Hi there, I was just in a perfect mood for writing, so I put this together. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint :) ALSO If anyone is getting lost with all the characters, which I'm sorry is probably gonna happen if it hasn't yet, PM me with your email address and I can send you a jpeg of the family tree I made up... which is also a little confusing but I'm sure you guys can work it out haha
Chapter 32
Brandon came into the room, taking a seat beside his mother, eager to listen to what we had to say. He had all the grace and beauty of his mother, mingled with the charm and handsomeness of his father and resulting in a gorgeous young man with charisma that drew the whole room to him in an instant.
"Anything you need of me, I'm happy to help family any way I can." He flashed us a grin that could blind and I smiled back as a reflex. Snow quickly brushed over what she needed to so that Jack became visible to Brandon and he remained as keen to join in our adventure once he could. I saw Alyssa moving in the corner of my eye as she made her way over to Brandon and pulled herself up to her feet using his leg. I smacked my hand against Jack's arm repeatedly and he had to grab my hands with his to steady them. Brandon looked down at his little cousin when he felt her tugging at his trousers and flashed her another grin, to which she giggled and smiled back in her adorable way.
"Well look at you little princess." Brandon crooned and touched the tip of his finger to her nose, and pulling it away quickly as it frosted over. Looking up at Jack and myself, he chuckled at the melting frost on his index finger. "I see she takes after her parents." He wiped his dripping finger on his collar and Alyssa giggled again.
"She can do a lot more than that." I sighed, watching Alyssa curiously toddle around the room. I had to keep reminding myself of late that she shouldn't be using so much magic like this.
You're wise on occasion
I jumped at the sound in my head, causing Jack to look down on me with concern. I smiled up at him, trying to assure him everything was fine. Nice to hear from you stranger.
I thought I should warn you of the events that have taken place
What events? Is Nadia okay?
It's not Nadia who was involved. The guardians were attacked; It seems Ayana believed that Jack and yourself would hide your daughter with them.
Are they all okay?
They'll be alright, but Ayana did a number on them. The time for Jack to meet them is coming, and you need to make sure he's ready for it. You also need to prepare your growing party for a potential attack. Ayana is going to sense all that power so densely packed together, if she doesn't detect the group's growing panic and anxieties first.
I understand.
Best of luck
I felt Manny leave my mind and I could return my focus to the world around me. The first thing I noticed was Jack's firm grip on my shoulder, he knows Manny spoke to me again. Next I saw a dirt horse fly by my face and it shook me for a moment.
"Alyssa honey no more horsies." I called to her, trying to keep my panic out of my voice, and my mind. The horse galloped over to a pot plant in the corner and returned to the soil. A small frown adorned her face as she made her way over to Jack, who scooped her up without hesitation.
"Who have you gathered for this fight so far? What are the ranges of abilities we have in our arsenal?" Snow asked Cinderella and myself.
"Starting with Jack and I, we both have influence over ice and snow, and Alyssa has influence over at least three of the four elements and her powers continue to grow. From there, we have Rapunzel's support, though she lost her magic healing I've heard she has made herself quite a proficient healer. We have Nadia, Merida and Hiccup's daughter, who has heightened senses; she can see and hear things from miles away." I recapped the first part of our journey of recruitment.
"After finding Nadia, they came to France to find myself, I can bend the will of most people I speak to. My son Damon can read peoples' emotions and often can find the precise words to change the way people feel. My daughter Abigail is able to animate inanimate objects for a short period, and my grandson Adam is a shapeshifter." Cindy introduced each member of her family, who, other than Damon who is with the dragons, quietly sat in the corner, unsure of their place yet.
"Nadia herself has gone to gather more relatives. We know she was headed to South America to gather Andrew and Johnathan, two of your closest cousins as I recall, and then to Far Far Away for Lillian and Arthur. She'll be joining us in England tomorrow after we stop in Denmark, for aunt Helga; cousin Ariel's mother-in-law, if she is running on the same schedule we are." I added, Brandon nodded and let out a deep breath.
"It seems we have a rather large family." He smiled. "I'm more than happy to accompany you on this mission. I'm not sure how useful speaking and bending the wills of animals might be, but I'll find a way to help." I let go the anxious breath I had been holding and grinned.
"On to Denmark it is then." The group broke into action quite quickly. Florian returned home from a diplomatic trip not ten minutes later, giving Brandon the chance to say goodbye to his father before we headed off.
As we returned to the dragons, the sky was beginning to turn a burnt orange. With any luck, we could make it to Denmark before it got too late. Those of us who already had a dragon assigned to them jumped onto their rides, I remained on the ground just long enough to help Brandon settle in on, running a hand over her light golden scales to soothe her into the new arrangement.
"Are we all ready?" I called to the group, and was answered by a chorus of confirmations from humans and dragons alike. We set off into the slowly darkening sky and headed for our next stop in Denmark.
