AN: The next two chapters are going to be Sesshomaru and Naraku's point of view, because it'll be an important character build and important to the story line, as always I don't own Inuyasha and blah, blah, blah.

I was growing increasingly bored with everyone around me, I checked my watch again. Where was she? Did she decide not to come after all…why the hell did I care? I got up from where I was sitting, much to the disappointment of the women sitting next to me and headed to scout the dance floor. I walked forward without any notice to the women and demons flocking toward me with their lust filled scents, damn Inuyasha, why couldn't he have chosen a better theme. I sighed mentally.

"Get off of me." Damn that girl. Why was always seems that every time that she was around she was in some kind of trouble. I better go save her…again. I heard whoever who was holding her chuckle darkly and recognized it immediately.
Naraku.
Damn that girl, I was beginning to wonder if maybe she had a flashing neon light above her that said "come and get it."
I didn't like the way that Naraku was holding her, and Kagome seemed to be struggling against his hold. Normally I didn't mind when Naraku chased skirt at our parties but this….this was a personal.
Whoa, what?

"Remove your hands." I said to him. Kagome's purple eyes reached mine, surprised but grateful.
"Why?" Naraku asked. "I found her first." He said in a mock whiney voice. I invited her asshole.

No you didn't Inuyasha did.
Shut up.

I had no desire to listen to my inner demon at the moment.

"Besides, what's she to you? I thought you didn't dirty yourself with the presence of humans."
Kagome was still struggling against Naraku, and for some odd reason it made my blood boil to see her in a position she didn't want to be in.

I like her.
What do I have to do to shut you up?

"Goodness me, is the big bad demon going soft?" Naraku said with mock horror.

Oh no he didn't. You should kill him.
I felt the venom producing in my fingertips, ready to strike him down when the Miko did something surprising. She lifted her head back and let her purification energy flow through the back of her head, Naraku stumbled back and I took the moment to lift him into the air away from Kagome. I pressed my nails into his neck and along with it my venom, not enough to kill him but enough to leave him in pain for a few hours…
or a few days.

"Keep your hands off Kagome." I squeezed his neck once more for good measure and threw him clear across the room.
I didn't have to, but the temptation was too great. Those around us averted their eyes, they knew better than to meddle. Then out of nowhere the Miko laughed, it seemed to be the kind of laugh that bubbles at the start of a nervous breakdown but I couldn't help but find the humour in everything that had just occurred.
Inuyasha owed me money.

And then I remember that she just rammed her head into Naraku's and that she put up quite a fight with that scum Joseph, and that she should be healing, not getting into more fights with demons, even if they were half.

"How's your head?" I asked.
She seemed to realize the pain at that moment because she let out a soft groan.
"You've taken quiet the beating today."
She placed her hand to head and attempted to move it but then groaned softly again. I could only imagine that the thumping of the bass from the music wasn't doing much to help.
"Come." I said to her, I only hoped that she would follow.

Hope? What? What are you doing hoping? Are you hoping for the girl?
And if I am?
Well…I am wondering how it would feel to trace our fingers down that spine and make her shiver, to have her lean in and feel the fullness of her breast pushing up against us, the feel of her hand on our crotch…
SHUT UP

I sensed that she was still following me and that made me feel good in a small sort of way, although I could sense some of her hesitation. What did she have to hesitate for?

"Sesshomaru…" I kept walking forward but turned my head to the side in acknowledgment to her.
"Thanks…for helping me today, with Joseph and my dad and even now."

I faced forward once again.
"I will always help you." I turned to face her. I got lost in her eyes; I had never before seen someone with purple eyes. She looked up at me, eyes searching for something, I wanted to reach to her and kiss her.

Wait, what?

Kiss her!

"This Kodak picture moment is brought to you by Wal-Mart, save money, live better, Wal-Mart."

Kill the pup first.
I nodded my head internally.

A huge smile spread across Kagome's face as she screamed his name and ran to him. The half-bred grabbed her and swung her in the air.

He is touching what is ours.
She's not ours.
Then why save her?

I went to the mini bar that was in the VIP section and asked Ani bartender for some aspirin, I planned on hurrying back to Kagome when I saw Kauru slumped over the bar table.
I sighed; ever since things between him and Ruka split he was becoming less and less of a people person.
"Ani, make sure that Kauru gets home okay, oh and make sure he doesn't hurt himself again." Ani nodded her head and went back to bartending. Guess him and Kagome weren't going to be meeting up anytime soon tonight.

When I got back I wasn't paying attention to what their conversation; I was too busy with the internal battle that I was now faced with, why was I continuously saving Kagome? But then I was pulled into the conversation when Kagome pointed at me.
It only took me a couple of seconds to figure out what it was that they were talking about.
"The Miko head butted him with her purification powers, but I indeed flung him across the room."
"Whoa, look at you little fighter." Inuyasha said messing with Kagome's hair, she winced slightly and I handed her the aspirin that Ani gave me while Inuyasha handed her the bottle of water that he had been drinking out of.

"I believe you owe me 2000 yen." I told Inuyasha just a tad bit smug that I had won yet another bet.
"Fuck." Inuyasha mumbled under his breath, while Kagome stated the obvious that she was lost in the conversation. Inuyasha then went on explaining to her the bet that we had while she nodded her head like she understood.

Just a while after that her demon slayer friend came up to ask her if she was ready to go, before pulling her out of the party, she did a quick wave at both me and Inuyasha, and I was just a tad bit said that she was gone.

"She…certainly is something else, huh?" Inuyasha said to me still looking in the direction that Kagome left.
I nodded my head, not really sure how I should take that comment.

He wants her too; you can't really be that daft.

I ignored my inner demon for the billionth time that night and went to the security quarters to see to it that Kagome got out safely without any more male interruptions. Once she got into the car with her friend I scanned the other screens for Naraku and felt just a tad bit better that he was currently making out with someone, which could only mean that all thoughts of Kagome had left his mind. And then I saw a face that I didn't expect to see.
Joseph.

His face still held traces of the fight this afternoon, although a lot of the minor injuries had already been healed; maybe it was time to have a little chat with him.

AN: Okay so it's not really a mini-chapter but hey I figured I'd make up for it somehow since I haven't updated but it's not my fault that I don't have internet, boo :(
well anyway I'm excited because I have this little story for Kauru so whoo!
Okay as always review because it reminds me why I started up this story again.
