Well, I uploaded as fast as I could! Hope you like it! :D
Sorry that it's a bit short, but I just uploaded a super long chapter for Life Continues.
Chapter 8
The rest of the morning continues as normal, and everybody gets along well. Tony and Ziva returned with good news for them, bad news for the brother. One of the brother's friends was in charge of the murder. Long story short, the brother's friend ended up guilty because of insanity. The team is released for lunch.
McGee swaps over to Clarissa's desk. "Hey, I'm going to go talk to Abby if that's alright. I know we were going go out to lunch, but I thought maybe you'd like to get an answer first."
"No." Clarissa says. "That's totally fine. Because then Mom won't have to wait for an answer after I tell her about," Clarissa goes down to a whisper "the two of you."
"Ok." McGee nods and heads down by Abby. "Knock knock." McGee says entering.
"Hey, you." She says watching him enter.
"Mind if I hang out with you for lunch?"
"Oh I don't mind, but you didn't bring a lunch."
"I'll go run to the burger joint quick and come back. I need to speak with you anyways." McGee smiles.
"OK." Abby smiles. "Hurry while I finish this up." She turns back around and works.
"Hey." McGee says. Abby turns around, and McGee surprises her with a kiss.
"McGee, we're at work."
"I'm sorry." McGee can't stop smiling. "I can't get you out of mind ever since we said 'I love you'. It's like high school all over again." McGee chuckles. "I'm excited for this next week or so. Hopefully Gibbs does not keep me here late."
"I will talk to him for you. Sound good?"
"Yeah, but I don't want him to know."
"Don't worry, I got it." Abby chuckles. "Now go get your food!"
Not even 15 minutes later, McGee returns to Abby's lab. "I'm back!" He says entering. "Miss me?"
"Always." Abby chuckles. "Come on." Abby grabs her lunch out of the fridge and leads McGee to the far back room. They walk in, and Abby has a red blanket set on the floor, along with candles set in the middle. "Happy six months." Abby smiles.
McGee smiles. "We already celebrated."
"Yes but." Abby shuts the door behind them. "I wanted to do something old school." Abby chuckles.
"Yeah, I've got to admit. This does make me feel like a teenager again." McGee chuckles. "Let's eat." They sit on the ground, and open their bags. "What did you bring today?" McGee asks.
"The usual." Abby smiles. "You?"
"Just a number 4." McGee smiles back. "This next week is going to be crazy."
"Yes!" Abby says. "But I'm excited! How are we going to tell the rest of them?"
"Well, I kind of had to tell Clarissa already, but she's bound not to tell anybody." McGee takes a bit of his sandwich. "Well," He says swallowing his food. "I was thinking maybe invite them over. Just give them a card, make it anonymous, and put our address."
"That's a good idea! But they'll soon figure it out when we don't have one."
"Ah, I'm already ahead of you. That's why we give ourselves one. And of course Clarissa one as well."
Abby takes a sip of her drink. "So why did you have to tell Clarissa?"
"That's why I wanted to speak with you." McGee eats a few fries. "See, Clarissa was wondering if I could slowly step back into her and her mom's lives. Like, once and awhile go for dinner. Now, I'm not going to do it if I don't have your approval. I was thinking just once every two weeks for a while, and then go once a week if possible." McGee pauses. "But, I was kind of wondering if you wanted to tag along. Wait no; that might hurt her. But Clarissa said she'll talk to her."
"What?" Abby chuckles.
"Clarissa's mom wants me to go over for din-"
"No." Abby cuts him off. "I get that part. I'm just a little lost at the end." Abby continues to smile.
"Well, I wanted you to come too, so you didn't feel left out. But her mom feels that there is still a spot in her heart for me, and if I brought you, it might hurt her. I don't want to do that."
"Timmy, you do not need me to come. I will not feel left out." Abby wipes away her smile. "But I'm a little worried if she still has feelings for you."
"Abby." McGee smiles and grabs her hand. "Nothing is going to come between you and I. I love you, and only you." McGee hesitates. "I am not going to let there be any chance between her and I. If she starts flirting, you any such business, I will walk away, and most likely leave. Clarissa is going to talk with her tonight and tell her, so she will know. It's not like she's in love with me or anything. She just wants that spot filled, and she believes it's me that belongs there."
"McGee?"
"Yea?"
"Have you thought about her at all in our relationship? Like not just our dating stage, but those few months before we dated?"
McGee takes his hand away and places it on his heart. He brings up his other hand. "I, Timothy McGee have not thought about any other girl than Abigail Scuito within the last ten months. Scouts Honor." He smiles at her.
"I love you." Abby hugs him. "OK, we need to finish lunch.
McGee looks at his phone. "Uh, yeah. We do." He chuckles.
