A/N Wow, looks like I dropped of the earth there for a while. I'm terribly sorry about that. I am now home in Sweden and will try to focus more on my writing now that I'm unemployed(SUCKS!)

I'm sad to say that this is the last chapter of this story. I do have an idea for a sequel and will write that summary in the author note at the end.

Also, I've published a couple of stories on Wattpad, but have no readers! Please check them out! My username is Elizzastone :)

Now, please enjoy!

Chapter 14

Reid held onto Emily tightly, pressing her firmly against him, waiting for the blast to blow them both to pieces. No one in the room dared to breathe as if holding your breath would linger the pain. Would there be pain? Or would the explosion kill them instantly? Both of them had died once, but they had experienced different things so they didn't know what to expect.

When they saw the zero there was no sadness. Of course they would leave a lot behind on the earth, but there wasn't really anything they could do. It felt as if the time stood still and the atmosphere was so eerily quiet that the only thing they could hear was their hearts beating and their heavy breathing. They were just waiting for the explosion that was bound to come. They were waiting. Waiting. Waiting. A couple seconds passed and they were still waiting. That's when Reid decided to finally open the eyes he'd kept closed. He gazed at the bomb that should've gone off by now. It still read 00.00.00, but nothing was happening. It didn't blow them up. It didn't kill them.

"Em?" Reid breathed out and parted a little from her.

She also opened her eyes. "What happened?"

"It didn't go off," Reid said with a chuckle. "We're alive."

Emily pulled away completely to look at Reid and then to Luke who had a shocked expression on his face.

"You failed," she said with a smirk.

Luke's face fell and he soon started to turn red. "I didn't fail! I hurt all your friends. I locked you into this house. I made you make a baby. I made you get raped and humiliated." he thrashed around in the chair, the barbed wire cutting deeper into his wrists.

"You're wrong. We're getting out of here now which means you failed keeping us here or kill us. Your bomb didn't work," Emily said, and walked out of the room in search of an exit.

"I'd better follow her," Reid said with a shy smile. "It was nice knowing with you."

"You can't just leave me here like this! These hurts! It hurts!" he screamed after Reid while Reid walked up the stairs to follow Emily.

Emily gave him a smile as he ran up next to her and together they continued searching through the house from where they left it when the bomb was supposed to go off. Reid took Emily's hand and squeezed it as they walked to the top floor.

There was no longer any fear or stress as they opened door after door in the search of a control room they knew existed somewhere within these walls. They didn't get frustrated when a door held a regular looking room either. Right now the only thing that matter was that they would get out alive.

Reid opened the next door and halted himself from stepping inside, noticing the big hole in the floor. The same hole where Hotch had fallen earlier. When he had made sure Emily didn't continue inside, he glanced around the room and saw a couple of computers lined up against the far end wall. This was where he had been and by cutting the hole in the floor he had made sure that no one would walk inside during his games. He was clever, they had to give him that, but it didn't change the fact that they had won.

Reid carefully stepped around the hole and approached the computers. On the screens they could see Rossi's house and they could hear Luke's screams. Emily saw the button that held the word 'front door' above. Next to it was the microphone and Emily smiled as she pushed the button to activate it and leaned in to speak.

"Game over," she said with a smirk and Reid pressed the 'front door' button.

Emily sprinted out of the room and down the stairs with Reid close behind her. They passed Luke without even looking his way and stopped in front of the now opened door. Freedom. They had made it out alive and only one of them a little hurt. Emily was weak, but at this moment, when walking out of Rossi's mansion, she was filled with a new dose of energy. Reid had to do all in his power as to not take Emily's hand in front of two of their friends. They could see Morgan and Beth standing over by a muscular police detective, but soon Morgan quickly made his way over to the pair.

"Man, are you two okay?" he asked, worriedly, embracing Emily and giving Reid a questioning glare.

"Ehm, yes... yes... we're okay. Luke's inside, ready to be taken into custody." Reid told him and Morgan walked past them, ready to kill whoever was tied to that chair.

Emily and Reid looked at Morgan's retreating figure and then at each other. They knew that Morgan would come back out soon, just as shocked as they had been when they met their Unsub. True enough, only seconds lately Morgan came back, shaking his head.

"That can't be. It can't be." he said, putting both hands on his head and started pacing. He soon stopped and pointed in the direction of the house. "He's just a boy. He couldn't possibly pull all of this together."

Emily couldn't help but to chuckle. "You better believe it. That boy in there might be young, but he is far from innocent."

Morgan shook his head. "I can't believe this. What happened while I left anyways? You don't look at all hurt." Morgan looked at Reid who was the only one completely uninjured.

Reid and Emily looked at each other, a red color spreading on both of their faces. They couldn't tell anyone about what Luke had made them do and that, strangely enough, they found themselves liking the intimacy. Of course if they would've have chosen they would never had gone through with it like that, but it still felt good.

"Our game was 'Playing house'," Reid explained. "I was the dad and Emily was the mom."

Morgan gazed between of them, clearly noticing the blush on their faces, but he didn't look anymore into it than what they'd just told him.

"But you're not hurt," Morgan asked confused. "So you escaped before he got the chance?"

"His plan was never to hurt me. This was his final plan. To have me and Emily alone as his parents." Reid looked to Emily. "Emily got a little hurt in the process. Our guess is that the mother was one of the bullies here so he thought that he could hurt Emily whenever she didn't do what he said."

"Wow," Morgan said in amazement. "This is one messed up kid."

"Tell me about it," Emily agreed, sharing a weak smile.

"I think it's best we take you to the hospital to get checked out," Reid suggested, showing with his eyes exactly what he meant by it.

"Oh.. erm... Let's go," Emily said quickly and started walking up to Beth who was ready to take her to a hospital.

Morgan looked after Emily. That was strange. Emily willingly going to the hospital to get checked out? It didn't happen often. Or ever. Something had to be up, Morgan just knew it. He shook his head and hurried to catch up to Emily and Reid. It was probably best to let the police handle the rest on the crime scene while he went to the hospital too. If not to get checked out, he needed to make sure that everyone else was okay. He gave a finale nod to the police detective who he'd talked to earlier, before getting into the passenger seat next to Beth.

Beth turned the car around and started driving in the direction of the hospital. Her eyes were on the road as she drove in silence, not knowing what to say. For her and Morgan it was an uncomfortable silence, but Reid and Emily enjoyed it. The pair each looked out their own window, watching as the scenery passed them by. One of their hands were resting on the middle seat and Reid, discretely, took a hold of Emily's, squeezing it softly. Emily smiled towards the window, a warm feeling filling her body.

She was so wind up in her thoughts that she didn't notice that the car came to a stop and the engine was turned of. What she did notice, though, was Reid abruptly letting go of her hand. Looking in his direction, she watched as he jumped out of the car and exhaling a shaky breath, she did the same. She refrained to taking Reid's hand again and instead walked behind him into the large building. They weren't a couple, but somehow these last couple of hours had brought them a lot closer and they found each other's touch calming.

"It's you again," the receptionist greeted Beth before glancing at the others. "You have more people that need help I see."

Beth nodded. "Yes, and I would like to know how the other agents are feeling."

"Yes, of course," the woman sighed. "Let me check." The woman started typing away on her computer and soon she looked up to them again. "So Kevin Lynch just..."

She didn't get any further before an all familiar voice spoke up. "You're out. You are all out. How?"

They turned to see JJ and Will making their way into the waiting room. Will still had a lot of bites covering his body, but the pain was mostly gone.

"We won," Emily stated simply.

"What happened?" JJ wondered, looking between Reid, Emily and Morgan.

"It's a long story," Reid said. "A story we will tell you as soon as Morgan and Emily have gotten help."

"I'm glad you're okay," JJ said and embraced the three agents one after one.

The clearing of a voice made them all turn towards the reception. "As I was saying, Mr. Lynch is out of surgery, Aaron Hotchner is not, Penelope Garcia is all wrapped up and David Rossi is also wrapped up. They're all gonna be fine."

Beth sighed in relief and as did the rest. Everyone would be okay. No one had died. It had all had worked out in their favor.

A week later they were all gathered in Hotch's room who was the last one to be allowed to leave the hospital. Emily had been allowed to leave the same day after taking a few tests. She had assured Reid that he had nothing to worry about. This wouldn't have made her pregnant since she was on the pill right now. He had still persuaded her to check since the pill weren't a 100% safe. She also knew this and that since she usually took it before going to bed she hadn't been able to take while at the house. Of course this wouldn't have mattered, she thought. There was no chance in hell that she was going to get knocked up.

Morgan also got discharged the same day, only needing a few stitches where the wire really had cut in. He was perfectly fine though.

They wanted to keep Rossi for another day or two just to make sure he wouldn't go blind and by now his eyesight was returning back to normal.

Garcia could leave after a couple of days. She lost a lot of blood which had made her weak, but the nails hadn't punctured any vital organs.

Kevin got to leave the day after Garcia. He got his arm put in a sling to help support it.

Then there was Hotch that was still lying in bed. The doctors needed him to heal from his concussion and internal bleeding. He was probably the one who had been closest to death and he was God damn lucky that nothing worse happened. Beth sat on the bed, next to him, holding his hand tightly. The kids were at Jessica's now so that they could have some grown-up talk.

Reid and Emily had to explain everything that had happened, leaving out the sex, from when Morgan had left until the failed bomb.

"Turns out making bombs was something he wasn't good at," Emily chuckled, remembering how scared she had been when she thought they were going to die.

"And thank God for that," Morgan said. "Or both of you would've gotten blown into pieces."

"I'm just happy that it didn't get worse than this," JJ said. "You have no idea how terrifying it was waiting outside, thinking that all of you would come out in body bags."

"What's gonna happen to him?" Beth asked.

"Juvenile until he turns 18 and then they'll go from there," Emily said, not a hint of sadness in her voice.

Sure, he was just a kid, but she wanted to see him behind bars for what he did. They all did. But they knew that Luke wouldn't be a free man in a long, long time.

Emily dropped her bag next to the door as she entered her apartment later that night. She was completely exhausted after all the paperwork they'd had to fill in and all the testimonies they'd had to give. It had definitely been a long couple of days, but so much good had come out of them too. She wondered if she would have admitted her hidden feelings for Reid if this hadn't happen or if she would've seen him more as a man. A cute, but unbelievably sexy man. Yes, Emily Prentiss now thought of Spencer Reid as sexy. Something had just clicked inside of her and it was as if Reid was standing in a different light. A fact she really couldn't make sense of. Was it because of the way he had made sure she was okay, how he'd worried so much about her, or was it because she now knew just what he was capable of.

Emily shook her head with a chuckle. Her thoughts were running wild. She opened the cabinet and took out some food for Sergio who immediately came to where his food bowl stood. Emily filled the bowl and watched as Sergio happily dug in. Leaving Sergio alone to eat, she made her way up the stairs and to her bathroom ready take a long, hot bath. She turned on the water and went to her bedroom to strip out of her clothes.

She grabbed a robe and walked back to the bathroom, letting it fall of her shoulders before stepping into the hot water. She was barely able to let herself relax before the shrill sound of the phone rang through the apartment. With a groan she pushed herself up on her feet and reached for her robe.

The phone was still ringing as she descended the stairs. She quickly grabbed the phone and clicked answer.

"Prentiss."

"Emily? It's Spencer," she heard on the other end, making her smile as she slumped down on the couch.

"Hey, you," Emily said back. "What's up?"

"I was wondering if you'd like to go out tomorrow. Only you and me."

Emily didn't even think for a second before answering. "I'd love to."

She could hear Reid releasing a breath on the other end, letting her know just how nervous he'd been to ask her out.

"Can I pick you up tomorrow at eight?" he asked.

"Perfect, can't wait," Emily said happily. "See you then."

She hung up and looked at the phone she was holding in her lap, a wide smile still on her lips. This was the last thing she would've thought to happen when she started at the BAU all those years ago and met the young genius. The way she had teased him and how awkward he had been around girls. And now that Emily had reached her 40s she really thought that she would spend the rest of her life with Serigo. Maybe that would change. Maybe there was something more out for her. For her and Reid.

"Maybe I'm too late to be your first. But right now, I'm preparing myself to be your last."
