Chapter 13 new leads and votes
Authors notes I don't own Marvel Agents of SHIELD. All I own are my OC's Jack Williams, Shadow, the Katana Killer, Carl Berlin, Henry Radcliff and Cobra.

Well that's enough of an author's notes on with chapter 13.
The Bus
As the plane landed at the Fridge. Jack said to Clint in a low tone of voice "Quinn is hiding something. He knows more than he's letting on."
Clint asked "What are you going to do?"
Jack answered "Put him, Raina, Radcliff and Sanchez in a room together and offer a deal to the first one who talks, while others get a bullet to the head."
Clint asked "What if none of them talk?"
Jack answered "I'll get a blade and ask nicely. Starting with the man who killed my baby boy."
With that the two of them brought Quinn out of the plane and into the facility where they saw Maria Hill was waiting for them with Raina, Radcliff and David all in a room together.
Maria said "Let's get to work."
SHIELD medical facility Paris France
Graham and Phil sat in the waiting room drinking coffee, the surgery ended 5 minutes and they were now waiting to hear from the surgeons if the operation was successful.
Graham said "When she wakes up Phil. What are going to say to her?"
Phil replied "I'm going to tell her I love her, that I never stopped loving her and never will."
Graham nodded and said "Good. I heard from Fury about this monster who murdered my grandson. If your brother kills that man in cold blood and your there. Back him up and say that Jack had no choice but to kill that man in self-defence."
Phil just said truthfully. "I would help him kill that man, after all Josh was my godson. Plus if we didn't kill him another SHIELD agent would, or family of one of the victims would for revenge."
Neither of them said another word a doctor came in and said "The surgery was a complete success. We removed all the bullet fragments. A few days of observation and if everything checks out she'll be free to leave."
Phil and Graham smiled at the good news and as Graham went outside to call Melinda's mother already on her way to Paris to let her know her daughter was ok. Afterwards he called Clint so the team could be given the latest news on Melinda's condition, Phil asked "Can I see her?"
The doctor nodded and said "She is in a private room just down the hall to your left."
Phil headed to the room and saw Melinda was asleep in bed and sat next to the bed and held her hand waiting for her to wake up.
The fridge interrogation room
Once, Quinn, Raina, Radcliff and David were restrained in their seats Jack and Maria sat across from them as Maria said "SHIELD is prepared to offer a deal to the first one of you who tells us all that person knows about the Clairvoyant and Centipede. This offer expires in 24 hours. If so we will do whatever it takes to get the information we need out of you."
David scoffed and merely said "You wouldn't any deal made with me agent Hill, both you and your ex-husband want to skin me alive for what I done. I would never make it out of this building alive."
Maria said "David if I could. I would kill you right now in this room if I could. But Director Fury wants you alive. For now, you don't talk and your life is forfeit."
Raina asked "If I do talk, what guarantee do I get that you'll keep your word?"
Jack answered "You help us. We help you. Are you prepared to talk?"
Raina was silent for a few minutes before saying "No."
Jack then turned to Radcliff and Quinn and said "Well, either of you want to accept the offer?"
Radcliff said "If I talk and you let me go. I'm a dead man anyway, Shadow will kill me for betraying him once I get out of here."
Quinn asked "If I talk. I have some conditions. They are non-negotiable."
Jack nodded and said "What are they?"
Quinn replied "I go free and get a private plane to take me anywhere I want to go. Also you and your team never come near me again. In return I will tell you everything I know about Centipede. Do we have a deal?"
Jack said to the others "Any of you want to start talking. Don't and we get the information out anyway we can. Last chance."
None of the others said anything and Jack asked "Do you know what I was getting close to several years ago which caused the Clairvoyant to have my baby son murdered?"
Quinn in complete shock said "The Clairvoyant had your baby son murdered. What would cause him to order the death of a baby? That's horrible."
Jack said "That's what I want to find out. You were holding something back earlier Quinn. Tell what your hiding or my brother agent Phil Coulson will question you himself and he won't be as polite as me."
Quinn said "I told you the truth. I held nothing back."
Maria suddenly said "Deals off the table for you Quinn as of now. Let's get an interrogation kit brought in here. It's time to take the gloves off."
While the interrogations went on Clint was talking to Fitzsimmons about what missions the team had been on.
He then asked the two young scientists a question out of the blue, "When do you think Skye and Ward are going to wise up and say that they love each other?"
Fitz and Simmons looked at each other before Fitz asked "How did you know they have feeling for each other agent Barton? You've only been on this team for less than 24 hours?"
Clint answered "I'm very perceptive. So want to tell me who you both think will reveal their feelings first and when?"
Fitz answered "A month give or take. What about you Simmons?"
Simmons replied "They'll figure it out eventually. Up to them when that happens."
Clint said "They remind me of myself and Natasha before we wised up and told each other how we felt. Being with her was the happiest days of my life. I haven't even called her since I was forced out of SHIELD."
Fitz said "Why don't you call her. Very least you can remain friends with her if she has moved on."
Clint didn't say a word and thought it over.
Rio de Janeiro
A man with grey hair and wearing a suit sat at a table with a briefcase full of cash in his hands, as another man bald with blue eyes and tattoos on his arms was looking at a dead body of a young girl lying on a slab in the middle of the room.
The man at the table asked with tears in his eyes "I heard you are capable of doing what I ask. I was told how much you charge for the service. I brought double that amount. Can you do it for me?"
The other man asked "I can, tell me though who told you about what I do? I demand my powers be kept under wraps for a reason?"
The elderly man answered "A fellow business man like myself. He told me about you once I said I would do anything to have my daughter back in my life. His name was Sebastian Grey."
The man said "I remember him. He lost his wife to cancer. The payment is more than enough for this. Be warned tell anyone about me and my abilities and I will kill you and your entire family."
The elderly man nodded as the other man rolled up his sleeves and started to chant in a language unlike anything the businessman ever heard before. After a few minutes the man stopped chanting and the businessman's daughter was alive and well.
The father hugged his daughter and said "Thank you."
The other man took the briefcase left on the table and said "My butler will show you out when you're both ready to leave. No need to thank me. I was happy to help."
With that the man went up the stairs of his house and headed to the study to add this payment to the amount in the safe.
As soon as he was done his butler came in and said "Sir. It seems that The Shadow knows about you. He sent some men here. They are waiting in thr hallway. What do you want me to do?"
The man immediately answered "Kill them and send them back to their boss in buckets."
The butler smiled and said "Very good sir."
The butler then got his silenced pistol and went to carry out his orders.
His boss picked up the phone and called Nick Fury. He needed to know if Fury had kept the promise he made to him all those months ago when he did a favour for him.
The fridge interrogation room
Jack picked up a syringe and said to Quinn "This is Tetrodotoxin. It's isolated from the liver of a Caribbean Puffer Fish. So, it paralyzes you and leaves all the other neurological functions perfectly intact. In other words, you can't move. But you feel everything. It does absolutely nothing to block the pain, and you're about to experience more of that, than you could ever imagine."
Jack stuck the syringe into Quinn's left arm as Maria took out a knife and said "Talk or I start cutting. Tell us everything you know Quinn."
Quinn laughed and said "You're both letting what happened to your son cloud your judgement. I know nothing."
Maria stabbed Quinn in his left hand as Jack said "The pain you are about to experience is only going to stop when you talk. Last chance tell us what you know. What do you know Quinn?"
Quinn replied "If I talk they will hurt me in worse ways then you are. These people are scarier than you."
Jack took out a pair of pliers as Maria opened Quinn's mouth and put the pliers onto a tooth. Jack said "Start talking otherwise as Maria is removing your fingers and toes. One by one I remove a tooth for each little piggy you lose. Talk."
Quinn said "I'll tell you everything."
Jack said "Tell us everything or you start losing fingers and teeth."
Quinn said "Centipede and the Clairvoyant. Have people behind them, very powerful people. You were getting close to them so they had your son killed. It got you off their trail and had the Katana Killer do his killing spree to get you out of SHIELD. These people wanted you out of their hair. They knew if they killed you though. Your ex-wife would come after us to avenge you and she'd have to be taken care of as well. Doing that would get Fury after them and they didn't want that kind of heat on them."
Maria asked "Who are they?"
Quinn answered "I have no idea. I never meet them. I know they have been planning something for years and SHIELD is a threat to those plans. They have people working for them. Project Centipede is only a part of their master plan."
Jack said "If you're lying Quinn. You're dead understand me."
Quinn didn't say a word as Jack and Maria looked at the other 3 prisoners in the room.
Maria asked "Any of you want to confirm what he said?"
When she got no answer Maria said "Looks like we'll have to make you talk."
Radcliff scoffed and Jack said "Maybe we can't make you talk Radcliff. I wonder if Ziro Corleone can get you to talk."
Radcliff looked at Jack fearfully as Maria said "We can arrange that. You killed his wife. I'm sure Ziro would love to help us out if it means he gets his hands on you. Not to mention handing you over to Shadow when he is done will help Ziro earn his favour. Jack call Ziro Corleone and tell him we have a gift for him."
Jack nodded and just as he was about to leave the room Radcliff yelled "I can confirm what Quinn said. I can give you a name. One of these people who is involved. They tried to take out Tony Stark a few years ago and this man failed miserably."
Maria asked "Justin Hammer is connected to these people."
Radcliff nodded as Maria and Jack now had a lead in their hunt for vengeance. Justin Hammer and it was time to visit him and get more answers.
Washington DC hotel room
Alexander Pierce looked around as all the top members of Hydra were now in the room and said All right, everyone. First, my thanks for making time on such short notice. We have serious business to discuss."
Senator Stern said "Your message said you were approached by The Shadow? You would think he'd be less interested in talking after your last conversation."
Another member teleconferencing by Skype on a laptop set up in the room said "I agree."
A woman said "So if he's making contact, it's only because he thinks it's absolutely necessary. What does he want?
Pierce replied "Our assistance. His business is under attack. Some people. People with skill and resources are conducting a highly advanced, globally coordinated assault on his interests. They don't seem satisfied to just kill him. These enemies of his seems to want him to lose everything."
Baron Wolfgang von Strucker said with a smile on his face "I like the sound of that."
Pierce said "Don't be so sure. If Shadow has nothing left to lose, then there's no reason for him to hold what he has against us at bay."
The woman asked "And if he dies? This enemy what do we know about them? And more importantly, what does they know about us?"
Pierce answered "We know very little about him, but that's not surprising, because The Shadow himself doesn't know. As for what this enemy knows about us, so far, we believe nothing. But if we want to keep it that way, we may have to get involved."
Stern said "For this enemy to elude Shadow, despite Shadow's skill, I believe it may be an error to make such dangerous people our enemy. Why not make them an ally instead?"
Baron Von Strucker shook his head and said "And if the Shadow or these enemies expose us? If that possibility becomes real, we will have to respond as we have in the past to protect ourselves and our plans."
Pierce interrupted and said "With all due respect, since you don't speak for all of us, we should put it to a vote and then see where we stand."
Everyone nodded in agreement and soon the vote was done and the course Hydra was to take set.
Now Alexander Pierce had inform The Shadow of Hydra's intentions towards these enemies of his.
Private plane over Western Europe
The man in the Armani suit smoked a cigarette as he watched the latest news on TV saying that the British Prime Minister's popularity with the public was at an all-time low due to the recent events in London involving Thor and the Dark Elf ship that caused a considerable amount of damage to London.
He smiled and called the British defence minister once he answered, the man said "We are moving up our timetable. Our forces will in position by morning. All you have to do is say the word and America will be at war with Britain by the end of the week and you will be in charge of a Britain under martial law. I will be landing in London in a little while. I'll be overseeing the attack personally."
The defence minister simply said "Acknowledged."
The man hung up and took a drag of his cigarette as he watched the rest of the news update.
SHIELD medical facility Paris France
A half hour after Phil sat at Melinda's bedside he still remained there and turned on the TV to watch the new season of 24 while he waited for Melinda to wake up.
Just as the episode ended Phil heard Melinda's voice say his name and turned around to see her wide awake.
Phil smiled and said "Welcome back Melinda."
She smiled back at Phil and asked "Where's Quinn. I want to repay him for what his henchman did to me."
Phil answered "Jack and Maria are questioning him. Once you're discharged we can go see him together."
Neither of them said a word after that for a few moments. Both of them just happy to be in one another's company.
Then Phil said what he had wanted to say to her for a long time "I love you Melinda. Always have, always will."
Melinda said "So have I Phil."
With that the two of them kissed as Graham looked on from outside the room with a smile on his face.
