SHIELD HQ
Director Maria Hill stepped inside her new office and looked around for a few moments before she sat down behind her new desk and started to look over the reports left on the desk by Fury.
Just as Maria started to read over the first report, the elevator opened and Phil emerged followed by Melinda and Jack.
Maria asked "What is it?"
Phil replied "The Clairvoyant called me less than 5 minutes ago. He said his life is in danger and needs our help. He also claims one of my team is a traitor and knows who it is. What do we do Director?"
Maria said "This could be a trap. He could want to capture you and torture you some more. Besides what is The Clairvoyant supposed to be in danger from?"
Melinda said "Maybe it's The Illuminati, they could see him as a threat and want him dead."
Jack nodded in agreement and asked "Did he say where to meet him Phil?"
Phil answered "He said to meet him in Bangkok."
Maria then asked the question that needed to be asked "Phil of all the team which of them do you see having the most potential of being a traitor?"
Phil said "We all know Melinda can't be the traitor. I trust Skye, FitzSimmons and Ward. The Clairvoyant could just be lying to get into my head."
Jack said "So are we going to go save the man from his comeuppance?"
Phil nodded and said "Let's go besides you told me you plan to put your dagger through the man's head. You like to keep your promises."
Melinda asked "Should I get the rest of the team ready?"
Phil said "No. If this is a trap I don't want any of them in danger. Only tell Ward to come with us. Have Skye and Fitzsimmons stay here. We'll be back soon. If they ask, tell them we're on a level 8 op."
Maria said "Alright. Good luck."
Melinda, Jack and Phil left the office as Maria went on the com and said to the head of security agent Andrew Lowe "Have David Sanchez brought here from The Fridge immediately. I have questions that need answering."
Andrew said "Yes Director Hill."
Washington DC hotel room
Victor Daniels entered his hotel room smiling as he did, the mission was a success and World War 3 was stopped before it began. Once he got home he was sure he'd get much needed time off.
He was surprised however when he saw a man was already in the room.
Victor took out his pistol and kept it aimed on the man who was sitting down at a table reading a classified SAS file, Victor's own file.
The intruder said "Colonel Victor Daniels, joined the British army at age 18, graduated basic training at the top of your class, got promoted to sergeant shortly after being deployed to Iraq on what was your first of 3 tours of duty. You joined the SAS shortly after your third tour ended and became one of the best SAS operatives in years. You have a very impressive record colonel. You should be proud of that."
Victor asked "Who the hell are you and how did get your hands on that file. Only Barry Kzur, the head of the SAS has access to that file?"
The man replied "My name is George Murray, the Director of STRIKE."
Victor was confused at the name and said "I never heard of it."
Murray said "We keep a very low profile. It works out better that way for all concerned. Your actions at the White House has gotten you noticed by the right people. I'm here to offer you a new job."
Victor said "I'm listening."
The Bus
Jack and Ward were both in the armoury loading their assault rifles as Ward said "It's hard to believe that The Clairvoyant is asking us for help. He must really be desperate."
Jack nodded as he said "I wonder why he didn't see this coming? You think a telepath would be able to spot this kind of thing a mile away."
Ward did not say anything as he loaded in the last bullet and Jack suddenly said "You should tell Skye how you feel about her."
Ward feigned ignorance and asked "What are you talking about?"
Jack said "Don't try to deny it Ward. You have feelings for Skye. I could tell the day after we first met from the way you interacted with her. If I can tell, the others can too. So do yourself a favour tell her. If you don't you'll regret it the rest of your life."
Ward was silent for a few moments before he said, "I'll think about it."
Jack smiled as Melinda said over the intercom "We're near the coordinates that Clairvoyant left us. Strap yourselves in I'm starting the descent in a few minutes."
Jack said "Time to make the Clairvoyant suffer for what he's done."
Unknown location
Bucky Barnes woke up and saw he was in a medical facility of some sort and that armed men were guarding the room. A voice said, "I see your finally awake Sergeant Barnes."
A man stepped out of the shadows wearing a black mask over his head with red eyes. The man said, "My name is The Shadow. My men are the ones who rescued you from HYDRA. Tell me what the last thing you remember is?"
Bucky was silent as he remembered what happened when he was knocked off the train when he was on that mission to capture Zola and what happened after he was found by Soviet troops who were members of HYDRA.
Bucky angrily said "HYDRA. They tortured me. What year is it Shadow?"
The Shadow said "It's 2014 Sergeant Barnes. I can imagine you want revenge against HYDRA?"
Bucky nodded as Shadow said with a smile on his face "I was hoping you'd say that Sergeant."
Bucky then asked "It's been 69 years since what happened. Tell me what happened to Steve?"
Shadow answered "Captain America died fighting Red Skull in late 1945. His sacrifice ensured victory for the Allies."
Bucky seethed in anger as he heard this news while Shadow now knew that he had what he needed to take down HYDRA, then The Illuminati and anyone else who got in his way.
Washington DC hotel room
Director George Murray left the hotel room with a smile on his face as he took out his mobile phone and sent Nick Fury a text message telling him the time and place where the meeting would take place.
He soon got a reply from Fury saying he'd there in 10 minutes, with that Director Murray headed to the location of the meeting with his operatives following including the latest addition to STRIKE, Colonel Victor Daniels.
A few minutes later Director Murray was sitting down in the board room of one of STRIKE's shell companies which helped give the organization it's funding.
Nick Fury then entered the room and Director Murray said "Nick Fury. It's nice to finally meet you face to face. Please sit down."
Fury did so and said "Nice place. I assume STRIKE has shell companies which provide your funding?"
Director Murray nodded and said "We are also funded by a group of influential British businessmen who are patriots at heart. The two men behind me are Victor Daniels and Lance Hunter, one of STRIKE's best operatives. They will be under your command until the Illuminati are dealt with."
Fury was shocked at this and Murray said "I know you have been replaced as Director of SHIELD by Maria Hill. My intelligence groups have learned of an Illuminati base in Russia. I'll have a plane take you and your new team there immediately. I'll contact Director Hill and talk about joint operations between SHIELD and STRIKE."
With that Fury and his new team left while Murray contacted Director Hill.
Bangkok Thailand
The bus landed near the mansion, The Clairvoyant owned and Jack, Phil, Melinda and Ward headed to the mansion.
While the team headed to the building, The Clairvoyant ran down the hallway as several of his men opened fire on the intruder already inside the mansion. Just as quickly as the gunfire started, it stopped.
The Clairvoyant looked behind him and saw the intruder was 30 feet away from him and closing in fast.
The Clairvoyant asked "Who are you?"
The man replied "My name is Magnus Rasputin and The Illuminati want you dead."
The Clairvoyant was then lifted into the air as Magnus Rasputin extended his hand and was soon screaming in pain as Magnus smiled.
As soon as the team heard the screams they picked up the pace and went inside the mansion. When they stepped inside they found dead bodies and blood everywhere.
Jack asked "What the hell happened here. Freddy Krueger go on a rampage?"
No one said a word as blood curdling screams were heard.
Phil led the team as they went in the direction of the screams and coming across more dead bodies along the way.
They then found what they were looking for, an elderly man no doubt The Clairvoyant was levitating in the air dead as another younger man stood near the dead body and with one flick of his hand sent the dead body crashing to the ground.
The man turned to face the team and said with a smile on his face "Agent Phil Coulson. It's nice to see you again. You might not remember me. My name is Magnus Rasputin, the man who brought you back from the dead."
Coulson said "You're the necromancer. Why did you kill The Clairvoyant?"
Magnus replied "Agent Coulson, I killed him as part of an audition to join The Illuminati. It seems they've found something that someone else isn't happy about. This person asked me to get what they now possess by any means necessary."
Jack asked "What are you talking about?"
Magnus said "You SHIELD members really are stupid aren't you? There is another object like The Tesseract on Earth and it's in the hands of The Illuminati."
Magnus then extended his hand and levitated Phil, Melinda, Ward and Jack into the air before he sent them all against the wall knocking them out cold while Magnus left the building, whistling as he did.
SHIELD HQ
Director Maria Hill stood on the roof of the building and smiled as she saw David Sanchez being brought out of the elevator by other agents in handcuffs.
David looked around and asked "Why did you bring me here. Are you going to throw me off the roof?"
Director Hill replied, "Well I don't want to David but I will if you don't tell me all you know about The Illuminati."
David was in shock as Maria Hill now knew who employed him to kill her baby son all those years ago and said "You're bluffing Hill. You won't throw me off the roof."
Director Hill said "If you don't talk. I will order these men to throw you off the roof to your death. So start talking!"
David said "All I know is that these people wanted you and Jack to stop looking into their affairs so I killed your new born son to do it. Whatever they've been planning is years in the making, maybe even decades."
Maria asked "You don't know anything else David?"
David shook his head and Maria turned to face the two SHIELD agents on the roof with them and said "Leave us."
The agents nodded and went into the elevator and David started to get nervous and before he could say a word Maria pushed David off the roof and watched the murderer of her baby son Josh fell to his death with a small smile on his face.
London
Magnus Rasputin entered the office as the leader of the Illuminati was looking out the window and said to Magnus "I trust The Clairvoyant is dead?"
Magnus said "He is as you asked. So have I passed my audition?"
The man turned to face Magnus and said "You have. Now Magnus you said you are representing another. Who is this person exactly? I like to know all I can about people who could be threats?"
Magnus smiled and said "I can do better than that. I can take you to see him right now."
Magnus extended his hand and once the Illuminati's leader did both men were suddenly out of the office and to the shock of the man in the middle of an asteroid field.
He saw another man was sitting on a levitating throne ahead of him as Magnus said "I'd like you to meet Thano's. The Mad Titan."
Thanos turned to face the man and said angrily "Give me one reason why I shouldn't kill you right here and now for having possession of one of my Infinity Stones thinking it's yours?"
The man said "I can always use the stone and erase you from history altogether. What can you or your lackey possibly offer me to stop me from doing just that?"
Thanos laughed before he said "You don't have the Stone on you. If you did, you would have used it by now."
The man asked "Why am I here exactly?"
Thanos answered "Your organization is useful to me and my needs. If you want to see your planet spared. You will help me acquire any other Infinity Stones you can. In return I will spare your world. Do we have a deal?"
The man replied "We have a deal Thanos."
Magnus then brought the man back to his office on Earth.
Magnus said "I'll return once I have instructions from Thanos for you and The Illuminati."
With that Magnus left the office as the man said to himself "I've never been so scared in my entire life."
SHIELD HQ
Phil and the rest of the team entered Maria's office and Phil said "The Clairvoyant is dead. Murdered by the necromancer who brought me back from the dead. He told us there is another object like the Tesseract on Earth and it's in the hands of the Illuminati."
Jack said "We need to find that as soon as possible before they use it and do a lot of damage."
The Avengers arrived just as Jack said this and Tony said "Are you both planning to use this Tesseract like object to make weapons of mass destruction like Fury did with the Tesseract?"
Jack answered honestly "Yes. Fury made the decision to give the Tesseract back to Asgard. A decision I would have opposed if I had been part of SHIELD after New York."
Phil said "We can debate ethics later. The necromancer told us that there is someone out there who wants this object and told the Necromancer to get it by any means necessary."
Tony asked "Who was the necromancer talking about?"
Phil said "I have no idea. But I have a feeling we'll find out who this individual is."
Knowhere
Taneleer Tivan known as The Collector looked around what remained of his collection in this place. He knew a lot of the collection that was here couldn't be replaced but the other sites were safe.
He then heard footsteps and his new assistant, Haror arrive with the Guardians of the Galaxy as they were now being called after their actions on Xander in stopping Ronan the Accuser.
Tivan walked over to them and said "I'm glad you all got here so quickly."
Gamora asked "Why did you ask us here Tivan?"
The collector answered "There is another Infinity Stone on Earth. I learned of it from an old friend of mine. I want you all to go there and retrieve it for me. Do so I'll give you 8 billion units."
Rocket smiled and said "You have a deal fancy man."
