Chapter One: We've got a problem

Daphne wrapped her jacket about her more tightly as she shivered in the autumn air. A sudden gust of wind had blown through, about ten degrees colder than the surrounding air. "Isn't it a bit cold for Halloween?" She complained lightly.

"Like, it's not Halloween yet, Daphne." remarked Shaggy as he loped along with the group, "But believe me, I'm ready for it to be!" he added as they passed a candy store, advertising sales for their ginormous bags of speciality seasonal candy.

The group had finished high school, and after college had brought the old group back together. Scooby, apparently, was immortal. He didn't look, or act, a day older. While they all had smaller jobs on the side to pay the bills, they worked outside but along with the police. Something like Sherlock Holmes.

Velma took out her cell as she got a text from the head detective at the station. "Guys, we've got a problem."

They stopped walking and the others turned to Velma expectantly. "A group of teenagers living in Oakhaven went over to the old puritan town at midnight. They'd heard the stories about Sarah's ghost, and wanted to try and find proof of its existence for some school project. Apparently, Sarah's become something of a cultural icon for the town. Anyway, they saw some phantom appear out of thin air, a man. Needless to say, they were scared out of their wits, and ran to the police station. They got pictures," She said as she scrolled to the next page of the text, "Before they ran andohmygod!" she said as the saw the pictures from behind the figure. It was Benjamin Ravencroft. She turned the phone around to show the gang, and they cast a few worried glances at each other, amidst the colourful array of whispered swear words.

Freddy was the first to speak. "Everybody, get packed. We've got another ghost to get rid of."
