Chapter 5: Our Next Move

(A/N: I am SOOOOO sorry about deleting this chapter, it was a big numbering mistake, and I pressed the wrong button when I tried to change it and SORRY! And I'm also sorry if this chapter is different from the original chap 4.)

Katniss' POV

That night, everyone agreed was pretty weird. So we were led to our rooms by Lucy and this weird creature that looked like a cross between a person and a donkey. But they were really nice, whoa did I sound like Prim or what. The room was bigger than the ones in the Capitol, there were three huge beds with red covers and a golden lion on the front. The walls were also painted red but the ceiling was painted like the night sky, the stars and the stages of the moon were dazzling on a soothing dark blue canvas that made the stars seem real. As if they were just out of your reach.

The room didn't necessarily have a bathroom, but a huge while stone basin filled with water and a vanity desk. None of which I cared for. There were chests in front of each bed that were wooden and glazed over to shine and the metal on it was brightly polished, I reached for my arrows but remembered they were still in the arena along with my bow. Buttercup however, made himself right at home and nestled himself on the bright red covers of one of the beds and began to snore peacefully. I rolled my eyes.

The window next to the vanity desk showed a dark landscape with a setting sun that only peaked out a little, at the sight of the rolling hills that seemed to glow like a candle next to the bit of sun I yawned which was followed by the sound of Rue and Prim's yawning.

"I guess it's late," I sat on the bed and slipped off my boots, "We should probably get to bed, who knows what will await tomorrow."

Prim and Rue look at each other, and I swear it law like watching them look in the mirror. A seriously messed up mirror but they look even more alike when they're together.

I took the bed in the middle, Rue took the one on the left and Prim was left with the one closest to the window on the right. (If y'all know Latin than you'd get the joke I just made.) And we slowly drifted to sleep.

Lucy's POV

The next morning, after our guests have found their rooms and all, Susan were walking to the dinning hall to meet up with Peter and Edmund. As Susan and I walked, we were talking about the White Witch's followers and what Peter is thinking to do about it.

"I can't believe he's thinking about doing it," began Susan in an irritated voice, "If he thinks that we have the resources to go to war, he's off his edge."

"I hate to say it," I reply, "but you're absolutely right. We don't have enough people for soldiers...What about those seven mysterious characters from last night?"

"Don't count on it, Lu."

We continued walking to the Dinning Hall discussing our eldest brother's asinine idea, and my ears catch a small pitter patter behind us. Behind Susan and I, scurried my dear friend Mr Tumnus. His curly, cinnamon brown hair looked disheveled, his bright red scarf, which was always in an orderly place, was drooping off his shoulders, and his eyes were sullen as if he's seen a ghost.

I ran back to meet up with him, "Mr. Tumnus," I greeted him with a friendly smile.

His face was full of fear than friendliness, "Queen Lucy -"

"Mr. Tumnus, you know I prefer 'Lucy'."

"Lucy, our worst fears have been realized," he breathed, "the Resistance is...getting stronger. They're declaring war on Care Paravel, and I'm afraid we may no be ready for another war."

I gave Susan a nervous look, and she had the same expression. I turn back to Mr. Tumnus who began sweating anxiously, "You've done so much for me, my friend, but I need you to do one more favor for me," I say in a coo, "can you continue to spy on the resistance for a bit more. We need to know everything."

Mr. Tumnus gave a small nod before trotting off in the other direction. I looked up at Susan and she looked at me. We both bolted to the Dinning Hall to warn Peter.

Edmund's POV

Breakfast with our new guests is, in a word, awkward. No one's touched their food, or said a word. Primrose and Rue just stare at their plates with hungry expressions but are afraid to eat it. Percy and his friends were talking in their secret language, and Katniss was just staring into space in deep thought. Her eyes suddenly widen, as if remembering something.

The tension in the room, and everyone not eating, caused Pete and I to be awkward. We didn't touch one morsel of food. All of a sudden, Lucy and Susan burst through the doors with urgent expressions marking their faces. Everyone watched as the two made their way to Peter's side.

Susan whispered something in Peter's ear and his indifferent look turned quickly into worry. What had happened that would make Peter so worried? The last time he looked like that was when we fought the White Witch.

Peter cleared his throat to get everyone's attention, then stood, "It's come to my attention that a Resistance gathered by the followers of the White Witch has...declared war on Care Paravel," oh no, "I don't have enough men to go into battle. If we tried anything, it would be for nothing, and Narnia will become a frozen wasteland."

Signs of worry and fear crossed everyone's faces and they looked at each other as if they had the answer, "Now normally I'd never ask a bunch of kids to go into a war," Percy and Annabeth rolled their eyes and Thalia stifled a laugh, "but we're desperate."

Percy stood, "Peter," he said rather mellow dramatically, "my friends and I will fight by your side."

Katniss stood too, "Me too."

Rue and Primrose stood as well, "Don't forget about us!"

"Oh no," remarked Katniss almost motherly, "you two won't be going into any war."

"Um," Rue interjected, "I've been through hell and back, I think I can handle war."

"And I want to help!" Primrose chimed.

"Prim, you hate war."

"Rory taught me how to take care of myself," Primrose said matter-of-factually, "He knew I'd be dragged into some kind of life threatening danger."

"We're going to need every person we can get," I chimed in.

"Katniss, I can do this. I've been practicing."

Katniss let out a sigh, "I'll still be watching you closely."

"I know."

"And you'll follow my directions."

"You know best."

"And you won't push too hard."

"That's what she said," I heard Percy mumble. Thalia and Nico snickered, but Annabeth glared at him.

"Promise."

"Great," said Peter, "now, meet me outside by noon. We're going to see what all of you can do."

Everyone cleared out to prepare for the training. Who knows, this might be fun.
