A/N: I decided to post this here, since this IS a HBRC drabble series, and it was one of my first stories on this site. And if this collection hadn't gotten that much attention to begin with, I would have stopped writing when I had finished this collection. Thanks to you guys I have now 210 stories more. :) With that, I have an announcement to make.
After spending time on this site for more than 8 years, I'm (finally) going to stop writing fanfiction. I will of course do my best to finish Amnesia Completa, my longest Terqua fanfic so far, and Wishing Radiance, Dreaming Hollow (a drabble collection that is focused on Radiant Garden/Hollow Bastion and everyone who's ever been there), but unless I feel a sudden urge to post a one-shot (and let's face it, that happens about twice a year), I will not focus on anything else but my original work. I will still lurk and reply to messages and such, but I won't finish any of my other ongoing stories (never say never, though).
That being said, I'd like to take this moment to thank each and every one of you who ever read my stories, and/or reviewed, favorited and followed my work. You have helped me grow more than you can imagine. After this, I feel confident enough to finally finish my book and look for a way to get it published. If you'd like, I will keep you guys updated through my page on here. :)
I kinda feel like I'm spamming the KH Just In page, and the inbox of my followers. XD I'm so sorry for that. This drabble takes place at Traverse Town, before KH1. Enjoy! :)
~ "I'm not fat." ~
"Yuffie, what are you doing?" Aerith asked curiously, after noticing that the usually hyper ten-year-old had been playing a little too silently in the snow.
It seemed that she was building four fat pillars. But it could be rodents for all she knew.
"I'm building the snowmen version of our new family," she explained excitedly, to which Aerith canted her head to the side.
Maybe if she'd squint really hard, she would see the resemblence eventually. Which one of those was she supposed to be, anyway? Hopefully not the one in the right corner; that one was the most hideous of all. Of course, Aerith was far too polite to tell the little girl the truth. It would break her heart.
"Oh... Care to introduce me to them?" Aerith asked, genuinely interested now.
"Sure thing! This is chain smoker Cid, like duh... This is me of course."
"Of course," Aerith said with a nod, although she had no idea what part of the heap of snow qualified as one of Yuffie's trademark characteristics.
Perhaps the fact that it was the smallest snowman compared to the others.
"This one, with the long braid and the flower basket, is you, Aeri. And this pretty boy here is Squall-"
"Leon," was all the silent teen, who leaned against a near wall, said.
Yuffie, however, went on as if she didn't get interrupted at all, "And if you don't recognize him by the scar, you can always tell by the permanent frown on his face. See?"
The raven-haired girl pointed at what Aerith guessed was the snowman's face. Leon said nothing at first, silently watching the deformed snowman. For a moment, Aerith feared for the worst, because as of lately, Leon could get flatout furious over the smallest things. It was one of the scariest things she'd ever witnessed, including the fall of Radiant Garden, their homeworld.
Then... "I'm not fat."
Yuffie seemed to take deep offence to that, for she exclaimed, "That's your sixpack, you dumbass!"
"Yuffie!" Aerith cried in shock.
"Well it's true, isn't it? Geez, Squall. Never heard of imagination before?"
Leon seemed to think hard for a response, until... "Whatever."
"That's all you can come up with? Lame-sticker for you!" she yelled after him, while the taciturn swordsman turned away and silently made his way back to the hotel again.
"Yuffie, that's enough," Aerith said, warningly.
Yuffie sighed. "Ugh. Yes, mom."
Everyone was a killjoy around here apparently. She certainly wasn't planning on changing into a boring teen like them when she grew up.
