Chapter 22: My inner Demon

The tiny girl was cussing like a sailor. Bindings were cutting into her wrist and she was still drowsy from the medication.

"Get me out of here you fucking assholes! And turn of that freaking music" She should have stayed in the hospital in her comfortable bed. But no.. she had to sneak out to look for Lauren. When she found out that the blonde wasn't with her she had panicked. Fear of being abandoned again and actually worried about the well being of her friend she had decided to find out more. But the second she had left the building somebody had knocked her out and now she was here.

"Why couldn't they use handcuffs? I can get out of handcuffs but noooo duct tape is the new binding of choice it seems. Newsflash real cuffs are the way to go on the red carpet. More fancy and shiny" she muttered. The tape was sticky and she already felt her skin not liking it. How much she wished to scratch it... Wiggling out wasn't doing anything and there was no sharp object she could use to cut through. She was frustrated and scared. Who were those people? What did they want from a street rat like her?

"I swear to you if you don't let me out... I have a badass friend with badass superpowers who's gonna kick your butts you assholes! Lauren! Come on girl, you know the drill.!" Maybe it wasn't wise to mention the blondes name but intimidating her captors could work... at least she hoped so.

"Where is Lauren.? Tell me..." Kenzi almost peed her pants seeing two eyes glowing dangerously in the dark. "Ow shit.. what kind of freak are you?"

"Could you stop clicking your pen for one second?" Rena hissed but the wolf kept on clicking while staring absentminded at the wall.

"Earth to Dyson: I am talking to you." still no reaction.

"What the...?!" Dyson growled when a stapler hit him square in the face. "Why did you do that?"

"Because you were annoying like hell."

"I am stressed, okay? We have no idea where Lauren is and you are annoyed by me? Don't you care about her? Did you just write her off? To complicated?" he got angry.

"Don't care? Don't fucking care? Are you serious? Do you think you're the only one being affected? Do you have any idea how many times I had to hold Ivy, comforting her, telling her that her big sister, the only family she has left didn't leave because of her? Reassuring her that Lauren is fine. I worry. I'm worried sick. I missed her and feel like I failed. Every waking hour I try to find her. Calling contacts, using my... talents. I haven't slept for days and you think I don't care just because the noise of your pen is driving me crazy? My nerves are blank so I'd appreciate..." before Rena could continue the noise of an opening door ripped her out of her monologue.

A nervous older woman came in. "Excuse me detectives... I didn't want to disturb you but... but my daughter... She didn't came home last night and I worry. She never did anything like that. She knows better... I am so scared..." Tears were forming in her eyes.

Rena rushed to her side and helped her sit down. "Please take a seat Miss..."

"Dennis... Mary Dennis"

"Aww shit..." Dyson muttered.

For days she was feeling sick. She barely had enough power to get up anymore. Hunger.. So hungry but not for food. She ached for Lauren. Feeling, touching, seeing the blonde was all that she longed for. The longing grew stronger from day to day.

The brunette couldn't understand the sudden disappearance of her... girlfriend? Was she even her girlfriend? They actually never talked about that but she had always thought that things were fine. More than fine actually. It was magical.

Their last kiss had been so powerful, so unbelievable intimate. It had gone through her like a warm, electrical, fuzzy lightning bolt if that made even sense but it had been too overwhelming to properly describe. What she could say was that she felt complete at that moment. Like they were one.

With a sigh she slumped down a tree trunk. She loved the garden. Private and secluded away from everyone this place gave her the chance to think, to hide for once. So much happened. So much she couldn't explain. Her hand reached for her neck, rubbing the crescent shaped mark behind her hair. The birthmark had changed ever since she had met Lauren.

It had started with a slight tingling and turned into a burning now painful sensation. That fateful kiss... It was like her neck was exploding and she could swear she had seen the mark glow in the mirror in a deep shining blue which was ridiculous. She must be losing it. It was the first time for her to be this love sick. There had been the one or another time but it had never been like this.

She didn't know what made her walking over to that crying girl but it was like a greater force was part of it what sounded silly.

From the first second she was drawn to the blonde. A magnetic pull so to say. She found it to be astonishing to feel so deeply connected to someone only being 17. She was sure that for once it wasn't her teenage enthusiasm. It had to be real.

She felt different for a few weeks now. It was like something inside her begging to be released. It was crawling in her insides, demanding, pressuring, yearning for lust and the release of it. There was a change a change she didn't understand.

The brunette had caught herself in some situations she had been more... forward than anticipated. This thing, whatever it was, was controlling some of her motions, amplifying her needs like a beast ready to take down its prey.

It didn't help that she was missing Lauren terribly. What made her feel like she had to go? What kind of danger did she mean? Rena and Dyson weren't telling her everything and she wondered if there was a bigger picture. Even Ivy seemed to keep a secret. Sweet but sometimes scary girl. The protective speech of the younger sibling was still echoing in her head. There had to be more behind it and she had to find out. For Lauren's and her own sake. She didn't like to be played with like a piece in a chess game and was determined to find out the truth.

She was pulled out of her thoughts when she heard someone approaching. The tall blonde didn't seem to see her when got into a similar position as the brunette.

Tamsin... Bo didn't know what she should think of the new cop in town. Cold, witty and a sharp tongue weren't that inviting for her. Should she trust her? Should she trust anyone with Lauren? Was Tamsin the reason she left?

What was the blonde doing here? This wasn't a public space and not many knew about it. The brunette decided to watch the woman for a bit, hoping that she might be getting some answers.

The cop looked almost as lost and desperate as her. The situation must be hitting her harder than Bo imagined but why?

Tamsin sat there for a while staring in to the distance. Bo wondered what the woman was thinking about. Was it Lauren? Did she have a lead? Or was it something else. For a while the brunette watched in peace until a ringing phone broke the silence.

Bo was too far away to understand much but she saw how nervous the blonde was. The phone call was short and Tamsin jumped immediately to her feet running. Whatever they talked about, the brunette KNEW it had to be about Lauren.

Many would call the idea to follow a mysterious semi stranger crazy or stupid but her inner beast was pretty convincing.

Cat like she sneaked after the blonde. In a fitting moment she slipped on the truck, hiding and hoping that she wouldn't be found.

Had she known how long and cold the ride would become, she probably still would have done the same.

The moment they entered the city Bo felt her mark burning again. Was that a good sign? When the truck came to a stop and the blonde got out Bo was relieved that the journey came to an end. Her neck hurt and she was sore at places she never had felt before. Checking that nobody was there she climbed from the truck stretching her limbs.

The place gave her the creeps. An evil like aura was engulfing the building. The loud music booming out of the establishment wasn't reassuring either. Oh and don't forget the people looking at her like some piece of meat. This didn't look welcoming. Where did she get herself in to?

Was this the right place? Was Lauren here? Her mark was definitely burning now, as strange as it may sounded.

"Fuck that... I'm gonna get in there..." she muttered to herself. The front entrance was out of the question, but there had to some kind of back entrance or window or anything...

So the brunette walked around the building to find a slightly opened window. "Jackpot" she whispered and slipped through. She landed in some kind of maintenance room stuffed with some things she had never seen before.

"So I'm inside but where am I supposed to go? What am I looking for?" she mumbled. Her questions were quickly answered by a voice echoing through the cellar. A girls voice... scared... pissed.

Bo followed the noise and eventually entered another small room as quietly as possible. There was actually a young, dark haired girl bound to a chair, cussing like a sailor. Who the hell ties up a child? Where did she get herself in to?

"I swear to you if you don't let me out... I have a badass friend with badass superpowers who's gonna kick your butts you assholes! Lauren! Come on girl! You know your drill" The girl yelled. The second Laurens name was mentioned something clicked inside of Bo. Something was taking over eliminating every sense of holding back.

"Where is Lauren.? Tell me..." Her voice turned in to a darker snarl.

The girl was visibly scared when she appeared out of the shadows. "Ow shit... What kind of freak are you?" Freak?

She felt the last remnants of her control slowly slipping. Her actions didn't feel like her own anymore when she rushed to the tied girl and started to choke her.

"Where... is... my... mate!" She growled not caring that she cut of the others air supply. The girls eyes widen in terror. Body shaking. Bo tried to calm down her inner beast but she was only rattling on its way to long chains. Mate... why did she.. it... say mate? Why was she just a spectator in her own body.

"I... don't know.." the girl coughed... "I swear" Tears were wetting the brunettes hands. The girl was crying and shaking fearing that this would be the end. "Please let.. go..." she whimpered every snarky remark gone. After all she was still just a girl. The grip on her neck loosened a little. Instead a warm pulse was filling her insides.

"Tell me..." The brunette said again now calmer.
