Suicide
Lucy walked into the guild with her head down. She ignored all of the whispers and sat down at one of the tables. She played with her wrist band. She was itching to go back to her place and finish things. As of late, she had been depressed. Her life was being torn apart. Her father died and she felt guilty about not talking to him more. The guilt had been eating her alive and she felt as if she was too weak to fight alongside her comrades. She barely ever talked to any of her friends anymore. Instead she took jobs alone and locked herself in her room. Everyone thought she wold just get over it, but things were just getting worse. Lucy had started cutting her wrists more and more. She cried herself to sleep at night and thought the world would be a better place without her. She tried to stay at the guild so she wouldn't harm herself. Erza noticed a scar on Lucy's wrist as the blonde played with the wristband. She wanted to reach out and help the blonde, but she didn't know how. Lucy avoided everyone nowadays. Erza watched as Lucy stood up and exited the guild. Lucy walked down the street and headed for her apartment. She unlocked her door and entered. When she shut the door, she didn't even lock it. She fell to her knees and pulled her wristband off. So many scars and fresh cuts covered her skin. She pulled out her knife and shakily put it to her wrist. She felt a tear slip down her cheek and she dragged the knife across her skin. She watched blood ooze out. She was useless. This world didn't need someone like her. She pressed the knife to her skin once more and this time she cut her wrist a little deeper. With each cut, Lucy felt calmer. She could end everything right here. She could rid herself of this world. She started to cut herself again when a hand placed itself onto hers. The hand grasped the knife and took it away from her. Lucy turned to look at Erza with tear filled eyes.
"W-why..."
"Lucy. Please stop this." Erza said in a calm voice. Lucy clenched her fists.
"I'm useless...this world doesn't need me."
"That's not true Lucy. You are strong in your own way."
"I can't fight."
"You don't always need to fight."
"You guys always protect me...I can't even help you."
"Lucy do you know how many times you have helped us? A lot. It may not seem like it, but we need you beside us. You are a strong member of our team. Without you, we wouldn't be as strong. Do you know why?"
Lucy shook her head. Erza smiled.
"You are our nakama."
"Erza..." Lucy dropped her head and Erza let Lucy cry on her shoulder.
"You don't have to go through this alone anymore Lucy. I'm going to be right beside you. I won't let you feel lonely ever again. I need you in my life Lucy. You mean everything to me so please show me that you can be strong and fight."
Lucy looked into Erza's eyes and saw nothing but the truth. She cried even harder and nodded into Erza's shoulder. She wasn't alone and she would fight. Fight for the one person who mattered most in her life.
