A/N: Thank you to everyone that has reviewed my little story here! It is soooooo appreciated! OMG – YES – I was soooo excited when Steve tweeted to me, I really never expected that he would even see it, let alone reply to it! Still on Cloud Nine about it…. Glad I'm keeping everyone guessing about who's doing what…..that's cool…..I wasn't sure that I could do that, so it's kinda neat to know that I'm really keeping it under wraps the way I was hoping it would be…but keep guessing…..there are a few of you that have guessed some right people (and that's all I'm gonna say)!
Still not mine…and if they were, Steve would have never left to go to Y&R (even though I think he's doing a fab job on there, from what I've seen)! But, of course, he would still be on GH and Liason would be together, if they were mine…..unfortunately…..they are not…..that's my disclaimer…..don't sue me…..I have no $$, I did this for fun and enjoyment!
Chapter Forty-Five
Christmas morning dawned bright and early in the slowly forming Morgan household. Jason was awake with the sun coming up. He held a still sleeping Elizabeth in his arms and was just enjoying the sereneness on her beautiful features. It was entirely too early for Cameron to be up yet, but he could hear the telltale pitter-patter of toddler feet on the hallway floor outside their bedroom door. The new father had learned his lesson pretty quickly about forgetting to put clothes back on before going to sleep the night Elizabeth had told him that her divorce would be finalized the next day.
FLASHBACK
The sound of the door opening had woken him in an instant. It only took him a moment to assess the situation. Both he and Elizabeth were still naked from the multiple rounds of lovemaking that they had partaken in. He quickly glanced to make sure that they were both sufficiently covered from the toddler's eyes – no sense in scarring him for life this early on. He was so embarrassed about being caught with his pants off!
Feeling a finger poking him in the chest, Jason was surprised that Cameron had come to him rather than wake up his mommy. "Jay-son" the toddler whispered.
Turning his head so that he could look at his son, "Hi Cam, what is it? Are you okay?"
With a trembling lip and tears in his eyes, he shook his head 'no'.
Carefully sitting up, Jason moves to pick the boy up as the toddler backs away from the bed. Immediately concerned, "Cam, come here," he urges him gently. "Tell me what's wrong so I can fix it."
Hesitantly Cameron comes closer to the bed, as Jason scoops him up and sits him on his lap, he immediately realizes what the problem is – the toddler had wet the bed. Cradling the boy closely, he crooned to him, "Oh son, it's okay, we'll get you cleaned up in no time. Can you do me a favor?"
Looking up at his new hero with tears streaming down his face, "Uh-huh, what?"
As he wipes the tears off the boy's face, he asks, "Can you go into your bathroom and start taking off your PJs for me? I'll be right in behind you to run your bath. Okay?"
"Yous not mad at me, Jay-son?"
Completely confused, he replied, "No, buddy, why would I be mad at you? You just had an accident. It happens to everybody when they're learning about going potty. We'll just clean you and your bed up and you'll be good as new!"
"Weally? Yous mean it? Cos Daddy was always mad at me if I's went potty in da bed."
Somehow, someway, Jason managed to keep a reign on his anger, but he saw red. 'What the fuck is wrong with Luckless Spencer? Why the fuck do you get mad at a little boy who has an accident?' "Cam, I promise you, I am absolutely not mad at you. I love you very much. It's okay that you had an accident, honest. I hope you believe me."
Cameron stared at Jason for a minute then said, "Otay, I's wuv you, too! Fank yous for not being mad at me!" Then he hopped down off the bed to do as Jason had asked.
From the other side of the bed, a lethally feminine voice stated, "I'm going to kill Lucky Spencer!"
Jason turned to look at her, "Not if I kill him first." He pulled Elizabeth into his arms, knowing how upset she was at Lucky's treatment of her baby boy. He was going to kill Luckless Spencer the very first chance that he got! That bastard would be swimming with the fishes and soon.
Tears streaming down her face, "I can't believe he would treat my baby that way. I can't believe Cam never told me about it, either. Thank you Jason, you were so good with him."
Well, he was no longer embarrassed about his state of undress, but it didn't mean he wouldn't try to remember to put something on before he went to sleep!
END FLASHBACK
Feeling a finger poking him in the chest, Jason was no longer surprised when Cameron came to his side of the bed. "Jay-son" the toddler whispered.
Turning his head to the side so that he could look at his son, "Hi Cam, what is it? Are you okay?" This had now become their routine, whether something was wrong or not. Cam enjoyed the novelty of poking Jason and "whispering" at him, knowing that he was usually already awake. He thought it was funny.
"Jay-son….it's Chwismas! We's need to wook and sees if Santa came!" the two year old exclaimed as he climbed up into the bed with his parents.
"Well, I'm sure he did, but mommy is still sleeping," Jason whispered back to the toddler. "Why don't you lie back down with us for a few minutes until mommy wakes up and then we can all go down together and see what loot you got? You know mommy won't want to miss seeing what you got from Santa."
Seriously thinking it over, Cameron decided that his new daddy was right. Curling up beside Jason, "Otay daddy, I's wait for mommy to wakes up to sees if Santa bwought me stuffs," promptly yawning and drifting back to sleep.
Jason's eyes filled with tears as he hugged the little boy to him and feeling Elizabeth's tears falling on his chest. He looked down at her with wonder in his eyes, "He called me Daddy." Elizabeth sat up and hugged Jason to her as the most feared enforcer on the East Coast fell to pieces because her little boy had called him "daddy". A few days ago Cameron had been in tears because his "daddy" used to be angry with him for bed-wetting incidents, and this morning, that same beautiful little boy and called Jason 'daddy'. It was everything he had wanted in his life, and everything he had missed out on in the other timeline.
