A/N: Well holy shit. Here we are. The final chapter of the riveting story that you have all undoubtedly been nipping at the bit to finish. God it was something like 4 years since the last update? I was like fourteen! Well I'm not going there, but for those who want to know who to thank then thank jbh14 for favoriting it COMPLETELY out of the blue like a week ago. Fucking shouts out, bro. Anyway, as I said I originally wrote this like four years ago before I had any idea what writing was, so maybe some stuff wont match up if you remember the previous chapters. Its actually pretty good for the amount of writing experience I had I think if you'll allow me to pat my fourteen-year-old self on the back for a moment. Also, don't bother reviewing I guess cause this is definitely the only story I'll do. Like I'm in college now sooooo…yea. Unless you want to review I guess. Lastly, I remember saying I'd like to make this as cannon-friendly as possible, but obviously that's not possible anymore if you still watch RWBY. Which I do. Its great, would recommend. I'm done. Just read this "hot" garbage.

"R…b..R..by!"

Ruby could hear someone yelling. Several people yelling actually. What was happening again? She couldn't remember.

"G..t…p!"came the yelling again, becoming more clear with every second.

"Ruby! Please get up!" Ruby clearly heard this time around. She was still in a daze, but felt someone pull her up. Judging by the voice that spoke to her next she finally realized it was Yang.

"Hey are you alright, little red?" This time it was Rob speaking to her as he ran up to defend Yang and herself.

Ruby, now fully conscious after that devastating hit from that man, responded with confidence and strength. "Y-yeah…I think I'm OK. This isn't over yet, so I can't be either!"

Yang, clearly worried about the tied of battle and unsure about what Ruby was implying tried to retort "Well now hold on for a min-" but was abruptly cut off by a large, imposing figure approaching them, albeit slowly, from the direction Ruby was thrown.

"Please shut up. I really hate kids and their whiny little voices. All they do is spout stupid nonsense. I mean you honestly believe you can win against my guys? Come on kid, get a grip." As the man finishes his boasting the man who actually assaulted Ruby and a slew of others came out from behind him on either sides.

"Come on guys! Over by us!" shouted Rob in response to the orange-haired man's threat. Ruby thought Orange was a good enough name for now.

Roman found this action rather humorous and decided to treat it like some joke. "Ohhhhh scarrry. Please don't hurt me~!" His entire entourage chuckled at his jesting.

Luckily for our Ruby and friends there was another member of their team that had yet to reveal himself. A secret weapon of sorts. He finally made his move now.

-A few minutes earlier-

Having been seriously injured by the beating that Torchwick and company put him through, Wolf couldn't just get up right away. Unfortunately, he had to recover himself and his aura for a few minutes. He could see that Ruby and her friends had the situation in better control than he had expected. Especially the bowman and the blonde. Those two certainly had potential.

"Gah! Shit!" Wolf cursed to the wind as he attempted to rise. "A little more…" Wolf was growing nervous however, as Ruby's troop was looking haggard. They obviously had professional training to some extent. Wolf guessed some local academy. None were mere children. No, the were all on track to be warriors of some caliber. Except Ruby unfortunately, who was trying to be roused from her stupor by her sister.

Of course Wolf admitted he did see….something in her movements while fighting that goon. She too could be trained.

'I swear the basterd who hit her will be my first target' pledged Wolf. 'He could have seriously hurt her!' Wolf fumed as he thought of how she could probably had a few broken ribs after that hit.

Wolf made one more attempt at standing, as he could see time was running out for the pseudo heroes. They may have training, but they are still inexperienced. They also actual strength. Once again, except for the blonde.

"Here goes nothing" Wolf said aloud as if it would somehow imbue him with strength. "Hrah!" Wolf was able to stand finally, but he still was weak. He'd need to be more than careful. A stiff wind could blow him over. That is until his first target entered his sight. A hammer held firmly in his grasp.

"Gahhhh!" screamed one of the men from near the back of the group. All were confused as the only known enemies for either group was directly in front. But then realization hit both Rob and Torchwick at the same time.

"He's up!" they shouted in unison. Rob finally cashing out on his decision to release the supposed friend to their cause.

Of course, Torchwick was less enthusiastic at the prospect of fighting this beast at all. Saying nothing of the fact that they were now fighting a war on two fronts.

"Shit! He's escaped!" " Catch him!" "Help!" An assortment of both verbal and tactical responses were made to the newly freed prisoner's arrival on the scene. The men were clearly trying their damndest to catch him, but to no avail. A young girl responded in stride.

"GO WOLFIE! Beat those bad guys to pulp!" Clearly excited and inspired by her new friend's escape, she began to cheer on the fake huntsman as he did, in fact, pound the bad guys to pulp.

Using this newfound confidence, she pushed her friends forward. "Come on guys, now's our chance! Let's hurry and strike while they're confused."

Not being interrupted this time around, Yang made he peace known, "But Ruby you're hurt! Hell, we all are! This is too much! There are too many, and they all mean business. Its time for us to escape while we can." Yang ended with a stern look toward the whole group of six, lasting ever so slightly longer on Rob. Yang knew this rabble, and she knew they'd all die for Rob. His word held weight here.

"Ruby, you know your sister may be right. We really are out matched here. We can't keep up for long. Rob, sad to say it, meant every word. He held not only his own life, but all those in his group who follow him. He would not lose them to a lost cause.

"Then go." Came Ruby's quick and decisive reply. There was no hint of doubt or fear there. Only resolve. "I'll finish this with Wolf by myself. With him…I know I'll be safe. He's a real huntsman who is trying his hardest to help those in need. I won't leave him to die. Even less now that I've already come so far. If any of you are scared or worried about this, then you can leave. No hard feelings. I know the chances of winning this fight, but I couldn't live with running away. My mother didn't do it….neither will I." With that Ruby ran straight forward toward Orange. A fire permanently sparked in her silver eyes.

'Damn that girl' thought Wolf as he continued to haggardly fight Torchwick's goons. Luckily they were as dumb as shit, so even in his serious state he could give them all at least a good fight. Even if it was four on one with others quickly joining.

As the blows began to overtake him again, Wolf started to think 'At least this should give them time to run. Whatever happens to me is beside the point. I already botched this mission good. All that's left is an honorable death I suppose. I hear those are highly regarded in Mistral.'

Of course, life is neve so easy is it?

"Wolfie! I'm coming for you!"

The voice unmistakable, gave Wolf a strength he thought he no longer had any capacity to wield. He immediately grabbed the latest incoming kick and swept the man's leg, sending him toward Remnant. Dodging out of the way of a large fist he quickly countered, punching him square in the temple, rendering him unconscious. Two down.

"Ruby! Stay away! Run away! Your jobs done and I have the situation under control!" Wolf yelled, praying that it was enough to send the girl back.

Of course, the reply was all to easily foreseen, "Oh? Then I guess I'll help you finish up then!"

'Who the hell raised this damn kid?!' Wolf asked to nobody in particular. But regardless, He couldn't help the smile quickly stretching across his face.

"Then stay put!" I'll come to you!" Wolf, all the while trying to put down as many goons as possible, was feeling his exhaustion again. He had been affectively dodging, but couldn't counter like he wanted since the last one. He made a split decision and teleported through the crowd, using any aura he had stored up. He had to focus on protecting Ruby.

As Wolf reappeared next to Ruby she gasped, clearly startled, "Whoa Wolfie! Warn me before you do that!" Ruby put on a cute pout to show he agitation, but "Wolfie" was having none of it.

"Shut up!" I used the last of my aura to get over here and protect you! Be grateful, kid!"

"Grateful! To who? You? Not after you almost scared me to death, idiot!"

Both broke out into giggles at their small exchange. All smiles. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.

"Ehem! Remember us?" We were…oh what do you call it? Francis! What were we doing?!" Torchwick asked the nearest goon.

This goon, apparently named Francis, confused by the questions and its obvious answer replied timidly, "Fighting, sir?

"That's right Francis. Good work. That's why I like you. WE WERE FIGHTING! NOT having a happy reunion. So let's go! Please?

Wolf, wasted no time replying, "To be fair Torchwick, you could have attacked anytime you wanted. I'm grateful you didn't though cause that would have been pretty shitty of you."

As his remaining men began to inch closer Torchwick replied, "Oh thanks for the gratitude, dog. I really appreciate it. Now go get 'em boys! None of them left alive ya here. No witnesses."

Wolf didn't like the sound of that.

Ruby, watching the approaching men, began to feel doubt again. She had no weapon, experience, or real skill to speak of. Her fighting that man earlier was a fluke and, loathe of her to admit it, left her feeling drained.

She searched for courage within herself to find it nowhere. She instinctively grabbed at something, anything to give her strength. In doing so, she felt something rough, but kind; firm, yet gentle; and big, but warm.

Ruby looked up to see Wolf grasping her hand within his. Looking down on her with kind eyes.

"I'm right here, Ruby."

These words filled her with a what she was looking for. It gave he hope and strength. However, there was something else there as well. Something she couldn't quite describe.

"You ready to finish this, kid?" asked the man next to her.

"Do you need to ask?" the young girl responded.

They leapt into battle together.

Ruby did the same thing she did before in the sense that she relied on her speed to et around her enemies and attack a little at a time. It was all going well, but having been already drained she was getting worse. She didn't have time to notice how Wolf was doing, as she was already focused on three of the the man's, now known as Torchwick, goons.

By the sound of it though, it couldn't have been going well. Ruby was far from dumb. She knew exactly how badly Wolf must have been hurting, and how he put on that smile only for her to believe he was fine. She had read too many stories about brave hero's in similarly dire straights using the same trick.

"Gagh!" Ruby fell like a rock. Not because of being injured, but because that was all she had. She was spent. All her energy was gone. The men surrounded her and she heard Wolf yell out her name.

She was grateful she met him. That she was able to see a real huntsman in action. To learn a little bit about them. To learn a little bit about her mother. Why she left. What she did.

Ruby could understand better now. That was enough.

"GAH! STOP STOP!" Ruby was surprised she felt no pain. She opened her eyes to see a golden band fly past her vision.

"Don't touch my baby sister you scumbag!" Only one person would say something like that here.

Ruby struggled to respond, "Y-Yang?"

Yang, slowly rose from her target, as Ruby noticed that the other two she was fighting were otherwise engaged with Rob's boys. "Yea its me, Ruby. Just stay down for now. We'll handle this. 'Kay?"

"OK..." Replied Ruby, as she slowly drifted into blissful sleep…

"So, kid. What's the idea? You finally decide to join in? I wouldn't recommend it. You still have the chance to grab Ruby and run." Wolf tried to convince Rob, but he clearly wouldn't budge.

"Sorry, old timer. It appears little red rubbed off on us somehow. This is our fight too now."

"That so…" wolf replied. Completely stunned at that girl's ability to turn people. 'Rather frightening.' he thought, 'Being able to convince five teenagers to fight for you in a life-or-death battle.'

Wolf "Then show me what you got, son. Do you think your group can handle the rest of the thugs?"

"I can't be sure, but if Ruby can find the strength, then so can we!" Rob's voice betrayed no doubt.

'Yup. She really is scary.'

"Then I'm going that way for a minute" Wolf directed to the trailer where he noticed Torchwick run off to. "I should be back soon-"Wolf was cut off, as he began to walk away.

"Be careful." Said Rob without turning. "I can't imagine having to tell Ruby how you died in some heroic battle. She'd be crushed"

"You know they look up to that sort of stuff in Mistril?" Wolf said with a chuckle

"Well this isn't Mistril is it?" replied Rob in a serious tone

"No. No it isn't."

A minute later Wolf was outside the trailer. He remembered it had two windows on either side, and snuck around to peek inside. Unfortunately, there seemed to be nobody inside.

He tried the door to find it unlocked. He cautiously entered.

"Hello? Torchwick? You ready to give up? Your goons are out. You're all that's left. Its over."

No answer.

Wolf began to move quickly but cautiously closer to the desk, ready to intercept any attack. Were it any attack that is.

Suddenly a blast broke through the back wall and nearly hit Wolf. Having barely any aura to speak of, it would have killed him instantly had it hit him anywhere vital. After that a slow bleed out would suffice he was sure.

"Well well. Not so smart I see. I was honestly doubtful that would work, but here you are! Hook. Line. And. Sinker. Hahahahahah!" Torchwick climbed through the hole he made as he laughed.

"Torchwick! Basterd." Wolf composed himself and prepared for a fight. He'd have only one chance. None more.

"Oh what? You ganna fight me? In that state with no weapon? Good luck, kiddo."

That was the last straw for Wolf, as he reached behind himself quickly, grabbing the hammer he took off that thug from earlier, and in one movement throwing it at Torchwick's orange head.

"Shit!" Torchwick's ego always did poke him full of holes. Wolf jumped forward and tackled the man to the ground. Wrestling his prized cane from his grasp and throwing it across the room. He had won.

"Help! Help me!" Torchwick squirmed and screamed, but Wolf had enough strength for this as he geared up to beat the shit out of Roman. That's when he remembered a certain red girl and her belief that he was a hero. He put his fist down, and tied up the squirming man.

With Torchwich secured to the table in the trailer, Wolf walked back outside to see the kids moping up the last of the goons. Which were attempting escape. The kids made chase.

"Stop! Let them run. This battle is yours." Wolf called out to them, which made them cease their chase.

"So its over? We did it?" Yang asked quickly.

Wolf replied with a smile "Indeed we did. Its over. Does anyone have a phone?

Within the next few minutes Yang was calling the police and Rob was addressing his men. Ever the noble leader.

All the while Wolf had picked up Ruby and brought her over to a bench to rest, her head on his lap.

"Hrmph" a small sound came from the small girl resting in his lap. He smiled at the various memories of when he would let his young sister, Cassie, sleep in his lap. These two were very much alike.

"Mom?" another, more unexpected sound came from the girl, "Where are you? Mom? Where did you go?"

Wolf wished to comfort the girl, but didn't know how. He did however make a slight attempt.

"I'm right here, Ruby. I'm always right here with you."

"Really? I can't see you. I want to see you."

Wol-no Jason, continued, "You can't see me right now, but I'm always with you. Always watching over you. Always keeping you safe."

"Really?" replied the still dreaming girl.

"Really." Confirmed Jason one more time.

"Alright then. Good night, mom."

"Good night, Ruby. Sleep well."

Before Jason knew it he had tears falling from his face. He had been through this before himself. Losing people. He knew exactly what she was going through. Even if it was only a small amount, he was glad he could at least bring some solace to this sweet girl. After all, she did save his life.

"How is she doing?" Yang had apparently sprouted next to them, but knew nothing of what just happened. At least she said nothing.

"She is fine. Unbelievably so in fact. I had been certain she would have broken at least one or two ribs." Said Wolf coming back to his normal, serious tone.

"Well she does drink lots of milk" chuckled Yang, visibly relieved. Yang looked up into Wolf's eyes and saw the tears still there, "Are you ok? Are you hurt?"

Wolf, at first confused, felt his face and noticed the water streaking down and quickly dried them, "No. I'm fine. I just yawned a moment ago that's all." A terrible lie. One the blonde was sure to see through. She nonetheless said nothing, however.

The blonde looked at him once more though and said, "Thank you. I don't know you or what you do, but thank you. My sister…she's been so sad since mom left. This helped her. I know it."

Wolf was stunned. To here this gratitude coming from the blonde. From actually helping someone for once rather than kill them. He truly was speechless. He looked back at the blonde and said, "Tell your sister…thank you. Please? Oh! Also thank you to you as well. And the boys."

Yang smiled, "Once again, thank Ruby for that. Honestly we were all scared, but Ruby…I guess there is no other way to say it, but she lit a fire under our asses!" Yang laughed as she ended her sentence.

Wolf heard the sound of sirens in the distance. Those cops finally getting of f their asses. They will find the evidence and Torchwick, and finish the job. Unfortunately, he still failed his mission. This will be all over the media, so whatever the reason Master wanted this kept quiet won't go through he was sure. However, he wasn't mad. Its not everyday you get to be someone's hero.

Wolf looked down once more toward the sleeping girl, carefully removed her head from his lap, and began to walk away. However, there was a slight tug. She reached out and grabbed his hand once more, though she was till sound asleep.

"Silly girl." Wolf turned around to remove her hand when he glanced at his old bracelet. He then looked at Ruby and thought 'You two really are so alike.'

He removed her hand and walked away. Relishing the fact that he was given the opportunity to have this chance encounter.

A/N: Wow that's way longer than I meant it to be! Hope your happy! Anyway that's it. Was it worth it? Probably not as I wrote this very late at night, but nonetheless it was pretty fun. Still though, don't expect anything new. Anyway thanks for reading and have a good life!
