Chapter Six.

Stefan reached Klaus's mansion on time letting himself in this time. Finding the hybrid in the living room on the phone he sat across from him. Klaus finished his call and looked at his old friend, glad he return so fast.

'Well the planes ready, we can leave now. Should be in New Orleans in a few hours.' He told him.

'What did you do with Hayley?' He asked, his curiosity getting the better of him.

'Let her go.' He replied bluntly. Which stunned the young vampire.

'And told her if I ever see her again I'd kill her.' Stefan chuckled, thinking he was talking to someone else for a moment there.

'What do you plan to do to Tyler.' Stefan knew not the press Klaus too much, especially when it involved Tyler but he could see the wheels turning in his head that it left him wondering. Klaus just gave him a look of 'Whatever do you mean?'

'Don't hide it Klaus, I know from everything we just found out you have some kind of plan, it's obvious you care about Caroline a lot that you don't want to see her hurt, so I have to assume it involved with his head or heart being removed from his body.'

'Watch it mate.' He didn't like where this conversation was going.

'Relax, I'm not going to spread around the original hybrid has a soft spot. I'm not stupid. But I am glad Caroline has someone like you who would do anything to protect her.' Klaus was quiet he didn't want to talk about his feelings, to anyone, ever, except Caroline. If anyone else found out they could use her against him, he had many enemies. He couldn't think about his feelings right now it still confused him, he just needed to know she was safe.

Noticing the tension on Klaus's face Stefan knew he had gotten to him. He wanted to make a smug comment, it was very rare to leave the Hybrid speechless. But he needed to mind his words or his tongue might find itself separated from his mouth.

'I'll leave it for now, but you need to face facts. Sooner or Later everyone will know about what she means to you, Can you promise that after all this she'll be safer with you.'

They both knew he made a good point, Stefan was very protective over Caroline, and although he could tell anyone who so much as laid a hand on her, would find themselves without a heart in less then two seconds, he knew it would not stop some from trying to get to the Original.

'Shut up Stefan.'

They remained in silence with their own thoughts.
