Dear Mum and Dad,
It's hard to believe that my first year is ending. I passed almost all of my exams - I think they felt bad for me, but that's alright - and I'm going home in a couple days. I'll come and visit you as soon as I'm back.
I got points for our house - my very first! Professor Dumbledore himself gave them to me. He called me brave, too. I thought it was a joke at first, but we won the cup with my points so I guess it was real. I was pretty surprised, but it was very exciting. It's been a good year, and I'm excited for next year. Even if I'm not as brave as Harry and his friends, maybe I can learn to be better and be a good Gryffindor. One day, I want to be just like you guys. I know Gran says I'm not very bright, but maybe if I work really hard I can make you proud.
Love,
Neville
