A/N: To the guest who accidentally googled phallus... Oh my god you poor soul but interesting what you found out. I am sorry but I really had to laugh. This story isn't mythological correct. People who have an understanding or learn about ancient Greek/roman gods will see that I took many liberties. Playing around, changing some things.. You know. I also understand that this chapter won't interest everyone but it offers some background info. The next chapter will probably contain what you all have been waiting for.

Chapter 26: A Glimpse at the Past

Lauren sat on her bed petting Dile absentminded behind his ears. She was a Dea an Ancient goddess or at least on her way to become one. How was someone supposed to stomach that information? Especially when you were supposed to reform the world as we know it. A prophecy resting on her shoulders. Her's and someone unknown. Pallas reincarnation... true love reunited... How much she wished Bo could be that someone. She didn't want to love another one. She didn't even know if said person was even born yet. Did she have to wait centuries or was Pallas already among them? Maybe she was old and creepy? She still had so many questions that Dr. Everett couldn't answer. Who else could she ask.

Lauren scratched her neck. The sun shaped birth mark in her neck was making problems lately. Tingling and burning more often. But now it was becoming almost unbearable. Had this anything to do with her heritage?

Exhausted she fell asleep hoping that it could clear her thoughts. When Lauren opened her eyes she found herself surrounded by gigantic marble pillars. The buildings scattered around reminded her of ancient Greek Temples. Was this the Olymp? The realm of the Dei? It looked oddly familiar to her. Had she been here before? She looked down at her. Hands traveling over the long, white, cotton tunic she was wearing. A leather strap around her waist held it in place. Her long blonde hair was flying in the soft warm summer breeze.

Her body started to move. She had no control over it. Her eyes spotted a brunette beauty dressed in leather armor tending the pegasi. She looked breathtakingly beautiful. Soft, sun kissed skin peaked out of the rough leather. Toned muscles flexed and relaxed under the labor. A trained and deadly warrior with the most loyal and passionate heart. Fierce and strong in the battlefield but pure and loving on the inside.

The blonde stopped behind the brunette and slung her arms around the warrior, pulling her close. Nuzzling her face in dark locks she enjoyed the addicting scent of the other. "My beloved Pallas. How much I missed you." She whispered in the other girls ear making her tremble in wanton.

"Athena... You are back." Pallas said.

"I couldn't stay away any longer from you. My heart ached to be by your side."

"You shouldn't my goddess. You need to train... to prepare for the great ceremony."

"I'm not your goddess... I'm still a humble ancient like you my beloved."

"But soon you will become a Dea. I am not worthy your love and ministrations."

Lauren felt like a voyeur watching those two talking but she couldn't escape. The love she felt as Athena for Pallas was unimaginable. Her chest felt like bursting out of affection and the purest and strongest kind of love.

Athena turned Pallas around so she could look her love in the eyes. "Never think of you as any less than me. You are my soul and my heart. Without you I can't exist. Just because I was chosen to become the keeper of wisdom doesn't change who I am and my feelings towards you. You are my equal and you will ever be that."

"I..."

"No. I won't accept you not seeing who you really are. You are the bravest warrior on the battlefield. You have the kindest and most passionate heart and you would do everything to save the people you love. Emotions are your guide and you tend to act before thinking but that is one trait I admire." She smiled at the brunette and cupped her cheek with her palm. Pallas visibly sank in to the touch closing her eyes.

Oh oh... Were Laurens thoughts when she felt arousal rising up in her.

"We.. We can't... your father..." Pallas breathed.

"Zeus has no say in this matter. This is just us. Your father Triton was the one who raised me. Zeus abandoned me only thinking of me as the new keeper and not as his daughter. Please let me. I have waited so long. I need to feel you. Be with you." Athena begged.

"I can't deny you. I never could and never will be. Let us become one my love."

With that the two kissed. A powerful aura surrounded them. A mix of gold and blue was forming the sun and the moon uniting in a powerful sign. The two ancients were making love in the stable. Every part kissed and caressed they sank in a spiral of passion but the love never left.

Meanwhile Lauren wasn't sure how she should feel about this. Endless love and passion were filling her senses. She had never felt anything like this before. Only the kisses with Bo came close but longed for more. For this... Lauren never had sex, never made love but this was so fulfilling and breathtaking that she longed for Bo. She had to see her. Feel her, love her. Her heart screamed to find the brunette, claim her.

The dream or was it a memory became blurry at first and then changed. Lauren was standing in some kind of arena. A sword felt unknown and heavy in her hand. She looked at the shining metal, runes carved in the hilt and the blade were glowing golden in anticipation. It was a fine piece of craftsmanship. Crafted by Hephaestus himself it was sharper than any other sword or knife but the most special about it were the runes. Soaking up life energy to preserve it whenever needed Athena could heal immediately on the battlefield she didn't even need contact anymore. The sword even amplified her powers so that any of her fellow soldiers and friends could be healed in the middle of a fight. But the powerful sword only had those abilities in the hand of the keeper of Wisdom and health. For everyone else it was just a rusty piece of metal.

Lauren/Athena felt the power in her hands. The sword was pulsating filling her with unknown strength.

"Show me your new power goddess" Pallas voice echoed through the giant hall. Dressed in leather armor with a crimson colored cape and undergarments she was the complete opposite of Athena who was dressed in her typical white gown.

Strength, Passion and fire against Serenity, Wisdom and Calmness.

While being a capable fighter she rather stayed in the background and admired her soldiers. Pallas was her warrior, her counter part. She was the fire burning over enemy land while Athena healed their own. The first keeper of wisdom and her chosen partner and love were an unstoppable team. Together they could move the world... relieve it of those who stood in the way of freedom and equality.

This should be the last part of the ceremony. Fighting the strongest in the realm to show she was worthy the crown. The general of her army was ready to defend her honor, to show that she was a worthy partner.

Holding the heavy two hander in her right hand like it weighed nothing Pallas waited for Athena to strike. They used to fight with wooden swords and turned to real weapons when they grew older. Athenas powers keeping them from injuries but the new weapon was something both parties weren't fond of. Ensis wasn't a regular sword. It was deadly. Wounds caused by this weapon couldn't be healed by powers or herbs hindering enemies to recover but it also meant that a mistake... a hit could be lethal to Pallas.

"This is madness father. I won't fight against her with this weapon" Athena said.

"You will as I say or I'll let you feel the consequences." Zeus voice boomed with his power.

"I rather take any punishment than fighting the one I love with this."

"You are foolish and selfish child. You are now a goddess. You have to learn to wield this weapon or you will never become who you are supposed to."

"What if I don't want to become that figure? What if I just want to lead a normal?"

Zeus grew angry. "Your future is bigger than what you imagined. Those humans and fae you admire so much.. do really want to cause their complete extinction?"

"What... What do you mean?"

"They are dying out of idiocy and hatred. You are the one destined to stop the blood spilling. Heal the land, unite the people and reestablish the order."

"The order? You mean oppression? Taking away the rights from others?"

"Sometimes it is necessary to create a hierarchy or everything will fall in to chaos. Please child. All I want is for you to train. Do it. Please" He became softer.

"Nothing will happen Athena, I promise. I'm a good fighter. I will dodge and block your blows. You won't be able to harm me." Pallas said with a soft voice. "You never won against me, remember?"

Athena sighed. Lauren felt the turmoil in her ancestor. She hated to fight and just wanted this to get over. Her hand tightened around the leather bound grip of the weapon.

Both women stormed at each other. They fell in to a almost choreographed dance. Blows being dodged, metal hitting metal echoing in the arena. Their moves were precise and elegant. They knew each other very well. Anticipating the others every move they reacted at a twitch of a muscle.

Ensis was perfectly balanced in her hand and was like an extension of her arm. None of the girls knew how long they were fighting. Lauren was in awe of the exact movements of the body she was prisoner. Was this really what happened or was she just dreaming? It felt to real like a memory relived.

There seemed to be no clear winner but Athena knew Pallas held back. The brunette was stronger, faster than her. She was the fighter. She should have already won. "Stop... holding back." The blonde huffed.

"Who says I'm holding back?" Pallas grinned.

"I know you. You are only fighting with half of you strength. Come on. Show me your power!"

"Are you sure?" Pallas asked stopping in mid swing.

"Absolutely. We need to test the sword. You might as well challenge it."

"As you wish my queen" Pallas said and her eyes turned in to an ethereal blue. The air was crackling with energy. With incredible speed the warrior stormed at the goddess. Athena was prepared to counter. The second she expected the hit to come she swung Enis full force at Pallas expecting to hit metal but instead the iron bore through leather and flash. Zeus had jumped with the Aegis between the fighting women blending Pallas who stopped mid motion at the bright light.

Eyes wide, heavily coughing Pallas sank to her knees. Ensis fell from Athenas hands when she rushed to her lovers feet. "Pallas!" She screamed tears trickling down her face. Shakily she ripped the rest of the armor away and saw the gaping wound. Blood was gushing out of it. "Come on stay with me" Athena begged and recalled all her power to no avail. "No.. Please no.." the blonde cried. Lauren felt the pain of Athena like her own. It was like her heart was ripped out. She couldn't breath. Pure agony washed over her.

"Calm.. down my... my love..."

"Stay with me" Athena begged even though she knew that there was nothing they could do now. "We are in this together... till the end... You promised... We would take away the pain of the world.. No more oppression.. No more fear..."

Pallas shakily lifted her blood soaked hand cupping her lovers cheek. "We will... I promise.. My spirit... my spirit is strong... I will return and the.. the world will be a better... a be.. better place. You have to be strong.. for... me and the... the future. I will always be with you.. Just... Just have faith..." Pallas breathed.

Lauren woke up with mind numbing pain filling her body. That dream.. that memory. It had been so intense... Her sun mark was burning, the pain creeping over her entire body. Pulses went through her making the air crackle.

Lauren screamed. Her mind was boiling, her heart aching. She looked for Dile to call for help but the cat was nowhere in sight. She couldn't move. Her limbs paralyzed. Whatever this was... She was sure she would die.
