4. the light that cast them is not far
"Lieutenant Han Solo, ma'am," he saluted before she gave him the at ease. She asked, as she had always asked: why. She got a story she'd never heard before - but every time she heard a story (no, they were supposed to be reasons, or excuses) she had never heard ot before except for one glaring element.
"My commanding office," Lieutenant Solo explained in that stiff militaristic manner every Imperial had, "Was a jackass who sent me here to be killed. Begging your pardon, ma'am, but your reptuation."
The Emperor's apprentice stood, momentarily stunned by the blunt honesty - the honesty.
"Welcome aboard the Executer, Lieutenant," she greeted with a small smile.
Vader's Admiral was baffled.
