The cold breeze continues, they have stayed in this position until Xiao Qiao made a move by placing her hand onto his, squeezing it as she lean onto him.

His hand was cold; I can sense in his breathing that he already catches a cold, but why he is not telling me?

Xiao Qiao's brows met as she felt guilty and hurt at the same time "Zhou Yu" she sighs

"I'm sorry … for everything" he said quickly cutting her.

Her eyes widen in shock "Yu …" she sighs again, facing him.

"Xiao" taking her hand as he caress it and look straight at her huge eyes "I apologize for everything"

Xiao was shock in disbelief 'His not the only one who did something wrong' she thought.

"This wouldn't happen if I told you at the first place" he continued.

His sincerity gotten to her, Yan Shui's words came back to her "Yu is a very collective and too quiet. He doesn't want anyone he loves find out that his in pain" she was the same, keeping everything not wanting to be a burden to anyone especially to the one she loves. Now she understand, Shin Shui was a special person to Zhou Yu and the most painful memory of his past, and that's why he could not bring himself to tell this to her because it still aches. She had same painful memories that she could not bring herself to tell it to him as well, so this might probably the reason why he couldn't say it her. Now she finally understands, after putting herself in his place.

"There is nothing to forgive" she said out of the blue, staring at the ground and then turn up to him.

Zhou Yu was shock by her words, lips parted in awe.

"I … I understand … I have some things that I could not tell you … I was keeping it"

"I already heard the rumors about you"

"What?" voice turned firm.

"Those court ladies saying that you are not fit to be my wife, you're a mere child and more" he continued.

Remembering those times Xiao looks down once more at the ground, feeling terrible, until now she still can't move on to those times. Every time she heard a 'Rumor' she assumes that it's about her. It became a trauma for her. Now she doesn't know who to trust nor talk too.

"I wanted to do something at that time but, seeing you smiling at me like everything is alright I presume that it was nothing for you … but I had no idea that you were all keeping it" he cups her round delicate face turning it to his "I'm sorry, I ignored your hidden pain"

Thinking that this might be enough he knelled in front of her.

"Zhou Yu!" she squealed

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry" he repeated several times.

It was a heart breaking view, tears started to flow from her face, she couldn't take it anymore. Xiao knelled and hug him tightly. There were no words but, both of them felt that they need to leave the past and move on.

Zhou Yu returned the hug a tear escaped his eye "Xiao I'm sorry"

She shook her head "It's alright, I forgive you" cupping his face and press her lips against his.

The morning was as warm as the sun shines in the castle of Jiang Dong, most of its officers have a hangover but still trying to fulfill their duties and go to their post as soon as possible. They are all alert, after all, Wu have one in the battle of Jing Province, of course Shu is not happy accept this and another war or battle might flourish once again.

Gan Ning and Ling Tong are gloomy and feeling nausea, walking in the corridor trying to get to their post, as Lu Xun passed them by, the young fella didn't drink much last night, he grins at the two.

"Hey, what is that smile for?" Ling Tong said feeling irritated

"Well this might be the first time the both of you are not fighting or being noisy as ever"

"We're not fighting" Gan Ning said

"And we're not noisy!" Ling Tong continued

"Wow, you sure are alright?" Lu Xun said laughing

"Hey you little keep it down!" Gan Ning said

"You sound like an old man" Lu Xun mocked and continues to laugh.

Da Qiao was just finished getting dress as her husband as well, both of them were heading to the dining hall to get breakfast but she pause at the door as she felt something.

"Hey? What are you spacing out for?" he questioned "Is the baby coming?" he continued asking in a serious manner

Da Qiao taps him in the head irritated "No!"

"Then what it is?"

"Well, do you think they talked?"

"You're still worried about them huh"

"Well you can't stop me from worrying"

"Will going to see if they talked or not" taking her hands and hold them "Now stop worrying, it makes you look older that your true age"

"You won't stop mocking me aren't you?" getting worked up, she pinch his ear as he screams in pain

"Come on, Da it's a joke! You never really look old, you're still beautiful" trying to convince her wife but she won't budge.

FLASH BACK

The night was getting more slower as they kissed passionately. They were longing to each other. This wasn't in her mind, either in his. No one had predicted this. It surprisingly aroused inside them, there were no words to describe this, action speak louder than words.

He laid her down on the bed as she cupped his face pulling him close to her. He got on topped on her. A tear escaped in her eyes with a smile, he smiled back but with hesitation he asked "Xiao I" he pause as she put a finger on his lips shutting him up "Zhou Yu … I'm ready" she spoken in a mature manner. It surprised him to hear that his young beautiful wife is offering herself to him, deep inside himself he wanted this but his respect to her was keeping him from doing this.

But after hearing those word from her, giving him permission, he felt blessed and unworthy of getting her, but still he felt unexplained happy, making love to the person he treasures the most, his wife.

In Zhou Yu's chamber, the warm sun rays cradle from the window to the whole room, lighting it up. The commotion outside and the sun light woken him up, until now he could still not believe that she is now on his arms, sleeping peacefully.

He calculated that she may not take his apology that easily, it may take another week but it just took one night for her to forgive him and they even end up making love. It was unpredictable. He knew from the start, Xiao Qiao is unpredictable, she's unique, his a lucky jerk to have her, he thought.

He stroke her hair that was covering her round face, putting it behind her ear and then caress her rosy cheek, she was beautiful and the more you stare her, her maturity flourished.

Xiao groans feeling rudely awaken, burying her face deep in his bare chest "Xiao, its morning already" he whispered laughing silently.

She opened her eyes, blinking to clear her vision, Zhou Yu watch her smiling "What's with you smiling?" pouting she rubs her eyes "Well watching you snore was really entertaining" he joked.

"I do not snore!" she protests, Zhou Yu just laugh "Hey quit it!" she said whining. Zhou Yu pushed her into a hug, pinning her onto the bed and tickle her, their laughter filed the room. He pulls the covers to cover her chest, Xiao watch him, carefully and silently.

"I wonder" he said breaking the sudden silence "Why you forgave me that easily, I still could not convince myself that its already over" looking straight to her eyes. Her respond was very simple, her signature smile, she coiled her arms to his neck pulling him closer and their lips touched. She loved him deeply and no one can question it, no one can match her love for him, that what she thought, and that was the reason she have forgave him easily because she can't carry a grudge against him.

He felt the same way, even though she was his second love, he felt that she was the first and the last, no man could ever match his feeling for her. At this era, he could offer his own life for her safety, he would endure all the pain from those arrows just not let her get hurt. His was devoted and a passionate lover.

Everyone in the castle started whispering and talking about Xiao Qiao and Zhou Yu after some maids saw them walking together looking alright, of course as usual the rumors travel fast, it crossed over from the borders of the castle to the city of Jiang Dong.

"Really? Their together again?"

"Well that was fast?"

"Maybe everything was just a silly rumor"

Merchants, soldiers and an ordinary citizen of Jiang Dong were talking about them; there is no one in the city who don't know who they are.

The couple ignored the whispers of people as they walked by, it was like they already adopted the nature of being talked about. It was not normal but considering that they are from the high and well known families they must endure it. Their every move was being watched by the public, it was hard to move when every wrong move will be criticized immediately, but now they simply don't care.

No one's perfect any ways, so why we need to keep a perfect image? They both thought about it, and they both agreed with it. Now there's nothing important on Zhou Yu's mind except asking his sworn brother for another leave and continuing their suspended honey moon.

Going their separate ways, he took her hand and kissed it, Xiao felt like a royal princess getting this treatment from her husband. Walking down the narrow corridor two maids were whispering, she walked pass by them. Before they left from his chamber, they decided to ignore those whisperers and rumors but it caught her attention hearing from the maid

"His acting that way, courting her and making her feel good just because he did a terrible thing, his covering it up, using his face and charms"

Her mood changed, her aura and the smile on her face vanished slowly. She stood frozen realizing it, that maybe they were right, he faked being sincere; her thoughts were paused hearing her sister calling her from her back. Turning around to her "Sis" she sighs seeing her walking quickly to her "I was finding you everywhere! You were not in your room, I thought something has terrible happened to you!" full of worry Da Qiao checked her for any injury "I'm fine, I was in Zhou Yu's room last night" she said with a quick smile.

"Your in his room?" eyes widen and gotten curious "So both of you are alright now? Is that it?" observing her sister, she smiles with a familiar aura, the afterglow that caused by love making.

"Hmm yeah" she sighs as her face change.

"But why for face say it"

"Da Qiao, if a man waits for you and kneels in front of you, apologizing, is it really true? Is he sincere? How can you sense or get a hint that his not?"

"Xiao, isn't yet enough?" she tilted her head in confusion

"Not all man are like that, well base on my experiences you can sense them lying by looking through his eyes"

Xiao turn to her palm, remembering what occurred last night.

"Lips can fake words and fake smile but the eyes could not deny what your heart truly holds" Da Qiao continued.

The even last night flashed before her eyes, trying to see what her sister told her. His eyes were rich and firm looking straight to her, smiling in she finds the answer to her problem, but it quickly fades when she realized that he doubted him.

"Your doubting him, aren't you?" Da Qiao said after scanning her sister's face, Xiao was shocked and startled "I-come on Da? I was-" waving her hands trying hard to convince her that is not but her sister knew her.

"Its alright, its okay, your trust were broken that's why your doubting him"

"You think so?"

"Yes, now come on let's get our breakfast, my child is getting hungry"

The sisters walk to the main hall, holding each other's hand. Still Xiao was bothered, why she let those rumors affect her again? Trying to move her mind in to some other things but the words of those ladies were still repeating in her mind.

Deep in thoughts she have not notice that they reached their destination, where her brother in law and her husband was waiting for them. The hand she held was out of grasp and she snaps in reality. She watched her sister getting together with her Lord, Sun Ce was checking her, after all her condition was delicate for carrying a child.

A warm and huge hand took hers, she nearly jumps in shock but being familiar with it she calms down and looks to her side. Zhou Yu was wearing a smile while looking at her sister and sworn brother and then turns to her. Staring at his eyes, as she took her sister's words

"Lips can fake words and fake smile but the eyes could not deny what your heart truly holds"

It was a true smile, she said in a low tone.

"What?" he asked in confusion.

"Nothing!" she squeals as she turn to the wooden floor with blushing face. She was so distracted by her thoughts and almost lost in reality. She covers her face in embarrassment. Zhou Yu watched her as he chuckles "Come on let's go, you must be hungry" he took her hand and place it in his arm. He walks proudly while she was still looking down.

People again whispers and talk about them, they really are an entertainment to others. He ignored it, even though it bothered him a lot. He squeezes her hand, closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Xiao watch him as he was trying to calm down, she squeezes his hand back and smile at him as he turn to her. A comforting smile was they both need in the world of criticisms.
