Normal pov

The following week Cloud visited Leon in the hospital everyday. There had not been any changes and he had not yet awakened. The weather was steadily getting colder and the trees lost their colours. Autumn was ending and winter approaching. Cloud had a final essay to finish and since he did not want to be away from Leon's side if he were to wake up. Roxas and Axel came and visited, but they had school to attend, tests to prepare to, and Axel wanted to spend as much time with Roxas as possible. He wanted to get to know him better, and he wanted Roxas to know him. Riku and Sora mostly came over because Sora brought things Cloud would need, and better food (what Roxas made). Reno and Rude kept watch over them and even followed Sora and Roxas to school. Since Cloud spent most of his time at the hospital he did not need to be watched as much. It had been a week since Leon ended up in a coma. Cloud put his essay aside and decided to just talk to Leon, even if he would not answer. He told him about his brothers and what they were doing and things that had happened.

"You know, when you wake up you really owe me a couple of dinners." He gazed at Leon's still face. "It's really rude to not answer and that's not like you." There was no response, not that Cloud had expected one but he still hoped. "I really miss talking to you. When I get home I actually expect you to sit at the kitchen table because you stayed over so often." His lips turned up in a small, sad smile, shifting his gaze to Leon's hand. "Roxas was right about when he said that once I commit to someone, it's deeply. Because nothing can explain how I can miss you this much, and I know you'll wake up, because you don't get a say in it. But I'm still afraid and it has gone too fast and you have yet to tell me…" Cloud was struggling to keep his tears at bay and couldn't finish the sentence. "Just wake, please." He felt a movement in his hands and startled. "Leon?" He saw Leon's hand twitch and looked up at his face. "Leon, it's me." Leon's eyes opened slowly and Cloud felt his control weaken a little. "Nurse!" He called and pressed a button. "Leon, you…"

The nurse came in and just then the heart monitor sped up before it flat lined. Cloud was taken outside and watched as the doctor tried to get Leon's heart to restart.

"No, please, Leon, don't…" Cloud couldn't hold his tears and they flowed freely down his cheeks.

Roxas' pov

Why did I have to sit here and listen to Sora raving on the theme for a party he wants? Axel was lucky; he could stay home and work on his homework while I'm stuck here. Every year, Sora wanted a new theme for our birthday party, he had come up with preposterous ideas such as: celebrities, food courses, animals, and what not, none of them that appealing.

"How about a grim party?" Sora exclaimed.

"What? I thought you wanted a happy one?" I asked confused, Sora could not even be grim.

"Not 'grim'," He sighed exasperated. "I mean the Brothers Grimm. The theme will be their fairy-tales." He said looking very exited.

"…Fine, I have nothing against them I suppose." It was no point arguing anyway because Sora would not relent.

"Great! Now we only have to fix the invitation cards and then you can hand them out while I prepare the decorations." He said and left.

We had already finished the invitation list so I only had to design the actual invitations and write when, where, dress code (though it did not have to be so serious), and why, then it was only the names on every single one. When I was done I printed it and put them in envelopes and, again, wrote every single name. We even prepared one for Reno and Rude, and of course Leon. He was going to get his later when I visited the hospital. As I was about to leave Riku and Sephiroth came over. I told Riku that his invitation was on the table. Sephiroth decided to stay until either Cloud or I came back since Reno was going to follow me. After I put the invitations in the letterboxes around in the town, we met Tidus who promised to hand out the invitations to those on Destiny Islands since he was on his way back and then Reno took me over to Twilight Town. We went to Reno and Axel's house since I did not know where Zexion or Demyx were at the moment and I did not have their numbers either. It was a dead-like Axel I saw as I entered his room. Reno had been kind enough to let me into the house.

"How's it going, Axel?" Axel turned so fast I thought he would topple over.

"Roxas! Please save me from this torture." He left the desk and practically tackled me. "What are you doing here?" He asked sounding slightly confused.

I couldn't really answer his question because I was sort of crushed into his chest and did not have enough space to get any sound out of my mouth or even move it. I had to stomp his foot so he would relinquish his hold.

"Finally, I can breathe."

"Sorry." Axel chuckled sheepishly.

"Now just one more thing then I'll explain." I said before standing on my tiptoes and dragged him down for a chaste kiss.

Axel always seems to brighten when I kiss him. Even his hair looks livelier.

"I came here to give you this." I gave him the invitation and watched slightly nervous as he opened and read it.

"Grimm, huh. Will you be my little red riding hood so I can go as the big bad wolf?" He smirked.

"I don't know what I'll be, Sora usually fixes the costumes."

Axel looked thoughtful and a grin stretched over his face.

"Alright, and of course I'll be there, it's not every day my little sweetheart has his birthday."

"I'll give you for 'sweetheart'." I punched his belly, not too hard though, and couldn't keep the satisfied smirk of my face as he whimpered.

"You know, Roxas, what we share sure is a very tough love. Bordering on painful even." He grunted as he massaged the area I had hit him.

"Don't worry, I'll make it better."

I put my hands underneath his shirt and traced soft circular motions on his skin so he would relax. Axel's eyes closed about halfway at the soothing motions. I had not even noticed that I had moved my hands up to his chest until I touched his nipples and Axel's hands took a hold of my covered ones and kept them still.

"Thank you." He smiled, his pupils were slightly dilated and his breathing not as smooth.

"Anytime." I pecked him on the lips. "Now I should try and find Demyx and Zexion and give them their invitations. Have you any idea where they are?" I asked and took a step back so I would not have to crane my neck too much.

"They are coming over later so we can study. You want me to hand them over?"

"Yes, please. I'll promise to make it up to you."

"I'm sure you will."

I decided to ignore the lecherous tone and walked out of the room, Axel following me to the door where Reno stood and waited.

"You two lovebirds done then? Soon time for dinner, yo."

"Yeah, yeah, you need to leave I understand." Axel pouted. "Hand over those invitations and then you can leave."

Axel waved us off and we left for the car. Now that all invitations…

"Oh, I actually forgot. Here is yours and Rude's invitations." Reno looked surprised and glanced at me quickly before looking at the road again.

"Thank you, yo." He took the invitations and put them in his pocket.

When we got home I heard Sora talking really excitedly, probably to Riku. Fortunately he was interrupted by his mobile phone.

"Who is it?" I asked as I entered the living room.

"It's Cloud." Sora frowned and answered. "Hello?" Sora's frown deepened at something. "Cloud? Are you crying?" That surprised me since Cloud seldom cried. "What?" Sora's eyes widened and he dropped his phone.

"How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, Cloud, I'm just a bit tired." Leon smiled softly.

"You want me to leave?" Cloud gnawed worriedly on his lower lip.

"No, I like having you here… although, I feel guilty." Leon said tiredly.

"Why?"

"Because you look really drained and your eyes are red." Cloud blushed and looked away.

"…I thought you died."

"I'm sorry." Cloud choked out a shuddering laugh.

"It's not your fault, it was just… I…"

The emotional roller coaster was still fresh in his mind and he could not finish his thoughts. Leon reached for his hand and brought it to his lips bestowing upon it a kiss. The blush grew deeper on Cloud's cheeks. The sound of hurried footsteps neared Leon's room and the door opened, revealing Reno, Roxas, Sora, Riku, and Sephiroth. Sora was positively beaming stalked to the bed and held out an envelope.

"Sora, I think he needs to rest and…" Roxas began but was interrupted.

"I know," Sora scoffs, "but he should at least be given it so he has something more than Cloud to look forward to." He continued and Cloud's face was beat red and the others snickered at Sora's statement.

"Alright, give it to him and since we know he's fine, we should then leave him to rest." Roxas said.

The week went by in a rapid pace. Roxas and Cloud did not have to worry about their costumes because Sora had already decided. He had taken their measurements and then kept everything else hidden. Roxas had asked so he would be able to tell Axel because he wanted to wear something that would match Roxas' costume. But Sora said he had already prepared Axel's, Riku's, and Leon's costumes so they would be coordinated. The day of their birthday had arrived and without them knowing it was time to dress for the party. Sora had made the decorations and put them up in the house. He dragged Cloud and Roxas into their own rooms where their costumes were lying on the beds. It only went a second when two voices were heard:

"SORA, WHY IS THERE A DRESS ON MY BED?!"

"Because we're going as Ashputtel, though the dresses weren't described so I used Sapsorrow's instead. Though I tweaked the actual design of the dress." Sora stated calmly and went into his own room to put on his own dress.

When Sora had just finished dressing, the door opened and a blushing Cloud and Roxas stepped inside. Cloud was wearing an ankle-length dress in dark blue sparkling with silver like the stars in the sky. Roxas was also wearing an ankle-length dress, but his was in the palest silk in the colour of the moon. They both wore slippers reflecting their dresses. Sora himself wore a dress as gold as the sun with matching golden slippers. Sora looked exited as he studied his brothers. The fact that all three looked very beautiful in their dresses, and feminine, only strengthened their androgynous features. The sparkling silver on Cloud's dress matched his eyes, the pale moon colour on Roxas' mixed well with his beautiful skin, and the golden colour on Sora's went perfect with his chocolate coloured hair.

To say that Roxas and Cloud weren't very nervous when the guests were about to arrive would be an understatement. Cloud was lucky because he could always disappear, but Roxas had to stay and "socialize" with the guests. The doorbell rang and Cloud went to let them in. Sora's friends from Destiny Islands stared dumbfounded at Cloud's getup.

"Sora." Was all Cloud said and it actually explained a lot.

Riku and Axel came together with Leon and Reno. Leon had gotten permission to leave the hospital and attend the party if he was carful and did nothing too strenuous. Riku, Axel and Leon all wore clothes that were fit for princes, they were matching to dresses the Strife brothers wore. Reno was dressed as Little Red-cap, though he had only put on a red cap over his normal clothes. Sora jumped at Riku when he came in, and although Riku was used to Sora's insane ideas, he was still floored by the dress, and became very possessive of Sora. When Leon saw Cloud at the door he merely raised an eyebrow and looked him over appreciating view, causing Cloud's already embarrassed face to redden more. Axel was the more vocal of the three in his appreciation of his spouse's dress.

"Wow, Roxy, if the evil queen would ask the mirror who is fairest of them all, you would be the fairest in the entire galaxy." He said whistling and taking in every inch of Roxas' very being.

Roxas wanted to hit him… and kiss him for the insult/compliment. It was an insult to his "manliness" and a compliment because Axel thought him the most beautiful, and did that not stroke his ego a fair bit.

After everyone arrived Sora held the games, and there was talking, laughing, singing, and whatnot. Cloud had brought Leon upstairs so he could rest from all the chaos downstairs as his injuries were beginning to ache.

"Do you need anything else?" Cloud asked worriedly after bringing something to drink and a little to eat.

"I'm alright, thank you though." Leon said and smiled softly looking at Cloud causing him to blush.

"I-it was nothing." He pointedly avoided his eyes.

"Still, I appreciate it, Cloud." Leon said softly moving closer. "I'm sorry for not arriving for the dinner that day."

"Wha- it was long ago, and you did have a good excuse." Cloud chuckled albeit a bit shakily.

"I know, but I wanted to spend more time with you." He caressed Cloud's cheek, invading his personal space, "I want to learn more about you." He trailed his fingers down Cloud's neck to his bare shoulders and then further down his silk covered chest down to his waist. Cloud felt a tingling where Leon's touch had been. "Because, I like you more than should be possible in such a short time."

"Leon…"

Leon pulled Cloud into his arms and covered his lips with his own in a sweet kiss. Cloud's eyes widened in surprise before slowly closing. He twined his arms around Leon's neck stepping a bit closer. Leon nipped his lips and then swiped his tongue over them eliciting a gasp from Cloud causing him to part them letting Leon in. Leon pressed Cloud backwards and up against the wall while still kissing him, moving his tongue against Cloud's. Cloud unconsciously spread his legs wider to get Leon as close as possible. They parted for air and Cloud inhaled deeply. Leon began kissing and nipping at his neck.

"Y, you were, hah… suppose, hm, to rest, ah!" Cloud panted out in the onslaught of pleasure.

Leon's response was to lift Cloud of the ground and wind his legs around his waist. The dress was pooling at Cloud's waist and Leon appreciated the smooth and bare legs he now had access to. The pain from his injuries went completely forgotten and Leon moved them from the wall and walked over to the bed where he laid them down carefully. With renewed vigour Leon kissed him again and trailed his hands up and down Cloud's thighs. Cloud was lost in the pleasure of Leon's touch completely forgetting the party, which was still going downstairs. Leon grounded his hips into Cloud's and groaned as Cloud's moans grew louder. He thrust his hips against Cloud in a powerful and steady rhythm while kissing his neck again. They were interrupted by a loud crash from downstairs and stilled. Cloud's mind cleared and he blushed in mortification as he felt his own length press against Leon's. They were both breathing deeply and Cloud was almost keening at the need of friction.

"This wasn't," Leon puffed out between inhales, " really what I had in mind when I asked for a place to rest. Can't say that I mind though." He smiled pressing feathery light kisses at the neck he had in front of him and began thrusting shallowly against Cloud.

"Me neither." Cloud breathed out and bucked his hips.

"Should I stop?" Leon asked and bit down on his shoulder.

Cloud muffled a loud moan and was about to breathe out a "no" when Reno's voice came from downstairs calling for them. Leon stopped and sighed resting against Cloud's shoulder. Cloud brought up his arms, from where they had clenched at Leon's vest, to his face and breathed a sigh of relief and disappointment. They took a moment to calm down and correct their costumes again before they called to Reno.

Roxas was actually having fun and for once he had his own friends. Some had been surprised when Seifer came but when they saw Hayner in tow the surprise wore off. Sora was happily organizing the games and "tournaments", but it was when Demyx asked what the prize was that Sora remembered that he had forgotten about it.

"Roxas!" Sora came running, his skirts billowing around him. "I forgot the prize, what should we do?" He looked almost heartbroken.

"I'll go and buy something from the store." Roxas sighed and Sora frowned.

"Are you sure you should go?" He asked with an uneasy expression.

"I'll take Axel with me so I'm safe, alright?"

"Okay, but…" Sora was interrupted by Wakka and had to leave.

"So I will escort my lovely princess to the store?" Axel butted in with a smirk.

"Yes, now let's go."

They decided to skip the coats, though Roxas put on a scarf that covered his shoulders. The air was cold and the sky dark as they walked down the road toward the grocery store down the corner. They decided to buy some different sweets as prize because it was easier than trying to find something else, though they kept to sweets that had relation to the Grimm fairy tales. Sweets looking like apples, flowers, different animals and the like. As they began heading back, the snow started to fall softly. Roxas stopped and gazed up at the sky, Axel following suit. Roxas was about to say something when he felt a blow to his head, knocking him out. The bag of sweets fell to the ground scattering. Axel turned around and was hit across the cheek, but he did not fall. He grabbed hold of the assailant's arm and twisted it hard. The man he was holding gave a short scream and got down on his knees. Axel had not counted on a second assailant and was struck at the back of his head and fell to the ground. The two men grabbed Roxas and moved across the street.

"Roxas…" Axel's vision was fading, he could only watch as Roxas was carried away.
