Wow. Sorry for the incredibly lengthy delay between chapters. When I said I was confident I wouldn't be able to hold a consistent update schedule, this is precisely what I meant. And with school starting up, I can almost guarantee it'll continue. Unfortunately. But hey, here's a new chapter! It's a weird one.
"You ready?" Phineas asked, as he, Ferb, Isabella, Buford and Baljeet climbed into the time machine in the museum.
"You bet we are!" replied Isabella, speaking for the whole group.
"All right, folks," Phineas began, in a deep voice which he felt sounded cool. "We're about to do something no one has dared to do before. There is scum in the timestream. People out there are changing the course of history, either intentionally or accidentally. Our job is to stop them, and to revert history to the way it should be."
Phineas paused for breath, then pulled an object out of his pocket – the fossilized doll. "This object was found in the Flynn-Fletcher antique shop. As you may be able to tell, it is a My Little Pony doll. It has also been fossilized, and is doubtlessly proof of temporal interference." At that, he pushed the lever on the time machine down, and in an instant they were sometime in the Cretaceous.
Baljeet quickly spotted something out of the corner of his eye. "Hey, is that Buford?"
"Don't be silly," said Phineas. "Buford's right here – " He paused, seeing it too. Buford – another Buford – was walking around to their left.
Phineas instinctively got out of the time machine and walked over to him, calling out his name. "Hey, Buford!"
Buford turned around. "Phineas?"
"Time police." Phineas held up the doll. "Is this your doing?"
Buford paused, then shouted, "Buford, catch!" As he shouted this, he threw a My Little Pony doll – bright, pink, and definitely not fossilized – in the general direction of the time machine.
"No!" Phineas screamed. He tried to run towards the flying doll, but he had no chance. It landed directly in the hands of the other Buford, who then reached for the lever. Phineas dove, and was able to stop him from activating the time machine.
"Why did you do that?" The Buford in the time machine was infuriated.
"Look, Buford," Phineas said, largely ignoring Buford's question. "When exactly did you come back here?"
"I don't remember coming back here at all!" Buford's voice seemed genuine.
All of a sudden, another voice interrupted: "Eleven PM the day you left." It was the other Buford.
Phineas turned, confused. "Uh… okaaay." He turned back to the Buford who had come with him in the time machine and said, "I guess… don't?
"Uh… sure." Buford seemed unnerved as he said it. A split second later, the other Buford vanished in a puff of smoke, and everyone else found themselves at the museum.
A few seconds after they arrived, Phineas was still trying to wrap his head around what had gone down. So was everyone else. Ferb spoke for the whole crowd: "No more of that. My head hurts."
Phineas wondered about Lawrence.
