England's POV

When we reached the compartment I was glad to discover that the infernal rat had disappeared.

"So I have a question. Why does Matthew have a polar bear and Alfred have an eagle?" Ron asked. I understand why he asked. Even in the wizarding world polar bears and eagles are rare pets. Matthew entered behind me and had heard the question. Thankfully he responded for me. "I have had Kumacheackers for all my life and Alfred has had Freedom since he was a hatchling."

Ron peered at Kumajiro as if he might suddenly disappear. For all I know he might. "Your pets have really weird names." Francis and Alfred chose that moment to enter the room and Alfred responded with mock hurt.

"Freedom is a great name for an eagle! Mattie, that bear's name is Kumajiro." He looked back at his audience. "Mattie never remembers his bear's name." Before any more question can be asked, I leveled him with my most potent glare.

"Care to explain what happened back there, Alfred?" Alfred looked down like he always does when he knows what he did was wrong and mumbled,

"He called me a Mudblood and other stupid things." Harry looked confused but Ron's eyebrows rose in recognition and his eyes narrowed in anger. Harry doesn't know the nature of the insult until Ron explained in a clipped tone. Harry's face distorted in anger as well. The train stopped before any more questions could be asked.

Canada's POV

Once we got off the train, a giant of a man boomed, "First years over here!" Harry mentioned that his name was Hagrid. He was the one that told Harry he was a wizard. I wonder why they didn't get a wizard family to raise him. It would have been easier on Harry if he had known about magic and not have this all pushed on him at once.

We- Alfred, Arthur, Francis, and I- hopped into one of many boats on a small pier. Once we got to the school which looked cool, I saw a little problem. There were ghost here. You can guess Alfred's reaction.

"AH! GHOST! ARTIE YOU DIDN'T TELL ME THERE WAS GHOST HERE!" Alfred yelled and held on to Arthur tightly. I'm sure everyone in the school heard that. Everyone was looking at my brother like he was crazy. Draco smirked. Uh-oh; he found Alfred's main weakness.

"You git, get off of me. A few ghosts won't kill you." Arthur yelled. Alfred let go of Arthur but stayed close. Francis and I know why he is afraid of ghosts.

When Alfred was a colony, malevolent poltergeist followed him everywhere almost driving him insane with fear. After about a month, Arthur finally found out and cast a powerful shield to keep the ghost away. Arthur said that the ghost were attracted to my brother's inner strength and innocence.

We went into the Great Hall, which is big. It has a fake sky; it looks real but I know the real sky and this was not it. As we entered the Great Hall most of the students already seated were studying us probably to find the person who had yelled in the Entry Hall.

We sat down Alfred forgetting his earlier fright to study our new surrounding and then to peer at an old looking hat that was on a stool.

After everyone had settled in, the hat began singing. Alfred freaked out and crushed me in what he calls a hug. I'm so use to it that my ribs didn't break, though they still ached in protest. That is one good thing with hanging out with Alfred, your bones become really hard to break.

Oh you may not think I'm pretty,

But don't judge on what you see,

I'll eat myself if you can find

A smarter hat than me.

You can keep your bowlers black,

Your top hats sleek and tall,

For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat

And I can cap them all.

There's nothing hidden in your head

The Sorting Hat can't see,

So try me on and I will tell you

Where you ought to be.

You might belong in Gryffindor,

Where dwell the brave at heart,

Their daring, nerve, and chivalry

Set Gryffindors apart;

You might belong in Hufflepuff,

Where they are just and loyal,

Those patient Hufflepuffs are true

And unafraid of toil;

Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,

if you've a ready mind,

Where those of wit and learning,

Will always find their kind;

Or perhaps in Slytherin

You'll make your real friends,

Those cunning folks use any means

To achieve their ends.

So put me on! Don't be afraid!

And don't get in a flap!

You're in safe hands (though I have none)

For I'm a Thinking Cap!

France's POV

A hat that can sing; I have seen weirder things. The lady from when he entered the castle, came out with a scroll. As she read off the names of students they would go up to the hat and the hat shouted out one of the names of the four houses. Harry, Ron, and Hermione were put in Gryffindor. Draco was surprisingly put into Slytherin- not. Finally it is our turn. Arthur was called first.

Arthur' POV

"Oh, a nation, I haven't sorted one of you before. Don't worry your secret is safe."

"Thank you." Arthur whispered gratefully.

"Now let's see where you belong. You have a high pride and you have a high ambition. You are a good leader. You are also very smart, brave, and loyal. That comes with being a nation so I have to pick which one trait you have that overpowers the others."

"It must be hard. I have much more experience in life than the usual student here."

"Yes. You have a lot in your head. The students here have never fought in any wars or killed people before. I am going to ignore the killing people part."

"I didn't sign up for that. I was expected to do it like all of the other nations."

"I know but it is still hard. I think Slytherin would be best. They need someone to put them in their places and you can spy on them. I would pay special attention to Draco Malfoy."

"Thank you for the advice. Listen can you be easy on Alfred. This is weird for him and he is really scared."

"I will. I have seen your memories. I can't believe that happened. No wonder he has distrust in magic. I hope he gets over it."

"Me too, that is part of why I brought him here."

"One more thing before you go. You seem to be blocking off part of your mind."

"Oh that. I can hear everything that my people are doing in my country. It can get annoying so nations tend to block it. Nations have good mental shields. It helps protect ourselves and our secrets from being found out. Even if someone broke through, they need to find my memories and not my countrymen's. It can be hard with so many voices.

"Slytherin!"

France's POV

"Don't worry your secret is safe."

"Thank you." I said slightly surprised.

"Now let's see, your top traits are your loyalty and your wisdom."

"You don't live as long I do and not gather something useful."

"Yes, though I'm avoiding the sexual parts. I have never thought I would say that to a student."

"I'm the nation of love."

"I think your loyalty is a little stronger than your wisdom. Question: If you are the nation of love then why don't you confess your love for Matthew?"

"He sees me as his papa. Also he doesn't deserve me. I gave him up."

"You were forced to do that and you still got to see him many times."

"I forget him sometimes."

"Everyone appears to do that. You make up for it."

"Well, I'm not going to risk losing Matthew. Also, be easy on Alfred."

"Also, why did you not say anything about your loyalty?

"Alfred, Arthur, Matthew, and I are a family. No matter what. We are the most loyal to our little family group. If you hurt one of us, you will have the other three on your heels."

"Hufflepuff!"

Canada's POV

"Don't worry your secret is safe."

"Thank you." I was surprisingly not unsettled by a talking hat.

"You are like Francis. Both loyalty and wisdom are your top traits."

"I have to make sure my brother doesn't do something stupid. To get him to listen you need to think creatively."

"I see, just like Francis. You and your brother are close but you wish to be out of his shadow."

"It gets on my nerves sometimes and I hate being beaten up by people thinking I'm him. I brought it up once and he said he was envious of me since I wasn't hated."

"He doesn't know that the nations don't truly hate him. He does make up for it."

"I wouldn't wish for a different brother."

"Nations are interesting."

"Be easy on Alfred."

"You and the other two both said that."

"We are loyal to many but I'm most loyal to the other three and it is the same for the others."

"RavenClaw!"

America's POV

"Don't worry your secret is safe."

"Uh, thanks."

"You are nervous."

"You saw Artie's memories so you know why."

"I do. Let's see where you belong. That is weird."

"What?"

"This has never happened before. You can fit into any of the houses. The traits stand out more in certain situations but overall you are perfectly balanced."

"Is that bad?"

"No, all that means I have to really think to place you. Why are the other three glaring at me?"

"I'm looking freaked out and they are protective and they hate anyone that causes me to freak. They know my hatred of magic."

"I saw. It was hard in Arthur's memory but yours is worse."

"You are getting what really happened, not what I told Iggy."

"Why do act the way you do around the others at the meets?"

"You should know it. I do so they don't fear me. If they think I can't come up with a plan to destroy them then my people our safe. I play the idiot and even hear I will do it"

"You nations care for your people."

"They are the reason we exist and we can't put anything before their safety."

"You seem to not to do that in some situations."

"I follow my heart. My "real" heart not D.C. Do not get me wrong, I want my citizens to be safe, but I will misbehave if I want to. I did that in the 70's. "

"I have made my choice. Since you need to protect Harry, someone needs to watch him. Your obsession with heroes makes you perfect for this house."

"Gryffindor!"

In Another Dimension

People were clapping. The person with the hat took forever. He was placed in Gryffindor. He went and sat down across for Harry.

Harry said "Hello Allen."

"Hey." This is stupid. My 1p is flipping now, I can feel. The things I do for Oliver.

I put each nation into a different house.
