….. REALLY GUYS?! Only two reviews?! TT-TT What happened?! Is it because I took so long to update last time? Has everybody stopped reading this now…? TT-TT I feel sad now…
Oh well… I keep writing this for the sake of those who might still read this…
In chapter 6 I said this fic was if the canon never happened. Well, that was a complete and utter lie. It does happen as canon. It does and will. Since I've changed the plot thousands of times ever since this fic started… but I think I've finally chosen one. And so, this fic shall continue on!
And if you want to know why I took so long updating this time, it was because I was waiting to see if more reviews came. I know you guys have your own reasons for not reviewing or anything, and I respect that. Hell, if the favourites I've been getting and stuff are anything to go by, people still want to read this. I'll update this even if I don't get reviews, but they are nice, even if they're just 'It was a great chappie' or something (As long as you're not lying to make me feel better, of course! I mean, I'd appreciate the thought but no lies… Tell the truth.). They give me motivation (though death threats are actually the best for motivation… ^w^). So reviews = faster update times. Death threats = even faster update times. Simples, yes?
I like Alois. He brings a bit of humour to what will eventually become a very dark arc… XD
DISCLAIMER – I own everything that could possibly exist. Even you. For I am Kira, God of this new world!
Charice: Yeah… she's going through a Death Note phase. It'll be over eventually. *drags me away by my collar* She owns nothing. Not even me… * evil laugh*
Me: BUT I AM KIRAAAAAAAAAA! DX *shot by Matsuda and killed by Ryuk*
Blading Brings People Together
Chapter 21: Phantom Beys?!
"… Mitsuki Malicsi! I, Alois Halkias, challenge you to a Beyblade battle!"
Finally… Mitsuki had been forced to play along with Alois and had to repeat everything she had said before. If her 'performance wasn't good enough' or 'not believable enough', the blond would step back into the shadows, and they'd have to start again from the beginning. She sighed inwardly at the boy's childishness, knowing that if she did it aloud they would have to start all over again.
"Well? Do you accept?"
"Yes…"
"Good! Honestly, I can't be bothered to waste my time playing around with you anymore. It was fun at first, but I have business to take care of. And so," Insert Super Sexy Hair Flip here, "the duel begins now!"
"H-hey, hold on! I need to get my bey ready first!" Mitsuki cried, digging her hands into her pockets.
"Ugh, hurry up… You've wasted enough of my time already!" The hazel-eyed girl wanted to make a sharp retort after his remark, because really, he had been the one wasting time. But she refrained from doing so in fear of the blond, since he seemed ready to kill her if she put a toe out of line.
With one fluid move, Mitsuki pulled out her bey and her launcher from their respective pockets and twisted the bey into place. She held it out in front of her, heart pounding in anticipation. This was a battle where she knew nothing about her opponent, yet he seemed to know everything about her. It certainly appeared to be to her disadvantage, but if she played her cards right… she could use that to turn the fight around.
"Ready." She grinned, already thinking up a battle strategy.
"Bloody hell, finally! Thank you!" Alois attached his bey to his launcher, eyes suddenly glinting with malicious intent. "Get ready to disappear into the darkness!"
"3… 2… 1… Let it rip!" Mitsuki launched her bey, but quickly realised something was amiss – Alois' bey wasn't anywhere to be seen!
"Y-you! You didn't launch your b-" And then she realised his launcher was empty, and the rip cord was still in Alois' hand. Her eyes widened in shock, "But how-" Suddenly she glimpsed a flash of orange flying straight towards her, and realised it was nothing less than her very own Rock Vulpecula. Just as her mind processed this information, Mitsuki felt something rock-hard smash into her forehead, causing her vision to blur as something trickled down her face and into her eyes. Blood, she quickly worked out from the extreme pain coming from her forehead, and that it felt warm and sticky…
"W-why…" She slurred out, brain already struggling to string two words together.
"You were simply in the way." The boy giggled darkly.
All Mitsuki saw before her world turned to black were those eyes glowing through the oncoming darkness and the murky shadows that lurked deep within them, hidden beneath a sea of electric-blue.

Completely out of the blue, Leonidas started began to chuckle. It was a deep sort of noise, and yet it was quite melodious. Even so, Miku was completely confused as to why he was actually chuckling. Something on her face must have portrayed her confusion, since when the noise stopped, Leonidas said with a small and cruel smile upon his lips,
"Your friend has fallen."
"… You mean Mitsuki? She fell over? Meh, she'll be fine. I'm sure she's just tripped over her feet again." Miku flipped it off, waving a hand nonchalantly.
"…" Leonidas lowered his head, his two violet orbs shutting in annoyance. A shadow fell over his face. "You know, I think I have had enough of this."
"Enough of what?" Miku asked cluelessly (and rather stupidly). At her response, those orbs flew open, their mellow hue rapidly shifting to an intense purple flaring with anger.
"This! This is what I am exasperated with! You… how can you be so nonsensical?! Ludicrous, absurd, obtuse?!" He snapped, eyes narrowing with every insult he threw at the poor girl.
"… I don't understand. Uh… speak English please?"
"…" Leonidas could not believe how dense this girl was. Even if she didn't know what the words meant, that wasn't the problem! At least she could try to read the mood and understand that he was angry at her! "… You are really getting on my nerves now."
"What did I do?!" Miku protested, looking completely and utterly baffled.
"Den boró̱ na pistépso̱ póso anói̱toi eíste!" Annoyed was most certainly an understatement if you were describing how enraged Leonidas was at that moment in time! So much that he even switched into Greek… and he very rarely spoke it unless it was absolutely necessary – so either when he saw his parents (which was rare enough as it was), or he was extremely angered.
"H-huh?!"
Just as Leonidas was about to leap forwards and strangle the black-haired girl, his younger brother came racing up the stairs, two steps at a time.
"Adelfós, adelfós! I've taken that Mitsuki girl out!" He skidded to a halt in front of Miku. "But apparently… you haven't finished your job." A wide smirk spread across Alois's face. "Haha! I've finally beaten you, adelfós!" Leonidas's eye was twitching ever-so-slightly as he glared at his younger brother,
"Be silent, Alois. Since when has this been a competition between us, hm? I highly doubt that you could beat me if we ever had a proper competition. You and I both know I am far superior to you, intellectually and physically." As these words were said, Leonidas allowed a small yet cocky smirk appear on his face," No matter what contest you decide on, I shall always come out on top, yes? Because it is plainly obvious that-"
"Yeah, yeah. You're better than me in every way possible. Blah, blah, blah. Do you know how many times you've said those exact words to me? And yet, you never even challenge me. Surprising, isn't it?" Alois grinned, rocking back and forth childishly. "Anywaaaaay~!" Turning to Miku, who had been watching the whole interaction between the two brothers with barely concealed confusion, the blond held out his bey, which was already attached to the launcher, and aimed it at her. "Fight me, peasant! I'll destroy you with my Phantom bey!"
"Peasant?! Ooh, you're going down now, pretty boy!" Miku scowled, bending down to rummage around in her jet-black boots. Both brothers looked at one another, a confused expression on their faces (or at least, confusion in Leonidas's eyes – he never showed any signs of weakness if he could help it). "Gah, where is it…?" She stuck the tip of her tongue out, obviously concentrating on whatever it was she was doing. After another few seconds of that, the black-haired girl finally pulled out a bey and a launcher from her boots, holding it up above her head with a grin. "Found you! Now…" Her grin widened until it almost matched Alois's previous one, "I'll happily take you down with my Storm Lynx!"
"Tch, finally! What is it with you people and taking so long to get ready?! First the Mitsuki girl and now you… If Charice takes just as long, I won't even wait for her!"
"What do you want with Charice?! She's really upset right now! If you do anything to upset her even more… I'll kill you!" Miku's grin quickly disappeared and was replaced by a serious looking—expression which no-one could identify, since it had never been seen on her before. If Miku was being serious… What was the world coming to?!
"Pahahaha! You? Kill me? You're too pathetic to even come close to managing that!" Alois giggled, which unnerved Miku only slightly…
"Alois, I believe this girl was my target, was she not?" The blond almost fell down the stairs from how his brother had pushed him out of the way. "Forgive me, but I refuse to allow my prey to be stolen from me." Growling, Alois glowered at the back of Leonidas's head, although it didn't really have much of an effect on him. "Go get Charice. I shall take care of this nuisance."
"… Fine! You sooooo owe me though!" With a final glare at Leonidas, Alois shoved past Miku and kicked down the door which supposedly belonged to Charice. "Oi! Charice! You in there?"
"Uh… wrong door?" Miku chuckled nervously at the death-glare that was sent her way. "She's in that one…" She pointed at the next door on her right.
"Thank you for being so stupid~!" Acting as if he hadn't just kicked down the wrong door, Alois skipped over to the correct door and kicked it down. "I'm coming in~!" He walked into the room with a spring in his step, while Miku still tried to work out what just happened. And then it clicked.
"HEY! YOU TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME!" Miku was seething with anger at being outsmarted by the blond.
"IT REALLY WASN'T THAT HARD!" Alois yelled back, before he casually pulled the door off the floor and shoved it back into the door frame.
"Grr… Now I'm angry!" She snapped, and turned her glare towards Leonidas, who had set up his launcher and bey by that point. "I'll just take out my anger on you, yeah?!"
"Of course." With a deep sigh, he rolled his eyes. "Let us fight now. I have waited far too long for this. 3… 2… 1…"
"LET IT RIP!"
/=+=/
Alois stalked towards the lump on the bed, and gave it a hard poke. A small 'ow' was heard, confirming the blond's suspicions.
"Oh Charice, why don't you come out from there now? I won't hurt you… At least, not yet." After receiving nothing but a very fake sounding cough in response, he poked the lump again. "Come on now, I know you're not sick~!" Another cough. "… Don't make me tickle you." This time, the lump hesitated before coughing again. "Alright… you asked for it~!" Alois reached over and started tickling whatever parts of the lump he could get to. A choked laugh came from under the covers, and then it burst into a fit of giggles as he tickled the lump.
"St-stop it!"
"Alas! The lump speaks!" He cheered, and stopped his tickling. The lump took several large, deep breaths, still recovering from its laughing fit.
"Who are you?" The lump asked, shifting about slightly under the covers.
"You mean you don't recognise me from my voice? Aw, I'm hurt!" Even though he knew Charice couldn't see it, Alois still pouted.
"No… should I?" Charice asked warily, wondering who exactly the person could be. The person was, obviously, male – that much she could tell from the voice. But nothing else could be deducted from it…
"In an ideal world you should… But I suppose I'll let you off. Come out from under there and you'll see who I am."
"Ok…" Charice slowly crawled out from under the covers, hands ready to reach for Wyvern if she had to attack. But the person standing in front of her didn't move or respond, not even as she gaped and uttered breathlessly, "I-it's you…"
Yay for taking ages to upload a new chappie! … I'm sorry. I really am… Homework and school has been getting to me… . Please forgive me! Take some get-out-of-school-free cards!
