Sarah's P.O.V

Sarah watched the sun as it slowly rose into the sky, its soft light slowly reaching out to illuminate the sleeping Labyrinth below.

She leaned her head on her arms as she stared out from her bedroom's balcony. Several days had passed since Jareth had taken her to the Mystic Grove and since then she hadn't seen much of the Goblin King. Not that Sarah was complaining, she dreaded spending more time with after their Kiss, but she couldn't help but admit that it would be nice to have someone to talk to other than Goblins. She hadn't heard anything from Alana since the Witch had told her she'd found her friends, she hoped they were doing ok.

Meep had told her that Jareth was off dealing with a minor skirmish on the edge of Labyrinth between some Water Nyxies and Grindylows. Sarah was grateful for his absence; she had used the time to search the Castle for another magical item she could use instead of the peach. It had been a futile endeavour, whilst the castle brimmed with hundreds of wondrous magical items, Sarah could not be sure which had been created by Jareth or contained his magic. Despite Jareth being away Sarah felt like she was being watched and had decided to play it safe and purposely stayed in the Castle hoping it would convince Jareth that she wasn't up to anything.

The Goblins had continued their game of 'Treasure hunting' but had still not found the peach. Sarah was beginning to despair of ever finding a magical item that could be used to send her home. Alana had said she'd given her a clue, but Sarah had spent most of nights since trying figure it out and was still no closer to doing so.

Sarah gave a loud sigh and pondered over what Alana had said.

'Perhaps your just not wishing hard enough to find it?' that's what the witch had said, but that was ridiculous, Sarah wanted nothing more than to find the peach and escape from Jareth's clutches.

Her eyes roved over the Labyrinth and she watched as it seamlessly shifted shape creating a rippling effect as the walls moved. The underground was a magnificent place if things had turned out differently she would have been thrilled to live here. A few weeks ago it would have been her deepest desire, her most fervent wish to be in a magically realm engaged to its King. It had always been biggest fantasy a dream that had helped her cope with the divorce of her parents, her Fathers re marriage and the birth of Toby. Now she had changed her mind and wanted nothing more than to return to the family she had once loathed. Funny how things changed she thought.

"And to think," Sarah thought aloud, "this all came about because of a stupid wish!"

Something clicked in Sarah's mind and she shot up startling a bird that had been roosting in a creeper plant next to her balcony.

"Wish! That's it!" Sarah exclaimed excitedly, spinning round she rushed back into her room and began tugging on clothes. She struggled with the laces on the gown and mentally cursed Underground fashion, what she wouldn't give for a good pair of jeans right now.

Finished dressing, Sarah hurried from the room and raced along the corridor and down the stairs.

"M'lady?' Greta squeaked has Sarah passed her in a hall way.

"Sorry Greta can't stop. I'm in a hurry!" Sarah called back over her shoulder and she continued to make her way through the Castle.

Reaching the castle entrance hall she skidded to a halt. Lying in front of the main door was a giant sleeping werewolf! At least that's what she thought it was. It was slightly humanoid in appearance but only just, the snout, teeth, claws and fur were most certainly wolf though.

Holding her breath Sarah backed away slowly careful so as not to wake the sleeping Wolf thing. She hid behind a pillar and frantically began to contemplate just how she was going to make it past Jareth's new guard dog without it waking up and eating her whole!

She peered back round the pillar to get another look at the huge beast. Sarah was aware that not everything in the Labyrinth was as it seemed but Sarah had a suspicion that this was slumbering creature was definitely as dangerous as it seemed. He was enormous, there was no way she could sneak round him and open the door without him working up. She'd have to find another way out.

Hearing a clattering noise coming from the stairs that led from the entrance hall to the Throne Room, Sarah quickly ducked back behind the pillar.

Two armour clad Goblin's descended the stairs and looked nervously towards the sleeping Fenrir.

"Go ons then," the first goblin said," Tells him!"

"Me?" the second Goblin replied, "whys I have ta tells him?"

"Cos yous bigger!" The first one answered.

"No I isn't!" the second retorted

"If one of you doesn't tell me want you want soon, I'm going to eat both of you!" a deep growling voice spoke. From behind the pillar Sarah trembled knowing that it was the voice of the wolf man who was now very much awake!

More rattling noise was heard from the armour of the two trembling Goblins as they turned to look at Fenrir who had opened one amber eye to glare at them.

"King back!" The first Goblin squeaked.

"Wants ya ta report ta him nows" The other continued.

"Well why didn't you say so!" Fenrir growled as he rose to his feet.

The two Goblins squealed as they fled back up the stairs.

Fenrir winced at the noise.

"I hate Goblins." He muttered as loped up the stairs to the Throne Room.

Cautiously Sarah peered round the pillar again, the coast looked clear, so she slowly made her way across the hallway to the main door. She stopped and listened to see if the wolf had heard her and was making his way back down the stairs. But she heard nothing but the beating of her own heart; quietly she opened the door and slipped out into the fresh early morning air.

It was still rather early so most of the Goblin city was still asleep, save for a few female Goblins who were making their way towards the Castle. They gave Sarah surprised looks when they saw her but just gave quick curtsies before hurrying past not wishing to be late to work.

Sarah picked up her skirts and resumed her hurried paced, picking her trough the jumbled city's narrow streets. Occasionally having to jump over a Goblin who had passed out drunk during the night.

In no time at all she had made her way to the gate and slipped out passed the sleeping guard.

She hurried forward into the Junk fields; once she had gone a little ways in she stopped and peered around.

She hoped that she was far enough away from Jareth that he would not hear her wish and that it would be granted by the Goblin's close by instead.

Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, Sarah prayed this would work.

"I wish…"

Jareth's P.O.V

Jareth was fuming. Two days! It had taken him two days to calm those water dwellers to cease fighting.

Two days he had lost with his beautiful bride to be and all because Grindylows had decided to encroach on Nyxie territory and refused to leave without a fight. In the end Jareth had given up listen to the two argue and had thrown the offending Grindylows into the Bog. Two days! He had planned on taking Sarah out to another place Unicorns frequented and seen if he could get a repeat kiss, but no, none of his subjects seemed to be capable of restraining themselves for long. At least they would quieten down for the next few days at least for fear that they too would end in the Bog.

He threw himself down into his chair behind his desk and stared around his study, it was reasonable tidy which meant that those little cretins hadn't been in here messing things up whilst he was away. He reached out and snatched some papers up from his desk and proceeded to read through them. It was an update on the wedding plans, almost everyone had now responded to invites with acceptance and the construction was well underway. Jareth smiled, in just a few short weeks his victory would be complete.

With a flick of his wrist he conjured a crystal and tossed at floor in front of his desk, with a flash it shattered and two Armor glad Goblins appeared.

"Fetch Fenrir, tell him I want a report on the goings on here in my absence now." He ordered and watched as the Goblins tripped over themselves in order to carry out his business. Yes for the next few days at least his Goblins would try to behaviour themselves.

He leaned back in his chair and propped his feet on his desk. He was eager to find out just what his Sarah had been up to in his absence. No doubt she had been hanging around that junk field again and with any luck Fenrir would have been able to figure out just what she was getting up to down there. He had questioned the Goblins before he left but they had been able to tell him nothing other than that it was a game and that sometimes Sarah judge who won and told them what to search for.

He scowled, he couldn't work out what she was up to and that frustrated him. He knew there was no way Sarah could escape but still, not knowing what she was planning unsettled him.

The squealing of Goblins from the Throne room alerted him to Fenrir's approach.

He smirked to himself as Fenrir loped into the room, having the fearsome wolf around was another thing that would ensure the obedience of his Goblins. The next creatures that caused mischief in his kingdom would have Fenrir to deal with he decided.

"Take a seat Fenrir." Jareth motioned to the chair opposite his desk. "I want a full update on what my future Queen has been up to."

"As I far as I can tell your little mortal hasn't been up to anything. She hasn't tried to sneak off nor has she returned to the Junk fields since the other day. In fact whilst you were gone she did not leave the Castle at all. She spent her time exploring the Castle and looking at the ancient magical artefacts you have lying around." Fenrir growled.

Jareth raised his eyebrows at this; it wasn't what he expected at all. He had thought that Sarah might have made a half-hearted attempt to run away or at least try something high spirited to defy him.

"She didn't go near the Junk Fields at all?" He queried, conjuring his riding crop from thin air and began to absentmindedly tap it against his leg.

Fenrir shook his furry head.

"If you Majesty as no further questions, may I be excused? I would like to get a bit more sleep before your mortal wakes and begins another day of trapesing around the Castle."

Jareth frowned and absently waved Fenrir from the room. Was he wrong perhaps? Was Sarah only going there to play with Goblins? He had to admit that she didn't have anyone else to keep her company when he wasn't around. Could she be playing with them as a way to amuse herself?

It was possible he supposed, although he would have to look into getting Sarah a suitable company in the future. It was appropriate for a Queen to spend her time playing with Goblins. Perhaps he could a companion for Sarah from one or two of the lesser fae. She would need ladies in waiting after all.

He smirked her lack of suspicious behaviour might mean that she was warming up to the idea of living here or at least begin to accept it.

"Well I think this deserves a drink!"

With a wave of his gloved hand a golden goblet appeared and he smiled. He humour had drastical improved since returning to the Castle. Perhaps he might give Fenrir the day off and take Sarah down to one of the secret grottos beneath the Labyrinth and try and convince her to kiss him again or maybe more.

A shiver ran across his skin and the air around him began to tingle. Jareth's fingers tightened round his goblet and he looked up and the familiar sensation.

Someone was making a wish.
