Los Angeles

Fritz was pacing back and forth. He knew he was supposed to wait in LA, but he couldn't stomach the idea that Brenda was all alone, who knows where, a dangerous group of criminals was hiding out in Seattle, and there could be a leak in the FBI that would thwart his attempts to protect her. He needed to find his wife and make sure she was okay.

He, however, didn't want to give away her position. He switched his ID with a good friend from the bureau and flew out to DC.

Seattle

Potovksy's men were waiting in the parking lot, where the hit crew was supposed to arrive, but nobody showed. They called Potovsky, who was mad as hell. He sent word to the plane company's CEO, and he let his anger be known.

Texas

The man's hands rattled as he hung up the phone. He knew this was very bad. His team never failed him before, but somehow, they failed to deliver the crew to Seattle. He tried calling his team members, but he couldn't get any of them to answer. What if they were dead? Oh well. This is why he gets paid 100% beforehand.

He called Opal, demanding to know what happened to the flight.

"Calm down." She checked her log. "It landed as scheduled."

"But they never arrived to Seattle."

"I did my job. Now you do yours." She hung up, not in the mood to deal with this crap.

Los Angeles

Agent Howard left Tao in charge of listening to the wires while he was away. He heard the phone call between the CEO and Opal. "Something derailed them," Tao said aloud.

"What Lieutenant?" Buzz had been dozing off.

"Potovsky's crew flew from Texas to Portland, but they didn't arrive in Seattle as they planned."

"What happened to them?"

"No idea. Let's try Portland PD." Tao made some phone calls, but there was nothing telling; no accidents, reported gunfire, that could explain what happened to the missing men. Tao tried the commercial airports, but there was no signs of them. "They must have flown privately," Tao concluded. "Much harder to trace."

Meanwhile, Pope was in his office. Trying to pretend everything was normal, but it was impossible to do so without the difficult blonde. Who was going to argue with him, blatantly ignore his orders, get into it with almost everybody, and somehow look adorable in those ugly as hell sweater+skirt sets that she bought on discount from JC Penney? Pope sighed.

He told Major Crimes to stay out of it, but he suspected they wouldn't listen. He peeked into their office and saw Provenza chatting with an ATF agent.

"We're still working on the robbery, Chief." Provenza told him. "So far, we know that they hired a man to assist them and then they killed him and set his car on fire. We believe they hired a second go-between to do the killing, and ATF is working with the FBI to try and track him down. Unfortunately, he's probably dead already."

Pope looked around. "Where's Tao?"

"He's sick," Flynn lied. "Sounded horrible on the phone."

"Well, alright then." Pope had no evidence they were ignoring orders, so he went back to his office, pushing his suspicions to the back of his mind.

Tao came out after Pope left. He announced his findings to the squad. "We know that a group of men were supposed to fly from Texas to Portland and then get to Seattle, but they never arrived at their destination."

"Who are they and where did they go?" Provenza looked up.

"I have no idea, but I think they either took the money and ran or someone got to them first."

"Someone like." Why is he always so cryptic, Provenza pondered.

"Someone like an agency that I will not name."

"You think the company did this?" Flynn wasn't surprised, now that he thought about it

"How often do people vanish off of airplanes without a trace?"

"Well, what do we do now?"

Washington, DC

Fritz arrived and managed to find Elaine.

"I need your help. I have no idea where Brenda is and Potovsky's getting ready to make his move."

"Well, it's good that she's hiding."

"What if he finds her first?"

"It's safer if she's stays put."

"For how long. Eventually, she'll run out of food or water or something. If she has to leave her hiding place, who knows if he'll be waiting for her."

Elaine sighed. She knew she should keep her mouth shut, but she also recognized the look in Fritz's eyes. He wasn't going to give up until he had is wife back. She wrote out the coordinates for him. "Be very careful. No cell phone. Don't bring your own car. Don't fly in anywhere near this place."

He nodded, and he was off. He flew to Utah and then bought a car using cash. He drove out for Nevada.

The drive was long and lonesome. He packed plenty of water to avoid having to stop, unless it was for gas. He parked his car in a garage about 10 miles out. He was careful to make sure no one followed him, but he wanted to be double sure.

He walked after the sunset. Fewer people and it was much cooler. He arrived at the house, and assumed that there was some type of alarm or trap. He peered in through the window, and started to pick the lock.

Brenda could hear scratching upstairs. She swiftly made her way up the staircase pulled out her gun. She was ready to fire, but she was surprised to see just one man and not an entire posse. She tucked the gun back in its holster and hid behind the door. It opened and a man walked in. The book fell making a thud. It was just enough to startle him, and she swept his legs out from under his feet. She jumped on him, but before she could hit him, she heard a familiar grunt.

"Fritzi!" She looked in his eyes. It was her one and only. "You found me." She grabbed him and gave him a big kiss. His hands found her lower back, and he pulled her closer. "What are you doing here?" she asked, finally breaking the kiss.

"We need to move. Potovsky's in Seattle and he's assembling some type of hit squad." Fritz followed Brenda as she quietly loaded up her moped.

"You rode that here?"

"Yeah. How did you get here?"

"I walked 10 miles."

Brenda giggled. "Well, this will be much easier." They rode out to the car Fritz had purchased and took off. They drove to Idaho and rented a motel room. They were close enough to drive to Seattle if they needed to, but far enough away from the impending firefight.

It was the first night in a long while that they shared the same bed. As soon as they hit the sheets, Brenda fell asleep. Fritz slipped his arm around her, and she gripped his hand tightly. She didn't want to ever have to let him go again.

Seattle

Caitlin texted Griffin her plan. He said that he could handle his part easy. He sent along instructions to Elaine and to Lieutenant Tao. Jack made a phone call to Fritz. All of the dominos were being put into position.

Los Angeles

Opal and her two cohorts each got instructions to met in Los Angeles to settle their client's problem. They each flew in and met at the hotel, expecting a representative of Potovsky to be there. They were quite surprised when LAPD arrived and put them all into custody. Flynn and Provenza did not say a word to them. Instead, they drove back to the station and put them each in separate interview rooms, and left them to stew for a while.

Commander Taylor stopped by, asking why they had been taken into custody.

"Well, these three all conspired to aid a Russian bombmaker who snuck into the United States to exact revenge on current and former federal agents. Guy in interview room 1- he smuggled these bastards into the country and flew them around in his private planes. Guy in room 2- he's been hiding them in his hotels- lady in room 3, she has been forging documents saying these flights were for diplomatic purposes, so they wouldn't be searched.

"What evidence do you have on them?"

"One of the employees for the plane company rolled. He said what trips he had made for them. What trips he was going to make for them. Where they hid their contraband before shipment and told all about the government bribes. He also confirmed that they flew in the perps that committed the robbery of the gun store two weeks ago."

The three all lawyered up, as expected. Not that it made any difference. As they waited, police were searching the plane company's office building, the mogul's corporate headquarter's, Opal's house. All of their money got seized, their cars were searched, their whole lives being taken apart piece by piece.

It wouldn't be long before the cases against them were ironclad.

Of course, Tom Blanchard came to represent Opal. "My client is totally innocent."

Idaho

Fritz was on the phone with Jack. The plan was to mislead Potovsky into thinking that Brenda and her team were meeting up in a warehouse. When he went to blow it up, he would be ambushed. "Just drive to Seattle. Griffin will take care of the rest."

They got in the car and began to drive. Soon, this would all be over.
