nice to meet you Callisto," Cynthia smiled. "I may want to talk to you more about that spiky-eared Pichu once this is all over. But right now we have worry about that Gallade, especially if he heads to other parts of the city."

"I made it out with no problems at all," the shiny Gallade smirked as it prepared to fly northward. "I'll admit all of those traps actually affected me a bit, but with a Pokemon as strong as me they're going to need as much of a handicap as they can get! Anyway, once I escape this area, Malamar's hypnotic powers will be free enough to finally be able to recruit wild Pokemon outside the city – we won't need to rely on the portal anymore."

Gallade began to fly north, but it was immediately stopped 3 seconds into his flight.

"Psychic powers?!" the immobilized Gallade said in shock.

"Use Psychic to throw Gallade straight down into the ground!" Aaron yelled. "We can't let it get away!"

Aaron immediately texted Cynthia and the other Elite Four trainers that Gallade was in his area. But as soon as he finished his text, he looked up to see that his Beautifly has been defeated.

"Beautifly!" Aaron cried. "No!"

"That was my Icicle Crash, but I use it like a blade since I'm the Blade Pokemon. Now if you'll excuse me," Gallade mumbled as he prepared to fly away.

"Not so fast!" Aaron yelled. "Drapion, use Pin Missile!"

"Sorry, but I have more important matters to attend to," Gallade calmly responded. He casually deflected each missile of the barrage one by one. He then swiftly rushed in to knock Drapion out with one slash.

"Drapion no!" Aaron cried. "And what kind of move is that?!"

"That was Precipice Blades, a ground-type move normally only known by the legendary Groudon. But I'm the strongest Gallade in the world! You see, any resistance is futile, so if you'll excu – "

"Rapidash and Infernape," Flint shouted, "use Flare Blitz!" The Pokemon were able to catch Gallade off guard and land a direct hit.

"Not bad," Gallade smirked as he took the hit. "But I'm still stronger!"

After Gallade slashed Flint's Rapidash and Infernape with Precipice Blades, Bertha entered the scene.

"What, Rock Blast?!" Gallade said as he was getting pelted by the blasts. He then proceeded to quickly knock Golem out with Precipice Blades.

"I admire your power and your ability to talk, but if you were more observant, you would have been able to dodge the Flare Blitz and Rock Blast attacks!" Bertha advised. "Now Hippowdon, use D – "

SLASH!

Gallade dodged Hippowdon's Dig attack and finished it off with Icicle Crash!

"I could feel that Hippowdon from a mile away – I'm more observant than you'll ever be!" Gallade boasted.

"Return Golem and Hippowdon," Bertha sighed.

Most of the trainers around the Elite Four were busy fighting off bird Pokemon escaping the stadium. But there were a few trainers that were helping the Elite Four take down Gallade. While they were unable to land a hit on Gallade, they did provide a lot of distraction for the commander.

"Well with I can fina – "

"You're not going anywhere," Lucian declared as he entered the scene. His Girafarig and Brozong were immobilizing Gallade using Psychic.

"Curses," Gallade grumbled.

"Girafarig, use Psybeam," Lucian commanded. "Hold him down with Psychic, Bronzong!"

"I don't have time for you fools!" Gallade raged as it knocked out Bronzong and Girafarig using Precipice Blades.

"It broke free from Psychic?!" Lucian said in shock. "Bronzong, Girafarig, return."

"So these were the Elite Four, huh?" Gallade said as he looked down on the four trainers from above. "With these strong trainers out of the way, escaping should be easy as p – "

BAM!

Gallade fell straight out of the sky after being hit by a powerful Dragon Rush attack from a Garchomp!

"What was that?" Aaron wondered.

"It's Cynthia!" Flint pointed out.

Cynthia vs Gallade

"There's still one more person here you're going to have to beat – me," Cynthia told Gallade as she walked out of the stadium.

"Ah yes," Gallade remembered. "The champion of the Sinnoh region. Once I get rid of you, the hypnotic powers channeling through me will be able to bring in wild Pokemon to our invasion. "

"You mean if you can get rid me," Cynthia smirked.

"That's it!" Gallade yelled angrily in response. "You think you're so strong? Well I'm not showing any mercy to you – take these Icicle Crash attacks!"

Gallade slashed and slashed, but when the smoke cleared Gallade was shocked to see that Garchomp had hardly taken any damage at all!

"You blocked my Icicle Crash with Brick Break?!" Gallade said in disbelief. "But ice types moves are supposed to be especially effective against a dragon and ground Pokemon like Garchomp!"

"Well my Garchomp is no ordinary Garchomp!" Cynthia told the shiny Gallade. "Now use Dragon Rush again!"

Gallade tried its best to dodge the Dragon Rush but to no avail – Gallade took the full impact of Dragon Rush in its entirety!

"I got hit by Dragon Rush again, I'm impressed," Gallade commended. "But you haven't even seen my full power yet – time to Mega Evolve!"

"That Gallade can Mega evolve on its own?!" Flint said in shock. "This is bad!"

After completing its transformation to its more powerful, caped form, Mega Gallade did not waste a single moment beating down on Garchomp.

PAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAAAAAA - PAWNCH!

"Oh no!" Lucian cried. "So fast!"

"This looks really bad!" Bertha commented.

"How did you like my multi-hit Extreme Speed attack?" Mega Gallade smirked.

"Unbelievable!" Aaron exclaimed in horror. "He still had a speedy move like that in his arsenal?!"

"Tsk," Cynthia grumbled, "Brace yourself and hang in there Garchomp!"

"If you think this is a lot," Mega Gallade informed confidently, "I'm just getting started! Time for you to take some more Extreme Speed!"

It was at this time that Callisto and his spiky-eared Pichu decided to run outside and watch the champion battle. He was horrified when he saw Cynthia's Garchomp getting brutally beaten!

"Oh no Cynthia!" Callisto thought to himself. "But I believe in you Cynthia - you can win this!"

After a few more Extreme Speed barrages, Mega Gallade was getting slightly irritated at how Garchomp was still standing.

"Still standing?" Gallade smirked. "Well you won't be for long once I unleash my ultimate move – Spacial Rend!"

"What?!" Aaron reacted.

"A move like that?!" Flint said in shock.

"I've heard only the space deity Palkia can use that move," Cynthia stated uneasily. "The slash is so powerful that it also rips the very fabric of space around the opponent!"

"But to think that this space-tearing move is being used by a mere Gallade," Lucian pondered. "This is inconceivable!"

"Well I am the world's strongest Gallade, so this should be no surprise!" Mega Gallade responded. "Time to dominate you even more than I've already have!"

"Oh no," Bertha sobbed.

"I can't look!" Callisto cried.

Mega Gallade boldly launched a powerful Spacial Rend towards Garchomp and dealt massive damage!

"Garchomp no!" Aaron cried.

"This last one should finish you off!" Mega Gallade declared while preparing a second strike. "Take th – "

CRACK!

"Huh?" Gallade wondered. He was completely frozen in the air, unable to move. He tried with all his might to lift his arm, but for some reason his arms wouldn't move an inch.

"WHY CAN'T I MOVE?!" Mega Gallade screeched. "And how is Garchomp completely fine?!"

"Did you forget you were paralyzed earlier?" Cynthia pointed out. "We had some trainers paralyze every Pokemon on their way out of the portal and that includes you. Looks like you can't handle your paralysis anymore! Still, I'm quite impressed how you were able to move at unfathomable speeds for so long. It's a good thing you were paralyzed – no one would have been able to hit you otherwise!"

"Thank goodness," Flint said in relief.

"I thought Cynthia was done for!" Lucian commented.

"But that's not all that was done to you," Cynthia added. "We set up Stealth Rock and Spikes to damage Pokemon on their way out. Toxic Spikes gave every Pokemon poison and there were trainers using Will-o-wisp right at the portal entrance to apply the burn condition. Trainers were even able Leech Seed every single to sap away their opponent's strength for themselves, and that's only one of the many residual damage conditions! And if you look around you, there are a handful trainers who have Pokemon with the ability Intimidate – combine that with your burn condition and your attack power has been greatly decreased. These side trainers may have seemed like weaklings to you, but their presence alone played a major role in taking you out!"

"No, no, this can't be," Gallade said worriedly. "If I had so many conditions on me all this time, then that means…"

"Finish this with Giga Impact!" Cynthia commanded.

Garrrr – CHOMPPP!

"NOOOOOO!" Gallade yelled in agony.

After taking so much residual damage, Mega Gallade was weak enough to be defeated by one powerful Giga Impact. The shiny Gallade reverted to its normal form and lay on the ground weakly.

"I can't believe it," Gallade coughed out softly. "I couldn't realize that I was getting weaker by the second – I kept fighting thinking that I was at full health. You guys win."

"Alright!" Callisto cheered. "Way to go Cynthia!"

"Great job Cynthia!" Bertha congratulated.

"I knew you could do it!" Aaron said happily.

"Don't give me all the credit though," Cynthia laughed. "If it weren't for everyone hindering Gallade's power, Gallade would have easily overpowered me! It's thanks to everyone here that I was able to win – great work guys!"

"Yeah!" everyone around Cynthia chanted.

"Looks like everything here is fine and back to normal now," Lucian said. He was looking all around the stadium area and saw that no more Pokemon were aggressively attacking. A quarter of all the hypnotized Pokemon were able to escape rampage outside the stadium walls so not every Pokemon was trapped inside the stadium.

"Yep," Flint agreed. "It's great to finally be done with this fighting."

Kalos Comeback

"It's a good thing Clemont labeled these portals for all of us," Misty pointed out.

"Sure is," Tracey said in agreement. "Ready to go?"

"Yep," Misty said, "let's do this!"

Misty and Tracey entered the portal to Anistar City ready to run to the sundial and assist the trapped elite trainers.

As they entered Anistar City, Misty and Tracey were surprised to see that there were only a few Pokemon left in the city.

"Wow," Misty said while looking around her, "this place is emptier than I thought."

"It must be because they've already succeeded in subjugating the city," Tracey concluded.

"Wait," Misty realized, "look over there!"

"Huh?" Tracey wondered as he turned his head.

Misty and Tracey looked towards the sundial and saw a sea of fire engulfing the floor. There was also an abundant amount of Pokemon guarding the area. Finally, they looked up on the top of the sundial and a saw a shiny Chesnaught casually sitting on top.

"That must be where the trapped trainers are," Tracey said.

"And there's that shiny Chesnaught the professor was talking about," Misty said.

"Let's go," Tracey told Misty.

"Right," Misty said back.

Misty and Tracey quickly ran to the sundial. But as soon as they got there, they were stop by an army of hypnotized Pokemon that were about to attack them!

"Stop!" the shiny Chesnaught yelled at his army. He then hovered off of his spot on the sundial and hovered right above his army. "Let them be."

After all of the hypnotized Pokemon stopped fighting, Chesnaught turned his attention to Tracey and Misty.

"So you're here to save these trainers?" Chesnaught laughed. "Go ahead, try to put out these flames."

"You're quite confident," Misty smirked. "Ok Politoed and Starmie, use Hydro Pump!"

The two water Pokemon blasted as hard as they could, but they were unable to put out the flames.

"I knew it!" Chesnaught cackled. "You see, this sea of fire will last for several turns; there's no way they can escape!"

But all of a sudden, the flames instantly vanished! The area around the sundial and the bridge leading to it were now completely flame-free.

"What?!" Chesnaught said in shock.

"Well it seems like those several turns of fire are over," Tracey said back.

"We're going to go those trainers now," Misty said as she ran off with Tracey.

Misty and Tracey made their way to Siebold, Malva, and Diantha and made sure they were feeling alright. They then quickly introduced themselves to each other. Misty and Tracey told them that they were the Cerulean City gym leader and Professor Oak's assistant respectively. But Misty and Tracey were in for a shock when they found out who they were talking to.

"Elite Four?!" Misty reacted with shock.

"Champion?!" Tracey also reacted with shock.

"No way!" Misty and Tracey exclaimed.

Chesnaught finally decided to stop watching them and hovered over to see if Misty and Tracey had any intention of stopping him.

"Ha," Chesnaught mocked, "are you two planning to stop me?"

"Of course!" Misty responded. "Politoed and Starmie, use Hydro Pu-"

WHACK! WHACK!

"Politoed! Starmie!" Misty cried. "Return!"

"Two Dynamic Punches was all that I needed to beat you Politoed and Starmie," Chesnaught stated. "Give up, I defeated the Kalos region champion so you have no chance."

"If this thing beat the Kalos champion, how are we of all people supposed to win?!" Misty told Tracey as she began to struggle.

"But if we don't stop him, there will be no one left! We have to find a way," Tracey affirmed as he put his hand on Misty's shoulder. "For now I would just send in your Gyarados whose Intimidate ability can lower its Attack stat. My Pokemon can't do anything but I'm sure you'll find a way! And don't forget we still have those devices."

"Right," Misty agreed as she threw out a Poke Ball. "Gyarados, let's go!"

Chesnaught did not care one bit about Gyarados's ability lowering his attack. "Try all you want but my Attack stat is just too immense – you could lower my Attack stat 6 times and it still wouldn't weaken me! The same goes for my speed! And don't forget I have special attacks! Wait, you're actually trying to lower my Attack stat six times?!"

Misty switched in her Gyarados back and forth to activate its ability six times while Chesnaught was talking!

"Well if you're as strong as you say you are, then this shouldn't be a problem for you!" Misty smirked.

"Wow," Diantha noticed in amazement, "That's quite the clever trick and it would have helped us a lot!"

"Good thinking Misty!" Tracey complimented.

"Well this isn't a formal Pokemon battle, so it only makes sense for you to take advantage like that," Chesnaught told Misty. "But as I said earlier, I still have my special attacks and status related moves – that trick isn't going to do anything!"

"Alright then," Misty began, "Gyarados, use Flamethrower!"

"Powder," Chesnaught casually said with a smirk while snapping his fingers.

As soon as Gyarados tried using Flamethrower, a powerful explosion occurred inside Gyarados's mouth and knocked it back!

"Gyarados!" Misty cried.

"Misty, Powder will do damage and completely halt a Pokemon that tries to use a Fire-type attack!" Tracey warned. "You have to try something else!"

"Wait, now's the perfect chance to use the device!" Misty said. "Use it once I Mega Evolve!"

"Oh, right!" Tracey said. "Just trust me on how I'm going to set this up – he won't even see it coming!"

"Trying to distract me? It won't make a difference!" Chesnaught pointed out. "Flamethrower's your best move you probably have against me. So as long as I have Powder on you, there's nothing you can do!"

"But can you handle the power of Mega Evolution?" Misty smirked. "Gyarados, Mega Evolve!"

"Mega Evolution again, huh?" Chesnaught laughed. "I could hear everything you two were saying so I'm not going to be foo – WHAT?!"

WHACK!

"Grr, it's a good thing I whacked that away in time," Chesnaught sighed in relief. "But seriously, you actually tried to capture me?!"

"Darn," Tracey said. "So close."

"So a Poke Ball was the special device?!" Chesnaught cackled. "Ha, you failed MISERABLY! I saw that weak device coming from a mile away!"

"Well at least we tried," Tracey told Chesnaught. "Okay Misty, get him!"

"Gyarados, use Hydro Pump!" Misty commanded.

"Weak water won't do a thing to me!" Chesnaught boasted as rushed and plowed straight through the Hydro Pump. "Take this Wood Hammer!"

"Switch to Whirlpool so you can spin yourself away to dodge!" Misty told her Gyarados.

Gyarados threw itself to the side to dodge, but it didn't bother Chesnaught one bit.

"Not bad," Chesnaught reacted. "But not good enough."

Chesnaught sidestepped and lunged towards Gyarados and landed one powerful Wood Hammer attack. Misty's Mega Gyarados was slammed down hard and weakly lay on the ground – it was already on the verge of fainting!

"If it weren't for your Attack lowering, that Gyarados would have been beat right now," Chesnaught smirked. "But this is just fine – now I can beat you with a true finishing move – Fire Grass Pledge!"

"Oh no!" Siebold cried.

"Watch out!" Diantha also cried.

"Take this!" Chesnaught cackled as he fired his attack.

Siebold, Malva, and Diantha covered their eyes – they couldn't bear to watch Misty lose.

"Looks like this is it," Malva sighed with her eyes closed.

"Guys look!" Tracey pointed out.

"Huh?" the three of them reacted while opening their eyes.

When they opened their eyes, they were delighted to see that the explosion was on Chesnaught's side and not Gyarados's!

"No, nooo, NOOOO!" Chesnaught squirmed while trying recover and pull himself together. He was frantically trying to wipe the powdery explosion of his face.

"Now's your chance!" Misty asserted. "Get up and use Flamethrower full power!"

Chesnaught was completely defenseless and could not dodge Gyarados's Flamethrower after Powder exploded right in his face. After taking the attack, Chesnaught was left burned.

"I, I'm burning?" Chesnaught looked at himself in horror as he stood up. "No, I should be fine, the fire just disappeared from me and this damage will only be inflicted periodically."

"Wow, I can't believe Chesnaught actually got burned!" Malva commented. "Usually the chance for Flamethrower to burn an opponent is very low!"

"No, this can't be," Chesnaught murmured in denial. "This all must be some kind of fluke – perhaps I should use two Powder attack this time! That way I can't get Flamethrowered again! In fact, I'll combine Powder with Seed Bomb so that I can inflict the finishing blow once and for all!"

"Look out, he's combining Powder with Seed Bomb this time!" Tracey alerted Misty as Chesnaught started preparing his attack. "You need to stop it or else Mega Gyarados will be done for!"

"Right," Misty agreed. "Gyarados, use Whirlpool to block the Seed Bomb!"

"Too slow!" Chesnaught cackled as he quickly zoomed behind Gyarados to get a clean shot. He then quickly extended his arms and fired a Powder Seed Bomb from each hand. "You'll regret burning me - take this!"

"NOOOO!" Siebold, Diantha, Malva, and Tracey all gasped.

An explosion twice as large occurred this time, and everyone braced themselves to accept Gyarados's defeat.

But when they looked up, they saw that the explosion was once again on Chesnaught's side!

"Powder exploded in Chesnaught face again?" Malva said puzzled.

"That's a relief," Diantha smiled.

"Impossible," Chesnaught "I didn't even use a Fire type attack!"

"It's probably because you're on fire yourself!" Misty pointed out.

"But doesn't Powder only work on Fire attacks?" Tracey questioned. "I thought burns don't count as Fire type moves."

"Status conditions could be a potential weakness of his," Siebold theorized. "This Chesnaught has extra special moves, but they probably come at an extra hefty cost."

"Grr," Chesnaught grumbled, "I'll just have to get serious and stop using Powder then! Take this Dynamic Punch!"

"Now's my chance!" Tracey realized as he watched Chesnaught being distracted by his burn condition. "Venonat, get Chesnaught from behind and use Sleep Powder!"

"Ha," Chesnaught laughed as he sidestepped.

"I don't think so," Misty smirked.

"Wait, wha – " Chesnaught shouted before he got drowsy. " I..I thought I d..dodged"

Chesnaught fell right to the ground fast asleep and continued to take damage from his burn condition.

"Alright!" Misty and Tracey cheered.

"Chesnaught can be burned and asleep at the same time?" Malva wondered. "I thought status conditions don't normally work like that!"

"I'm really starting to think that these Pokemon have a special weakness to status conditions now

"Well, it's a good thing he's asleep," Diantha smiled. "We can breathe peacefully for now."

"But when he wakes up, who knows if we'll be able to beat him?" Misty said worried.

"Maybe we should try to capture him," Tracey suggested. "He does seem like a wild Pokemon to me. He also seems to be very weakened at this point."

"Good idea," Diantha responded. "Ultra Ball, go!"

The Ultra Ball landed a direct hit on Chesnaught's hard body, opened up, and sealed Chesnaught inside. It shook once. It shook a twice. It shook three times. But right when it seemed like Chesnaught was going to be captured, the Ultra Ball snapped in half and Chesnaught broke free!

"Oh no!" all of them cried.

Chesnaught emerged from the Ultra Ball completely awake and no longer burned. However, Chesnaught was kneeling on the ground and was very weak.

"This, this can't be," Chesnaught sobbed. "Every turn I was burned, my attack got lower and lower. And every turn I was asleep, I took damage. How could all Sleep Powder of all things damage me? My burn condition must have been vulnerable to all forms of Powder and now I'm at the lowest possible health. But it's not supposed to be like that – it's not fair!"

"Just surrender," Misty declared. "There's nothing left for you to do."

"You're right, the only thing I can do is lose," Chesnaught admitted. "But you think the only thing you can do is win? Well you're wrong! I'm taking you all down with me – the Kalos region will be no more!"

Chesnaught quickly raised his hands in the air and charged up a full power Explosion attack capable of wiping out the entire Kalos region!

"What?!" the trainers screamed.

"We're doomed!" Tracey panicked.

"This ends now!" Chesnaught proclaimed. "Take th – "

Psy.

"Huh?" Chesnaught said as he turned around.

Psy.

"PSYDUCK?!" the trainers all gasped.

"What are you doing here?!" Misty yelled. "I only brought 5 Pokemon here and I don't remember you being one of them!"

"Ah, trying to Disable my Explosion, right?" Chesnaught chuckled before going back to being angry. "Well that's not going to happen so get lost!"

Chesnaught swung a tremendous Wood Hammer right on Psyduck's head to try to knock it away. However, Psyduck stayed completely still and started wailing as its headache got extremely harsh.

"HA!" Chesnaught mocked. "How do you like th – WHY CAN'T I MOVE?!"

PSY.

"Alright!" Tracey cheered. "Psyduck's psychic headache powers saved the day!

"Go get him Psyduck, use Confusion!" Misty commanded.

Psyduck used its Confusion attack to lift Chesnaught high in the sky, spin him multiple times in midair, and slam him down to the ground! Psyduck was even able to inflict the confused status condition onto Chesnaught! After its attack, Psyduck used its Psychic powers to snatch an Ultra Ball from Diantha's pocket.

"Why did an Ultra Ball just fly out of my pocket?" Diantha wondered. "Wait, is that Psyduck actually trying to catch Chesnaught?!"

After Psyduck used its Psychic abilities to throw the Ultra Ball, the ball landed a direct hit on Chesnaught's hard body, opened up, and sealed Chesnaught inside. It shook once. It shook a twice. It shook three times. And this time, the capture of Chesnaught was a success.

"ALRIGHT!" the trainers cheered.

"Way to go Psyduck!" Misty praised.

"That Psyduck sure is something else," Malva smiled.

"I'd love a Psyduck like that," Siebold said in awe. "Would you like to trade it for one of my Water Pokemon?"

"I wouldn't trade Psyduck for the world," Misty responded as she hugged her Psyduck.

The trainers looked around them and saw that things were finally getting better in the Kalos region. All of the fighting stopped and all of the wild hypnotized Pokemon went back to being normal. The Kalos region was finally at peace.

"I can't thank you two enough," Diantha smiled gratefully. "That Chesnaught proved to be no match for your creativity and determination. If it weren't for you two, we would have all been doomed."

"Thanks Diantha!" Misty and Tracey responded.

"But I have to ask, how did you two manage to reflect the Powder right back at Chesnaught?" Siebold wondered.

"It's because of this," Misty said while holding up a wallet sized chip.

"Our friend invented this badge like device that can reflect any status moves that are thrown at us, just like the move Magic Coat!" Tracey explained. "He also gave us two Mirror Coat devices, but we unfortunately used both of them up on the way here."

"He's Clemont of the Lumiose City Gym, so you guys might know him!" Misty added.

"Wow, that's awesome!" Malva marveled.

"Very impressive," Siebold smiled.

"Well, we'll be heading back to the Johto region now," Tracey told them all.

"We're going to see if there's anything we can do to stop this mastermind Malamar that's behind all of this!" Misty told the three Kalos trainers.

"Good luck to the both of you," Malva said to them.

"Just remember that you guys are carrying around that Chesnaught in an Ultra Ball now," Diantha warned. "Be sure to handle him with caution."

"Got it," Misty and Tracey responded before they waved and walked off. "Nice meeting you guys!"

"Thanks for the help!" the Kalos trainers shouted back.

And so, Misty and Tracey walked towards the portal and were very proud that they were able to help save the Kalos region. But they also knew that the battle was not over yet – they were far from giving up and were mentally prepared to continue fighting until the very end.

Rowan's Reporting

Professor Rowan and Gary watched as all the battles unfolded and was delighted to see that many of the regions had successfully defeated their commanders.

"Lance in the Johto region did a fine job freezing Scizor to get the win," Professor Rowan began. "Those two subway trainers in the Unova region both burned and paralyzed the Bisharp commander. Our region, Sinnoh, had many Pokemon set up entry hazards and status conditions to hinder the hypnotized Pokemon right from the start. Are you noticing what I'm noticing Gary?"

"Sure am," Gary responded. "All them got taken down by status conditions!"

"I'm now almost certain that status conditions are the weaknesses of these insanely powerful commanders," Professor Rowan stated. "It will be useful knowledge for the Kanto and Hoenn regions."

"But professor, Hoenn just got defeated!" Gary pointed out. "Their champion Steven couldn't beat the Cacturne commander that was there!"

"What?!" Professor Rowan panicked as he looked at one of the computer screens. Sure enough, Steven and the Hoenn Elite Four were all sitting down hopelessly in defeat.

"What are we going to do?" Gary asked Professor Rowan.

"We're going to call the airship trainers for some more backup," Professor Rowan answered. "I'm thinking we'll use May and the Blaziken Mask guy – their Blazikens will be able to burn Cacturne and exploit its weakness!"

"But what about that Malamar?" Gary questioned. "Won't that battle need all the help they can get?"

"Right now, the entire Hoenn region is in danger if we allow Cacturne's army to advance!" Professor Rowan insisted. "We must prioritize the safety of the region's citizens."

Meanwhile on the airship, Team Pikachu was fighting extremely hard! As they quickly continued down the hallways and got deeper into the airship, the number of guard Pokemon charging towards them continued to increase. But after endless fighting off swarms of guard Pokemon and traps, they finally made it to the elevator.

"This is it guys," Clemont announced. "Once we go up this elevator, we'll be in Malamar's chamber."

All of a sudden, May and Blaziken Mask got messages from Professor Rowan.

"May and Blaziken Mask," Professor Rowan informed, "I'm going to have to send you two down for backup – Lilycove City in Hoenn needs your help. There's a Cacturne commander that needs to be defeated before it's too late! Its weakness involves any status conditions, so it is imperative that we get Cacturne burned! I chose you two since your Blazikens will be the perfect Cacturne counter – good luck."

"Got it," May and Blaziken Mask replied.

"Professor Rowan told May and I to go down and help the Hoenn region," Blaziken Mask told everyone.

"Here, take these extra Mirror Coat and Magic Coat devices just in case," Clemont said with his hand out. "Remember that these items will break after one use, so use them wisely.

"Thanks son – I mean Clemont!" Blaziken Mask said while grabbing the devices.

"Be sure to defeat Malamar and save Pikachu," May told Ash.

"Yep, we're going to save Pikachu no matter what," Ash assured May.

May and Blaziken Mask got their parachutes ready and dashed back out to the airship's entrance. Even though Team Pikachu was deep inside the, May and Blaziken Mask had no trouble leaving the airship with little to no guard Pokemon to interfere.

"Looks like they've successfully parachuted off," Professor Rowan observed.

Just then, Professor Rowan got a call from Tracey and Misty.

"Hey Professor Rowan!" Misty called out.

"We defeated the Chesnaught commander by burning and confusing him," Tracey explained. "Then we captured him in Ultra Ball!"

"That's great, I heard all about your fantastic battle," Professor Rowan smiled. "Now go and meet up with May and Blaziken Mask – the Hoenn region is danger so I'm sending them down to help."

"Got it," Misty and Tracey replied. After Professor Rowan wished them luck, Misty and Tracey stepped inside the portal to Blackthorn City and began walking to the stadium.

Malamar's Madness

Inside Malamar's chamber, Malamar was not happy with how things were going.

"My Johto, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos commanders were all defeated?!" Malamar X screeched. "Curse them for being so weak."

Malamar had two Haxorus beside him as his personal aides and bodyguard.

"They have all been taken down due to their weakness to status conditions," one Haxorus grunted.

"Master Malamar, are you sure it was okay to give them all an absurd moveset?" the other Haxorus questioned.

"I'll let it slide at this point – they've caused more than enough damage and have served their true purpose as a distraction," Malamar sighed. "Still, having conquered regions would've been nice."

"Wait," one of the Haxorus questioned. "You mean conquering the regions isn't your true goal of the invasion?!"

"Of course not!" Malamar cackled while preparing his computer screens to show his bodyguard. "In reality, things are still going perfectly just as I planned! Take Sinnoh region for instance. Even though Cynthia defeated commander Gallade, we – wait – IS THAT WHO I THINK IT IS?!"

"What's wrong master Malamar?" one of the Haxorus asked.

"No way," Malamar X said in anger. "That's Callisto, the trainer who abandoned me! And he's still with that disgusting spiky-eared Pichu!"

"Ouch," the other Haxorus responded. "So what do you plan on doing with him, master?"

"Now that I'm stronger I can finally get my revenge!" Malamar cackled angrily. "I'm going to unleash Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina on him and the entire Sinnoh region!"

The Space-Time Siege on Sinnoh

"Yep," Flint agreed. "It's great to finally be done with this fighting."

The trainers in Sinnoh finally had some peace were finally able to rest. Or so they thought. Just a couple of minutes after Gallade's defeat, the entire Sinnoh region was about be in grave danger!

"What with this rumbling?!" Flint wondered.

"Are we being invaded again?!" Aaron frantically shouted.

Another portal emerged from the sky. Dark storm clouds gathered, and the violently ground shook as if an earthquake was going on. Dozens of building windows shattered. Hundreds of trainers outside screamed and desperately tried to find shelter. It was all the work of the Sinnoh deities Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina, and a few energy blasts alone were enough to send the entire Sinnoh region into chaos!

"What going on?!" Gary panicked. The entire laboratory building was shaking from the emergence of the three legends!

"It's Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina!" Professor Rowan shouted back. "Malamar has decided to unleash them all on the Sinnoh region!"

"The time and space legendary Pokemon are here?!" Callisto gawked.

"How are we supposed to stop that?" Lucian worried.

With the legends' grand entrance complete, Malamar X channeled his voice through Palkia and began speaking to the entire Sinnoh region. "For those of you in Sinnoh who don't already know, I am Malamar X and I am the one behind Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina's rampage here. They have all been hypnotized by my unmatched mind controlling powers and my grand scheme. Now, I was once a happy Pokemon, living happily with my Team Galactic trainer and learned all that there was to space and time. But, I came to learn the horrors of our current era in space-time: the true relationship we have with humans and how they treat us like nothing but slaves in the end. My original trainer who is in Hearthome City has proven my point through the dreadful deed of throwing me away. And because of that, I will make it a point to destroy both my trainer and everything about him! I've been angry at you for long enough - farewell Sinnoh region, and farewell Callisto!"

"I'm, I'm so sorry Malamar!" Callisto cried with his hands and knees on the ground. "I didn't mean any hate towards you, I really didn't! I've learned my lesson now – please have mercy!"

"That not true!" Bertha protested. "Pokemon are our friends!"

Malamar then adjusted his powers to speak only to the elite trainers in Hearthome City standing outside the stadium. "Oh really? I'll tell you what, I will stop their rampage if Callisto and his Pichu gets killed soon by any of the trainers here," Malamar X pointed out. "But until then, the Sinnoh region will be continued to be destroyed until there's nothing left!"

"Unbelievable," Cynthia scoffed. "How could you?!"

"Curse that Malamar!" Callisto yelled while crying. "If we can just stop him this will all be over!"

"Oh I don't think so," Flint said while furiously turning against Callisto. Many other trainers also turned their heads and stared intensely. The blasts and space-time energy from the legendary Pokemon began wiping out entire chunks of Sinnoh's cities, so the worried trainers were all anxious to get this battle over with.

"If it's to save the lives of everyone else, then you HAVE to go!" Aaron yelled angrily. "Your Pichu's life means nothing!"

"Stop it!" Bertha yelled back while standing in front of Callisto to defend him. "You're only proving his point about Pokemon being mere slaves! Don't you guys realize how precious life is?!"

"She's right," Lucian agreed while also standing in front of Callisto. "There has to be a better way."

"Excellent," Malamar thought to himself deviously while watching from his airship. "They're now fighting against each other – they'll be too busy to resist me!"

"What better way is there?!" one elite trainer shouted.

"This is the best way!" another trainer yelled.

"We can't win against Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina!" another trainer pointed out.

"If we don't do this, we're all going to die!"

"Besides, revenge on Callisto is all that the Malamar wanted!"

"Let's just end this now!"

Flint put his hand out and pointed out how everyone agreed with him. "See that? Nearly everyone here agrees that both Callisto and his Pichu have to go. Thousands of lives are at stake with every second that passes by!"

"Just sacrifice yourself for the sake of everyone else!" Aaron yelled.

"You've been nothing but a no-good Team Galactic criminal anyway!" one of trainers furiously added.

"End your life on a good note and save us all!" another trainer yelled.

"Well you're all going to have to get through me!" Cynthia yelled while defending Callisto. "I won't stand for killing other humans and Pokemon – I'd rather die with honor than become a murderer!"

"So be it," Flint responded. "Infernape, go!"

"You too Vespiquen!" Aaron called out.

All of the other trainers sent out their Pokemon too, including Cynthia, Bertha, and Lucian. Things were not looking pretty for the Sinnoh region.

Now that they've reached the airship elevator, can Team Pikachu defeat the Mighty Malamar X? Will May and Blaziken Mask be able to successfully take down commander Cacturne? How is the Kanto region holding up? What will the Sinnoh region do about the shiny Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina's destructive rampage? And most importantly, will Ash save his Pikachu? Find out in the next chapter of Saving Pikachu!

The elite trainers of Sinnoh began viciously clashing. Friend turned against friend - the trainers who sided with Flint and the ones with Cynthia heartlessly fought against each other. The side defending Callisto was heavily outnumbered, but Cynthia's Garchomp alone was more than enough to keep Callisto safe.

"Tsk, tsk, that Garchomp is making this Callisto killing take too long," Malamar grumbled from his airship throne. "Dialga and Palkia, use Aura Sphere on Cynthia and her Garchomp!"

Garchomp was in grave danger and Cynthia didn't even see the Aura Sphere coming!

"Cynthia, look out!" Callisto yelled.

"What?!" Cynthia said as she turned her head as she finally noticed the incoming blasts.

"Cynthia!" Lucian and Bertha cried.

"Darkrai, use Dark Pulse! Mega Latios, use Luster Purge!" a mysterious man called out. The powerful Luster Purge and Dark Pulse attack swiftly deflected the Aura Sphere blasts away from Cynthia.

"That was a close one," Bertha sighed in relief.

"But who are you?" Lucian wondered while looking in the sky.

"The name's Tobias," the man answered boldly as he jumped off his Mega Latios. "I won the Sinnoh League a while ago and it was only about me. But this fight is for everyone. This crucial fight is for the entire Sinnoh region and I will do everything in my power to help!"
