Chapter 13 Frilly Dresses and Sonny Makes Messes

"Chad! What do you think about this one?" I asked, coming out of the changing room and twirling the red strapless dress I was trying on in front of my new boyfriend.

To be honest it wasn't my style. But then again, neither was wearing a dress in the first place. Tawni should have been very proud of me right then. I mean, I was shopping without throwing up, and wearing a dress all in one day! As you all know, that was quite an accomplishment for me.

"I love it," Chad answered, voice monotone and face bored as hell.

I sighed. Shoulders sagging I a very un-ladylike way. But I didn't really care. Last time I checked I wasn't a so called "lady" anyway.

"Chad, please try to be cooperative," I said, sitting down beside him on the couch he had claimed as his own as soon as we had walked in this store.

His face lightened a little. "I'm sorry, Sonny...I'm trying to be, but this is the 29484708th dress you've tried on today! I think I've lost my patience...and my mind," he replied with a chuckle. "They're beginning to all look the same to me."

I rolled my eyes, pecking his lips. "Whatever. Its not like I go shopping all the time like someone I know," I said, referring to Tawni. "I don't know exactly what to get... I just know the color it's supposed to be. So I'll just get this one." I walked back into the dressing room to change out of the dress.

Tawni might have picked out something a little shorter and lower in the chest...but I certainly wasn't going to show up to my mother's wedding looking like a slut or something.

After we'd purchased the dress, along with some black heels (I thought Tawni would approve), Chad asked me if I was hungry, to which I replied with: "When am I not?"

We both chuckled, then he took my hand and led the way to the food court. Stopping in front of a Chick-Fil-A, we ordered and Chad pulled out his wallet. I started to take mine out too, but Chad stopped me.

"Think of this as our first date," he whispered in my ear, winking.

I rolled my eyes, but obediently put my black studded wallet back in my pocket.

I wasn't one to give up on an argument very easily, so that was sort of bog for me.

When our food was ready, we grabbed it and went to find a seat.

"So does your mom seem happy?" Chad asked, taking a sip of his diet coke.

I shrugged. "I guess so...but I don't know if I like Tom."

"What's wrong with him?" Chad asked, frowning a bit.

I sighed. "He's...not really mom's type. And I don't know if I'm ready to have a new dad. What if he turns out to be a douche like my real dad?"

Chad nodded understandingly. "I get ya. I felt the same way when my mom married fanny pack Dan."

"Yeah, but Dan is...nothing like Tom. Tom is much taller and less...geeky than Dan...to be totally honest I'm a little scared of him," I confessed.

"It'll be fine, Sonny. If you need me just call me, kay?" He reached across the table and rested his hand on top of mine.

I nodded, still not totally convinced that everything would be okay...

.*.

"DAMNIT!" my mother cursed loudly from her room.

I sighed, running in. "What happened?" I asked, expecting something or someone to be lying unconscious on the floor.

But instead, I watched as she struggled with her hair.

"This isn't working! Can you help me please Sonny?" she begged, close to tears.

I looked around, then pointed to myself. I didn't know two shits about fixing hair! Where was Tawni when I actually needed her?!

Suddenly, the door behind me burst open, and I turned around on curiosity.

Speak of the devil, there stood the one and only Tawni Hart. She had a curling iron and a straightener in each hand, and stood there like she was on a mission.

"Somebody needs help! SUPERWOMAN IS HERE!" she announced.

Yes, that was a One Direction reference. Scream all you want wilst I gag.

"Tawni! We don't have time for that crap! Get over here!" my mom shouted.

Tawni sighed and ran over as best she could in her five inch heels and began to curl my mom's hair. I just awkwardly stood there and tried blending in with the beige wall.

"Oh, hey Sonny. Wanna help?" Tawni said, finally acknowledging my presence.

I scoffed. "Do I look like I want to help?"

She rolled her eyes and turned back to my mom's hair.

"You could at least hold the straightener while I use the curling iron," she said, taking a section of hair and brushing it out.

I stepped forward. "That I can do."

I took the straightener, but screamed as I clasped the hot end. Dropping it, I clutched my burning hand.

"WHAT THE HELL SONNY!" Tawni screamed, hopping up and down.

I had dropped the hot iron on Tawni's foot.

Before I knew it, I was being kicked-literaly-out of the room, not allowed to come in again while Tawni was in there.

I was just a clumsy mess today.

I heaved a sigh, leaning against the wall. I decided to call Chad since he had told me to if there was anything wrong.

And there sure as hell was. I wasn't even allowed to help my own mother get ready for her wedding anymore!

"Hello?" Chad's voice sounded through the phone.

"Hi," I huffed, crossing my arms.

"Okay, what happened?" he demanded.

I sighed, then reiterated the event to him-not leaving out the detail that Tawni had booted me out into the hall by myself.

But instead of comforting me, Chad began to laugh.

"Wha-Chad! Stop!"

"S-sorry...I just would think you would know how to hold a straightener. I even know how to do that," he chuckled.

I groaned. "Great, now you're making fun of me."

He sighed. "I'm sorry Sonny," he said.

"Your an asshole," I muttered under my breath.

"Brat."

"Stupid."

"Bitch."

"I am not a bitch!" I gasped.

"I'm just kidding, Sonny," he laughed. "I love you."

I smiled, despite myself. "I love you too, Chad Dylan Cooper."

"Good," he said.

"Good."

"Fine."

"Fine."

I laughed a little, then sighed.

"I have to get ready for the wedding, Chad," I said, running a hand through my hair. "You should probably too. Don't want to be late." I raised my eyebrows up and down even though I knew he couldn't see me.

He chuckled. "Can't wait to see you," he told me.

I smiled cheesily. "I can't wait to see you either, Chad!" I squealed sweetly, hanging up.

Now I had to prepare myself mentally for some more torture.

So tell me what you like/dont like about this chapter...and i know its sort of ahort but i had to end it there or i qould get writers block AGAIN.

And, yes this IS rated T now for language, and if you dont like that, tell me and i might remove it because im a nice person...well sometime ;)
