Me and You - Kenny Chesney
There are only four chapters left after this one. Can you believe that? However, I won't update until I get some reviews. I want to know what all of you think of the story. I also, if anyone is interested, am thinking of doing a sequel if I get a storyline together. Let me know what you think. Enjoy!
Life was good. No, life was great. Reid couldn't have wished for anything more. Hannah had accepted his secret. The one thing he knew would either be the deal or the deal breaker. He still couldn't believe it sometimes. Their final semester was underway and nothing was going to slow them down, especially today. Valentine's Day. Reid wanted to do something special for her, but not just the same old thing that everyone did on Valentine's Day; he wanted to knock her socks off. He should have planned something out before the very last minute, but this was Reid Garwin, he would never plan out for anything. It was a Monday, so he couldn't whisk her away for the weekend to some romantic getaway spot. What was this so difficult?
"You look like you are in deep thought. Do you want me to come back," he loved that laugh. It was like music to his ears. "Reid?"
"Why would I want you to leave?" he asked in return. "I never want you to leave."
"Oh, Reid," Hannah smacked his shoulder lightly with her textbook. Her very heavy textbook. "Seriously though, I can meet up with you later if you want me to."
"Sit your ass down in that chair so we can eat. I'm starving," there went that laugh again.
"You were the one who decided to skip breakfast this morning," Hannah announced, dropping her bag onto the floor beside the table. "I told you that you would be hungry later, but would you listen? Nooo!"
"OK, I get it! You were right. Again. I need food woman!"
"Come on you big baby," Hannah shoved him towards the burger stand. "You really are stubborn when you're hungry. Good to know-"
"I am not!"
"Oh, honey, you really are."
Hannah didn't want to admit it out loud, but she was getting nervous. It was nearing two-thirty and Reid hadn't done anything yet. She never really was fond of the holiday to begin with, but she still thought that she and Reid were going to do something. Even if it was as cliché as going to see a movie. Something where she would be able to tell him the good news.
"What are you doing tonight?" Reid's voice entered her thoughts while she ate. "Around sixish. Dance was cancelled so I was just wondering-"
"I'm completely free tonight."
"Perfect!"
"Why?"
"It's a surprise," he smiled. "You're going to love it."
"That's all you're going to give me isn't it?" she asked. "Why is it whenever you plan on taking me somewhere, you're always so cryptic about the destination?"
"Because I love messing with your beautiful mind," Reid pulled out a twenty from his wallet and offered her his hand. "And it's so much fun to piss you off. You're adorable when you're angry."
"Oh yeah, adorable," Hannah rolled her eyes. "Where are you taking me now?"
"You don't want to hang out with the guys for a while?" he asked. "Devon will be so sad."
"You are such a loser," Hannah smacked him again, laughing loudly.
"God woman, you are so violent to me!" Reid exclaimed. "I should tell someone how abusive you are to me."
"You didn't care much last night," Hannah interrupted, blushing at the thought.
"No, I didn't, did I?" he couldn't hide the smirk forming on his face. "Have I mentioned how much I love how flexible you are? It's such a big turn on."
"Will you stop?" Hannah was now as red as a lobster. "I don't want the entire campus knowing-"
"Knowing what? That you're amazing in bed?" he asked. "Don't even look at me like that. Would I ever lie to you?"
"No, but-"
"No buts," Reid replied. "We have somewhere to be and it's only getting later. We have to get going."
Maybe they weren't going to do anything for Valentine's Day. Hannah didn't care before, but now she was getting upset. She wanted her and Reid to do something special together since it was their first Valentine's Day together, but she guessed today wasn't going to be her day. Don't get her wrong. She loved hanging out with Devon and the guys, but she wanted to be alone with her boyfriend. Was that too much to ask?
"Ready to go?" he broke her thoughts. "You're warm right?"
"We're going now?" this was all so sudden, but this was Reid after all. "I guess."
"Great, put this on," he handed her a blind fold. "Make sure you can't see anything."
"What?" Hannah exclaimed. "Why do I have to wear this?"
"It's part of the surprise," he grinned. "Come on, we're going to be late."
"Late to where?" she slid the mask on her face. "Reid, how am I supposed to walk?" Hannah let out a tiny shriek as she felt herself being lifted off the floor.
"You're not," Reid whispered into her ear, kissing her temple, carrying her to the car. "Don't worry about a thing. This is all part of the surprise."
"If you say so." Hannah stated with uncertainty.
Now Hannah understood what kidnapped victims felt like on those television shows. She had no idea where they were going or what time it was. The only thing she had to keep her sane was Reid's hand holding onto her own the entire ride. When the car came to a complete stop, she reached to take the cloth off when Reid grabbed both of her hands.
"Not yet," he said, helping her out of the car. "Just hold onto me and I'll tell you when you can take it off."
"OK," Hannah grabbed his arm tightly.
This was more like it. Something other than going to the movies or giving her flowers and chocolate; Reid really hoped that she liked his surprise. He'd been planning it for all right he hadn't been planning it that long. He led her across the black-topped paths up to their secret spot for the evening.
"Take it off," he instructed.
Hannah couldn't believe her eyes when the blind fold was off of her eyes. She was standing right before the Barney Mausoleum. Technically you weren't supposed to go beyond the gate, but apparently Reid had pulled a few strings. He led her up the stone steps to the table set for two with her favorite dinner and dessert. With a small cry, Hannah turned to the man behind her. How in the world did she end up with such a perfect man? She thought he was going to do something easy and boring, but this was so much better. He blew her away.
The stars winked down upon the couple while the blond pulled her over to the dinner that was in place. It was one of the best meals Hannah had ever eaten. She'd had pasta before, but this-this was amazing. Dessert was just as lovely. Chocolate cake with chocolate-covered strawberries as a little extra.
"Did you see that one?" Hannah pointed up to the night sky, stars darting left to right.
"Yes, what did you wish for?" he asked, rolling over to his side, smiling at her. After eating, the couple laid down under the sky on the quilt he had packed for them.
"I can't tell you that," she giggled. "It won't come true if I tell you."
"I could make it come true," he said. "I can make all of your wishes come true."
"Reid, I couldn't let you do that," she said, staring deeply into his icy eyes. "I don't want you getting addicted or whatever."
"I won't."
"Besides, you're already making my dreams come true." She told him.
"Don't get all sappy on me, Hannabelle Lee," he pulled her close to his chest, running his long fingers through her hair. "I love you, you know."
"I know. I love you, too," she whispered, closing her eyes, pressing her lips against his. "Um, there's something I need to tell you."
"What is it? What's wrong?" Reid's eyes grew wide with worry.
"It's nothing bad I assure you," she laughed at his face. "I just wanted to tell you that I'm going to New York the beginning of March. I finally got enough money for auditions."
"Hannah, that's amazing! I'm so proud of you," he kissed her happily. "You're going to get it for sure."
"I really hope so," she said. "And um, I know how busy you are right now, but I was wondering if you would come with me. I've never been to New York before, and I thought it would be fun for us. I understand if you don't want to, but-"
"Don't even think about that. I would love to go with you. Who knows, maybe we could take in a few sights while we're there," Reid couldn't believe it. They were going to New York together. This was going to be great. "So did you have a good Valentine's Day?"
"It was wonderful," Hannah grinned. "But I don't think it's quite over yet."
Hannah was having an inside panic attack. She never thought she would do anything like this. Ever! Her heart was pounding so hard by the time they got back to the dorms; she thought her heart was going to beat right out of her chest. Sure she had been getting more courageous this their physical relationship, but it was always Reid who initiated anything sexual. That was going to change though, if Hannah puckered up enough bravery.
Reid pulled up into one of the open parking spots and turned off the ignition. The blond looked down at their entwined fingers and smiled. He wanted to wait until they were back inside, but he had to give it to her now. He couldn't contain himself.
"I have one more present for you," he reached into his coat pocket, pulling out a long, narrow, and velvet box. "Happy Valentine's Day."
"Reid, this is all too much," she gushed. "I feel horrible that I didn't get you-"
"Just open the present woman!" Reid told her.
"I'm going, I'm going," Hannah flipped the lid open, gasping for what felt like the millionth time that day. "Oh, Reid, it's beautiful. It's –"
"The same one you were staring at for hours when we were up in Boston. I know," he couldn't smile anymore. "I saw your face light up when you saw it, and I wanted you to know just how much you mean to me. I love you so much, Hannah. I don't want you to second guess that for one second."
"Reid, I love it. I love you!" she leaned over the seat, and kissed him long and hard. "You know, Lexi is out with her friends all night. Want to come up? Watch a movie or something?"
"Just as long as it's not The Notebook again. There is no reason for tears tonight," he agreed, following her up to her room.
"Don't worry, there will be no tears of sorrow tonight," she said, leading the way.
The door clicked open, Reid stepped inside the room first, Hannah closely behind, and his jaw fell to the floor. The room was dim, dozens of candles glowed throughout. This was completely unexpected. He knew Hannah was a bit shy when it came to intimacy, but by the looks of things she was coming out of her comfort zone. He smiled again; he was going to enjoy this. He was going to enjoy this very much.
"I'll be right out, I just want to change really quickly," Hannah looked over her shoulder at the man who looked like a giddy child on Christmas morning.
"By all means, take your time," he said. "I'm in no rush to get out of here."
Reid quickly untied his shoes, tossing them to the other side of the room, followed by his socks and jacket. Grinning like a wolf, she slid back onto the bed, arms resting behind his head. He loved that she was nervous. It was adorable. At the sound of the bathroom door opening, Reid lifted his head off the bed. Damn. He was speechless, and the closer she got to him the dryer his mouth became. When she straddled his hips, Reid knew he was a goner.
"Happy Valentine's Day, Reid," he'd never heard her sound so; ugh he couldn't even form complete thoughts.
"Happy Valentine's Day," he managed after a moment or so. "I have to say, this is a surprise."
"I thought it would be fun to try something new," she replied, moving her hips slightly. "I hope it will meet your approval."
"It already does, sweetheart," he groaned, gripping her hips tightly.
"And we're just getting started," Hannah kissed him.
Reid was going to die. No, scratch that. He died and went to heaven, and was being pleasured by the most beautiful angel he had ever seen. The way her tongue moved perfectly in sync with his, the way he lips traveled over his ridged stomach. If he really did die right at that moment he would be a happy man, but this was supposed to be her day was it not? She should be feeling just as good as he was. Grabbing a hold of her hips again, Reid flipped her so she was on her back. It was his turn now.
"What-"
"Don't worry, just relax," Reid pushed her further into the mattress, holding their joined hands above her head. "It's my turn to make you feel good."
"Did I do something wrong?" she asked.
"You could never do anything wrong," he replied, running his tongue down her stomach. "You're perfect."
Hannah moaned loudly as Reid's tongue worked its magic. One of his hands tangled in her already messy hair, pulling her face closer to his while the other cupped her breast.
"You are so beautiful," he groaned against her neck. "You're the best thing that has ever happened to me and I don't care who knows," he brought his fingers down to the edge of her silk panties, ripping them soon after. "I love you. I'll love you forever."
"Forever is a long time," Hannah grabbed his shoulders as he entered her, dragging her nails down the muscles, receiving a groan in return. "Do you think we'll be together that long?"
"Forever and ever, babe," he answered, entering her again. "If you'll have me that is."
"Is this some kind of a proposal, Mr. Garwin?" Hannah asked. "Because if it was, it wasn't a very good one."
"If I was proposing you would know," Reid said, reaching for the comforter at the end of the bed, covering their bodies. "Why? Would you not accept if I asked you like that?"
"I probably would, but I want something a little more heartwarming than that if you were going to ask me to marry you," Hannah snuggled closer into his embrace. "Would you really marry me Reid?"
"I couldn't picture myself with anyone else," he answered truthfully. "The real question is would you want to be married to me?"
"I'd have to think about that," she joked. "Can I get back to you on that?"
"You think you're so funny don't you?" Reid asked.
"I am pretty hilarious aren't I?"
"Whatever helps you sleep at night."
