Final chapter.
TURNING POINT
Dean faded in and out still fighting to breathe and the awful fever that just seemed to burn straight through him.
He would see Arandi's worried, tired face and he wanted to reach to her comfort her but his body wouldn't cooperate. He couldn't talk, he could feel fresh oxygen and he hungrily tried to suck it in but he couldn't seem to get enough.
"It's ok Dean just get better." Sam told him soothingly. "Please just get better."
Sam knew that even in Dean's state of illness his mind was on Arandi. He didn't want for Dean to see how tired Arandi was or how guilt ridden she was for Dean getting so deathly ill. She blamed herself and it was taking its toll on her.
They said bad things came in threes well it looked as if they came in three dozens for Dean and Arandi.

Dean opened his eyes and took a deep breath. His chest ached but he was able to finally take the breath without feeling like he was dying.
He looked around bleary eyed, his body achy from laying down too long and he wondered what had happened. It had to be bad as he realized that he was in the hospital. Arandi? Where was Arandi?
"Whoa, easy there." Misha said softly.
"Arandi? Sam?" Dean rasped out and coughed.
Misha offered him a spoon of ice chips and Dean took them in greedily. He relished how the cool water trickled down his parched throat.
"Your brother will be here any minute. We had to drag him away kicking and screaming to get some sleep. Arandi is a few floors up in the maternity ward."
Dean eyes widened in fear and he tried to sit up. Misha pushed him back nicely but hard. "She's going to be fine Dean. Worrying about you and blaming herself wore her out and the doctor made her take bed rest. He knew better than to send her home and her blood pressure was already off the charts so he just admitted her. They wouldn't let her stay with you for fear that she might catch a virus."
"What was wrong with me?" Dean asked trying to process how he was going to worm his way to Arandi.
"You my friend got whammed by double pneumonia. You scared the hell out of all of us."
Dean nodded tiredly, his eyes already drooping. He couldn't move to save his soul. He smiled sluggishly at Sam as he walked through the door. He tried to blink but his eyes refused to open again.

It was nearly three days later that Dean started to feel even remotely like himself again and able to stay awake longer than twenty minutes.
He had enough in him to project that he needed to see Arandi and finally everyone gave in before they had to have him sedated.
She was sound asleep curled on her side. Hands protective on her growing baby bump. Dean's eyes burned as he gently took her hand in his.
She opened her eyes and smiled tiredly at him and it was beautiful.

Once they were home it took them a few more days to feel anywhere near normal but being together they didn't mind the extra naps and having to eat lots of soup.
Dean was thrilled once he saw Arandi back to her glowing self and getting bigger by the day.
Her cravings though he could do without. Liver with sour cream and jalapenos, beef jerky with barbeque sauce, ketchup on strawberry ice cream and a very strange fascination with the scent of Pine Sol.
"I have to go back to work." He said one day at breakfast.
Arandi sighed. "I know but now with me being pregnant and your ability to get shot way to often…" She trailed off. "Can't you be a mechanic full time?"
He could but that wasn't what he wanted to do and he also didn't want to have her worrying her blood pressure up too high. "I'll make a few calls." He said with a smile.

"Dean I have to use the bathroom again." Arandi whined for the hundredth time since they had left for their trip.
"We're almost there baby, promise." He squeezed her hand.
Arandi sighed as she looked out the truck as they drove to a bed and breakfast for the weekend. It was beautiful hill country.
Soon Dean turned down a road that led them to a tree lined drive and he pulled to a stop in front of a gorgeous modernized ranch house.
Arandi looked around for the sign for the bed and breakfast and frowned when she didn't spot it. "Dean where are we?"
"Home if you like it?" He said helping her out of the truck.
"What?" She said as she looked around wide eyed. She loved the place. It was quiet and a perfect place to raise their family. "You bought it?"
"Not yet. I have it on standby. I won't sign anything without your ok."
"From the city to this Dean are you sure?" She asked in disbelief.
"I've always wanted a ranch." The old Arandi knew that and she had wanted the same.
"What about a job?"
"Well that is the main reason I chose this ranch. After making the phone calls I mentioned Captain Morgan got a hold of his brother who was just about to retire and the job is mine if we want it."
"What job is that my love?"
"Sheriff." He grinned.
"I thought sheriffs got elected or something like that."
"Well people weren't exactly standing in line to run for the title of town with the population of three thousand. The worst crime this town has seen is cow tipping."
Arandi huffed. "I better not stand still too long."
Dean burst into laughter and then pulled her into a kiss. "They have to get by me first."
"You know you can't dress like the lone ranger, right?"
"You just took the fun out this job." He sighed. "Hey Silver your contract is now null and void." He called toward the barn.
The neigh of actual horse startled Arandi.
Dean shrugged. "Can't have a ranch without horses. 'Sides puts me ahead of the game when the kids ask for a pony. Instant dad of the year right there." He drawled.
"Please stop before I pee on myself." Arandi laughed.
Dean pouted. "What you don't think I can be dad of the year?"
"Baby you're going to be dad of millennium." She kissed the tip of his nose.
He sighed and smiled grandly. "Well ma'am I'm just waiting on your say so."
"What about Sam and Jade? Do they know about this?"
"There's a hold on the place up the road. I do need a deputy or two." Dean winked.
"Who's the two?"
"Misha of course."
"You convinced Misha to leave Dallas?"
"It wasn't that hard. I told him that there would be lots of single women. I just left out the part where they are all deaf senile older women."
"Oh great so I have to worry about you being gummed to death."
"Jealous? I think I like that." He smiled seductively. "Let's say we break in the house."
"It's not ours yet."
"Technicalities my dear."
"Technically if you don't show me to the nearest bathroom things are going to get ugly."
Dean cringed and pulled her along as fast as she could go.

Arandi leaned back against Dean as they swayed to the music and she sipped on some fruity smoothie. All their friends and now ex coworkers threw them a going away-baby shower party.
Dean had bought Arandi a gorgeous cream colored maternity dress and she was happy as could be and had no clue that Dean had something up his sleeve.
He spun her around slowly and placed both hands on her extended belly. "You know it would be completely perfect if I got to carry Mrs. Dean Winchester across that threshold when we leave for our new home."
They were staying in a hotel now that all their things had been taken to their home. Dean had spent an entire weekend setting everything up so that when Arandi got there all she would have to worry about was decorating the nursery and putting in the final female touches.
"Well unless you have a minister or a JP hidden around here it's not going to happen." Arandi smiled. Happy beyond words that Dean was so anxious to make her completely his.
"Did somebody say minister?" Misha asked in excitement yanking a bewildered man behind him.
Arandi stared at Dean who only smiled that smile that made her fall a little harder every time she saw it. "I know you want a big fancy wedding and a dress that will rival any Hollywood celebrity but marry me right now so that we can start our new lives complete. I promise once the boys are born we'll have the wedding of the century and I'll take you anywhere you want to go on our honeymoon."
Arandi looked at him teary eyed. "Where did you get the idea that I wanted all that?"
"Three hundred and thirteen bridal magazines with marked pages spread across our apartment kind of threw a major hint." Dean made a 'duh' face.
"Two hundred and seventy two magazines thank you very much and all engaged women look at those." She took his hands and kissed each palm. "My love as long as you're the one that I'm marrying I don't care if I'm wearing a Lady Gaga meat dress and you're dressed like Tarzan."
"What is it with you and Tarzan?"
Arandi smiled slyly. "I really, really want to see you swinging from a vine in a loin cloth."
Dean chuckled and felt really hot all of sudden.
"So we have a wedding or what?" Sebastian yelled.
"Bring it on!" Arandi yelled back. The whole place went in an uproar and Dean could swear that he was in heaven and he gave his best Tarzan yell.

Dean carried his wife into their new home and it really felt like home. She was at that point in her pregnancy where she just couldn't get enough of him and well that was just fine with him.
So what if he walked a little more bow legged than usual? Most people didn't notice because they were too busy trying to figure out why he smiled so much.
It wasn't long before he knew most of the town. Most of them were friendly but like every town it had its trouble makers and drinkers.
Most days Dean was dying of boredom even though Misha and his antics had Dean wondering how he ever got into law enforcement.
Dean did like being the boss though and took it seriously with his entire crew of twenty and that was day and night shifts. The entire seven firemen of the town hung out close by so they played a lot of pool, darts, and poker.
Dean was suddenly an even better shot than he had ever been and his knife throwing skills were quite admirable.
He'd usually go home for lunch or would take Arandi into town to decide from the four fast food places or the three diners that they had to choose from.
It was a nice and peaceful place and it was home.
The news about Arandi's amnesia had spread like wildfire so no one asked about her past and she was grateful for that small token.
Dean, Sam, Misha, and some of the other officers often shared a beer after work at the only bar in town before everyone headed to their respective homes. Well except Misha who was completely smitten with the bartender Barbie and she seemed to feel the same way.
Dean headed home to his wife and home cooked meal and loved how she looked carrying their boys. He gave her nightly massages, helped her shave her legs, and enjoyed lounging in a warm bath while she leaned back against him.
As she drifted off to sleep beside him once they headed to bed he told his boys stories and rubbed her belly and she swore they calmed when he did that. They know their daddy's voice, they knew that they were loved.
With only weeks left before her due date Arandi took a tumble on the stairs while Dean was outside working on his new toy. A black '67 Impala that he had bought at an auction for a steal. He heard the thuds and called to her and when he got no answer he rushed inside to find her unconscious at the bottom of the stairs.
Dean called the dispatcher while he could still breathe as he cradled her and he reached with shaking hands to make sure that his boys were moving. The second help arrived he went into a full blown panic attack.
Arandi was fine. "I got dizzy at the last two steps Dean. I didn't fall the entire flight." She reassured him.
She was thus forbidden to be anywhere near the stairs until after the boys were born even though it meant sleeping in the guest room. It didn't really matter because she was confined to a bed for the rest of her pregnancy.
Dean decided his maternity leave started that day. If there was such a thing as over pampered, Arandi was it. It was annoying at first but then she realized how blessed she really was and how happy Dean was when he was making her comfortable.
She still couldn't believe that he was hers and she wanted to give him the world or at least anything and everything that made him smile and out shine the sun.

Dean woke up with a start and one look at the bedside clock told him it was three in the morning. The coolness that hit him told him that he was alone on the bed.
"Arandi." He called out thinking she was in the bathroom but he got no reply and he quickly jumped from the bed to look for her.
He found her leaning against the post of the front porch staring up at the stars. "Baby you need to be lying down." He said softly placing a gentle kiss on her neck.
"How did I get so blessed to find you?" She asked but didn't move.
"If you ask me I'm the one that's blessed. I couldn't be me without you. I wouldn't have this without you." He said sliding his hands over her large pregnant belly.
"I think I loved you from the day I met you but I was sure that you would never want me. A god among men."
"Well that's getting a little overboard but…." Dean stopped talking as what she said dawned on him. "Arandi?"
She turned to face him with a wide smile. "Yeah baby it's me. All of me."
Dean pulled her into the best hug that he could manage. "When? How?"
"I was dreaming about baseball of all things. We were playing and some guy tripped me and you kicked his ass. I woke up and I realized it wasn't a dream. I thought about it and suddenly it all came back to me. Every single time that you have stood beside me and loved me. Even when you sent me away you loved me."
Dean grabbed her face and peppered her with kisses. "I always wanted what was best for you."
"The best was you all along."
They kissed intimately, their love shining through every caress until Arandi pulled back with a tiny gasp.
"I forgot that you're supposed to be in bed so let's get you there." He commanded.
"Dean I think you better get dressed and get the truck." She whispered.
"What's wrong? You stood too long. Fuck I'm an idiot. Are you in pain? I need to get you back to bed and call the doctor…."
Arandi grabbed Dean's face forcefully and stared into his eyes. "My love my water just broke and unless you want our boys delivered on this porch please do what I ask."
Dean's eyes widened and his mouth gaped. Any other time it would have been comical. "You….babies….."
"Dean please breathe. I kind of need you right now."
He sucked in air and tried to focus. Arandi needed him. He let the cop part of him take over. He didn't panic at all for nearly ten whole minutes when he couldn't start the truck and Arandi had to tell him that he was trying to start the truck with the keys to his gun vault.
He took a deep breath and tried again.
"Maybe I should drive." Arandi grumbled.
Dean shot her a glare.
"There that Dean right there that's the one I need." She huffed as a huge contraction hit her.
He managed to stay focused. He called the dispatcher on the radio and told him to call ahead to the hospital and to get a hold of Sam for him and Misha.
Somehow he got them to the hospital without running over a single soul that stupidly got in his way.
Although he did owe Ernie the court house clerk a new fender and Mrs. Wilkinson, the second grade math teacher, a new mail box.

Dean grunted and winced as Arandi squeezed his hand so hard he swore he heard something snap. He didn't care there was no way that pain could compare to what Arandi was currently going through.
Just the thought of what it would feel like to push out something bigger than the opening had him moaning in pain right along with her.
Women deserved medals for this. He made the mistake of glancing and seeing the crown of his first sons head. He wasn't quite prepared for that and his knees felt weak.
"Son if you pass out you are going to get dragged into a corner while we take care of your wife and children first then we will tend to you."
"I'm good doc." Dean murmured. Man how many crime scenes had he seen in his career that made this look like a merry go round ride. He got angry with himself. Those thought didn't belong here.
"You're doing great baby." He said to Arandi. She looked so tired.
"You are not my most favorite person in the world right now." She growled.
Dean snickered as he planted a soft kiss on her sweaty brow. "Baby after everything we have been through this is a stroll in the park."
"Then you spread your legs and push a kid out of your dick."
"You know I would if I could."
Arandi's hard look softened then. "You would I know you would." She was hit by another strong contraction.
"Besides I'm pretty sure that you broke my hand so I'm right there with you." He said through gritted teeth as Arandi squeezed his hand even harder.

He sat on the hospital version of a recliner with a sleeping baby in each arm looking from one to the other. They were beautiful and he was in awe that he had been part of their creation.
Baby Dean and Sammy because it was the right thing to do Arandi had said. She had no idea what that meant to him or maybe she did.
His life was complete.
A nurse came quietly into room and took one boy at a time. Dean was already feeling the pangs of letting go.
Arandi was sleeping soundly and Dean's heart fluttered with how much he loved her and how he had almost lost her forever.
There was so much he wanted to tell her now that he had her back, so much he needed to tell her.
He knew one thing for sure, he wasn't going anywhere till his little family went with him.
Sam came in quietly moments later with coffee and sandwiches. Dean hadn't even realized that he was hungry until he took the first bite. It was over eighteen hours later now.
"Thanks Sammy."
"Hey no problem dad." Sam grinned.
Dean smiled. "I'm a dad Sam."
"And I'm an uncle." Sam replied excitedly. "Believe me I'm going to take all the practice I can get for when I have my own. Jade took one look at them boys and her maternal clock sped up or whatever you call it."
"At least you get to practice with nephews. I'm going in without a clue as to what I'm doing."
"It starts with knowing which end to diaper and being prepared to be used as baby boys pee target practice."
Dean laughed with his hand over his mouth to try and keep quiet. "I remember all the times you did that to Bobby and me."
Sam looked at Dean fondly. "There you go bro you've had plenty of practice. I turned out fabulous."
Dean swallowed the lump in throat. "Well if they eat as much as you did I'll have to get four or five more jobs."
They both snickered softly and leaned against each other shoulder to shoulder.
Dean suddenly realized in all the excitement that one thing had been forgotten.
"She remembered Sammy right before her water broke she remembered everything."
"That's awesome!"
"Yeah but I wish she couldn't remember the pain she had to go through because of me."
"Dean you had no way of knowing what was going to happen."
"I know that but breaking up with her like that was so wrong. Why couldn't I see then how much she loved me?"
"There is no use in dwelling in the past. You have an entire future ahead of you as a husband and a dad."
"You're right and I will make it up to her forever and a day."

Dean's time off from work slipped away too fast and he had taken an extra two weeks because Arandi really had broken his hand. It wasn't very serious but she had babied him and he ate it up.
Arandi took to being a mom like an expert. Dean on the other hand had at least one freak out per day.
Their boys were beautiful and being fraternal they each had taken likenesses of their parents. Baby Dean had his dad's amazing green eyes and mom's black hair while Sammy had his mom's outrageous blue eyes and dad's brownish blonde locks.
Having a family all his own was an amazing feeling of completion.
He regretfully returned to work but called home often and still went home for lunch.
Arandi had snapped back to her normal shape with weeks and since she was breast feeding well her already ample chest was just out there now and Dean felt just a bit overwhelmed and could hardly wait for the doctor to give the all clear.
"You don't realize how much you need sex until you can't have it for nearly two months." He told Sam. He didn't do anything for relief either, if Arandi had to go without so would he.
He was sitting at his desk filling out a report for a drunk and disorderly when the Shale the dispatcher came rushing into his office without knocking.
"Sheriff we just got a call of a hostage situation at Dr. Jared's office."
Dean jumped up and grabbed his gear, ready to go. He wondered why the dispatcher had come running instead of just calling him over the radio. He looked at him.
"Dean, Arandi and the boys are there for their checkup." Shale said calmly. "I remember that you told me that she had to change it because Sammy had a rash."
Dean's legs trembled. Shale was right. Dear God no and then anger thrummed through him and he rushed out the door where the rest of his men were waiting.
When they reached the doctor's office. There were people everywhere in the parking lot and two men face down on the ground.
"What the hell?" Sam said as they rushed forward.
Kerry the receptionist pointed at the men. "They were demanding drugs and waving guns around and they pointed a gun at Baby Dean. I've never seen anything like it, Arandi moved so fast they barely took a breath and she had them both on their asses in a blink of an eye."
"Where is my wife Kerry?" Dean asked because he couldn't see her anywhere.
"She's inside waiting for you."
Misha and Caleb had the men up and handcuffed, Dean walked over to them. "You had better thank whatever deity that you believe in that I didn't get to you first."
He and Sam rushed into the building because Jade often went with Arandi to help her out with the boys.
They were both sitting with a boy in their arms.
"Arandi."
She jumped up and rushed to Dean as he wrapped his arms around her and Baby Dean.
Sam did the same to Jade and Baby Sam.
"I saw the gun and I just flipped." Arandi said calmly. "Who points a gun at a baby? Looks like my police training is still in full gear."
"Thank God but baby are you ok." Dean asked.
"I'm fine Dean I just want to go home."
"Jade you alright?"
Jade was visibly upset and only nodded.
Dean took Sammy from her and they walked outside. The men had already been whisked away.
"Misha, Sam and I are taking our wives home so take over please."
Misha nodded. "Shale said that the Kerr County is sending a van for them, they are wanted pretty much all over the state."
"Good because they would have met with an accident otherwise."
"That's still possible." Misha muttered as he climbed in his cruiser.
Dean took Arandi's keys as they put the boys into their safety seats.
Sam took Dean's cruiser to take Jade home.
They drove in silence. Dean held Arandi's hand reassuringly until they were home.
Together they settled the boys down for nap and then he got Arandi to change into something comfortable while he made her some tea.
Dean had been with her long enough to know that she was holding something in so he let her sip on the tea and then pulled her into his arms.
In seconds she was sobbing. "I saw the gun and suddenly I was back on that roof with that man. I fought him so hard Dean but knowing that I was pregnant I just so afraid to hurt the baby. It didn't really dawn on me that he was going to kill me until he got me on the roof until I heard what he said to you on the phone. I should have fought harder." She hitched into his chest.
"If you had he might have just killed you and dumped you baby. As hard as it is to remember that time and all the pain, we're here baby now together and our boys are fine. You were so brave and I love you."
Arandi nodded. "You're right. We got past the worst of it all and we're here together and nothing will ever hurt us that way again."
"That's my girl." Dean hugged her harder.
"I remember how you looked at me before he shot me and knew at that very moment that you had never stopped loving me."
"I didn't, never could." He murmured. He pushed back the awful memory.
"So….." She said as she pulled back from her husband's arms. "I got the all clear today." She smiled seductively.
Dean grinned. "Really?" They needed a distraction and what could be better.
She nodded as she walked towards the stairs. "Yes sheriff."
Dean had forgotten he was still in uniform. "Well I'm going to start by frisking you." He pulled his handcuffs and dangled them off his index finger while he bit his lip. "Then we'll see if you need to be punished." He followed her up the stairs and pulled her into a searing kiss.
XXXXXXXXXXXXX
After spending time with the boys and having dinner they had headed back to bed for a bit more fun.
They could hardly get enough of each other. It had been hard to be without that intimacy for so long.
The boys woke up once and they took care of them together.
Dean made them some coffee and they stood on the porch watching the sun come up before he headed into work.
He watched as the rays slowly fell over her skin and it took his breath away. This was what love was, never not being amazed to see the person of his affection glowing like magic and making his heart beat out of his chest as if he was seeing her for the first time.
He loved her and he knew that she loved him and there would never be enough words to proclaim that love but actions he could do until the world waved its final goodbye.
He set his coffee mug down and leaned his back against the porch entrance. He pulled her towards him and kissed her.
She smiled when he pulled back with a contented sigh. He caressed her face and just stared at her.
"You alright my love?" She asked.
"Just amazed at how much I love you." He whispered. He turned his head and coughed slightly. "Hmm looks like I may have to call out sick."
"Oh baby you are hot." She said kissing his forehead.
"I need to be in bed."
"Yes, yes you do and I will take good care of you until you're feeling so good." She encouraged.
"You gonna kiss it all better?" He asked huskily.
"It wasn't kissing I had in mind but it will be a start."
"Fuck, I think I need to get in bed now, my legs feel weak."
"Oh baby come on then." She took his hand
He followed her with a huge grin. He was going to make that call, then he was going to make love with her until they were both boneless. He was going to spend time with his boys and just be amazed at how his life had finally come together.
Then they could go back to bed and oh yeah life was good.
And getting better by the second.
