Despite what anyone may think, Edward truly was a good student. While Roy was in the kitchen making himself dinner, Edward was in the living room, working on all the homework he was behind on. He decided it was probably best to do the homework for Mr. Hughes first, since Roy mentioned that if he didn't get it done he would have detention, which wasn't exactly something Edward wanted. Of course Edward wasn't completely up-to-date with all of the homework that has been assigned in his classes, due to his absences, but he figured that if he did all of the homework that he did have, then went in to school early to talk to all of his teachers and get the homework he missed, then he wouldn't get detention. After all, the teachers of Amestris High seemed to be very understanding.

"Almost done already?" Edward looked up from his work to see Roy with a plate in one hand, and A1 steak sauce in the other. Roy sat down on the couch next to Edward and set his plate in his lap. The only thing on the plate was a steak. Edward almost wanted to laugh. That was definitely a single man's meal.

"Yeah, I'm about done. I didn't really have that much to do, though I'm sure tomorrow I will have a bunch of crap to catch up on," Edward sighed heavily, and stretched his arms above his head. As he did so, his automail made a slight clanking noise. Roy looked over at Edward, and for a moment they locked eyes. Edward was worried that Roy was going to question the metal noise coming from him, but he didn't. Roy just turned his attention back to his steak. Edward let out a small exhale of relief. He knew that if he was going to stay with Roy for a while, that eventually he would have to tell him about his automail, but he just didn't think that now was the time.

Little did he know, Roy had taken a notice to the clanking noise from Edward, he just thought that it would be better to ignore it, no matter how much he wanted to question it. He already had his suspicions about Edward. For one, the kid constantly wore a coat, long pants and gloves. Gloves of all things! Not just that, but when Roy held him earlier, he was much heavier than Roy would expect of a boy his size. And now Roy was sure he heard a distinct metallic sound coming from Edward when he stretched...What was Ed hiding? As badly as Roy wanted to know, he didn't ask. He figured that Edward would tell him when he was ready.

Edward finished the homework he had in no time. It was easy with the silence. Usually Alphonse was there, chatting away, and though Edward never minded, he would admit that it was slightly distracting. Apparently, Roy wasn't the type of person that liked to talk while he ate. Or, perhaps he was just deep in thought. Whatever the reason, Edward was thankful for the temporary silence. "Done!" he said, happily, setting down his pencil and gathering up all the papers he had and putting them back into his binder. Edward looked over to Roy, and noticed that he was about done with his food. "I can wash your plate if you want, it's the least I can do."

Roy looked at Edward with an eyebrow raised. "You don't have to do that, Edward" he said, wanting to laugh a bit. He didn't, since Edward seemed to be completely serious. "You don't have to do anything while you're here besides clean up after yourself. Cleaning up after me is just silly. I'm a grown man, after all."

Edward looked down at his lap, blushing slightly. "Sorry. I'm just so used to cleaning up after Al. It feels weird not to do anything...besides, I feel like I'm such a burden. I want to be somewhat useful."

Roy reached out and lifted Edward's chin to make him look back up at him. "You are not a burden, Edward," he said sternly. Ed's eyes widened slightly, not expecting that sort of reaction from Roy. That, and he wasn't expecting his principal to touch his face like that either. Roy's hands were softer than one would expect. "I don't want you to live here, thinking you are just some nuisance to me, because you aren't. Remember that I am the one that insisted on you staying with me. You didn't invade my home, and I assure you that you are wanted here, so relax, okay?"Roy smiled at Edward, and got up from the couch to put his plate into the sink.

Edward realized that he had been holding his breath, so he let it out and took a quick breath in before breathing properly again. His heart had an irregular beat, and he was pretty sure he was blushing. How could Roy make him react this way with just a simple touch? "I assure you that you are wanted here." Edward replayed that through his head a few times, and smiled. It was such a small thing, but it made Edward feel great. He was actually wanted here. He wasn't a burden. Edward couldn't remember the last time he didn't feel like a nuisance to the people around him...but it was nice.

"So, you up for watching a movie?" Roy said as he came back into the living room.

Edward snapped out of his thoughts and nodded, "Yeah, sure. It's been a while since I've seen a movie. What did you have in mind?"

Roy went over to his entertainment center, opened a drawer and pulled out a stack of movies. "Well, I don't have many, and they are all pretty much shitty B-Movies, so you've probably never heard of any of them," he said, chuckling slightly as he walked back over to Edward and sat on the couch to show him what movies he had. "Let's see, I've got Samurai Cop, Cemetery Man, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Dead Alive, and of course Evil Dead and Army of Darkness."

"Well, besides Evil Dead and Army of Darkness, you're right, I haven't heard of any of those," Edward said, amused by Roy's taste in movies. "You can pick. I like seeing movies I've never seen before or know nothing about. Even if they are old."

Roy thought of which one Edward might like best. In the end, he ended up just picking the one that he hasn't watched in a while, Dead Alive. Basically the movie was just completely ridiculous, with people becoming Zombies after being infected by a Rat-Monkey thing. The movie had rotting flesh, buckets of blood, ridiculous acting, a cheesy romance and some disgusting scenes that were so horrible they were good. Just like any good B-Movie should have. Roy took the DVD out of its case and went over to the entertainment center once again to put the disc into the player. He sat back down on the couch, grabbed the remote, and turned the TV on.

"What is this movie about?" Edward asked as Roy pressed the 'play' button on the remote.

"Zombies," Roy replied.

"It's not going to be gross, is it?"

"Just watch." Roy knew very well that this movie was, to some people's standards, utterly disgusting, but he didn't want to spoil anything. Roy actually liked movies like this, and thought all the gore and gross stuff was incredibly funny. He couldn't wait to see how Edward would react to it.

"Alright. But I'm warning you, I talk a lot through movies, so don't get mad at me."

Roy smiled. "I think I can deal with that." Because he lived alone, Roy was used to a lonely silence, besides Hayate's occasional bark or growl. He actually liked the idea of Edward talking through the movie. Hearing Edward talk reminded him that he wasn't alone anymore, and that was oddly more comforting than he thought it would be.

The movie began, and Edward already had what seemed like a thousand questions. "Who are those guys? Where are they? What are they doing? Are they Scientists?" Roy just chuckled and told him to watch the movie, and he would find out. "So, this Rat-monkey thing has some weird curse or something? Is this what makes people into Zombies? Heeeyyyy! Answer my questions!" Edward certainly wasn't lying when he said he talked through movies. Then, suddenly, "OH MY GOD THEY JUST CUT THAT GUY'S ARM OFF! THEY CUT OFF HIS OTHER ARM! Oh god are they...THEY JUST KILLED HIM!" It was really hard for Roy not to laugh at Edward. It was like he'd never seen such a thing happen in a movie before. He actually let out a chuckle, and Edward looked at him, horrified. "There's nothing funny about losing limbs!" He pouted.

"I wasn't laughing about that. You're just being adorably over-dramatic and this isn't even the worst parts yet," Roy said simply.

"It get's WORSE?!" Edward exclaimed. He wasn't sure if he was really going to like this movie, but he continued to watch it anyway. "Wait, they're taking that thing to a ZOO?! Are they crazy?!"

Roy just chuckled. "Don't worry. There will be a small moment of romantic relief, but then it will get horrible again, I'm not going to lie." The look on Edward's face was priceless.

For a while he was quiet while watching the movie, but then he just couldn't believe that Lionel's mother got bitten by the Rat-Monkey, but he was happy it happened. "Stupid bitch had it coming," Roy heard Ed mumble to himself. Then, that's when gross stuff started to happen. The main character's mother was starting to rot, and he had to glue her skin back on her face and the craziness really began. Roy took notice that Edward was slowly scooting closer to him as the movie went on. At the point where the mother's ear fell off into her pudding, and she ate it without a moments hesitation, Edward let out a squeak and actually his his face into Roy's chest. "That was disgusting! You actually like this movie?!" Edward said, horrified.

"It's not even that bad," Roy said, amused, but Edward kept his face in Roy's chest. Slowly, and hesitantly, Roy moved his position a bit so that his arm was around Edward. It was something that he would do while watching a movie with a date, but, if Edward was going to insist on hiding his face this way, he might as well be comfortable, right? Eventually, Edward looked back at the screen, but he stayed relatively close, and he didn't seem to mind Roy's arm around him. There were a few other instances in the movie where Edward felt he needed to, "shield himself from the grossness," as he put it, and several times he asked if the movie was almost over or not. The only scene Edward seemed to enjoy was when Lionel decided to kill all the zombies with a lawnmower, exclaiming, "I've never seen so much fake blood in my life!"

When the movie did end, Edward let out a sigh of relief. "I can't believe they even made a movie like that. They don't make movies like that anymore. Gore movies these days aren't even all that gory!"

"So you liked it? Or you hated it? I honestly can't tell," Roy said, laughing a bit.

"I don't even know, Dude." Roy found that to be funny. No one has called him "Dude" in god knows how many years. Both men were quiet, and it was at this point when Edward finally realized the position they were in. He was far too distracted by the movie to notice before, but Edward was pretty much cuddled up to Roy on the couch, and Roy's arm was around him. How had they even gotten in this position? Didn't they start out sitting a normal distance away from each other? When Edward was completely engrossed into a movie, he had the tendency to not notice what he is actually doing. Roy didn't seem to mind though, and Edward was certainly comfortable. After his experiences at Madame Lust's, Edward didn't think he could ever feel this comfortable in the arms of a man, and he felt like he would be perfectly content being in this position forever...

Unfortunately, Edward may have been too comfortable, and though he didn't want to, he let out a big, loud, yawn. Roy chuckled. "Tired?" He said, looking at his watch. "I suppose it is a school night. We should both get some sleep." Roy didn't want to move, either, but he knew that if he didn't get to bed soon, he would be miserable the next morning. He had already lost enough sleep, after all.

"Yeah, you're right," Edward said, forcing himself to get up off of the couch. "I guess I'll, uh...see you in the morning?"

Roy smiled. "Yes. I'll wake you up if you don't wake up on your own. I don't think you'll have to worry about being late for school as long as you live with me."

Edward laughed. "Yeah, I guess not...well...Goodnight."

"Goodnight, Edward."

~Oh My Goodness I am SO sorry it took me so long to update! Things have been pretty hectic for me irl, but I managed to get this chapter out! I hope it wasn't too odd...I've been watching a lot of B-movies lately. Anyway, Ed gets to see Al in the next chapter! Let's hope I can write it quickly!
