Chapter Twenty-Four
Epilogue
Disclaimer: I do not own Sailor Moon.
Serena's eyes popped open. She was sitting at a table in her house back in Tokyo. Her mother Irene was standing at the stove baking a pie and cooking curry. She looked older with grey streaks in her blunette hair. Her father was sitting across the table sipping coffee with his head behind a newspaper. Serena looked at the date and saw that it was two thousand years in the future.
"Mommy!" Serena felt a tiny hand tugging at her skirt. It was a little girl with strawberry blonde hair and dark blue eyes that looked familiar. The girl looked about twelve hundred-years-old.
The girl cried looking at her, "Mommy, Rini hit me again."
A teenager girl that looked exactly like her at sixteen hundred-years-old with strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes said, "Mom, Katie is so annoying. I was talking to Greg on the phone and she was interrupting my conversation."
The girl stuck her tongue out and said, "It's not my fault that you suck with guys, Rini."
The teenager said angrily, "He's not my boyfriend, you brat. He's Sarah's boyfriend. You don't know anything reject."
Serena asked confused, "Sarah? Greg?"
Katie said looking confused, "Yeah, mom. Sarah is Lita and Ken's daughter and Ami and Greg are Greg's parents."
Serena looked confused then said pointing to you, "And you are my daughters?"
They looked at her like she was crazy.
Katie said upset, "I'm telling daddy. I can't wait until daddy and Derek get back from their trip."
Rini said mischievously, "Yeah, if Dad doesn't kill Derek first." Serena wondered who their father was. Who was Derek? Was she married? Why would their father want to kill this Derek?
Serena stood up feeling a little woozy. Katie asked worried, "Are you okay, mommy?" Serena smiled down at the little girl.
She saw everyone staring at her with worried expressions. She smiled and said, "I am fine. I just need to rest for a little while." Her eyes landed on her mother, whose worried expression turned into a warm smile.
Irene said, "Of course, baby. Your room is just like you left it."
Serena stared at her mother and father feeling emotional seeing them again. She rushed to her parents and embraced them in a long hug. They looked confused at one another then wrapped their arms around her.
Serena choked out as tears filled her eyes, "I loved you guys. I missed you so much."
Ken chuckled, "Sweetie, you just saw us last week, but we love you too."
They broke away from her. Irena said softly wiping the tears from Serena's eyes, "Baby, go rest. You look exhausted."
Serena nodded as she slowly walked away. She slowly studied the house along the way to her bedroom. It was exactly like the way it was when she left it.
Serena slowly walked into her bedroom. She quickly closed the door and exhaled. She did not know what was going on. What was real and what was not? Her parents were dead and now they were alive. Now, she had children that she never even remembered having. Where were Sammy and her friends?
She looked around and saw her room was exactly the same way she left it even to the stuffed animals on the bed and the pink sheets with the moon and stars on them. A flashback of the moment Luna first spoke to her and told her about her destiny popped into her head.
Serena slowly walked towards her vanity mirror. She looked at herself and saw that she looked like a beautiful woman in her early thirties. She was dressed as Neo Queen Serenity.
"You are really freaking out."
She abruptly turned around and saw Charisma standing in front of her dressed in a black gown with angel sleeves.
Serena asked confused, "Charisma?"
Charisma curtsied and said, "Your majesty."
Serena asked, "Why are you calling me, your majesty?"
Charisma gave her an amused look.
Charisma laughed softly and said with a smile, "Because you are queen at least in this timeline before Elena altered it."
Serena asked confused, "What do you mean?"
Charisma said, "Serena, there are different versions of ourselves in different timelines based on one small moment that changes everything. In this reality, Elena never entered your life, your parents never got into a car accident, and you met Darien and Mina. You met Darien when you threw your test paper at his head and you met Mina when she saved you and the Zoicite's trap."
Serena asked, "So this is how my life would have been if Elena never came into it, at least as Usagi Tuskino?" Charisma nodded.
Serena asked confused rubbing her temple, "But I don't remember any of that."
Charisma said, "You will. When you entered a different version of yourself, there is sometimes a time delay before your memories of this version of yourself catches up with you."
Serena asked, "Why are we unaffected?"
Charisma smiled, "Because you are the holder of the imperium silver crystal, while I am a seer who knows and sees everything."
Serena asked quickly, "What happened to everyone? Where's Sammy, the girls and Darien? Is Eric alive? What about his family? What about Ami? Does she still hate me? Are Greg and her mother alive? Mason and the others? And what about Charisma, I mean Eric's version of you?"
Charisma smiled. She said, "In this reality, they are all alive and living happy, normal lives including my granddaughter and great granddaughter."
Serena asked, "And what about Astraios and Elena?"
Charisma said with a smile, "Queen Selenity figured out that King Astraios and Princess Elena were once lovers. She suspected it when she saw the way King Astraios looked at her sister when he thought she was not looking. Her suspicions were confirmed when the king became grief-stricken after Elena's disappearance and started to slowly isolated himself. What your mother never told you is that she found out that Elena was alive when you and Mina were still little girls. Elena occasionally returned to the moon and would secretly check up on you and Mina. She loved watching you two grow throughout the years, but her heart was slowly growing cold from her cruel twist of fate. Only seven years later would Elena shut off humanity and become a mercenary for the Dark Moon Family. However, her fate changed before she turned evil in this reality. On her last visit to the moon when you and Mina were preteens, she was staying with me. We actually became good friends over the years. The queen's guards bombarded my home one night. They took Elena to the castle by the order of the queen. There Selenity did something that changed you and Mina's lives forever."
Serena listen intently as Charisma continued. "She allowed Elena and Astraios to be together. They had to give up their titles, powers, and immortality and were exiled from the moon. The queen later told you and Mina that your father had went on a mission and died in battle. "
Tears filled Serena's eyes as she listened to Charisma. "They were sent to Earth and lived a long, happy life. They died old and gray as great grandparents. They had five children that gave them many grandchildren and a couple of great grandchildren. One of their great grandchildren had a son that he named Zephyrus after the son that Elena and Astraios had lost on the moon. Zephyrus' lineage went through the centuries until his seven-times-great-granddaughter Minako Aino was born."
Serena smiled. Serena asked stunned, "Are you telling me that that one moment altered my entire future?"
Charisma nodded. "Your future was based on whether Queen Selenity allowed Astraios and Elena to be together. In the other reality, she did not and in this version, she did."
Serena jumped when she heard a knock on the door. "Mom, it's time to go home." It was Rini.
Serena started to panic as Charisma started at her amusingly.
Serena panicked, "What to do?"
Serena could see the amusement in Charisma's eyes. Charisma said, "You can start by opening the door."
Serena turned to Charisma and said, "Thank you Charisma for everything you have done for my family and me. I even suspect for my descendants in the future."
Charisma smiled bowing her head for a second, "My pleasure as always, Neo Queen Serenity." Serena smiled.
Serena took a deep breath then walked towards the door. Charisma smiled as she started to fade away. Serena met her daughter's eyes that looked like a teenaged version of herself only with strawberry blonde hair.
Rini asked worried, "Mom, are you okay?"
Serena slowly nodded. Rini walked down the stairs behind Serena.
Serena looked amazed as she rode in a flying black limousine with Rini and Katie sitting next to her while her parents sat on the opposite side. Her family looked at her strangely as everything about Crystal Tokyo fascinated her. It looked like the city that Elena created but it felt happier.
Serena looked stunned as they drove into a tall crystal palace. The castle guards sporting the crescent symbol crest on their armor saluted them.
Serena started to feel something in the pit of the stomach. She started to feel sick .She feared this was still the world that Elena created. It was like a confusing dream she wanted to wake up from.
The grand doors on the palace opened and Serena watched as the guards and people bowed down as she walked pass. She was dressed as Neo Queen Selenity while her children wore regular clothes and her parents followed happily behind. One of her royal advisors opened a tall golden door.
"Surprise!" Confetti and horns were blown as she walked into a room where they cheered for her. At the center of the large ballroom with a gigantic chandelier hanging in the center of it, she saw her friends. Mina looked happy with a tall and handsome blonde man. She had a little girl about six with blonde pigtails and blue eyes like Mina. The little girl waved at her. Serena smiled and waved back. She then saw Ami. She wore her blue hair in a bob smiling warmly at Serena. Next to her stood her husband Greg and their sixteen-year-old son Greg. He was holding hands of a teenaged version of Lita, a pretty girl with long brown hair and green eyes. She stood next to her mother Lita and father Ken. Serena saw her brother Sammy with his heavily pregnant wife Hope. She saw Raye standing next to. Next to Raye stood her husband Chad, the lead singer of the hit alternative rock band called Earth's Rejects. Their fourteen-year-old daughter Riley that looked like a teenaged version of Raye stood next to them and a twelve-year-old boy with raven hair and green eyes named Kyle. Then, there was Luna, Artemis, and Diana in human form. She saw Molly and Melvin with their three children. She saw Motoki with his wife Rita and their three children. She smiled. She then saw four people she did not recognize but their names slowly came to her. She saw Michelle and Haruka. Michelle was dressed in a pretty blue wrap dress while Haruka dressed nicely in a dress shirt, slacks, and sports jacket. She then saw Trisha standing next to a sixteen-year-old stepdaughter Hotaru Tomoe and her husband Dr. Tomoe.
The hairs on the back of her neck started to rise as she felt the probing stare of someone watching her. She spun around and looked stunned when she saw it was an older version of Darien standing in the doorway smiling at her. She looked stunned when she saw it was King Endyimon. Katie giggled while Rini rolled her eyes. She jumped when she turned around and saw that her fourteen hundred-year-old little brother Derek was standing next to her. He was splitting image of their father King Endyimon.
Derek looked at Serena. He asked, "What's wrong with mom?"
Rini shrugged her shoulders, "I don't know. She's been acting strange all morning."
Rini asked playfully shoving her brother, "So how was your little talk with Dad about not wanting to become a doctor?"
Rini watched as a serious expression appeared on her little brother's face. He said, "Our trip was cut short. While on diplomatic business in Europe, Dad was informed by his chief council about reports from South America of extraterrestrial plant-like creatures draining the life force out of the natives. It looks like the creatures are extraterrestrial creatures being implanted in this world from space. Dad already sent out your Senshi, the Asteroid Senshi, to check it out yesterday. The outer Senshi discovered a UFO from Crystal Towers in North America heading our way. It looks like it'll make it to Earth within a couple of months. This will preoccupy everyone for a few weeks, maybe even months."
Derek let out a sigh of relief, "Thank God. Worst case scenario, mom said she'll talk to dad for me." He was relieved that he had a short reprieve before he break the news and disappoint his father about not wanting to become a world renowned neurosurgeon like his father was. His father wanted him to do something practically since his sister Princess Serenity III would become queen one day. His father constantly tossing him hints throughout his life that he wanted his son to be a doctor like buying him a stethoscope when he was three hundredth birthday, dressing him up as a doctor for costume parties, and buying him a brain model for his eight hundredth birthday to practice learning the different parts of the brain. Now, he had him doing an unpaid internship at the hospital after school as he spent hours boringly watching his father preforming surgeries while everyone praised him for the genius that he was or simply because he was the King of the Earth.
Rini rolled her eyes as her little brother. "You are ridiculous, Derek. Mom isn't always going to be here to fight your battles."
Derek shrugged his shoulders at his sister. He then discreetly scanned the guests in the crowd looking for a certain raven-haired beauty. He smiled when his eyes spotted her. Riley caught him staring at her and for a moment locked eyes with Prince Derek. She smiled at him as she nervously tucked a fallen strand of her raven hair behind her ear. A red hue appeared on her cheeks as she smiled warmly at him before he turned his attention back to his parents. Riley admired the handsome prince with raven hair like hers and dreamy dark blue eyes. She then returned her attention also to her king and queen.
King Endyimon smiled down at his wife with a smile that reached his eyes. He said with an amused expression, "Happy two thousandth anniversary my dear." Serena looked at him in disbelief. She started to feel light headed. A painful migraine was throbbing against her temple. Her heart pounded rapidly and everything started to spin around her until she started to faint and lose consciousness. She collapsed to the ground hitting her head against the concrete floor. Everyone rushed over in a panic over to her. Everything then faded to black.
Darkness surrounded Serena as she heard the sound of the IV. She heard a familiar voice softly calling her Japanese name. She slowly opened her eyes and saw Ami smiling down at her. She was wearing a white lab coat with a stethoscope around her neck. She looked older about in her mid-thirties.
Her throat was dry as she touched it.
Serena said weakly, "Ami?"
Serena looked around and saw that she was in a hospital room. She was a candy striper in the distance by the door.
Ami turned to the girl and said, "Mary, go fetch the queen some water."
The girl said hastily, "Yes, Dr. Mizuno."
Ami turned to Serena and smiled .She caressed her long golden hair that now hung loose around her. "Hi, Usagi. I'm glad you're awake. We've been very worried about you. You have been in a coma for the last three days. Do you know where you are?"
Serena answered quietly, "In a hospital room?" The girl quickly returned with a cup of water. Ami thanked the girl then dismissed her. Ami helped Serena lifted her head to sip the water through the straw then placed the cup down on the desk next to Serena's bed.
Ami asked, "Correct. Do you remember who you are? What year it is?"
Serena answered with confusion on her face recalling the date on her father's newspaper and remembered what Charisma told her, "It's the year four thousand and thirteen. I am Queen Serenity of Crystal Tokyo."
Ami said with a smile, "Well, it seems like you're our Usagi, but you seemed different."
Serena asked out of the blue, "Why don't you hate me?"
Ami laughed lightly and asked with a smile, "How could I possibly hate you, Usagi. You're my best friend. You're actually the first friend I ever made so you are very special to me. You're special to all of us. Everyone loves you because you have the biggest heart in the world. You bring light to even the darkest of souls. So how could I possibly hate you?" Serena's eyes started to become misty.
The door slowly opened. She saw Mamoru walking in with a bouquet of roses. He looked shaken and relieved when he saw that she was awake. He was dressed in a white lab coat with a white dressed shirt and black tie with black trousers and black loafers.
Blue met blue as their eyes locked with one another. Ami turned to see Mamoru and smiled. After placing a soft kiss on Serena's forehead, she got up.
Mamoru said placing the flowers on a table in the corner never taking his eye off of her. Mamoru asked, "How is she doing?"
Ami said with a smile, "Slightly distorted but she's fine, Mamoru."
Mamoru looked at Ami and smiled. "Thanks, Ames."
Ami smiled then said stuffing her hands in her pockets, "My pleasure. I'll leave you two alone." She added, "I promised my mother, I'll scrub in for one of her surgeries. She'll have a fit if I'm late."
She turned to Serena and gave her one last loving smile before walking out.
Serena looked up to see Mamoru was now looking at her with distraught eyes. She looked at him as if he was a stranger.
Mamoru said upset as he slowly sat down next to her on the bed, "You scared me for a second, Usako. I thought I was going to lose you."
He leaned down to kiss her but stopped when she turned her face away from him.
Mamoru looked at her confused then things something donned on him. "You're not Usagi, at least not my Usagi."
She turned her head to him.
Mamoru asked, "Who are you?"
Serena asked, "My name is Serena. How do you know?"
Mamoru said, "Usagi is my soul mate. When you are with someone for two thousand years, you know when they are not themselves."
Mamoru sighed, "I know who you are, but I don't know you. I came from a different reality where you were about to die."
Mamoru asked confused, "What do you mean?"
Serena took a deep breath, "It's a long story."
Mamoru said, "I have time." Mamoru listened as Serena told him her tale about her parents dying and Sammy and her moving to New Orleans to live with their Aunt Elena. She told him about Eric and how he manipulated her. She told him how she lost herself and started working for Elena and meeting her father and regaining the silver crystal and using it to destroy the world."
Mamoru looked amazed at her. He said, "Wow, it seemed like you have been through a lot." He added amused, "But I can't picture myself with Raye. It's too weird. She's like my little sister along with the rest of the girls."
He then leaned over to her and touched her hand with his. He startled her. He said with a whisper, "But I cannot imagine a life without you in it. I can't imagine loving someone else the way that I have loved you since with we were teenagers."
Serena said with a smile, "Charisma said that everyone was happy in this life."
Mamoru said amused, "Ah, the moon witch."
Serena turned to him and asked, "Is she in this reality?"
Mamoru smiled shaking his hand.
Serena said worried, "I didn't see your parents at the party. Where were they?"
Mamoru answered with a sad smile, "They died when I was young. There was no Zack to save me. I don't know how I was saved from the car accident. I hardly remembered them."
A tear rolled down Serena's eyes. Serena said emotionally, "Then everyone didn't get a happy ending. You lost your family."
Mamoru smiled then said, "But I did have a happy ending." Serena looked stunned. Mamoru said, "I found you and you changed my life. You are my family, Usako along with our beautiful children and our friends and family and our nieces and nephews. So I stopped being that lonely kid a very long time ago."
They stared at one another for a moment. Mamoru broke the silence then asked, "So you don't remembered the day we met when you threw that test paper at my head?"
Serena shook her head.
"You don't remember Sailor Venus saving all of us from Zoicite's trap?"
Serena shook her head.
"You don't remember Alan and Ann and me losing my memory?" Serena shook her head. "Meeting Rini? The Dark Moon family? Battling Chaos?"
Serena said, "Yes, I remembered Diamond and the others. He was my lover."
Mamoru shook his head as he started to feel jealousy at the idea of his wife being intimate with another man. "No, he was the enemy. He was obsessed with you. Remembered we defeated Chaos?"
Serena shook her head. "Meeting the outer Senshi. Sailor Pluto? Sailor Neptune? Sailor Uranus? Sailor Saturn?"
Serena shook her head.
"The Dark Moon Circus? The Starlights? Galaxia? Our children?"
Serena shook her head and screamed startling Mamoru. "Stop it! I don't remember!"
Mamoru jumped up shaking her a little bit. "You have to remember, Usako? You have to remember us? You have to remember!"
Serena screamed, "Leave me alone!"
A group of doctors and nurses rushed in. Mamoru looked shaken up with red eyes on the verge of tears. His wife did not remember him the way he wanted her to remember him.
He watched with horror as they held down a kicking and screaming Serena and she yelled at them to leave her alone. One of the doctors stuck a needle in her arm sedating her as she slowly fell back and went to sleep.
Motoki walked in also being a doctor at the hospital. He escorted Mamoru out. Motoki asked as they walked towards the elevator, "What's going on?"
Mamoru said angrily, "She's doesn't remember me. She doesn't remember our children or the life with created together."
Motoki said placing a comforting hand on Mamoru's shoulders as they entered the elevator, "I'm sorry, man."
Mamoru said looking at the top of the elevator, "That woman in there is my wife. She just doesn't love me." She said shaking his head. "I shouldn't have left."
Motoki said, "You're the king. There was trouble in South America. There was no way you could have known that the kingdom would come under attack."
A week ago, Usagi disguised in civilian form decided to walk Katie to school. Their world was mostly a peaceful world so she did not feel the need of bodyguards to come with her. A lone youma attacked Usagi without the crystal. She engaged in battle with the monster but it was extremely powerful and overpowered her knocking her unconscious as she hit her head on the concrete pavement as blood oozes from her head. Katie cried over her mother's numb body. As the youma was about to deliver the final blow to Usagi, Sailor Moon arrived with the Asteroid Senshi to defeat the creature with the power of the moon wand. After the creature was defeated, Sailor Moon detransformed into Rini and used the power of the moon wand to heal her mother's wounds. Usagi came to but was slightly disoriented. It took Usagi a few minutes to remember who and where she was.
A few days later, Serena was released to come home from the hospital. Mamoru warned the children that Serena was suffering from memory loss. She did not remember them. They all looked upset. Katie burst into tears. Derek ran upstairs to his quarters in anger while Rini stayed to comfort her father, who had been a complete wreck over the last week. He drowned himself in his work and alcohol. She could tell he was afraid that her mother may not remember him. They tried to heal her but there was nothing wrong with her. Luna and Artemis tried to restore her memories but it did not work. Raye and Ami convinced her to try the moon wand to heal her mother, but it did not work. Rini was hurt as her mother simply stared at her but there was no trace of recognition in her eyes. It was as if she knew that Rini was her daughter since they were so similar but she did not remember her.
The only people she really wanted to be around were her grandparents, Uncle Sammi, the Inner Senshi, and Luna.
Serena slowly walked into the palace. She was wearing a white blouse with jeans and boots. Her long hair was in a loose bun. Mamoru slowly walked down the stairs smiling warmly at her even though the smile did not reach his eyes. In his eyes was pain. Their butler brought in her suitcase.
Mamoru said not taking his eyes off his wife, "Could you take it upstairs to the master suite and unpack her things, Maxwell."
The butler bowed and said, "Yes, your majesty."
Serena looked scared as sensed they were alone. She took a step back as he approached her.
Mamoru smiled. "There's no need to be scared, Usagi."
Serena said sacredly, "I asked to be brought to my parents but they sent me here."
Mamoru said with a hint of hurt, "Because you are the queen of the world, Usagi. This is where you belong."
Serena slowly shook her head. Serena asked, "No, I don't."
Mamoru said angrily, "Yes, you do. Let me prove it to you." Her eyes widen as he marched up to her. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her. Serena slowly started to weaken in his arms. He broke apart from her and searched her eyes for recognition. When he only saw shock and confusion, he kissed her again. She closed her eyes and found herself wrapping her arms around him.
As Mamoru kissed her, Serena started to remember her life. She used the power of the silver crystal and destroyed the world and then brought everyone back to life in a world where they had a chance for happiness. She remembered the great freeze that occurred. She remembered waking up and unfreezing the world. She remembered creating Crystal Tokyo. She remembered granting Earthlings immortality. She remembered marrying Darien and the birth of their children and their friends' children.
There were still attacks over the centuries of foreign invaders trying to take away their peace. Neo Queen Serenity and the Sailor Senshi defended their planet until they no longer needed to transform in ordered to harness their powers. Now, there were a new generations of Sailor warriors that defended their world. It was their children who inherited their gifts. They became the new Sailor Senshi led by her daughter Rini or Serenity as she preferred to be called these days as the new Sailor Moon. The latest threat was otherworldly creatures from a distant world draining Earthlings of their life force but Serena was ready to protect her world against their new threat.
When Mamoru broke away from her, Serena's eyes filled with tears as she stared at her husband who was looking down at her with loving eyes. She cried as a tear fell down her cheek, "Mamo-chan." He gently moved his hand up to her cheek and wiped the tear away.
Mamoru said softly, "Welcome back, my love."
Serenity smiled and embraced her husband. She peeked over her shoulders to see the children spying on them upstairs by the staircase.
She smiled at them. She broke away from Mamoru and said, "Hello, my darlings." They smiled as they raced down the stairs towards her. Rini hugged her first and smiled, "I missed you, mommy."
Serena said, "You did well, my love. You are turning out to be an excellent Sailor Moon."
Rini blushed, "Thanks mom." She then went to hug her dad.
Derek then went to hug her and gave her long, lingering hug. Serena laughed. Derek said, "I love you mother. I'm glad you got your memories back."
He backed away from her. Serena smiled, "I love you too, sweetheart."
Katie leaped into her mother's arms and hugged her catching Serena off guard. She said happily, "I knew you would get your memories back. Rini and Derek didn't believe me."
Rini and Derek rolled their eyes at her. Rini said, "Stop lying brat. You were upset and cried like a little baby, crybaby." Katie stuck her tongue out.
Serena turned to Rini and said crossly setting Katie down on her feet, "Rini, you know I hated when you teased your little sister."
Rini pouted then smiled, "Just testing you." Serena and Rini shared at laugh causing all of them to start laughing.
Derek turned to him dad and said, "Dad, almost losing mom taught me that you guys aren't always going to be around. That I have to one day learned to stop depending on you guys for everything and become my own man." Derek looked down for a moment then looked up at his father. He said sacredly, "Dad, I don't want to be a doctor. I hate medicine and the sight of blood makes me nausea."
Mamoru dropped his mouth in disbelief. He remained silent for a long time as Derek stared at him afraid that his father would hate him. Serena smiled at her husband.
Mamoru asked, "Are you sure?"
Derek nodded biting his bottom lip nervously. Mamoru stared at Serena who smiled at him and nodded.
Serena said playfully, "Darling, tell your son that you are okay."
Mamoru let out a deep sigh. He said unenthusiastically, "It's okay son. You have to do what makes you happy." Derek smiled.
Usagi smiled and said to her son placing a hand on his shoulder, "See speaking up for yourself is not all that bad." Derek smiled happily feeling like a weight was lifted off his shoulders.
Derek smiled and said embracing his dad. "Thanks, Dad."
Katie looked up at her parents and said, "Hey, we never got to celebrate your two thousandth anniversary."
Mamoru and Usagi looked at one another.
Mamoru then asked picking up Katie and holding her on his arm, "What do you suggest princess?"
Katie said happily, "Ice Cream."
Serena asked, "At the Crown Parlor?"
Rini and Derek looked at one another with a hint of amusement in their eyes.
They said simultaneously, "It's fine with us."
Serena folded her arms and looked at her son and oldest daughter. She asked with an arch eyebrow, "You two want to hang out with us old folks. Rini, don't you have plans with your friends? Derek don't you have a date with Riley or hanging out with your friends?"
They shrugged their shoulders. Rini said looking at her brother, "I think they will understand."
Derek added gleefully as he walked towards the door, "And Riley's already there. She picked up a part-time job there for the summer. Plus Raye and Chad are going to be there too. Chad's song 'Super Girl 2.0' is now the top ten single in Europe."
Rini said following after him, "Yeah and Hotaru is already there with her mom and dad. She said Raye is going to sing a song with Chad."
Mamoru said, "Awesome, I could catch the game with Motoki. I'll call Ken and Greg to meet us over there." Mamoru looked at his wife and said, "I'll tell him to bring Ami and Lita too so you'll have someone to talk to."
Serena laughed sarcastically, "How thoughtful of you, darling." He walked off to call the guys.
Rini and Derek called out simultaneously, "Tell them to invite Sarah and Greg."
Serena said loudly behind his back, "Why don't you call Mina and William too."
Mamoru turned around on the phone. He rolled his eyes at his children then nodded his head.
He looked at his wife and said, "Can't. Mina and Will returned home to London and Michele and Haruka returned to North America since Michele started her summer concert. Molly and Melvin are on holiday with the kids for the rest of the summer. Artemis, Luna, and Diana recently discovered that there were rumors of survivors of their home world Mau living on a Plant Kai in the third galaxy so they will be gone for the next two years. I was only able to get everyone together that weekend." Serena sighed as Mamoru shrugged his shoulders and turned around as one of his friends picked up.
Even though she had known for a while about Artemis, Luna, and Diana's plans for leaving for their expedition to Planet Kai, she was still saddened by their loss. Yet, two years were no time in their long lives.
Katie said pouting her lips, "I never have anyone to play with."
Derek said loudly from outside, "Stupid, if Raye and Chad are going to be there, more than likely your boyfriend Kyle with be there." Katie's cheeks turned red for moment then she shook her head.
She yelled running outside, "Shut up Derek! I don't like boys! They are all stupid like you!"
Mamoru smiled as he stood next to Serena. He folded his arms across the chest as they looked out of the door.
Mamoru asked smiling, "Overwhelmed, Serena?"
Serena looked up at him. She nodded, "It takes getting use to." She then added, "And I prefer Usagi."
Mamoru turned to her and said with a mesmerizing smile, "Whatever you like, Usako."
Mamoru pulled Usagi in his arms with his arms wrapped around the small of her back. He slowly leaned down to kiss her. Usagi slowly closed her eyes as their lips were inches apart.
Rini asked, "Daddy, can I drive?"
Mamoru opened his eyes and said in panic, "Oh god no!" Usagi giggled as Mamoru rushed out of the door to get the keys from Rini.
Mamoru said with a panic, "Honey, give me the keys."
Rini pouted, "But daddy, you promised you would teach me."
Derek said, "Mom, already suffered two concussions, you want her to have another?"
Rini cried, "Shut up, Derek. Daddy!"
Usagi walked towards the door to join her family. She stopped and held her hand on the door knob. She slowly marveled at her beautiful home that she shared with her family.
She took a deep breath and exhaled. She was happy in this world. She was married to the love of her life, had three beautiful children, great friends, a beautiful home, and mostly importantly she was surrounded by love. Her memories of her other life started to slowly fade away from her memory until one day it would seemed like a bad dream. But she would never forget the lessons that she learnt about never giving up hope regardless of how bad things seemed. She learnt from her mistakes and knew that she could forget who she was, what she stood for, and the responsibilities that came with being a queen to her people.
She heard the horn blowing and turned around and smiled as she saw her family waiting impatiently for her in the car. She slowly closed the door and was finally happy that she finally figured out that she had the power to create the life that she wanted.
THE END
