Ch. 6 The New Girl

A new day was dawning as Sora and Rai were hanging out on top of the roof of the Training room. Sora was now wearing his new long black sleeved orange vest and black pant. He's taken a liking to his new attire that his master bestowed to him. Both the black panther and hawk was enjoying the breeze of the wind that flowed through their fur.

Rai let out a blissful sigh as he looked at the clouded blue sky. Rai then said, "Man today looks like a good day to fly. I totally could go for a good flight right now."

Sora turned his head towards his avian friend and said, "Go for it, I'll be here when you get back." Rai shook his head and replied, "Nah man, I'm hangin with you. Besides, there's no point in flying when you don't have a friend to fly with."

"Alright then." Said Sora who had a smile plastered on his face. During that time, they continued sitting at the on top the roof staring at the sky until... Sora overheard the entrance door open up. Rai and Sora detached they're eyes from the heavens and stared down at the door.

There, was a two individuals, both were leopardess. One was an adult with an olive fur tone with brown spots, wearing an all white Kung fu dress uniform and looks like she was in her late thirties or early forties and appears to have a youthful looks. The other female was a preteen clouded leopardess about their age wearing a black vest with the yin and yang symbol on the back, white arm warmers, and navy blue sweat pants. Her turquoise eyes were so bright and insightful Sora could see them from where he was. Sora couldn't help but stare at her beautiful appeal.

"No way, Master Leopardess." Rai said in awe. Sora turned towards his avian hawk friend and asked, "What's the info on her?"

Rai turn his head to Sora and said, "Master Leopardess is a kung fu master who took part of an annual Kung Fu tournament. I wonder why she's here." Rai pondered.

"And who's the girl?" Sora questioned.

"Hmm, I don't know. I never seen her before, she must be new." Rai guessed. The two watched as the felines walked to and entered the Training Hall.

Training Hall: Inside

Inside the training hall both Sora and Rai walked in and saw Master Shifu and Tigress within a conversation with Master Leopardess and It seen the girl kept seemed to noticed Sora and Rai's arrival.

"Master Leopard perhaps we should converse elsewhere." Shifu suggested. Leopardess agreed with his suggestion then took a quick glance at the girl. "Stay here," said Leopardess then went off with Shifu and Master Tigress. The young leopardess silently agreed with the master and stayed where she was. She then turned towards the panther and hawk and began to walk towards them.

"Excuse me, is either one of you happen to be named Sora?" She asked in a polite tone. Sora blinked a few times and simply raised his hand and said, "Yeah that's me."

The girl smiled and held out hand and Sora accepted the handshake. "Hello Sora, my name is Lilly, I'll be your training partner for now on." Sora confusingly tilted his head of what leopardess replied.

Jade Palace: Hall of Heroes

"I understand, so she'll be here be training here for now and you want Tigress to train her." Shifu restated.

"Yes. As I said before, I can't help the girl because I'm far too busy at the Bai Academy to help her and it is full. I'd hopped that you and your students could take her off my hands." Master Leopardess explained. Master Shifu and Tigress exchanged looks and Tigress nodded.

"Okay, I'll allow her to stay. Does she have any experience in Kung Fu?" He questioned. "Yes, she's does have some experience. As for what she tells me she's a beginner, but she seems quite skilled. I've witness what she can do and I was impressed. Said that she just came from a certain academy" Master Leopard ended.

"What Kung Fu academy did she come and learned this from?" Tigress questioned in a respectful manner. Master Leopardess reached for her bag and revealed a red fusion weaponry that bears a resemblance of a high impact sniper crossbow. Then with a flick of a switch, the weapon changed and altered into appearance of a red and black scythe. Master Leopardess then carefully handed the scythe to Tigress.

"Why don't you ask her yourself, Master Tigress. She is your student now after all." Tigress grasped the weapon and thought to herself 'It has some weight to it, maybe because it can change' "I will ask her."

"Lets go back to the Training Hall to the others." Master Shifu suggested leading them back the training room.

Jade Palace: Inside

Back in the training room, Lilly was talking with Sora and Rai and got the chance to meet Meili and became friends quickly. Soon as expected the three masters returned to the room and approached the three preteens.

With scythe in hand, Tigress held the weapon up and began to ask but was interjected by Master Shifu raising his hand up stopping her.

"All questions will be answered. First, lets all head to the kitchen so we can all talk about anything and everything. Lets go." Shifu implied. Everyone then moved to the kitchen and sat down while Master Leopardess leaned against the corner with arms crossed.

'She's so cool!' Rai thought in his mind glancing at her every chance he got. Meili was thinking the same, minus the starring part. Lilly timidly rested her paws on her lap, awaiting any questions that was coming her way. Po then laid a plate full of his famous dumplings in front of her.

"Just something that will help you relax your nerves. I made sweet dumplings for you." Po said nicely. Lilly picked one up and inserted it in her mouth. Adoring the taste, pitched some more into her mouth, loving the taste.

"Lilly Qiang, tell, where did you learn what you know about kung fu?" Master Shifu simply asked the girl.

"Jiàntóu Academy." She answered stuffing her face with another dumpling. "They allowed a young girl such as yourself train under and wield a weapon such as this." Shifu asked again, signaling Tigress to hold up the weapon.

"One in particular sir." She answered finishing off the dumpling that was in her mouth. "I see. It's just that it's been a long time since I've seen another with such a unique weapon at your age. One that was just about your age long ago. A long tooth clouded leopard. Sadly I'm afraid his name escapes me." Shifu described stroking his beard.

With food in her mouth she tried to reply, but what came out was just mumble. Shifu found that slightly irritating and not amusing. Lilly embarrassing chuckled and swallowed the food and said, "Sorry".

"Anyway yep that sound like him, that's my uncle Fang. He's a trainer at Jiàntóu. I was complete trash before he took in as his student, I guess you could say I had a little special treatment since I was related to him, he use to help me off academy grounds. He also gave me the equipment of making that scythe as a present. Now I'm awesomeness with weapons." She explained.

"That's so cool. I never heard of this school before but it totally sounds like a place I drive my dad or Shifu nuts over to go to." Po expressed.

"Wait, you do that on purpose. Brother, you won't last long if Shifu totally snaps at you one day." Mantis commented.

"Just like the time he literally kicked you out of the palace and you were tumbling down the steps." Monkey added, the two then started laughing. It took Viper to hiss at them to stop messing with Po.

"I've notice." Shifu then turn back to the clouded leopardess. " So, you want to stay here at the Jade Palace do you?" Shifu inquired.

"Yes sir, I always wanted to train here most. Which is why I worked so hard to get anywhere." She answered.

"Well, okay. I accept your request." Said Shifu with approving small smile. Hearing that she was allowed to stay, Lilly wanted to jump out of her chair and scream. But didn't, keeping her composer so she won't mess anything up.

"Wants going on?" Stern voice questioned. Everyone turned to the entrance and spotted Shun. "Shun, we have a new addition to the palace. Meet Lilly Qiang." Shifu introduced.

Shun took one look at her, and a huge scowl let up on his face. "She's staying here! No, hell no!" Shun exclaimed.

"Hello Shun, nice seeing you again." Lilly said sarcastically with a blank expression, but not like Shun who had an infuriated countenance.

"Look, I can tolerate the panther, but I will not stand to be under the same roof as her." Shun expressed in anger.

"What's the big deal, do you two know each other or something?" Po asked worriedly. "Yes, unfortunately. We went to separate schools, but we are part of rivaled academies. Both hated each other. I was part of Jiàntóu academy and he was part of Zhànshì academy. Every year we use to have tournaments and in the last match I faced off against him and..." Lilly began.

"And I lost." Shun ended. "We weren't allowed to use are "special abilities" so I was at a bad disadvantage as she was allowed to swing that infernal scythe to cover distance. After that, the academy both feared me, and hated me because I was the strongest and lost the final match to her." Said Shun angry tone.

"Heh, so you're not so tough after all." Sora mocked with a smile. "Shut it, I know full well I beat you loser." Shun affronted back. Lilly could sense that there was a bit of rivalry between the two, and was secretly relieved that she wasn't the only one Shun detested.

"That's enough you two." Shifu demanded. Sora and Shun then turned their heads away from each other.

"Fine, she can stay. But she better stay out of my way. Who knows what warm may happen later on." Shun ended leaving the room.

"Just ignoring him, he'll get over it." Sora commented. "it upsets me to say, we don't have many rooms in the barracks. Your going to have to share one with someone. I recommend Sora, since he will be your partner with Master Tigress as your teacher. I am right to assume that I can trust you both in the same room together?" Shifu questioned. Knowing that they were preteens, but he had to make sure.

"Hmm, I trust Sora." Lilly answered. Sora was clueless of what Shifu was talking about, agreed with Lilly's trust.

"Good, I'll have Po and Monkey bring in another bed for the room. You are all dismissed." Shifu announced, and everyone exited the room. As everyone was walking through the hall, it was Sora who was behind the group gang and Lilly was not too far behind him. So, in shy effort she quickly picked up the pace to walk beside him. Sora turned his head and saw her with a bashful smile.

"So, Shun doesn't like you very much either huh?" She began. "Well yeah, but only because he knows I'm way cooler than he is. The guy thinks he so cool with his impressive skills when he really isn't. I don't really like him either. There's something about him that really bugs me." Sora confessed.

"Hmm, well me and Shun also had our ups and downs too, you know the story." Lilly replied to keep the conversation going with Sora.

"So you and I are going to be partners huh, I'm sure we're going to make a great team," Sora said giving her the nice guy pose with a good-nurtured toothy grin. Lilly smiled as well with an agreeable warm grin.

"This day is over and done with. You wanna head back to the barracks?" Sora asked. "Yeah. Don't you try anything while we're in our room, okay Puma," Lilly mocked with a hidden allusive tone, slightly impersonating Shifu. Sora tilted his head in confusion once again. "What do you mean?" Sora questioned. Lilly chuckled at Sora's cluelessness and fully took in that he's harmless. Also, secretly took a liking to him.

"Never mind, come on Puma we have a big day ahead of us tomorrow." She said grabbing his hand, directing him to the barracks with Sora stating that his name wasn't Puma and he was a panther along the way.
