Managed to get a small chapter done.
Zero woke the next night, annoyed that his sleeping schedule had been so severely altered already that he was waking at sunset instead of sunrise like he should have been. But then he supposed it was bound to happen eventually seeing as the damned pureblood had decided that they were going to be married and have kids. Speaking of which, he was greatful he hadn't had another dre- nightmare! So he'd at least slept peacefully the night- er day- through. Sighing he sat back against his headboard and ran a hand through his hair. This was so... WRONG! He thought to himself. Honestly if he didn't know better he would have thought that Kuran had planned this whole thing out just to force him into marriage for some bizzar reason.
Throwing off the covers, Zero stood to change his clothes, ideling wondering when the two plotters were going to bring up the subject of him switching classes. He knew it was coming. Had to be with all the shit they were throwing at him. He paused in the act of buttoning his pants, hand resting breifly on his abdomin where he vividly remembered feeling his child kick. His child... It was so strange to think in those terms but he couldn't deny it. There had been a life inside him. At least in the dream there had been.
Again he felt that odd sense of loss. Mourning the little girl who had his smile and the son he hadn't even gotten to hold. It made no sense. It was just a dream, they weren't real. Hadn't actually ever existed or lived! So why did he feel so upset about that fact? Clutching his shirt in his hand Zero sat back down on the messy bed, actually trying to sort out what he felt about the dream. As much as he insisted mentally it was a nightmare- he knew the truth. Dreams, from what he recalled, generally gave the dreamer a reality that they wanted. A place they could be happy.
Now he knew why he'd had that dream.
He wanted what had been stolden from him all those years ago. He wanted a family. But was he ready to marry Kaname and give birth to his children to make that a reality? The dream suggested that not only could he do it but that they could be happy together as well. What would Yuki have to say about all of this? Just because Kaname didn't love her that way didn't mean that she didn't love him that way. Last he knew the girl had a fierce crush on the pureblood. Though, she didn't know that he was her older brother, so maybe that would have an affect on things. Besides it seemed like the pureblood intended to tell her that Zero was his mate. He just didn't know if it was going to be before or after he woke her memories.
Shit! Why did all this have to be so complicated? It pissed him off and made him want to cry at the same time. He could only guess that it was because of the continuing changes in his body. He'd need to ask how long it would take for the changes to be done. And pray that his horemones would balance back out when it was over because this was getting old fast. Tugging on his shirt with sharp movements Zero left his room in the Chairman's office, which had been getting a surprising amount of use recently. He suspected that the Chairman was having him stay so he could keep an eye out for any negative effects the pills may have on his body. He supposed he should be grateful that he was staying there instead of being made to stay with Kaname in the Moon Dorms. Even if it was going to happen eventually. He supposed being with Kuran wouldn't be too bad. Certainly better than falling to Level E. Didn't mean he had to be happy about the fact that he had little to no choice over what was going on.
"Morning Zero!" Kaien called cheerfully as the younger hunter came into the kitchen while he was making breakfast.
"It's night." Was the flat and immediate response that did nothing to kill his good mood. Honestly he was just trying to help his psuedo- adopted son adjust to his new schedual. Especially since he knew the other was going to be transfering. The paperwork was done, now it was just a matter of informing the silvette. And surviving.
"Well I have great news!" He declared, smiling as he severed up the food he'd made. Knowing that his precious children didn't typically like his food, he stuck to making a fairly simple omlette for himself and the teen this time. "Yori has been made a member of the DC so that Yuki will still have a partner."
"Still have a partner?" Zero asked, freezing in the act of poking at his food to determine if it was edible or not.
"Well..." Cross gave a hesitant laugh, scratching the back of his head nervously. "You won't be able to fully maintain the duties of a DC member as a member of the Night Class, so Yuki needed someone to help her." He waited anxiously, anticipating a violent reaction to the news since Zero was already upset at everything happening out side of his control.
A low growl sounded at him from arcoss the table, making the hair at the back of his neck stand on end. "I wondered when I woke up how long it would take you to transefer me. Didn't wait long did you?" The teen glared at the older man, finally deciding to eat the food given to him. At least if it was poison his death would be merciful. That had to count for something.
"Well to be honest, Kaname wanted it done sooner so he could make sure you were alright while the changes were happening but I told him to wait until after you were made aware of what was going on, so everything was ready and in place."
"I want my own room." He may not have any real say on any of these things but he was damn well going to have a say on this point. If they were forcing him to transfer then he was doing it on his terms and he wasn't ready to share his personal space with anyone- let alone Kuran.
"O course. Of course." Cross waved placeatingly, pleased that Zero was somewhat accepting of the situation even if he looked ready to kill. Kaname wasn't going to be happy about it but surely he could make the pureblood understand the silver teen's perspective. The two ate in silence for a few more moments before Zero decided to start asking some questions.
"How long before this change is done with my body?" He debated silently on telling the Chairman why he wanted to know but decided against it for now. No reason to give the man cause to freak out and insist on tests that weren't needed to make sure Zero was fine.
"Hm? Oh." Cross brought his thoughts away from his coming meeting with Kaname to focus on Zero. "Most of the changes have taken place already. Now it's just growing to fit in with your body. It should be complete within the month."
"So am I not needed to attend any classes for now?" He got up and started washing the dishes, needing something to do with his hands.
"Not at the moment, no. We've pulled you from the Day Class but we need to finish filing that papers for place you in the Night Class and arrange a schedual for you." He startled slightly by a sarcastic snort form the Guardian.
"You mean make room for me in all of Kuran's classes?" The hunter didn't doubt for a second that the stubborn pureblood would insist on having Zero in all of his classes. Possibly on having Zero sit with him. Normally Zero would put up a fight. Growling and hissing until he had run himself out of energy, but now... Now he simply grumped a little about it, accepting things as they came so that he could save up his strength for when he really needed to put up a fight. Besides, if he was going to marry Kuran he may as well start getting used to the pureblood.
I know it's not much but my muse has been uncooperative. However he finally seems to be willing to let me type.
