A painful grunt through grit teeth came from a very bruised face girl as the soft bone snapped back into places. Tears were streaming down her swollen cheeks without her permission. Her fists clenched so tight her nails dug into her fresh. But at least the process was now done and over; she was guaranteed to not have a nasty broken nose.
"Stop making such a big deal over nothing! It's just fixing a broken nose, human!" snapped the little green imp demon. His eyes squinted in annoyance.
"Just a broken nose?!" Rin spoke; her head was pounding from the painful nose. And that did little to improve her mood. "Maybe I should break that nasty nose of yours and see if you'll still think 'it's just a broken nose'!"
"You dare threatening me?! I can turn you into ashes in minutes!" Jaken waved his staff of two-headed at the human girl. The staff could shoot powerful fire and burned its enemy to roast meat. He would not have this slave acting high and mighty in front of him! He was Sesshomaru's servant while she was only a slave!
Why did Sesshomaru even need a slave Jaken knew not. But he would not question his lord's decision.
"Oh it's not a threat, little nasty toad!" Rin got up, ready to grasp or kick the tiny creature.
"Come any closer and I will burn you to nothingness!" Jaken positioned his staff at the ready.
The fight would have been a nasty one if they continued. However, they never got the chance to find out how badly it could go.
"Jaken," called the deep calm voice.
"Yes, Lord Sesshomaru?" the little creature turned to face his master.
"Go fetch some food." Sesshomaru ordered coldly.
Jaken's jaw dropped in disbelief. "Me? Why?" Because he was never ordered to find food before. And this only meant to find food for the human. "She's not a child! She can find food for herself!" He protested.
"You dare defy me?" Sesshomaru shot him the glares that could shorten his life span a few years. Jaken gulped, sweats dripping from his forehead.
"No, my lord." He bowed in submission.
"Then go!" Sesshomaru ordered.
The imp demon started rushing toward a direction of the forest, muttered nasty words as he went. Rin stared after him in awe, wondered why the demon lord let it slide.
"Rin."
She looked back to the dog demon whose cold eyes looked elsewhere.
"Go take a bath. You stink."
If her face had not been so bruised she would have blush. She was very angry for him to point it out, but could not deny that she was smelled. Without saying a word, she strolled angrily toward the direction of the waterfall. The noises of the water hitting the ground would lead the way.
"And don't run away. If you do, I will be force to watch you bath next time." His monotone voice told her.
She stopped in her track, almost stumbled and fell, turning sharply around. Her mouth opened and closed a few times, but no word came out. Sesshomaru was staring off at wherever he did before as if he had never said anything.
"Pervert!" she shouted at him.
"You have nothing worthy for me to see." He retorted coldly. He shifted his gaze back to the fuming woman to make his point. Rin really, really wanted to punch that asshole of a demon's face. "Bath peacefully and save me from seeing your pitiful naked form." He said the word emotionlessly and effortlessly as if he was asking if she would want to drink tea.
Rin cringed at the thought of having him watching her bath. Her angry eyes shot him more daggers before she turned around and stormed away.
"Jerk!" she muttered as she went. Not that she planned to run away now. She barely had enough strength to walk. She needed to fill her empty stomach first or otherwise she would collapse as she goes.
To Sesshomaru, the fun had just begun. However, he meant what he said. He did not want to see her naked form.
After the bath, the girl returned to the group where Sesshomaru sat in his place as if he had grew roots. Jaken had found her some mushrooms and other edible wild plaints. He was making a small fire, muttering angrily as he did so.
Rin wolf down the food within the next few minutes, she had not eating in days. The food was not anything fancy, but at the moment it was the best food in the world.
"Slow down human! You won't chock and died on me. Spear me from burying your worthless disgusting body!" Jaken shouted from the side.
"Shut up unless you want to be eaten!" Rin threated. But at the moment, she was so hungry it did not sound much like a threat.
Jaken's jaw dropped, his eyes enlarged, lost for word. He could not believe that Rin had just declared eating him! It was supposed to be the other way. Demon eating human, not the other way around.
The day went by in a peaceful fashion. Or as peaceful as the two smart mouths battering at each other could go.
Jaken was ordered to watch over Rin, follow her anywhere. Of course the little demon was not happy with that fact. He was too important to babysit this human rebellious slave. But he was smart enough to not voice that out loud in front of Sesshomaru.
After lunch, Sesshomaru lead them deeper into the forest. Rin was looking around, remembering the way, studying the landscape, as well as looking for a way to escaped.
The demon lord walked in silent. He never said a word.
Jaken was talking too much, sometimes Rin ignored him completely. Well, no one would want to listen to a foot tall demon boosting about his self-important.
The walked continued. It felt like forever to Rin. Then she stopped and strayed out of the way. They were surrounded by tall trees.
"Hey, where do you think you are going?" Jaken shouted sharply.
Sesshomaru had stopped walking as well and turned to look at her.
"I need some privacy to take care of my business." She told them smartly.
Sesshomaru did not react, but Jaken could never keep his mouth shut.
"What kind of business? You are not going anywhere alone!"
"Jaken," Sesshomaru interrupted. He did not interest in their nonsense endless barking.
"Yes, my lord?" he asked in wondered.
"Take Ah-Un to the river and wash them up. We will stay here for the night." The demon lord ordered. He could hear the water running a few miles away. It would keep the imp occupied for sometimes and leave him in peace.
"But what about her?" Jaken looked toward the human girl, making his point. Rin stood cockily over the fact that the imp was send off.
Sesshomaru did not answer, finding a good spot and sat elegantly against a tree.
Jaken took that as a cue and started off with Ah-Un toward the river, complaining about this and that on his way. The tiny imp always finds things to complain about.
Rin stood in her place, a big grinned on her swollen face. Just to poke on the demon, she asked, "I am going to 'poop'. Still wanna come along and watch?" she taunted him lightly, emphasized on the word "POOP", enjoyed the moment.
Sesshomaru turned his head toward her. His face remained its signature bored expression. The whole forest fell in silence.
Her smug grin slowly disappeared and replaced with uncertainty when Sesshomaru kept on staring at her. Did he actually considering coming with her? Rin felt goose bumps rose all over her body.
He certainly NOT COMING WITH HER!
She started to fidgets, shuddered at the mental image of him watching her doing her business.
Satisfied with the terror expression on her face, he coolly stated, "No". His eyes were dancing with amusement.
"Jerk!" she muttered angrily before storming away. The demon was enjoying torment her!
And in deed, Sesshomaru was enjoyed toying with his new slave. It had only been a day and he could already been entertained greatly. He was looking forward to great time with her in the near future.
And again, Rin disagreed with him.
